After flying through the outskirts of Corneria I landed back at the launch site. I got out and walked up to where everyone was, however the Star Fox team wasn't there. I ran up to the tested and asked them where they were.

"They went that way," Kuro spoke to me and pointed to the direction leading to General Pepper's office, "General Pepper said something about a new threat." "Take a seat Ryan," Fara said, "we've got your first assignment." I nodded and sat down in a chair next to Fox and Pepper reached into his jacket and pulled out a small remote. He pressed a button and a hologram appeared, it was outer space with many different stars spanning it.

"There has been a threat of attack from an unknown group," Pepper began, "it's seems to be someone that we've never encountered before. Although because of the situation the President can't make any responses of war to it. We've sent some soldiers to investigate after we traced the source of the signal to planet Sauria. However we lost contact. The group stated though that they have some of the soldiers held hostage and are forcing us to meet there demands." He pressed another button which caused the hologram to close in on one the stars to reveal a planet. It looked kinda similar to Earth also but with plenty of distinct difference. Fara stood up and spoke.

"Star Fox, you're mission is a top priority matter. You are to head to planet Sauria and make way to the Sharpclaw city. That was where the signal was focusing from. You are to find out who this group is, rescue the captive soldiers and get out without being noticed." Everyone else nodded and I did to with a little hesitation. I was never good at stealth mission when I played video games. Now I'll have to do one in real life.

"Alright everyone," Fox spoke, "we'll leave at first light tomorrow so be sure to report to the Great Fox when you're ready to leave." We all nodded and left the room. I spoke to Fox as we walked down.

"So what do I need to know about Sauria?"

"That's the Dinosaur planet where we found you," Fox answered.

"Oh yeah," I said and remembered first showing up here on the planet being surrounded by dinosaurs everywhere. I knew we'd have to go a place called Sharpclaw city and I got even more nervous. I imagined what a creature called a Sharpclaw would look like and that didn't help at all. We got to the entrance and spilt up. I found the tested and Balze sitting around obviously waiting for me and gathered around.

"So what's going on now?" Robert asked. I explained about the mission and what's going on.

"Well," Nordic began, "the only thing I can say is good luck to you." I thanked him and he walked off. Everyone else split up going their different ways. I turned to leave also when Vincent stopped me.

"Hey Ryan," He began, "could you come with me? I need to give you some target practice with your blasters. I haven't seen you use one yet." I thought for a second. He posed a good point. I needed some practice in case something about the mission goes wrong. I nodded and followed him into the shooting range. Various targets were there and he showed me the proper way to handle and fire the blaster. Then told me to give it a try.

"So you're not going to get mad if I screw up right?" I asked chuckling a little.

"I promise I won't," and he grinned. I aimed at a target and fired. The red laser completely missed the target and hit a nearby window. I watched it shattered and widened my eyes in surprise.

"That's a good look for you," I complimented. He nodded and we went our separate ways. I made another turn and came across the library. I figured a good history book or two will help settle my nerves for the mission. I walked up and down the aisles looking for a good book to read. As I did I ran into Adair. He was sitting at a table with a pile of books and another one in his hands. He looked up and waved.

"Hi Ryan," he began, "found a good book to read yet?"

"Not yet," I said, "I need something to help keep my mind off the mission for a little. I'm a nervous wreck."

"I think I have some books in my room that you might like," Adair said, "come with me." He set his book down onto the table and grabbed my hand. He led me down the hall and made a few turns before he got to a door and opened it. It looked a lot like Tri's room. The big difference is the piles of books spanning the floor. "All of the Arwings are secured in the ships hangar bay," Slippy said.

"We have a full stock of fuel cells we can use for quick travel," Peppy said, "unlike when we found Ryan when we came up short." I thought about the amount of time it took us to get to Corneria from Sauria and thought how much faster we'd be going. I saw General Pepper and Fara look on at us as we boarded the ship. Pepper saluted me and I saluted back. I ran into the ship and followed the team quickly to the bridge and buckled in.

"ROB," Fox spoke firmly, "initiate take off."

"Take off initiating," ROB spoke, "begin countdown. 10, 9, 8..."

"You nervous Ryan?" Falco asked me as he buckled into his seat.

"Not in the least," I lied as I have never been this nervous before in the past.

"7, 6, 5, 4..."

"3, 2, 1..."

"This is a communicator," Fox said, "it allows you to contact us with audio and video holograms. It also serves as a universal translator so you can understand and speak the different languages here in Lylat. Like on Sauria the dinosaurs speak their own language. It also allows us to track your position and it can tell your vitals. To contact us or to receive contact from us just press the button in the center." He showed me how all of the different buttons and works of it and when he was finished he spoke again.

"Now you're all prepared," I looked at my uniform again in amazement. My non-sleeved tan uniform jacket over a thicker more snug copy of my short sleeved black chess shirt under it. Black pants dead similar with Fox's green ones. A tan belt with two holsters both containing my custom blasters. With the belt now had my attached shield and communicator. "Now then," Fox said, "here's what you need to do for your mission. You'll fly your Arwing down to Sauria, once you land check your map and follow the directions to the Sharpclaw city. Ask the locals for direction if you need to. Once you get there you'll need to do some sneaking around. Try to find the captive soldiers and get a good look at the leaders of this group. Once you get there leave and signify us, we'll come and once we get there we'll team up to get the soldiers out of there. We'll need to make a plan based on the situation from then. If something goes wrong and you are caught or being chased press this button on your communicator. This is a distress signal and we'll break the mission plan to come to your aid." He pointed at the specific button on his communicator and spoke.

"Do you understand all this?" I nodded in agreement. "Good, then head to your Arwing. Just make your way down to that planet right there. You should land in a place called Thorntail Hollow." He pointed out the large window which showed planet Sauria.

"Yes sir," I said and saluted him the same way General Pepper did with me. I then rushed down to the hangar bay and caught sight of my Arwing. I got in and took off in it slowly. I was extra careful because this was my first real flight into space. I seemed to do it alright as I flew it down to the planet. Soon as I got closer I saw the darkness of space fade away as a clear blue sky appeared overhead. I recognized the place that I was landing at. It was the same place that I had first shown up that. I landed the Arwing in a soft patch of grass. I shut off the ship and opened up the latch to the window. I got out and took a look around the place. Nothing seemed to have changed from my last visit here. The usual stream of Dinosaurs that were living here were still there. I picked up the communicator from my belt and activated the map. I noticed a red spot blinking were I was supposed to go and also saw a yellow star. That was supposed to be my current location. Next to my yellow star was a small blue ship. That happens to be my Arwing showing up on the map. I closed the map and put the communicator back onto my belt and walked in the direction that I was to go in. I shortly ended up in a forest area. I took a look at the map periodically and kept going. The walk lasted a good five hours and I found myself on a clifftop. I slowly edged myself to a clifftop and peeked my head over it. What I saw was a large camp. A huge stream of black tents were there and I saw some smoke rising up from the camp. I looked past it to see a good sized city and figured that it was the Sharpclaw city. I need to take a closer look at this camp before I head into the city. I looked around and noticed a small visible trail leading down the cliff. I followed it and after another half an hour I found the bottom and hid in a pile of bushes. I took a look through them to see a group of people. There were a bunch of various species all wearing heavy brown coats. I noticed on their right arms were a black arm band. The band had a strange red symbol that I couldn't really tell what it was. They all carried rifle like guns and had them shouldered like they were protecting something.

I kept looking around as best I could looking past the patrolling guards. I caught site of a campfire and I saw someone in slightly different garb. It was a cougar and he seemed to be talking to someone. I looked at my surroundings to see that the coast was clear. I then snuck around and hid in a bush closer to the cougar. I heard him talking and looked through the bush to see who he was talking to. The person he was talking I couldn't describe. He was wearing a black mask making it impossible to see who or what it was. I listened in on the conversation.

"It seems he still won't talk. And the Cornerians aren't taking the threat seriously," He turned around to where a couple guards were standing. I notice they were holding an unconscious person in between them each holding an arm. I recognized the unconscious person as a Cornerian soldier. His uniform was battered and torn and seemed a little blood stained. I looked a little longer to see that he was but couldn't see at this angle. The cougar spoke in a calm deep voice.

"Take the boy back to his tent." The guards obliged and carried him off. I snuck around again following them. I knew about the leaders and now to find where this guy and the other soldiers are being kept.

The cougar looked as they carried the boy away and looked back at the figure.

"It looks like we have an uninvited guest," the cougar said, "I guess we better deal with him." After that the cougar snapped his fingers.

I continued to follow them a little bit behind and still hidden. They finally stopped at a tent and threw the guy inside.

'Bingo,' I thought to myself. The guards walked off and no one was around to keep watch. I knew my job for now was done and I made to sneak back up the cliff. As soon as I got up I heard a twig snap behind me. I quickly turned around to see a large bull behind me. It was too late as I found him swing an axe and felt it collide right against the right side of my head. I felt myself get knocked off the ground and spun in midair.
