#4 of A Machines Love

Changing this up a little bit here, I decided to get out of the G rating on this story and make it a little more...more (For those of you who wanted it to get a little...more). I hope that this upload will be better than my last as the last one was done when I was a little under the weather.

A MACHINES LOVE

CH. 4

Ever so slowly my hand lost its grip on the door and the sound of it shutting behind me made me jump. Almost fearing what I'd find when I turned back, I only turned half way to see/confirm what'd just scared me, and keep the strange person in front of me in my peripheral vision (Corner of the eye if you need to know). But I needn't have worried as the person standing in front of me didn't even move a muscle and through that I was slightly grateful. 'What the heck is going on here? Does that lady at the front desk have a twin, and what happened to Lugia? Is she hiding somewhere while this person is in the room?' Several other questions ran through my mind, but through those running thoughts my eyes never left hers.

Even though the person standing before me was like a mirror image to the person that was standing out at the desk, when I'd looked out the door a few seconds ago, their eyes didn't match like that of true twins. 'Well then that crosses off that possibility of them being twins or such.' Though still, one thought down out of 20 was at least a start.

"I think it might be best if you sit down on the bed." She said as she gestured towards the bed with a single arm gesture, too which I did without a second thought as I did feel a little overwhelmed and coupled with how dizzy I was beginning to get with my thoughts all a whirl it was probably best it did sit down.

With a few deeps breaths, I could feel the dizziness in my head begin to abate, and with that I saw the person kneel down before me. As the two of us looked into each other's eyes, I could see that in her eyes she was actually concerned about something, but not trusting myself or my mouth/brain at this moment I just kept my mouth shut and awaited for her to make the first move. "I was just hoping to surprise you a little. I had no idea that my surprise would do this to you." She said in a bit of a concerned tone as she gently placed her hands over mine and gave them a reassuring squeeze.

"Surprise me? What are you talking about? Who are you and how did you..." I stopped in mid-sentence as she looked up to me and as our eyes met I could tell that she was greatly disturbed by something. I didn't know what that problem was but by the look in her eyes I could tell that it was probably something big and thought she might want to talk about it, she didn't know the consequences of doing so or what kind of repercussions would occur if someone else were to know about what was troubling her.

The following morning I got up, put my arm in the sling, hailed a taxi after a good breakfast, and headed off to the local hospital to get my arm checked out. "Are you sure that it's a good idea that you come along with me? I mean, what if someone finds out?" To which Lugia just lifted her head up slightly, peaking at me from under her sun hat and gave me an innocent smile.

"It's perfectly alright. The doctor is only going to be checking your shoulder, not me." She said with a bit of an innocent smile and a slight tilt to her head; that seemed to melt away any trepidation that I had about all of this. I mean, it was my plan that she stay at the hotel until I returned, but when I'd even slightly mentioned that idea, she'd been quick to shoot it down (But only looked that more cute when she stamped her foot a few times and glared at me). Stating that she was a bit tired of sitting in the room the whole entire day, with little to do other than watch the television set and experiment with her new capabilities.

"Thought still, it isn't like I'd be gone for long." I said as I turned to look out the front of the taxi once again. "A quick trip to the hospital, then over to the computer store to pick up a few things, and then..." I stopped in mid-sentence as I looked over at her out of the corner of my eye and saw her lick the corner of her lip at the mention of a computer store. 'I'd better be careful. If she gets too excited about the computer store then I could be trouble, or more precisely, my wallet will be in trouble.' It took the taxi about another ten minutes to get us there and I paid the driver with a ten and then opened the door for Lugia so that she could get out. Walking hand in hand with her the two of us walked over to the small clinic and ended up sitting in the waiting room for our number or appointment to be called. By the time that the nurse had called us in, Lugia was beginning to become a bit ancy about the long wait and was about to say something, but as the door opened (Nearly bopping her in the nose) did the nurse come out and usher us in.

A bit of pain and a few tweaking of some muscles the doctor nodded to us and stood back up. "It looks to me as if whomever it was that set your shoulder didn't do a proper job of setting your shoulder back into place." He then turned around and wrote something on a sheet of paper.

"Will my big brother be alright?" Lugia asked to which I was a bit surprised at the way her words seemed to strike home the notion of her actually portraying the part of my little sister. I mean, we'd planned on her acting the part of my little sis, but who knew that when she did that she'd pull it off so well. It was almost as if she were my little sister by how well her acting was.

The doctor looked over the shoulder at her and gave her a pleasant smile. "Of course he will." He then turned back around, holding a clipboard and flipping through some of the pages. "It says here that you are a truck driver and that your home town is pretty far back West." He then looked up from the papers to meet my gaze. "So normally, for an injury such as this, I'd send you to get a few X-Rays and such, and then take it easy at home. Though seeing your circumstance, I can offer you an alternative."

"You mean you can help him here?" Lugia asked, looking up the doctor and giving him her sad/innocent/pleading look.

"Of course I can help your brother here." He said as the doctor knelt down and lightly patted Lugia on her head. "But if I do so, he needs to keep that arm of his in a sling for quite a while longer. Can I count on you to make sure that he keeps his arm in that sling as often as possible?" To which Lugia happily nodded, beamed up at the doctor, and giggled as the doctor lightly rubbed her head.

With that said and done the doctor gave a shot to my injured shoulder, to loosen up the muscles, and with a quick jerk and a pull dislocated it once again, then with a twist and a shove popped it back into place. "Now remember. That arm of yours has to stay in that sling as often as possible. No lifting of practically anything with that arm for a week." He turned and gave a slight wink to Lugia to which she giggled and returned the notion to the doctor. With that done I paid of the doctor's services and getting back into the cab I saw Lugia wave innocently back to the doctor and we all got into the cab. "I think that went rather well." She said as she beamed up to me, as if to indicate that she could be trusted outside our personal space or when we were alone.

"Alright you proved yourself." I said admitted defeat and leaned back into the seat of the cab. I was thankful that the doctor had given me something for the pain, but knowing that the shot that he'd first used to dislocate/relocate my shoulder would wear off in a while was dropping my spirits. "I don't think we'll be able to stay or shop around for all that much at the computer store, so it'll have to be a quick trip."

Lugia reached up and lightly rubbed at my injured shoulder. I looked down at her and I could see her give me a pitiful look. "If you really want to, we can just go back to the hotel. I know that..." I stopped her with a shake of my head and looked out of the corner of my eye.

"No, you proved yourself today and that deserves a reward. It's just going to have to be a quick reward though." To which Lugia nodded and turned back to follow the line of traffic.

(Earlier)

As a bit of a deal with her coming with me, if she was able to keep up the act/appearance of being my little sister throughout the trip to the doctors and back, I'd reward her with a trip to the local computer store and purchase her a unique things for her to eat as well as learn a bit more about her and her new abilities.

(Present)

The driver pulled up to the front of the computer store and when he took the money he gave me a concerned look. "You sure you're alright? You're looking a bit pale there bud." To which I gave him a smile and a nod. It was good to know that at least some people were a bit concerned for other, and I let him keep the change for the trip. Turning back to face the store the front of the store, I couldn't help but laugh as I saw Lugia looking up at the stores logo in awe and fascination.

Laughing a bit I walked up and placed my hand on her shoulder. "I know that you're eager and everything, but try to remember that you need to keep your appearance up. Otherwise we'll have to leave."

"Awe, but you promised that if I was good that I'd be able to get something yummy here." She turned to look up at me and gave me the pleading/puppy look but I wasn't going to bend on something like this.

"Then make sure that you..." I stopped in mid-sentence as my arm gave a slight twinge and I knew that I didn't have long before the shot would wear off. "Just get a few things and we can come back some other time when I'm feeling a little better." That pause was what caused her to look up at me and the twinge was what really caught her eye.

"Alright, you don't have to worry, I'll be quick." To which she took up my hand and the two of us entered the store. Not being able to really move all that quickly as that would deplete the serum that was in the shot, the two of us stopped at the kiosk and asked for some assistance. Lugia looked up at the guy and rattled off several things that if you were not a computer guy that you'd be as lost as I had been. After a few minutes of running around Lugia had a small selection of computer parts/components/etc. at the bottom of a small carrying basket. I'd been surprised that she knew so much about computer parts and such but even more-so when I checked the prices. Each of the components looked like they'd run up or take a large bite out of my wallet, but as I looked at the price tags of each they turned out to be quite inexpensive.

By the time we'd gotten back to hotel the effects of the shot had finally worn off and the pain from the re-located shoulder began to come into play. I think the only thing that proved my saving grace from the pain that would've crippled another person was the fact that most of nerves were so spread out and that lessened the pain. Sitting down upon the bed I leaned against the headboard and sighed in defeat. "Here, the doctor said that this will help." Lugia said as she presented me with some kind of pill and a cup of water. I knew that she was trying to help, and that I should refuse the water, but at that point I really didn't care if I was going to get sick.

One thing that I learned early in my trucking career was that not all water is the same. When I'd been young and foolish, I'd taken a drink out of a water fountain in another state and had gotten pretty sick for three days. I'd found out that each state has different methods of purifying their water, and if you're not careful your body will get sick from that method. With a smile and a nod I accepted the pill and water, and then downed the whole thing together. Once I'd taken that I knew that I wouldn't have that long before the effects of it would knock me out and I turned and smiled to Lugia. "I'll probably call it a night. So don't be surprised if I don't wake up till morning."

"Are you sure that you'll be alright?" She asks in a worried tone, to which I give her a sleepy smile/nod and with that I could see her fear quickly pass into one of ease. With a smile she climbs into bed with me, leans against my good shoulder, and snuggled into me there under the covers that I hadn't realized that I gotten under. Wrapping my arm around her and pulling the blanket up a little more over us, I slowly allowed the medicine to take my consciousness and drifted off to sleep. It was strange to feel someone falling asleep against you, even more-so knowing that that person really isn't a person at all, but I didn't focus on that as I knew that I could trust the person that was using me as their own pillow.

I was awakened to the sound of something crunching and as I opened a single eye to find out what'd rudely awoken me, I saw Lugia sitting down upon a chair next to the bed, snacking on what appeared to some kind of circuit board that was covered in what appeared to be some kind of soldering wire goop. I wondered to myself if this were some kind of awkward dream, but when I realized that Lugia was now back to her original coloring and only sporting what appeared to be her swimming outfit, I knew that this was definitely not a dream I wanted to have at the moment so I decided to get up and pinch myself to wake up. When I'd done so and given myself a good pinch, to which I winced at visibly, I knew that I was now awake and that what I was seeing was not a dream. Slowly pushing me upright so that I was sitting up I looked at Lugia who appeared to be finishing off her little treat. "Just think of it like crackers and cheese, just made out of computer parts." She said with a bit of a giggle, only to cover over her face a little more of a giggle when she saw the strange expression on my face at her explanation of her...meal.

"How long have I been out?" I asked her as I reached up and lightly rubbed at my eyes.

"Oh, I'd say about a good five or six hours. You looked really tired and I didn't want to wake you up. Sorry if I was a bit loud." She then popped the final tidbit into her mouth and kissed each of her fingers, as if hoping to get off any remaining crumbs...computer bits that she'd missed.

"That's alright, I'm pretty sure that I've had enough sleep." Ever so slowly I turned in the bed and lowered my feet to the ground, only when I looked over to Lugia I saw her looking down and a visible blue like coloring begin to color where a normal person would blush. "What's wrong? Is there something..." I followed the line of sight that she had and upon looking at what she was looking at, I saw that some time in my nap, I'd lost all my cloths and was now giving her a front row, unobstructed view of my manhood. 'What the F....' "LUGIA!"
