The Dragons of Summerwind (Preface)
In a land of myth and magic there resides many many races of magical beings that are in need of a hero. A dark shadow as bequeathed the land of Summerwind and the dragons have awoken and are causing terror across the land. The only one that came save them is the mighty Dragonlord, a being from our world that has the powers to commuincate with dragons and tame them. But how is one to find this Dragonlord? Find out in this first epic novel of the Summerwind Trilogy "The Dragons of Summerwind"
This is a story about something that happened long ago when you're Grandfather was still a child. It is a very important story because it shows how all the comings and goings between our world and the land of Summerwind first began.
Within a land untouched by time, where magic ruled reality, and where sorcery was science, there lived the world of Summerwind. This beautiful realm was believed to be created by three of the twelve ancient divines: Oblivion, the creator of mountains, rivers, valleys and forests, Tythean the creator of the races and of the people that reside within the world, and Kythen the Goddess of magic and wisdom, the forger of spells and enchantments.
With the power of these three Goddesses they together forged the land and called it Summerwind. The first race to ever exist was the race of dragons, the mightiest of all the beings. Huge reptilian creatures that could breathe fire and use magic without words or enchantments.
However the time of dragons had abruptly come to an end after the first century had come and passed and they disappeared without a trace.
Tythean then began to forge other races such as the dwarves, elves, witches, wizards, werewolves, vampires, fairies and the race of human like creatures called the Nythendel.
As the world sprouted to life, there came a time when the peoples of Summerwind began to look for a ruler. They knew that their creators could not leave their godly universe to govern the kingdom, so the first battle began.
The feud between the races created two groups with different beliefs, the Shadowvane a group who believed that only a true sorcerer was meant to rule the throne of Summerwind.
The second group, known as the Dreamchasers, believed that only a single group of chosen men known as the Elders should rule the kingdom. The war continued and many lives were lost.
The wars continued and blood was shed upon the soils of Summerwind, and the Goddesses grew angry. As darkness began to descend upon the world, a dark wizard came out of the shadows and cast upon the world a spell which awoke the mighty dragons from extinction.
The dragon's wreaked havoc upon the villages which had burnt down farms and crops, and destroyed towns and palaces, there was, however, a legend that foretold of one single being who could lay the dragons of Summerwind to rest, a being who would obtain magical powers of which he was not yet aware.
In fact, this person does not even come from the world of Summerwind, but from the universe parallel to Summerwind, a place called Earth--place where magic doesn't exist. Whether or not Summerwind shall be spared from this dreadful curse will be up to him, who has the power to destroy the lingering darkness and bring peace to the land.
The only issue Summerwind faces was this, how would the mortal come to Summerwind? But fate however had other plans, and so begins a story that will shape the history of Summerwind forever...
