Hey again everyfur. It is time for Chapter Four! I have finally gotten the time to post it and I am so happy that I could. Anyways... Here is chapter four. I decided to make a little more plot development in this chapter. Hopefully soon I can get to the more fun parts of this story series. I also hope I don't end up putting it on the back burner again like i used to do as well. Please comment and, again, I hope you enjoy my story. :3

P.S. Edit is just small nuances in the minor details, along with some small wording mistakes.

Shamira walked through the halls, her deep amethyst purple scales glinting in the fluorescent lights that lit them. She was about 6' 8", had a decent build for being female, yet also had the lithe features that resembled Fraolith. Shamira lacked the special markings or scale color that her friends Fraolith or Aedial did, but what she did have was a glowing set of emerald green eyes that was a subtle but gorgeous offset of her solid amethyst body.

She chuckled and shook her head as she approached Fraolith's residence and heard Aedial and Fraolith already going at it in there, their usual playful bashing and teasing loudly echoing down the hall as she thought to herself, I always tell them that they both should think about dating. Separately of course, but I hope that one of them can gather up enough courage to ask the other. It's no wonder that everyone assumes that they are mates with the way that they act. She smiled to herself before shrugging as she finally decided that they were in some sort of denial that they were dating. She arrived at the door and knocked a couple of times before a "Shush, shush, Shamira is here," was heard from someone on the other side of the door, and the playful jesting went quiet.

The door cracked open as Mirvanda opened the door and smiled at Shamira, ushering her in. "Hello there Shamira. And may I ask how the old girl is doing this fine afternoon?" He gave her a big hug as he shut the door followed by a peck to her right cheek.

Shamira smiled and gave a return kiss to Mirvanda's left cheek as she replied gleefully, "I am doing quite well Mirvanda. Decided to come by and say good luck to the boy. He has had a rough life. If only he knew his true potential..." She paused and looked down at Mirvanda, a grin forming on her maw. She continued, "They wanted to go to the recreation center with me this afternoon, before they get their recruitment letters tomorrow."

Mirvanda simply nodded and asked, "So do you want to go talk to them then? They should be in the living area wrestling around again. Those two should really think about dating the way they act towards each other."

Shamira nodded, chuckling as she patted Mirvanda on the shoulder. "You have no idea how many times I have told them that, separately of course." she replied before she walked into the living area of the residence to see them wrestling around on the floor. One of the two shouted playfully as a yip was heard, "Hey, Let go of my tail! No fair!"

Shamira cleared her throat and suddenly the wrestling mass of blue and silver froze in place. They both looked slowly upwards at the smiling dragoness that jokingly tapped her foot, arms crossed in front of her. Grinning wider and revealing a set of black teeth behind the purple scales, she stated playfully, "Heh, I didn't happen to be interrupting anything was I? Might you need some privacy to deal with those urges?"

Fraolith and Aedial just bowed their heads in embarrassment before untangling themselves from each other. They stood and looked apologetically at Shamira, shifting a bit as Aedial blushed brightly. Fraolith was the first to speak, "Sorry Shamira, we were just wrestling around. You know, like we did when we were younger?"

"Yeah," Aedial nodded in confirmation, before he added, "I mean, can't a couple of friends fool around playfully before we get our recruitment letters?" Aedial grinned and stared at Shamira, a chuckle forming deep in his throat, before the three came together and laughed heartily in a giant, friendly hug.

"So anyway," Shamira patted her friends on the shoulder before looking at Fraolith and licking his cheek softly in comfort, directing her next statement towards him, "I really enjoyed your speech. It was very well done, for not preparing one a few days beforehand. I am honored to have made such an impact on your life. It's not every day that an old and experienced dragoness such as myself gets to make such a significant impact on someone else's life. And at the age of 95 years old, it makes me feel like I have made an accomplishment in my life. One of many I am bound to make in my long years of dragon-hood ahead."

Aedial chimed in, adding his feelings to Shamira's words of thanks, "Yeah! Quicksilver, you did do a great job on the speech. You know though, I can't say I would have done any better of a job on it; In fact, if I were the one giving the speech, I probably would have nuked the audience with a boredom bomb. So I am glad you did a good job," He paused and glanced at Shamira a playful grin forming on his maw before he continued, "And I am about the only one that will keep Fraolith in line, because I had to help him out in many of his personal flaws. Again, thanks for the tribute in your speech Fraolith."

Aedial chuckled, smiling at Fraolith as the group looked at each other, nodding and acknowledging their close bond of friendship. Aedial and Fraolith sat down on the nearby couch, making sure that no tails got sat on in the process. Shamira remained standing, before she sat down where she stood, dropping to a position that looked almost feral save for the smile and caring expression.

With a loud contented sigh, Fraolith looked at the clock on the opposite wall and made a note of the hour. It was about fifteen minutes after two in the afternoon. They had to leave in about fifteen minutes if they were to make it past the students and get the recreation area before closed at four. Before they left, however, he wanted to talk to his friends about a few things hoping they could be ready in time to "beat the rush hour."

They all sat there in silence for a few seconds before Fraolith made the first statement. Stretching a bit and yawning in the process, he mused, "So what will become of us three? Will we still be close knit friends through all of what life throws at us? After all, Aedial and I are joining the DSIU, and we might not ever see each other again. I don't know if I could do that Shamira..." Fraolith paused and looked over at Shamira, a weak smile forming on his muzzle as his eyes seemed to shimmer slightly.

Shamira shifted slightly as she noticed Fraolith's saddened expression. With a graceful flowing motion, she rested her hands on Fraolith's shoulders, before kissing him softly on the forehead. She was stroking his cheek softly and slowly with her thumb as a mother would her child. After wiping away a tear that was sliding down his face, she comforted him by stating gently, "Don't ever let that negative attitude get the better of you. We will see each other more than you think, I am sure of it. In fact," Shamira paused to clasp a paw over his guardian mark, a warm energy permeating her hand, "I am positive we will stay together for a long time. It was fated to be so, ever since you were born."

Aedial smiled as he watched Shamira comfort Fraolith, but shuddered at the thought of being fated to something since he was born. CAN it be true? Could I have been fated to meet Fraolith and Shamira? I didn't even know about her until I met Fraolith. We do seem to have a close connection, and I can't help feeling that Fraolith and I are more than just close friends. I guess perhaps now is as good a time as ever to ask if Fraolith wants to date me. I really care about Fraolith I just hope I don't lock up again... He righted himself and shifted a bit before resting a paw on Fraolith's own and stroked it gently. Fraolith started but he saw Shamira smile and nod gesturing towards Fraolith and a silently mouthed "Go on."

Gathering his composure, he proposed to Fraolith. "Fraolith, I have been meaning to ask you this over the past few weeks. It's just that every time I wanted to ask you I just froze up. Fraolith, uh... umm..." Aedial looked down and searched for the words to say, butterflies seeming to find a home in his stomach just as he wanted to ask the question, even with Shamira standing right there reassuring him.

Fraolith smiled, taking the lead as he kissed his friend's forehead. His earlier thoughts in his subconscious being laid to rest he slid a paw under Aedial's maw, bringing his eyes to meet his own. With a loving smile, Fraolith answered his new boyfriend. "Of course I would date you Aedial. And you don't have to feel left out. I would freeze up too when I wanted to ask you the same question." He chuckled and licked Aedial's cheek before nuzzling it softly.

Aedial sighed in relief and smiled up at Fraolith before he got to his feet and pulled off his gown, the fabric making an audible ruffle as it fell in a heap. Hurriedly he reached into a nearby bag and pulled out a pair of black jeans. "Well if we are gonna go to the recreation center we had better get ready, look at the time. We got to get ready now or else we will be stuck in rush hour for about 30 minutes!" He pointed at the clock before he went to the bathroom to change out of his dress slacks.

Fraolith looked to the clock to see that it was about 2:30 PM, and looked at Shamira. While Aedial was in the bathroom, he inquired, "Did Aedial talk to you as well? I saw you mouth something to him earlier. Looked like the words 'go on' or something."

Shamira smiled and clasped Fraolith on the shoulder, nodding before replying, "In fact he did. And yes the mouthed words were 'go on', and was intended to only be seen by him." She chuckled at the dragon's observance capacity, before she looked at the bathroom, hearing the sink run as Aedial washed up. Its door was still closed, however it opened shortly after and Aedial walked out wearing his custom sunglasses that seemed to reflect like gemstones in the framing plastic.

He gestured towards Fraolith, waving him over in a rushed way a tone of urgency in his voice. "Come on Fraolith get ready! You need to get out of those dress slacks if we can go to the rec center!" He tossed a pair of jeans at Fraolith and hurried to the kitchen to grab a small snack of Cheetos.

With a shrug and a muffled grunt, he stood up and stretched his wings before he walked back to his room to change. Happier thoughts filled his mind now that the issues of Aedial wanting more of a relationship were dealt with. Looking out of his window, he watched as the many inhabitants of the DSIU Army School went about their days duties. He undid his slack and let them fall to the floor with his gown, sliding on the pair of denim jeans that Aedial had thrown him. They were a bit tight as he tried to pull them up over the scales of his legs, but not uncomfortably so. After he closed the clasp on the waistline of the jeans, he walked back out to the kitchen. When he arrived there, his friends were waiting and ready to leave. They all grabbed another quick bite to eat, making sure to wash the dishes they used afterwards. When they were finished, the three walked out the door, and with a soft ker-chunk as Aedial shut the door behind him, they began to walk through the halls of the facility.
