One of the first things that Kyn did was greet the rest of the group, followed immediately by calling Bill.

"Hey there Bill... got a bit of a request for ya... involving some of your more.... underground services." Kyn's voice came through the receiver.

"Hold on... let's not discuss this on... this form of communication. Meet me in person at my office in a few hours." Bill responded.

Exactly as requested, Kyn made his way to Bill's Kanto office, in a few hours, but for him, it was literally seconds due to utilizing Miru to create a localized time distortion that also cut the distance from where they were into practically nothing. Kyn paged the front desk of the building, and then told the receptionist that he had an appointment with Bill.

"Now... what was it you wanted to discuss?" Bill asked, placing his fingers together in a manner that reminded Kyn EXACTLY of Royce.

"I would like your help in attempting to rig a particularly special slot machine. I figure you'd be able to help create something in which the machine pays out more than normal, not necessarily paying out the Jackpot though." Kyn said, still steering clear of being specific as to WHERE the slot machine was until he was asked.

"Tsk tsk tsk... cheating in a casino? Shame shame. I'll see what I can do. I'd need to do preliminary scans to determine if the technology would successfully be able to be hacked, or at least altered. Where is this casino?" Bill had asked the dreaded question.

"Ah... it's in an unmarked location that can't be found anywhere on a map except by those whom already know its location." Kyn said.

"So it's one of those then. You'll have to take a scanner with you, and report the data back here." Bill clarified. As far as the underground part of his services went, some situations require that basically not a lot of questions be asked. This was one of these times.

"Excellent. I'll be giving you extra this time if it turns out we can do this. If not, you'll still get your usual fee anyway. Thank you very much Bill." Kyn said, tipping an invisible hat. He left the building with the knowledge that when he returned he'd be on his way to finding out more of the intimate mechanics of how the machine worked. He spent the minority of his time acquiring unbranded cattle Tauros and fish, that he would then be able to deliver.

A few hours later had Kyn receiving a call from Bill with the codeword shipment. 'Your shipment has arrived.' the message read.

Kyn returned to Bill's office and collected the scanner, which he then carefully placed in his pack. It look like a mix between the Isshu Pokédex he had, and a miniature television. The next thing he did was print a large version of the photograph of Serena and the rest of the group. He made several copies and put it several folders so that they would not bend. He want it to be in absolutely pristine condition.

After everything was in place, they went BACK to their previous location in isolation, and then started to do a calibration. Heji went through the portal first, to see how long the much the distortion was. Eventually they did enough testing to calibrate it so that Miru had a general idea of how to create hundreds of different dilations. By the time they finished, Kyn had set it up so that he had gathered what HE believed to be enough initial 'stock' to be able to successfully meet the quota that would be set. A total of twenty days had passed between the two. This time, Miru came through with them via his Luxury Ball, so that Kyn would be able to get back to the other side, and that they wouldn't have to keep the distortion open.

"Twenty days. What a trip. I hope I have enough gathered. It's time to go visit Serena then." He of course, let Heji out, and then they all made their way back to Serena's cave from the halfway point.

Twenty days, falling back into the pattern had been relatively easy, surprisingly. The time of the temporal terraforming had come, and gone, though for some reason the Celebi was hanging around.

"Your friends will be back soon." She kept claiming. "When they do I want to meet them."

Serena kept snorting at her, It hadn't been enough time for the ball to fully regenerate, but she did feel a twinge when they came back through, she told herself it was nothing, at least, for now. "Jasmine...If you insist on meeting them, why don't you just teleport into the future?" Serena had said.

"I can't predict when THEY'LL get here 'cause they're not from here, silly." Jasmine retorted, and finally Serena had withdrawn into her own mind.

/SHE'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!/

Everyone who WAS still connected to Serena felt a faint.... something. They couldn't describe it, but when more than one of them started to talk, it became something that couldn't be ignored... They drew closer and closer to Tao village, and then they began to feel the thing they felt earlier a bit stronger. "It's going to be more than a simple visit. We'll be going to the Casino to scan the Machine after all. Serena said I was on a sort of watch list or something so those two moon things will definitely remember me."

"Kyn... calling them moon things is hardly the best thing. At least TRY to remember their species names." Tensa said with a chuckle.

"Get..." She swiped at the Celebi that was hovering just out of her blasting range. "Down...." another swipe, another miss. "HERE!" This one just barely missed, grazing the Celebi's arm.

"Oww! And you think I want to go down there?" The Celebi retorted, then turned away from her. "Oh, they're here, Yay! I've been waiting months for them to arrive!"

This statement startled Serena to the point that she didn't swipe at her again. "What?" She opened up her mind to suggestion, and snorted as she felt the other familiar mind, she couldn't reach Lacu since she didn't have a permanent link with him, but she could feel Kyn. <KYN? Sacred Void, Jasmine wasn't full of shit after all.> Her claws had faded away from the ghostly purple. "Fine, I apologize, you're right. THIS TIME, flower girl." Clearly she had been out of sorts, her headplates hadn't even completely turned back to being their golden color yet, the bottom half was still greyed out.

<I have a contract Serena. It should be about time for the information on the first task to start arriving, if it hasn't already.> Kyn said, not sure if Serena could hear him. He wasn't used to speaking long distances like this, and Serena had said that it would be weaker than normal.

<Two days ago, I hope you don't mind that I opened it, I figured that if you didn't come back I would fill the order so that it didn't go against your record.> She had walked back into the cave. <About how far away are you? Your voice is rather distant.> She bit into an Oran berry, no sense in going hungry while she waited, at least, not if they were too far away.

<Just outside the west southwestern entrance to Windswept Woods.> Kyn answered. He thought he heard her right. 'if you didn't come back'. That must have been a possibility to her. He wasn't going to mention it to her right away but, the only thing that would be keeping him from coming back would be something wrong with the portal, which there wasn't, thankfully.

<Ah...No wonder then, You've still got about a three hour walk ahead of you.> She didn't ask what she was dying to ask, she didn't mention Heji, but OH she wanted to. <Looking for perspective spots to buy a house on Twigs' territory?>

<I've thought about it and, I really don't need a house. So, now that you've opened it, what exactly have I got to do?> Kyn wondered. He'd tried to cover as many bases as possible with what he'd gathered.

Serena picked up the letter, 'snapshotted' it and sent it along the line to him. <It's not too difficult, well, I suppose that for anyone around here it might be...Tauros is always in high demand, but that one's part of the optional, couple of Shellder--which are easy enough to find even here...> She went on to list different types of meat in different cuts, some of which he might recognize the names of.

<Oh and... I'll be doing some tinkering with Royce's lovely machine too, after a while. I've got enough Tauros for quite a while then I think. I went on a fishing spree, and shopping spree.> Closer and closer they drew until finally the town limits could be seen. Kyn also wrote down the names of the cuts, since most of them he didn't recognize but some he did.

<Kyn...The gears of the machine have no control over what happens to them...it's the Porygon that controls everything.> She snorted. <If you mess up the machine, then Vendetta is the one who gets in trouble.>

Jasmine was now hovering around her head. "Oooo, let me talk to him, you're talking to him, right?" <"For fuck's sake Jasmine, GO AWAY"> She said both mentally and verbally, not bothering to close the channel while she tried to fend off the Celebi.

<Then that's not my problem. There's always a risk that come with things like that Serena. Besides, all this thing will do... is collect data. I won't be doing any actual tinkering yet.> Kyn said firmly. He'd heard Serena's outbirst and in his rush to get supplies and things he'd forgotten who Jasmine was.

<~D'aww, I just want to talk with him, the last human I met was a girl by the name of Papaya. Hiiiiii HUMAN! I'm Jasmine.~>

<Ugh, Jasmine, you are WAAAAY too perky.> She wondered if this was what it was like to be used as a relay, except Jasmine wasn't as covert about it as she herself was.

Kyn chuckled, since he knew Serena wouldn't hear it and he tried ignoring Jasmine. <So... I'm like, literally a few inches away from Tao Village now, Serena.>

Serena had to grab the Celebi before she could flutter away, and still, of course, she teleported to a few moments in the future, and stuck her tongue out at the Bagon. "Oh for fuck's..." <Be right there, Racing a time deity, pretty sure I'm gonna lose. If you see a Celebi, grab her mouth and don't let go until your out of town.> Of course she had landed on the Oran berry, and thus had the juice running down her thigh, she paid it no mind as she zigged through the trees, and streamed through the town, She was aiming for the Celebi, who would have been hovering around Kyn at this point, and leapt, but of course, being a bloody flyer, she was able to go up out of her reach. /You Little.../ There was that growl again. She landed on her feet some point behind them, skidding and finally hitting all fours. She was, as one might expect, panting. "I really, really, really HATE you right now Jasmine."

"You're the one who offered to let me stay with you for assisting with the forest~ I figured that I was allowed to drop by whenever~"

"A decision I regretted two days later." She snarled, of course, her snarl dropped as she realized just who was among the group, and how she was making the Celebi look. "She's harmless...Annoying, but harmless..." /So long as she doesn't go spouting off about you know what./

"Hm. Time AND space. An interesting combination I see here." At this current point in time, Kyn had his proper swords, the Katanas in their sheaths, which would assist him in hunting.

Serena of course, didn't bother asking, she jumped upwards, borrowing Heji's shoulder, and finally caught the Celebi, pulling her back down to earth with her. "Ha, got ya! Didn't see that com....Time AND Space?" She looked up at Kyn, questioningly, then her eyes got wider as she recognized the scent. "Oh...Void..." Of course, her hands had slipped in her shock, and the Celebi had gotten loose again. "Now you see why I wanted to meet him~" Jasmine taunted.

"Well Jasmine... it's pretty simple... though I don't know how much you know about me. Oh and.... please keep my... 'condition' to yourself mmmk?~" Kyn said, with a grin. He did find the way Jasmine had managed to gain the upper hand on Serena to be humorous.

The Bagon snorted, she was already knocked off schedule by the Celebi, and she checked that she hadn't even displaced any hairs off of Heji's shoulder with the jump, scratching down his mane in greeting.

"Oh sure, I just wanted to meet you, I've been hanging around Serena all month, well, all month minus a week, of course~" She fluttered up to eye level with him. "I'll be popping in and out during your visit since Serena was so nice to offer me a room, as I said~ I've met you in other timelines, but never this one! Hee, toodles." As she spoke, she did a twirl, and disappeared into thin air.

"Waaaay....toooo....perky." came the almost tired voice from Serena.

"Since there's another version of me, you haven't met them yet. OR if you have, then she'll probably tell you sooner or later. Now, let's go back to your cave so I can sort things out eh?" Kyn hurriedly suggested.

Serena dropped back to all fours and walked them through the town back towards the cave, stopping to drink, of all things, from the fountain at the center, and then continuing on. "I'm not really...interested in meeting yet another one of you Kyn, being attached to ONE of you is enough to be a full time job." She flicked out her tongue over her lips, and soon, of course, they were at the cave. She was thankful there weren't any questions about her bi-colored headplates, but figured that that would be remedied soon enough, knowing Kyn.

"Twenty days minus a week...you know she had the gall to tell me not to mark the trees so I could find my way back after everything changed? I mean really." She scoffed.

"Serena. I am requesting a new hunting assessment. I believe you remember me telling you about my swords a while back." Kyn said, keeping focused on why he was currently hear other than to visit Serena.

"I do." She confirmed, standing and pouring water over her sticky thigh, then drying it with her flame. "What did you have in mind?" The look in her eye could have told him what SHE had in mind, since she had been being truthful when she said that the security detail was the only source of a challenge she got.

"There is a slight chance, only a slight chance, that I would want to test them with YOUR help. Other than that, a visual assessment would suffice first." Kyn said, probably thinking along similar lines to her.

"You're not going to be able to actually hunt around here...but go ahead, we'll see if it can stand up to the visuals...and then maybe a torture test." She quickly amended the words. "Er. Stress test...been around Merlot too much lately I think." She was almost embarrassed to admit it. "At that point, I'll be running off of feral instinct alone...so, well, it might be a bit painful...but I shouldn't be able to /break/ you with that alone." She sniffed to find where the Oran berry had fallen, and dusted it off, starting to eat it again.

"I do so hope you don't break my swords though Serena. Now here they are." Kyn took his time sliding the long blades out of their sheaths and the holding the out in non-battle position.

With the last bit of the Oran Berry in her mouth, she licked her claws clean and walked over to his swords, she examined them, first with her eyes, and then, yes, even slid her fingertip across the edge to see if it could cut her hide. when a small droplet of blood appeared against her flesh, she licked it off and nodded. "They'll do well. An...honorable, artificial weapon, better, at least, than what was tagged on the memory you shared."

"That is a rather odd thing to do Serena. Anyway, what other things could I test them on here?" Kyn wondered, sheathing his swords again.

"It's no odder than testing my claws against Striker's blade." She countered, walking away from him about ten paces before answering his question. "Me, for one." She had, as she turned, struck something of an unusual battle stance for her. Her pupil's had slitted to the lizard like state, and between the two clawed limbs that touched the ground, she dropped her scarf. "If you're up for entertaining a bored dragon, that is."
