Outside Forces
Hey, remember these two? Well, if you don’t, you can check out the earlier stories in the series. Maybe there will be more? Well, I have ideas, but no implementation at the moment. But we’ll see!
OBLIGATORY CONTENT WARNING: This story contains sexual acts between two males, size difference, mild cum inflation, and ugly displays of racism.
“You’re kidding me.”
“I wish I was.”
“They threw a fucking bug bomb through your window?”
“I couldn’t believe it. I barely got out of there in time...was lucky enough that I hadn’t unpacked my bag yet, so I had something to carry out in a hurry.” Gaz let out a heavy sigh. “The guy they brought in says that the chemicals should break down in a few days and that I shouldn’t have any permanent damage...all my food should be protected by its packaging and by being in cupboards and such, but I should wash my dishes as a precaution. And they tried to spin it by saying I wouldn’t have any pests any time soon...yeah, real helpful.”
“Shit.” It had been a shock to Ken when the blue dragon had shown up at his place out of the blue, carrying a bag and looking completely frazzled, asking to spend a few days at his place. Now they were sitting at his table, and he was getting the full story, one that had him horrified. “You called the police, right?”
“My apartment manager did. They’re investigating, but they’re not sure they’re going to be able to pin it on anyone. But, they have a guess...there were a bunch of people seen running away, and a few of the locals recognized them. Said they’re part of the Order Mammalia.”
“Shit.” Ken knew that name all too well; they were one of the biggest mammalian supremacist groups in the country, and they had an active gang in the city that routinely harassed non-mammal anthros, with reptiles being especially prominent targets. Ken had taken some heat from one of them for just being seen with Gaz; he shuddered to think of the reaction if he’d known they’d been fucking. “The police have been trying to deal with them for a while, haven’t they? It’s like they keep multiplying like flies.”
“Yeah. It’s like they have multiple branches, one that funds them, one that just protests and harasses, and one that actually pulls stunts like this. The police have trouble tying them together because they go through so many middlemen. I don’t hold out a lot of hope for any better luck this time.”
“No kidding. Do you think it was random, or do you think you were targeted?”
Gaz hesitated. “I think...I think they knew what they were going and who they were going after.”
“Damn, so they’re probably not done with you...you think you just looked like an easy mark or something?”
“It...might be more complicated. I think they might’ve found out that I...er, may have spent a bit of time on the, uh, Birthright site…”
“You...what? You were on...Birthright?” That was another familiar name, a reptilian supremacist website that had a rather checkered reputation of its own. Hearing that Gaz had spent time on it...well, it wasn’t exactly a nice thing to hear. “Should I be wondering what you were doing looking at a site like that?”
“I was just curious, I swear. I don’t buy into their shit, hell I’m dating a human and that would get me flayed alive by them. It was just, I got a text from a friend who said he saw a ‘hilarious’ topic on their forums and told me to go there...I did, and I looked at a few other topics and some of the articles on the main site, just to know what the hell they were on. Their shit got old really fast, it’s not even good for entertainment value, so I took a hike and haven’t been back. But I’m guessing the Order Mammalia hate reptilian supremacists most of all, and they thought I was one of them. Not sure how they found out but they might be keeping tabs on visitors...or, they might have hacked the site, I heard something about that a while back but I wasn’t sure about it...”
“I’m just glad you weren’t taking them seriously. I wouldn’t expect you to, you’ve always been a reasonable guy, but...well, you hear something like that, you want to make sure. But...do you think anyone might’ve followed you?”
“I don’t think so. They were doing a hit-and-run, I don’t think they were itching to stick around. And I doubt they’re going to come after you, they might have pulled my IP or something from the site but they don’t know who I associate with. We should be safe here.”
Ken nodded. “I hope so...I’ll be keeping an eye out anyway. But as long as you’re here, we should at least enjoy ourselves...try to not let them make us paranoid. I don’t want to spend the whole night spooked.”
“Neither do I, I want to be as un-spooked as possible. Maybe we can watch a movie or something, get our minds off of this?”
“Yeah, I’m game for that. We can search for one on Netflix...you want one that’s good that we can enjoy sincerely, or a bad one that we can enjoy ironically?”
Gaz smiled slightly. “Let’s go for the bad one. I feel like a good laugh.”
Gaz’s mood had significantly improved after a couple terrible movies, enough that it almost started to feel like a typical sleepover for them. They didn’t entirely forget the circumstances that caused them to share time together, but it sort of faded into the background as the presence of the other brought them peace.
Of course, it got less peaceful but no less distracting when the human started to finger his slit after the second movie finished. Holding Ken close always brought that risk, though that was hardly disincentive for Gaz. Sometimes it was just idle playing that wasn’t meant to lead to anything, but when Ken persisted and started to fish the growing erection out of the dragon he knew where things were going. And he decided to encourage them the best way he knew how - by sweeping up Ken in his arms and carrying him to his bedroom, where he could fuck the human with abandon.
Once inside the human’s bedroom, things proceeded quite quickly. Gaz’s cock was already fully erect by the time he could finally shuck his constricting shorts, the tip having poked well up over the band. The heavy organ flopped down as the fabric confining it was discarded, leaving him ready far more quickly than Ken, who had a few more garments to dismiss from his frame. He could see a hard-on tenting his boyfriend’s shorts before they were removed from him, exposing his own arousal...he’d probably been hard well before Gaz had been, the way he’d been teasing the dragon. Such a state needed quite a deal of relief, which he intended to provide.
He got on his knees on the bed, as Ken finally made himself nude to his dragon and offered himself. His head was right under Gaz’s crotch, and he was raised up to lick at the girthy shaft over him before Gaz was even in position to return the favor. Gaz could only smirk as he brought himself down over Ken’s groin, using his long tongue to start pleasuring his boyfriend...Ken was always so eager to get to things, often the instigator of their fun, not that he minded that. He himself tended to prefer a slower approach, but he wasn’t at all minding the energy that Ken brought to their sessions.
The mutual oral was a bit tricky for them, given how much bigger Gaz was in every way. The dragon was sort of hunched over so that Ken could pleasure the head of his cock while he engulfed the humans’ entire length in his muzzle, rapidly bobbing and slurping over it while his tongue slathered dragon spit over his testicles. There was no way Ken could match him for coverage, he was simply too big for the human to get more that the head in his mouth, but it was merely foreplay for the real fun for both of them anyway. He teased Ken here and there by pushing down a bit, as if he was going to try to thrust in, though he never did, simply enjoying the warm mouth’s presence on his sensitive cocktip as it started to leak some precum into the human.
He could feel Ken starting to buck into him, though, a sign that he was getting close. And the perfect time for him to pull off, relieving the human of the pleasure and stimulation just as he was reaching the point of no return. Ken took that as a sign to pull off, panting as he recovered his air from the thick staff that had been occupying his mouth and tinging every breath with thick dragon musk. “One of these days I’m gonna...be able to get off before you pull away…”
“And then you’re not gonna be able to cum from me pounding your ass,” teased Gaz.
“Maybe that just means you’ll have to work extra hard for it.” Ken was scrambling underneath Gaz, rotating himself so that he was face up in the same orientation as the dragon, spreading his legs and offering his rear for that massive dragon pole. “Well, if you have a plan, you’d better get to it quick, while I’m all hot and bothered.”
“With pleasure.” Gaz lowered himself and lined up with that tight pucker, and with a hand on Ken to keep him stable, plowed forward. Ken let out a deep groan as he was rapidly filled with that familiar tool, feeling the knot smack up against his cheeks quite speedily. By this point in their relationship he had little trouble taking Gaz, even at this speed and force...his body knew just how to take that thick tool with so little trouble, he was surprised that it hadn’t deformed him in any way. Something about the magic dragons still possessed, he’d heard, though Gaz was hardly one for magic in any significant way. Ken didn’t care so much about the reason, though, as he did the fact that he could handle his boyfriend at his roughest.
Gaz didn’t go very gentle when he didn’t have to. He was never like an uncontrolled wild animal, even when he did go harder he was very controlled and deliberate, but Ken could totally get into that very deliberate hard ride. And Gaz was doing just that, drawing out and driving in at a fierce clip, smushing that knot up against him like he was trying to tie him already. He grabbed the bed with one arm and Gaz with the other, trying to find ways to brace himself as he shifted uncontrollably under the potent assault, his prostate getting a familiar beating and pushing him rapidly to the same edge he’d just been pulled from.
And there was no way Gaz wasn’t feeling it, the way Ken was squirming under him. The human was just so much more active when he’d just been teased to the very breaking point and pulled away, it was the reason he loved giving Ken some priming down there before fucking him. He growled a bit as he ramped it up, trying to get Ken blowing as soon as possible, working himself into almost a frenzy as he drilled in and out, his thick shaft getting massaged endlessly by those tight walls.
Ken was bucking now, back arching every time he was filled and his hot button got prodded, squirts of pre jetting onto Gaz’s scales here and there before splattering down around his groin and stomach. He was so close he could almost taste it, was almost going to beg for it except he couldn’t get any words out, just incoherent cries that spoke volumes in their own right. It was so much better when he’d just been the victim of Gaz’s teasing, he could feel that throb like he was on the verge for so long…
When he finally went over, it felt like tumbling off a cliff into the water, it wracked his whole body as he cried out, shooting forcefully into the air to make a mess of both of them as he thrashed on the bed underneath Gaz. And that was just what Gaz was waiting for, as he took a tight hold of Ken and with a snarl let loose a barrage of forceful thrusts into the human, culminating in breaking his knot through the clenching ass and pinning it inside Ken, before a half-roar announced his own deluge. His thick seed flushed through Ken’s bowels, splashing deep and making him feel so intensely full...he always thought he might get blown up from the amount of seed that was being packed into him, though he’d never seen that happen during their encounters. The feeling, though, was incredible enough, adding to his own orgasmic high and keeping him on cloud nine for so much longer.
The next best part, though, was always afterwards, where Gaz wrapped around him and pulled him close, holding Ken against his scales and sharing his warmth as they remained tied together. With the dragon’s knot proving entirely unpredictable, they were never in a hurry to wait for it; indeed, on one encounter they had remained tied in excess of two hours, while on another it had scarcely been three minutes - apparently, a common complaint among the knot-bearing dragons. So they rarely tried to plan around it, and just let nature take things as it would, and enjoyed their company together while waiting for it. Of course, on this occasion, they’d probably be asleep before that, anyway.
“Mmh...you feel so good, Ken...I’m so goddamn lucky you’re a size queen…” Gaz mumbled sleepily. “Can be tough for a dragon like me to find a partner…”
“Heh, I owe it to you, I never knew I was one until you stuck yours into me. Feels like being a virgin all over again every time…” Ken rubbed Gaz’s side, sighing contentedly. “Yeah...I think I’m ready to try a, uh, a threesome partner.”
“Ah...that sounds great,” Gaz replied, sounding more subdued than he felt. It was definitely another level of ease Ken felt with him if he was accepting that...he never wanted to pressure the human about it, but he definitely had been wanting the experience again. “I’ll make sure you enjoy just as much as I do, I promise.”
“Heh...I’m holding you to that.” Not that Ken had any real fear.
“You’re sure there’s not going to be trouble there?”
“Gaz’s pretty sure they don’t know anything about me, so I should be fine. I’m worried about him going back to his place, though...he’s on their radar now, I don’t know if he’s going to be safe there.” Which was one reason Ken was calling his father, Parish. Gaz’s safety, as well as his own, were at least imperiled, and he wanted someone to know what was going on in case something worse happened. He sure as hell couldn’t call his mother.
“Well, if the police do their job...just watch out for yourself, Ken. I know you wouldn’t even think of turning Gaz away, so I’m certainly not going to tell you that you should, but if they’re coming after him...I want you to be thinking of yourself, too.”
“I know, Dad...I’ll be safe, I promise. The two of us are going to try to keep a low profile for a bit so that we don’t draw the wrong kind of attention.”
“Good. If you feel like there’s any danger, head over to a friend’s house. Or come here, I can tell you for sure that Gaz would be welcome. Just, you know, try to keep from making the bed creak too much.”
Ken groaned a bit, putting a hand on his head. While his father’s acceptance was a very welcome thing, it was still embarrassing to hear him bring things like that up. “Dad…”
“Hey, I’m your father, it wouldn’t be right for me not to make your face red here and there. If you think that’s bad, wait until I break out the baby pictures.”
“At least wait until like the second or third visit.”
“You’re asking an awful lot of your old man...er...hang on...give me a second, Ken.” The phone suddenly went down, and Ken waited with a bit of confusion. He couldn’t hear anything clear over the other end, but it sounded like his father was starting to shout, and that bothered him because he rarely heard Parish get mad...except for when he was trying to talk to his mother, Marlene. And he could hardly blame him for that, Ken himself had trouble keeping a civil tongue with her.
Eventually he heard the shouting stop, and the phone get picked back up. There was indistinct mumbling on the other end. “Is something wrong, Dad?”
“Very wrong. Ken, that was your mother. She told me...she was in your city. She got your address somehow. She’s coming to see you.”
Ken’s stomach plunged in horror. “WHAT?! How...I never told her!”
“She didn’t say, but she sounded...worse than usual. Crazy, maybe…it was like she was throwing it in my face, because I wouldn’t give her any info about where you were living. The way she sounded, it was...disturbing.”
“Son of a bitch...she knows how I feel about her and the way she acts and thinks! Why won’t she leave me alone?”
“I don’t know, but...Ken, I know you haven’t talked with her much, but I have to warn you, something’s happened to her. I think it has to do with her new boyfriend...she’s told me he’s been very ‘enlightening’ about the threat of certain anthros. If he’s anything like the ones that were after your partner...try to keep her from finding out you have a dragon staying with you, I don’t want to think about how she might respond.”
“I’ll make sure nothing happens, Dad. Thank you so much for warning me...I gotta tell Gaz. I’ll call you later.” He hung up the phone and immediately headed to the other room, where the dragon was noshing a bit, not looking particularly worried about anything. Ken hated having to break that peaceful mood after everything that had happened, but he knew he didn’t have a choice.
The grim expression on Gaz’s face certainly didn’t make it easier to handle. “Fuck...you think she’s going to cause trouble?”
“She does nothing but these days. It’s why I never told her where I was living, not even what city...she has my phone number but I usually don’t answer it when she calls. But if she’s trying to come now, it means she wants to pester me, she would call if she wanted to apologize or make up.”
Gaz groaned, then stood up. “Great. I guess I’d better get dressed in something. You have any idea what you’re going to do? I mean, I’ll try to hide, but…”
Ken shook his head. “Honestly, I’d rather just not confront her, period. If she can’t reach me maybe she’ll give up for a while, and I’ll probably have to deal with it eventually but I’m just not in the mood at the moment. We should just leave. If she’s knocking on the door, and no one answers, maybe she’ll think she’s got the wrong place or something. She might try calling and I can mislead her…”
“Ken? I think we’re too late for that.” Gaz was looking out the window, and Ken hurried over. There was a car approaching, and he could see Marlene in the passenger seat, driven by a man he didn’t recognize.
“Fuck! Well, so much for leaving…”
“Maybe we should just be up front? I mean, if she forces her way in, she’s gonna find out either way. I can tell her-”
“I am NOT telling her that you’re my boyfriend. I will not paint a target on you like that. If she sees you, you’re...a friend.”
“...Well, I guess, though I don’t know she’ll be any happier with that.”
“Probably not, but she’s less prone to violence that way. I don’t trust that she won’t try to grab a knife and come at you.”
Gaz nodded. “Fair enough. I’d rather that didn’t happen myself. Should I…?”
“Just...stay there. I’m gonna try to make certain she knows she’s not welcome before I let her find out.” Just as he finished saying that, he heard a sharp knocking on the door. No more time to prepare...he stepped up to the door, not opening it yet. “I know it’s you, Marlene, you’re not welcome here.”
“Open the door for your mother, Ken! I haven’t seen you in ages!”
“There’s a reason for that! I told you I didn’t want you in my life until you changed your attitude! We’ve talked about this a bunch of times.”
“Ken, please! I just...want to say hello! I want to say hi to my son!”
It frustrated Ken to no end, he knew she wasn’t going to stop at that, but he couldn’t think of a good way to get her to go away on such short notice. He opened the door, looking at her darkly. “Fine. Hi. I’m not inviting you in, though. You stay out here.”
“Why won’t you let your own mother in? Is there something you’re trying to hide?” She did everything she could to look past Ken and into the apartment. It took all of a second for her to register the sight of the blue dragon, and when she did, her eyes opened wide and she let out a theatrical gasp. “Oh my goodness! What on earth is this BEAST doing in your apartment?”
“He’s a friend of mine, mom, and for fuck’s sake don’t call him a beast. His name’s Gaz.”
“Nonsense. He’s not a friend of anyone, he’s a beast who should be kept caged up. Haven’t you been reading? Their kind are the cause of our problems, they make trouble for everyone. They’re involved in gangs, hate movements, and terrorism! If he’s threatening you, I can get him out of here for you, I know just how to deal with these monsters-”
“Fucking hell, mom, shut up! If anyone’s being threatened it’s him, he was just attacked a few days ago!”
“Well, I’m sure he deserved it. I don’t know what’s going on here but I don’t want you associating with these things. I just don’t understand, why do you spend all your time around lesser creatures like this? I really think you should come home with me and we’ll get you set up in a nice human community, with none of these beasts around to cause trouble. You’re not doing anything important here anyway, you’ll be able to realize your full potential in the right environment.”
It was a stunning thing for Ken to hear. He knew his mother had issues with non-humans, she’d had those attitudes for a long time, but this level of fanaticism about it...that was very new. “The only person going anywhere is you. Away from here, and never to return. I don’t want your racist crap anywhere near me.”
“Ken, please listen to me! Why won’t you listen to your mother? Is he keeping you prisoner? Is he making you serve him? I can take you away from him and back to safety-”
“I said no! Go away!” Now it was Gaz’s turn to be shocked at a rare angry outburst. Not that he blamed Ken in the slightest, he wanted to say many things that she wouldn’t appreciate...but that was likely to just make the situation worse. Unfortunately, it decided to get worse with or without his involvement.
“Marlene? Is everything all right?” Suddenly a man appeared in the doorway, putting his arm around Ken’s mother. He was taller and thinner than she was, his face had sharp features with a slightly hooked nose, his hair was dark and short, and he held himself with a very self-important air. As he looked in the apartment, his eyes fell on Gaz and he immediately put on an expression of extreme distaste. Gaz, in turn, felt a violent spike of terror as he spoke. “Was this monster threatening you?”
“Yes! He was threatening me and my son! He’s taken him hostage, he won’t let my dear Ken go!”
“That’s bullshit!” Ken shouted back. “Gaz is my friend and he’s a hell of a lot more welcome here than either of you! I don’t know who the hell you are but I want both of you out of my sight, before I call the police!”
“Ken, please, wake up! This isn’t right, you shouldn’t be protecting him like this! Don’t you see he’s using you, he’s going to hurt you?”
“Lady, you have issues,” Gaz growled with a very shaky voice. “I wouldn’t ever hurt Ken.”
It was frightening how quickly Marlene went from pleading to furious. “You’re a lying monster! You’re lucky I don’t have a gun on me right now!”
“Easy, easy…” The man patted her side comfortingly, though he still shot disgusted glowers into the room. “We’ll deal with this later...I’m sure we can make Ken come around, and he won’t have this thing causing him any more trouble.”
“The only people causing trouble here are you two,” Ken said coldly. “Get out of my sight.”
The man glared back at him without any fear. “All right, we’ll leave...but you should know better than to be palling around with these kind. Trouble has a way of finding them, and when you’re caught in the crossfire, you’ll regret ever associating with them. I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough.”
The two finally started walking away. Ken could hear them muttering to each other, but shut the door and blocked them out. He turned back to the dragon, who had sank onto the couch, looking almost like he’d seen a ghost. “You okay, Gaz?”
“No, I’m not. That guy...I saw him. His picture. On Birthright.”
Ken did a double-take. “Wait, what?”
“They had a list of Order Mammalia members, dossiers on them and what they’d done. Basically a hit list. He was one of them, Prentice Roquette. He’s a financier and wanted in a couple of church bombings. He’s a known criminal, and he’s got power...if he gets in touch with any of his guys, they’ll know exactly where to look for us. What he was saying, that was a threat...I’ll bet anything he’s going to try to sic his goons on us as soon as he can.”
“Motherfucker…” The human’s hands balled into fists. “We can’t just stay here. We need to do something. Come on, let’s go.”
“Go? Where? I’m not ready for a trip out of the city-”
“We’re not going out of the city. We’re following my mom.”
“You can’t be serious.”
“I am. She knows where I live, she knows where my dad lives, and someone knows where you live. There’s no real safe place we can go. So there’s only one possible way we could get out of this without violence: we follow them to wherever they’re staying, and call the police. If he’s wanted, they’ll be very interested in getting a hot tip about his location. And if my mom’s done anything to help him, then I’ve got no problem sending her up shit creek either. But if we don’t hurry they’ll be out of sight too soon and we won’t be able to track them, and then I don’t know what we can do.”
“Ngh...okay, I’m with you. Hopefully we’ll be able to get out of this unscathed.”
“Won’t know until we try. Let’s roll.”
Tailing another car wasn’t something either Gaz or Ken had experience in, making it a riskier ploy than it might otherwise have been. Ken took the wheel, figuring he’d be less visible if his mother or her boyfriend noticed a tail. Though, he didn’t really want to be noticed either...not with the man from Order Mammalia who was already wanted for multiple crimes sitting in the vehicle.
So they kept their distance, just trying to keep the car in sight as it moved in front of them. They didn’t seem to be doing anything to avoid being detected, which was one plus, but Ken wanted to be sure neither one suspected anything and so kept a car between him and his pursuit at all times - a risky move that he knew could backfire badly on him. There were a couple of close calls, cars shifting out of lanes late, and he nearly clipped another vehicle trying to keep tabs on his target. In the back seat, Gaz was doing his best not to say anything, but the white-knuckled grip he had showed plenty of nerves, either about just the pursuit or Ken’s less-than-fantastic display of driving skills.
But somehow they made it through, apparently undetected. And when the car carrying Marlene and Prentice pulled into a motel, Ken turned off into a parking lot across the road. They watched the two go into one of the rooms, making Ken shudder a bit as he tried to avoid imagining what they might be doing in there. “Guh...bad thoughts…”
“This was your idea,” Gaz said with slight admonishment.
“Yeah, and it’s still the right one. Just...probably not a good one, anyway.” He killed the engine and stepped out of the car. The motel was just across the road, but he didn’t really want to go over there and risk being seen. “Guess there’s nothing to do now but call the cops and give them the info.”
“Yeah, but let’s make it snappy. I don’t wanna be out here any longer than necessary.”
Ken nodded and got out his phone, dialing the local sheriff’s office. It didn’t take too long before he got a response, and was able to provide a good bit of information to them - unfortunately not the room number, but he was able to tell them where in the motel they were, which was useful enough. The person at the other end asked them to remain there so they could identify the room more clearly to the officers when they arrived, and Ken agreed.
Gaz didn’t seem enthused about that. “So we gotta stay here?”
“Yeah...is that a problem?”
“I’m just nervous. Some of that guy’s cronies might be hanging around…”
“Oh...I guess I hadn’t thought of that. Hopefully not…I mean, I didn’t come armed or anything. Not that there’s anything I could really arm myself with.”
“Well, I guess that’s what I’m here for.” Gaz stretched out, making sure he was loose enough. “But I’m not exactly a fighter, so...I’m just gonna hope that it doesn’t come to that.”
They were quiet for a couple minutes, not sure what to say between them. Both were more nervous than they wanted to let on...Ken was starting to really realize how much they could be in over their heads, and Gaz was on high alert, anxious about anything that might come out of nowhere to try to surprise them. When the cops arrived, they would probably be safe...but, when was that going to be?
And then Gaz heard something, and turned. “Ken? I think we’ve got trouble.”
Ken turned as well, and his heart skipped a beat. A half-dozen people, three humans, a feline, a canine, and a skunk were coming towards them. None of them were as big as Gaz was, but as a group they were probably more than a match for him...and certainly more than a match for Ken.
“Well, well...what do we have here? A fucking clade traitor?” one of the humans spat.
“We’re...we’re not looking for trouble…” Ken said shakily, knowing full well that that probably wouldn’t mollify any of them. And it wasn’t exactly even true…
“Not looking for trouble? Trouble’s one of those things that can find you whether you’re looking for it or not.” The canine had a doberman-like appearance, and definitely didn’t appear to be the friendly sort. “Like when you show up with a fucking slickskin.”
Gaz tensed up at the slur. “Hey. We’re not doing anything to you.”
“You just being here is an insult to us,” the feline hissed. “You’re kind aren’t welcome here. They’re not welcome anywhere. A relic of history that should’ve gone extinct.”
Shit. They’re definitely mammalian supremacists...probably Order Mammalia. Maybe they’re working with Prentice… “You know that’s a load of crap. I’ve got as much right to be here as you do. Just because you’re racist doesn’t mean I’m a bad guy.”
“Shut up, slickskin,” said another of the humans. “I oughta skin you and wear your hide as a pair of boots. In a just world I’d be given a medal for doing that.”
“I don’t think a just world murders people just for existing.”
“You don’t count as people. You’re a thing. A thing that should be wiped off the face of this planet so its rightful rulers can be unopposed. One less of you right here and now wouldn’t be a bad thing for sure…”
“Don’t you dare hurt him!” Ken said suddenly. The brief moment of energy was quickly quelled when eyes turned on him.
“And you!” the skunk growled, fangs bared at Ken. “Hanging out with one of them! So help me, if you’ve been consorting with him, I’ll take your tainted ass and hang you from a tree!”
“You lay a hand on him and you’ll regret it,” Gaz growled darkly.
“You think you can stop me? I’ve done one of you fuckers in already. You’re nothing, nothing but insects plaguing mammalkind.”
“Yeah, and you know the best way to take out insects is to exterminate ‘em with all the chemicals you can get your hands on!” cackled the first human.
That was a stunner for Ken. Holy shit...they just all but confessed to attacking Gaz. Except they don’t even know it was him...maybe Prentice told them where to look! Man, those cops better get here soon… “You’re...I can’t believe you’d do something like that. You’re sick!”
“The only sick one here is you,” snarled the doberman. “Mammals who betray their own kind for these pieces of shit are no better than they are. Clade traitors have no right to live, not when they threaten the purity of the rest of us.”
“Ken…” Gaz had suddenly come up behind Ken and now was stepping in front of him, putting himself between his human and the six troublemakers. “I don’t think there’s any more point in talking to these people. We should go.”
“Leave so soon?” the second human said with a twisted grin. “The party’s just getting started! We’ve got a dragon to roast, you think we’re gonna just let you go?”
“I think we need to make a statement, boys,” the skunk spat. “Let’s show them how unwelcome they are.” That declaration started a couple of them advancing towards Ken and Gaz, leading the blue dragon to steel himself for a fight. He didn’t see any weapons, but who knew what they had hiding on their bodies for when he least expected it…
“Don’t move!”
The sudden shout rang through the air, turning everyone’s attention towards the direction of the voice. A trio of police officers were rushing forward, hands on their weapons. There was a moment of tense silence, and then the half-dozen scattered, dashing away across the parking lot. As they escaped, Gaz and Ken saw another car moving in the direction of their flight.
“Are you two all right?” One of the officers approached then while the other two got on their radios.
“Yeah...they were gearing up to do something, but they were only threatening before,” Gaz said, sounding incredibly relieved. “I think they might have been involved with throwing a bug bomb through my window yesterday.”
“Most likely, there’s been a string of such attacks around the city in the last couple weeks and suspects matching their general profiles have been sought. Are you the ones who called about Prentice Roquette?”
Ken nodded. “Yeah, that was me. He was...with my mother, they came to my place earlier and we followed them here. They went into the motel across the street, third door from the end of that building.”
“Good. Thank you. You said he showed up at your door earlier? Please wait here, we’re going to want to take statements.” The officer rushed off, and they saw several more cars approaching. Clearly, this was a big deal, bigger than either of them had realized...and, clearly, more dangerous.
“Maybe we shouldn’t have followed, if they’re bring like fifteen armed people to apprehend this guy,” Gaz suggested.
“Maybe...but if he’s that dangerous, what could he have done to us if we’d ignored it?” countered Ken.
“I’m not sure I want to know.”
The heavy amount of personnel turned out not to be necessary. Ken and Gaz watched, again from the car to avoid being seen, as Prentice Roquette was finally apprehended. Once the door was busted down, it went quickly - though Gaz had said that there were warnings about Prentice being armed and dangerous, it appeared he hadn’t been prepared to be caught like this and had gone quietly rather than try to make an unarmed stand. Marlene hadn’t been brought out, but a couple of officers were staying inside and it seemed like they were at least interviewing her.
Afterwards, the two of them gave their statements to the officers, describing what they knew and getting more of a rundown of who they’d just led to capture. It turned out that Prentice had been orchestrating the bug bombings and was planning far worse, planning to use other people he’d recruited to his cause in the city to execute a systematic bombing of reptile-oriented institutions, including a few that Gaz and Ken both had been to more than a couple times. Though the plan was apparently months away from being implemented and might have been found through existing surveillance of some of the suspected Order members, it was nonetheless chilling for the two to hear. Better news was that at least three of the six who had threatened them had been apprehended, and the other three probably weren’t going to get far.
“Man...we really got lucky, from start to finish, didn’t we?” muttered Ken as the officers started to disperse. “Things could have gone badly at any point here...no matter what we did, we were in danger. I really hope that’s the end of it all...I don’t want any more of this in my life.”
“Same here,” Gaz agreed solemnly. “I deal with enough shit from your typical level of asshole, this kinda thing...I really just don’t want any more crap.”
“Looks like there’s at least a little more coming our way, though…” Ken’s eyes spotted Marlene, crossing the street in a hurry and coming their way, looking distraught. It sounded like she wasn’t being charged with anything, that she wasn’t involved in the plots, just a sympathizer. Which wasn’t exactly helping anything as far as Ken was concerned. He still didn’t know where she’d gotten his address, but if she didn’t have any ties to the organization there probably wasn’t anything she could do with the info...probably.
“Ken! Why are you here? Why did you bring that thing? Haven’t I suffered enough?”
Not really, Ken thought grimly. “You aren’t in jail, you should be thankful for that. Why would you hang around a guy like THAT?”
“What do you mean?” Marlene looked shocked and scandalized. “He’s innocent of anything! They’ll see it his way, he was only protecting the soul of our culture!”
“He was a monster that was gonna bomb a bunch of places all around the city! Who knows how many would’ve died? I can’t believe you’d defend that.”
“It’s...it’s not like that! He was just talking!”
“Yeah, like he was ‘just talking’ about making sure I regretted having Gaz in my place. I couldn’t just let that go.”
At that, Marlene’s face went stark white. “WHAT?! You were the one who brought the cops here?!”
“Yeah, I was. Followed you and called them and brought them here. Had to endure some roughs who were trying to get at me, you were lucky I wasn’t killed.”
“I...I can’t believe...you’d do this to me!”
“That’s right, just keep thinking of yourself,” Ken shot back venomously. “Never mind that you threatened to kidnap me and were all too happy to let your boyfriend or his cronies arrange to assault or even kill Gaz and me. It’s all about you, isn’t it?”
“You...why do you even care? He’s not human! He doesn’t matter! He’s an inferior creature that doesn’t matter to anyone! You...you’re betraying your race by protecting them! Why don’t you understand that? They took you from me...”
“No, Marlene. You drove me away with your attitudes towards non-humans. You were the one who made me want to get away from you. And that was before you went full-on crazy and started dating literal terrorists. Did you think that would bring me back to you? I told you what you had to do...you had to accept people and not care who I made friends with and who I dated. If you had done that, I’d’ve accepted you. It’s that simple.”
“But...no, that’s wrong, I shouldn’t have to do that.” She shook her head wildly, refusing to accept what she was hearing. “This...this is all wrong, they aren’t human, they’re just animals, beasts, they don’t have real feelings…it’s not wrong to hate them, they’re inferior, they’re worthless-”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, just shut up!” Gaz snarled angrily. “I’m so sick of hearing your racist bullshit! The world’s moved beyond that, if you can’t deal with that, you’re the one with the problem, not us!”
“Yeah, exactly,” Ken agreed. “You’re totally in the wrong here, and I really won’t tolerate it. If you’re not going to respect me or my friends, you’re not welcome around me. I don’t want you coming to my place again, and if I get any unwelcome guests who start bitching at me about how I hang around with dragons or any other anthro, I’m calling the police on you, because I KNOW who’s responsible for it.”
His mother looked at him despairingly. “Ken...please...listen to me…”
But Gaz was done. He leaned in towards her, and she shrank away in terror. “Listen to me, bitch. I’m Ken’s lover. We had sex just yesterday, and it wasn’t the first time, I fill him full at least twice a week. I care about him more than I care about anything else, and I sure as hell care more about him than YOU do. Because you may be his mother by blood but you sure as fuck don’t act like it. You dare to keep bothering him, you’re going to have to face me as well...and you’d better believe I won’t go easy on you.”
White as a sheet, Marlene cast wild eyes between the two of them and then scampered away without another word, hurrying back across the road and quickly getting into her car. As she sped away almost in a frenzy, Ken cast a bemused look towards his dragon. “I thought we agreed not to tell her that?”
“You said you weren’t going to tell her. I wasn’t going to either, but I decided that was the best way to get her to leave you alone.”
Ken raised an eyebrow at that. “You think she’s going to leave me alone now that she knows that? She’s got to be even more dedicated to fucking things up now.”
Gaz shrugged. “I guess it’s possible, but honestly, I don’t think she will. She’s got some creepy phobia about us and probably thinks we taint everything we touch. Now that I’ve told her I’m having sex with you, I doubt she’ll be able to get it out of her head. She won’t even be able to think about you now without thinking about me, naked, thrusting my knotted cock into your ass. It’s going to terrify her so much that she’ll do anything to avoid having to face that reality...and that means avoiding you as well.”
“Huh...well, I don’t know. You might be right. I hope you are, that’ll be a lot better for us in the long run. Unless she gets involved with some other group...”
“Bet you she’s under surveillance now, so hopefully they’ll catch it before we have to deal with it again. And I’d rather not think about that right now, so...let’s get back to your place. I could use something else to focus on and get my mind off this crap.”
“Fair enough. How about we go back and hop into my bed, and you can fill me a third time this week?”
Gaz grinned and chuckled. “I think that sounds perfect.”
