#5 of The Silver Dragon

Sky rummaged through the First aid equipment, being careful not to cut his hand while he made a mental list of the useful items. The First Aid consisted of mostly bandages, plasters, disinfectant wipes, some scissors and a few safety pins. Lucky for Sky; there was a few tubes of burn cream in there as well.

So he prepared to go to work. First he had to remove the dragon's torn clothing. He was a little embarrassed to do it, and didn't want to make him or the dragon uncomfortable, but it had to be done. How else was he going to apply the burn cream and bandages? So he carefully pulled up the dragon's shirt, trying to keep the amount of discomfort it felt to a minimum.

He couldn't help but admire the dragons amazing stature. He focused his mind, removing the random thoughts. Next came the awkward part; removing the dragons trousers. He carefully unzipped the torn jeans, blushing as he did so.

"If anyone saw me, they'd think I was some sort of perv," He thought to himself. He then smiled, "Then again if anyone did see I think they'd be a little more worried that there was a dragon in here."

He looked away as he undid them and slid them off; he didn't want to make it more awkward then it had to be. But he couldn't help but notice the dragon's rather large bulge. "Wow..." he thought to himself. He slapped his cheeks, in an attempt to rid himself of these thoughts. "No more wasting time!" He thought and focused his mind on the treatment as he picked up the disinfectant wipes.

He unpacked them and carefully sterilized the cuts and burns covering the dragon's body, being as gentle as he could and tried to avoid revisiting the most painful areas. Once he was sure they wouldn't become infected he grabbed a tube of burn cream and squeezed its contents into his hands. The cream itself was a whitish gray and felt thick and gloopy. He massaged it gently into the burnt areas of the dragon body, all up his arms, legs and torso. He felt the dragons toned body while he was doing this and his face went red; especially when he got to the torso. The dragon had a kind of cross between a swimmer and a track runner's body, perfectly toned and smooth but not overly muscular. Sky couldn't understand why these things kept popping up in his head and pushed them out as he continued to apply the burn cream.

When he had finally finished he let out a sigh of relief. He then carefully but quickly bandaged over the cuts and burns that covered its body, to keep the poor dragon from bleeding to death. Once he was happy the bandages were on correctly and that the dragon wasn't going to die from poor medical treatment; he slumped into the chair in front to his desk and let out a sigh. He felt really exhausted; even though it had only been just over an hour since this all began. He wearily glanced over to his clock,

"7:45...great gotta leave for school in 15 minutes."

He jolted as something suddenly occurred to him. He couldn't go to school today; who would look after the dragon? And what if his uncle found him!? He was sure his uncle wouldn't let him keep a dragon in his room, and Sky certainly didn't want to cause the dragon any more pain.He decided on a course of action. He had to convince his uncle that he was sick, and couldn't attend school for at least a few days. He needed this to work or else the dragon might take a turn for the worse.

He left his bedroom and briskly walked down a small, wooden flight of stairs to the bottom floor where his uncle's room situated. He knocked on the door, but there was no reply. So he knocked again. This time he heard a grunt and some movement. Then a shout boomed through the air, originating from behind the door,

"What do you want?! I'm sleeping! Just go to school you loser"

That was defiantly his uncle, harsh even at the start of the day.

"Probably has a hangover," Sky thought. This was actually good, for once; because he wouldn't want to talk much. He then, putting on the best sick voice he could, replied, "*cough* I...I can't go in to school today.... I think *cough* I think I'm sick..."

His uncle showed to signs of even remotely caring as he simply responded

"Fine, whatever just stay in your room or something- just don't bother me."

Then there was a slump and Sky guessed that his uncle fell back asleep. He was actually glad for once his uncle didn't care about his wellbeing, well sort of.

He went back up the stairs and returned to his room. He slumped back on his chair again and just watched the dragon for a while. It looked so peaceful, sleeping as if nothing could disturb him. Apparently this wasn't true as the dragons expression suddenly changed from one of peace to one of pure agony. Sky leapt up to see what was wrong. It looked like it was in intense pain, but who wouldn't be with injuries like that?

Sky darted down stairs and back into the bathroom, where he snatched up a box of pain killers and a glass of water. He then darted back up the stairs as fast as he could without spilling the water and burst into his room. The dragon was squirming around with that painful look on his face that made Sky shudder. He sat by its side and gently rubbed its head and repeatedly whispered,

"It'll be fine."

Once it calmed enough he put the painkillers in the water and held it in front of the dragon's mouth.

"Drink this and you'll feel better."

He slowly poured the water into the dragon's mouth, being careful not to pour too much. The dragon seemed to understand as it swallowed the water as greedily as it could in its condition.

"Now please, rest..." He whispered and carefully rested the injured dragon's head against the pillow. Its expression was back to one of pure peace, this made Sky happy, he was glad he could make another being feel better. Glad that the dragon was feeling better, he slumped back into the chair and began watching the dragon again, until he felt his eyelids slowly close and fell into a deep, restful sleep.

Silver found himself standing alone in a strange, dark void. The only light he could see was around him, other than that he was in complete darkness. He was scared, he had no idea where he was or how he got there. Suddenly he heard footsteps approaching him and his heart began to beat wildly.

He couldn't discern the location of the footsteps; they seemed to be coming from all around him. A figure stepped forward just enough for Silver to see it. He gasped as he instantly recognised the stranger, "It's you! But ho-"before he could even finish the ominous black flames blazed up and danced around him, leaping up and streaking across his body. He tried to scream out in pain, only to find he couldn't speak. So he closed his eyes, there was nothing he could do. He stood and accepted his fate; he didn't have anything to miss anyway, no friends, no family, nothing.

Just as he was about give in another strange figure just appeared out of nowhere. Silver opened his eyes and was shocked to see a teenage human boy standing beside him.

The strange teen was bathed in a beautiful light and reached out a hand towards Silver, who retreated at first but looking at the boy; he got a feeling of safety and reassurance. So he let the strangers hand reach towards him and it gently laid itself upon his scruffy hair. The glowing teen stroked his hair and whispered things to him; things of kindness and concern. He felt safe and for once; happy.

This stranger appeared and saved him from certain death, not only that he was comforting him as well. Silver couldn't be happier than he felt right then, knowing that someone was there for him and helping him through this bad time.

He looked up to see what his saviour looked like and stared straight into the teenagers eyes, he was instantly mesmerised. They were the most beautiful shade of sky blue, and promoted safety and concern. He just straight into them, they were as beautiful as the sky itself and he couldn't look away, he didn't want this feeling to end.

But he could feel himself drifting off, who wouldn't though? Being bathed by such feelings of happiness made him want to spend eternity laying, right there. Finally there was someone who cared about him. One word came to Silver's mind and he constantly repeated it before he drifted off into a blissful slumber. He had a strong feeling it was important.

"Sky.....Sky..........Sky............

A Strangers Request

There was a brief silence. Then the stranger; or Light as he had introduced himself, took a deep breath and faced Sky. Light was very tall, much taller than Sky; and garbed in a suit of full, heavenly white armour that was made of a strange, unearthly...

Dragon in my room!?

"BEEP! BEEP!" Sky looked at his alarm, "6:30..." Sky sat up and sighed, "Another day....but I'm sure today will be better!" Sky said that same thing to himself everyday but it was always the same, but he refused to give up, if he stayed...
