Finally it is here, Chapter three! hope to have chapter four done here by the next two weeks. Sorry for the delay guys... I was kinda busy with life issues :P

Aedial had been curious about his friend's actions ever since he sat down, and remembered that he had begun to say something about running into that green dragon named Astorathen in the hallway. When Fraolith retook his seat next to him, he immediately inquired, "So, you said that you ran into Astorathen in the halls on your way here? What did you say he was again in the DSIU?"

Fraolith nodded and without missing a beat as the speech started he responded, having known his friend would remember about his earlier statement before his speech.. "Yes, his full status there is a Draco Ki General, and he is the highest ranking officer in the DSIU Squadron 217." He smiled and clasped his friend on the shoulder and stated, "You know, he would be the second guardian I have met..." He paused and nuzzled Aedial gently in his friendly way. They always were teased about being mates, but Fraolith and Aedial were just really close friends, almost like brothers. At times he had thought about it, but he was unsure if his friend felt the same.

Fraolith's eyes glazed as he stared off into space. Aedial noticed this snapped his fingers in front of Fraolith and whistled in his face, "Hey Fraolith! You in there bro, talk to me man, you were talking and then just trailed off." Fraolith jolted back to reality from his daydreaming stupor and remembered his previous topic. "Oh sorry, I was daydreaming,"

Aedial grinned and nodded, smiling at his friend as he replied, "Yeah, I figured as much. So anyway, you were saying that Astorathen was the second guardian you would have met. That's a no brainer dude I would have been the first." He chuckled after he finished talking and looked at Fraolith's sullen expression but let his friend speak first.

Fraolith noticed Aedial was done talking so he then resumed his previous train of thought; left to wonder about his thoughts in his subconscious. "Heh yeah, you would be the first guardian I have ever met. Sometimes I just wonder as to why I have all these significant people stumble into my life and I just can't see how I couldn't deserve all this. You know what I mean Aedial?" Fraolith sighed and looked off into the distance once again, the second speaker about fifteen minutes into her speech, and was still droning on about her plans in the DSIU Internal Affairs program. That was the way that people born of dragon blood are integrated into society. They also show to the people in the society that they move into that they are not the deadly ruthless killers that they are often portrayed as on TV, making the transition much easier.

Aedial nodded in understanding and smiled before comforting his depressed friend. He often did this when his Fraolith felt down, and had a knack for knowing what he was feeling. This was the reason that when Fraolith gave his speech, he had mentioned Aedial in his tributes to the people that had affected his life in a positive manner. "Hey man, come on and cheer up a little bit. What is honestly so bad about having good things happen to you all the time? If you move on with life, and look to the future, you can see that better things are ahead and not focus on the negative as much as you tend to do sometimes. Now tell me, what exactly did you get to know about this Astorathen character?"

Fraolith chuckled softly as his smile and happiness crept back out and showed itself. It was the side of Fraolith that Aedial found interesting, quirky, and kind of cute. He nuzzled his friend softly before Fraolith decided to respond, his cheer definitely more apparent than it was before.

"Well I can say that if you want to be on his good side, call him Asto. When we spoke he told me that everyone calls him that, so I guess it's an easier version of his longer name. He was about to punch me after we got tangled together... He seemed so pissed at me." He paused and remembered the snarl that crept onto Asto's muzzle causing him to shudder slightly.

He took a breath and collected himself, then continued, "I was so nervous and shocked that when I tried to talk to him, I couldn't get a word out. Then, all of a sudden, I just felt his muscles relax on top of me, and he just calmed down immediately. It was like he sensed that I was a guardian or something. Another strange fact is that he is one himself, and his mark has been customized by his fighting status or style. He may have tweaked it himself, but whichever the case may be, I actually think it kind of fit him, the way the tiny points came off of the sides. I guess the path we take effects the way the mark grows... Or something to that effect... hehe."

With a shrug and a nervous chuckle, he looked out over the audience and speaker before he continued, "Oh well, there isn't much else to talk about. He seemed interested in me, and if he ends up recruiting me, I might just have to put you in the recruitment deal. I hope he paid attention when I said that I was hoping for you to be my bunkmate in the DSIU."

Aedial grinned and nodded. "Yeah, you and I are partners in crime; you would be lost without me, you're too much of an airhead. Plus you need me to help you wake up on time." He laughed heartily with his friend and clasped hands once again, then without another word he smiled as Rasita finished her speech and returned to her seat. After that the dean returned to the microphone, and gestured to Fraolith, "Now could I have Fraolith return to the podium, I would like to have the Master of Ceremonies present him with an award for his outstanding performance and contributions to the school as a whole. Fraolith, if you would please step forward."

Fraolith had almost forgotten about the award he was supposed to receive, looking around before standing once again and walking to the podium. He took his time and waited for the lights to dim to compensate for his scales once more and as he arrived at the podium, he shook the Dean's hand and then the Master of Ceremonies hand as well. He was a human wearing a Tuxedo and had blonde hair. With a smile he presented a medal to Fraolith, stating with a honorable tone to his voice, "It is my pleasure to present you with the award for your contributions and aids to the DSIU Army School, the Drakira Nasi. It is an emerald pendant shaped into a glorious fire pattern, meant to be a guiding flame for your life ahead, Thank you again for your help and may you be an inspiration to all, humans and dragon bloods alike."

The crowd erupted into more applause as Fraolith shook the human's hand once again and bowed in thanks, turning away and walking back to his seat. As Fraolith sat down next to Aedial, he smiled and nodded as the Dean looked back at the class and smiled, "I hereby give my approval to this class of 2013. It is no more students, but instead strong individuals of society. Congratulations graduates, you may now flip your sashes."

With the word given, the class turned their sashes over from the deep red to a black with iridescent trim, and the whole class roared and sent an array of light bursts into the air. The conflagration of colors lit up the room in a mild light show, before the Dean grinned and shook his head. Looking back at the audience, he stated with obvious authority, "I now begin the diploma and placement ceremony, the Drakindra Teriam. May all of you choose your path well and your footsteps, true and steadfast." He nodded as Asto stood and walked over next to the dean, beginning to read off the names of the graduating class. The process was at least an hour in length; Fraolith and Aedial near the end of the list, both choosing the DSIU Military Branch. After the ceremony was complete, the gathering halls were emptied and everyone returned to their residences, to discuss their plans with family and loved ones. As the lights dimmed, Shamira sighed and turned around, walking away from the booth and heading for Fraolith's residence to see her friends one last time.
