#1 of The Squall

Ok, here is my very first story, so go easy on me. All characters belong to me and, well you get the idea. A bit on the short side but like I said, I'm new.

Edit: Sorry everyone, if there was any confusion with the title. It has been fixed. I also realized that votes were disabled, so that has been fixed as well.

Shaun let out a small grunt as he fell onto the couch, picking up his cell phone as he dilled down the numbers to his friend's house. He was planning on going out to sea to do a little fishing in his small boat. Living in Miami, which is nestled right at the tip of the notorious Bermuda Triangle, others would be a little hesitant on venturing out on the open sea. Shaun, on the other hand, though only at the age of 19, had been fishing in these waters since he could walk.

"Come on Jack, pick up the damn phone you Furry Fan Fanatic" He muttered to himself until he recognized the sound of his friend's voice.

"You have reached Jack's love shack. How can I make you howl?" Shaun contemplated playing along until he remembered why he called.

"K first of all, I don't fly that way. And second, I need to pick up my gear you borrowed a few months ago."

"Oh, hey man. I didn't know it was you. Yeah, I got it all ready for ya. I caught the biggest fish the other day; I swear it would have provided enough food to last for month." He had taught his friend the ways of the rod and was not surprised to get an update every now and then from his friend.

"That's great man. I'll be over in minute"

Shaun hung up the phone and placed it in his pocket as he headed out the door to his car. He knew his friend for about three years and never regretted it. He found out about a month after meeting him, that Jack was a Furry. Shaun had heard all about the fandom and knew a great deal about the furry lifestyle. Though he wasn't one himself he wasn't the type to judge people and was perfectly fine with his friend being a member. In fact a few times he found himself staring in awe at some of the samples his friend had created. So much so, that he had been having thoughts about becoming a member of the community himself.

Jessica looked herself over in the mirror, admiring her figure. She was about 6.5. Her fur consisted of white and grey with a few bits of black here and there, the normal coloration of a husky. Her tail waged happily as she got ready for her day at the beach.

"Do I have everything?" She began crossing off what she had prepared for her little adventure. Swimsuit, which she wore under her shorts and tank top, two beach towels, an extra set of clothes, camera, sunglasses, as well as few other things that all beach goers needed. She began to make a sweep of the house when she stopped at her art desk to take a look at her latest piece.

"Hello there Shaun, caught anything good today?" She said with a smile and a slight blush to her face. The piece she created displayed that of a young 19 year old, about 6 years younger than she. He was about 5' 7'' and was perched on the side of the dock. He had no fur, no muzzle and no tail, perfectly normal for a human. Jessica was part of a popular fandom that had begun amongst the anthro community. It was all about furless beings that were similar yet completely different from anthros. It was known as the smoothie fandom. At first it was relatively small until it caught on and gained immense popularity. Soon animated shows and movies began popping up, featuring these "human" characters, as well as theme park featuring a very cheerful human mascot by the name of Mikey Smooth. There was also a more adult side to the fandom. Many art websites featured human erotica and other types of artwork of the adult nature for people to view. The adult part of the fandom was as popular in not more that what was shown on TV, but was more hidden away so as not to harm the minds of the young.

Jessica blew the picture a kiss as she finished getting ready. It was one her many favorite characters that she had created over the years. As she was getting ready she heard a knock on her window. When she went to investigate she was greeted by the sight her friend Tina, a great white shark.

"Come on you slowpoke, or all the good spots are going to be taken." Tina was a few inches taller, more muscular, but still had a body that can only be described as voluptuous.

"Ok ok, I'll be right there". After taking care of a few more things, she grabbed her belongings and headed out the door.

"Come on in man, I got the kit in the back."

"Take your time." Shaun liked being over at Jacks, as it gave him a chance to explore and check out some of his latest creations. He walked over to the art desk in the corner and began to rummage through the many WIP pieces when something caught his eye. He picked up the piece of art and began to stare in awe. It was that of a beautiful husky anthro that was sunbathing on the beach, in the background, an equally beautiful great white was flirting with a few surfer dudes.

Jack came back to see his friend in a trance and silently tiptoed over to him. When he was right behind him he began to yell loudly.

"HELLLLOOOOOOOO, MY BRAIN DEAD FRIEND!"

It took about 5 minutes for Shaun to regain the color to his skin and about twice as long for jack to stop laughing.

"Yeah, that was really funny. Now can you stop laughing and explain this piece to me?"

Jack calmed down immediately and began to beam, when he realized his friend was showing an increase interest with his work.

"No problem man, that's my latest creation. I know how most people think huskies live were its cold, but if you're like me and everyone else in the furry community, then climate doesn't mater.

"She got a name?"

"Yep, I've decided to name her Jessica"
