Barbarian Life

The boy looked over the whole of the village. The peasants had run for their lives, those that didn't get caught in the fires. Barbette looked around at the shreds of fabric and papers fluttering in the evening breeze.
He heard the bear ahead somewhere, roaring in anger. The feline brought his bow forward, taking an arrow from the stolen quiver on his back. He notched the arrow and began forward slowly, taking each step carefully. His braids bobbing lightly, as he rounded the corner of the house, and took aim. His companion could hold is own, no doubt. But there were times he was just too damn thick to get it through his head he needed help. The feline watched for an opening, and then he saw it.
The guard in the back was bringing a crossbow up. Barbette moved out of cover, making himself known as he took aim. The town guard tried to adjust his aim to hit the smaller feline, and only succeeded in making himself a bigger target.
The small feline's aim held true, and the guard slumped. The barbarian turned, tossing another poor sod over the feline's head. Barbette looked at his companion, and sighed. The last guard left ran for his life. Barbette put a hand on the bear's back. The hulking barbarian turned, growling. Seeing it was only the feline, he calmed and slowly put his sword aside.
The cat swayed his tail and moved to start picking through what was left. Half the houses had burned to the ground. The rest were abandoned. Barbette walked into one, and started sifting through it. The barbarian walked in behind him, moving right to the bedroom and snatching up one of the quilts off the bed. Holding the corners together, he used it like a sack.
He then picked up the rest of the covers and dumped them in the bag. His next top was the kitchen. If it was food, or smelt like food he threw it in the sack. Barbette had meanwhile moved on to the common room. He was digging through what was apparently the washed and dried laundry. He gave a delighted squeal, as he held up a soft pastel purple dress.
The bear rolled his eyes. He was well used to his companion's antics by now. Annoying as it was, he tolerated it. He had his reasons for keeping the guy around. As they gathered more, the bear paused to listen. He growled softly, getting Barbette's attention. The cat came rushing as the bear started off. No sooner had they crested the hill, than the feline heard the hooves of mounted troops.
The pair of barbarians headed for the forests again. Under the cover of darkness as the last rays of sun vanished, the pair slid well past where the guards would search. Coming to their camp, the bear grunted loudly. He was tired now, and ready to eat. As he dropped the bags inside the hut, he heard Barbette starting the fire. The two did enjoy the quiet time after good raids.
Barbette soon had a small fire going, the barbarian taking time to pull some food out of the bags. Barbette came to stand beside him. Looking at the dress he took, the feline grinned and looked at the hulking ursine. He then stepped out of the light of the fire. The bear scratched his head and set about eating his meal. How could one little guy like that make his life so different?
As he was sifting through the bags, he picked up something paper. Looking it over, he noticed it was a reward poster. He couldn't read, but he knew what the things were. The image on it was strangely familiar. He looked at the young prince on the poster. After a moment he tossed it aside and dug out some bread. Barbette returned, wearing the dress. As he walked, the reward posted flicked across the ground, catching his foot.
Barbette leaned down and looked at it. As he leaned up, he grew silent. That was his face for certain. His father was still looking for him, after all these years. But so much had changed. His once lustrous hair was chopped short, save for two shoulder length braids. His tail was no where near as trim and neat, his ears not hidden under some worthless hat. No fancy jewelry, no stuffy clothing, and certainly no siblings around.
He snickered to himself a bit. From prince to barbarian, and what a trade off. His life had been so much more full and rich since he ran away from his home. He had been a prince, son of the Emperor. Unfortunately, he was the youngest and many siblings. The line of succession was so long, their would have to be a catastrophe that destroyed the majority of the palace for him to even get close to the throne. But alas, his heart was never for it. He wanted freedom, travel, companionship, a life of adventure.
And had he ever found it. Crumpling the flier, he tossed it into the fire and came back. The bear grunted, hearing the steps. But actually seeing Barbette in that dress was something else. He looked just like a young woman. Though the bear had no idea there actually two different genders, he knew what felt good and what made him happy.
And seeing Barbette in that particular outfit was quite pleasing to the eyes. He watched the feline move to the bags, and bend over to look inside. The bear dropped his bread, staring at the round, bouncy ass right in his face. He huffed softly, as his own length twitched. This was one of the main reasons he kept Barbette around. He sucked at pillaging, he had no idea the value of things like food and shiny objects, he sang horribly, and worst of all he kept trying to give the bear some culture.
But aside form those facts, the kitty was a good shot with that bow, as well as his sling. His constant bouncing and moving kept him safe during raids, and he had more than once took out a guard or soldier that was where the bear couldn't see or get to them. The other reason he kept the feline around, was because he liked the way it felt to mate him. Tight, hot, and always willing.
The bear glanced down at his own crotch sock, about to pop off with his throbbing erection. He decided a bit of fun was in order. It had been a good raid and the feline had done well enough. The bear stood, walked over behind Barbette, picked him up, threw him over his shoulder and headed for the hut.
Barbette let out a squeal of surprise. He turned to say something but saw where they were headed. He sighed with a grin. The bear wasn't the most gentle of lovers, but it was amazing none the less. And the feline was never disappointed.
The next morning, Barbette awoke to the sounds of birds. Stretching, he stood and moved out into the sunlight filtering through the forest. The bear was gone, but Barbette didn't worry. He knew where he had gone. Taking the dress off he set it on a rock beside the hut. No one ever came to their part of the forest.
Taking the time to enjoy the scenery as he walked, he headed for the stream near their hideout. He saw the bear bent over the edge, getting a drink. The feline smiled as he headed for his usual spot. He was about to step into the water for a bath when someone stood up. There, before him was a tall woman. As she turned, he backed up a step. An Amazon, the biggest and only one Barbette had ever seen. She stared down at him, wondering just what he was doing out here alone. He posed no threat to her and she was going to dismiss his presence entirely. She had no interest in a man this small, if it was a man. It could pass for a young girl.
She was leaning on her spear. She looked like a bear, but the feline was hard pressed to tell. What concerned him was the weapons. A stone dagger and a spear with a stone head on it. Dangerous warriors known for combat prowess. Even barbarians feared them in groups. Barbette backed up, and heard it. The roar, the near deafening, blood thirsty roar of an angry bear.
The Barbarian came charging in, as Barbette jumped aside. The fight was over in seconds. Barbette opened his eyes and found his companion with the stone dagger at his throat. Barbette squealed, terror on his face. The Amazon held the big bear down, looking at the feline.
"Don't. Please don't kill him," he pleaded. The woman looked between the two, and then a slow grin spread over her lips, she straddled the bear's lap, holding him down with the dagger at his throat. She reached down, pushing her loin cloth aside. The bear grunted in protest, and she pushed the dagger a bit. He settled down, as she ripped his crotch sock off, tossing it aside. She gripped his cock firmly, grinning at him as she worked him up.
Barbette was upset, "H...hey!" She snarled at him, running him back a bit. For the next two hours he sat on a stump, watching his companion submit to this woman. Barbette muttered under his breath, as this woman took what Barbette felt was rightfully his. The bear didn't seem to be protesting too much either. Though there was little he could do with the dagger at his neck.
Finally the woman stood, her thighs plastered with the sticky mess. A fairly content look on her face. But rather than wander off, she snatched up her spear and menaced them both. "Walk..." she ordered. They both complied, not wanting to become the woman's next meal. They had heard rumors, and didn't want to test them. Barbette was furious, and his face showed it as they marched along.
The woman marched them deeper into the forest. It was nearly sunset when they came into the village. Barbette was a bit startled. They had no idea this place was so close to their home. It was disturbing the feline until the spear point poked his bare ass. He jumped and the barbarian grabbed the spear and yanked it from the woman's paws. Instantly the pair were surrounded by other, bigger Amazons.
"Don't be an idiot!" Barbette hissed at his companion. The bear looked at the feline, seeing the anger and frustration in his eyes. He slowly let the spear drop to the ground. They were separated, the bear being led off to a larger hut, as Barbette was taken to the back of the village were a smaller hut stood. He was told to wait inside, after they took his only article of clothing.
The feline sat on the rug, covering his bits with his paws and sighing. The feline waited until sundown, when the cloth of the door was flung open and a woman his own size walked in. Barbette jumped up, backing away from her and covering his bits. "So. You man. Make good for me. Make me baby." Barbette let out a hiss as he backed away. His tail puffing to the point it looked like a brush instead of a tail.
The nude woman pointed at him, "Down... Now." Her tone was not a pleasant one. But the feline was in no position to argue. As realization began to dawn on him that he had absolutely no chance of escape from this, the tears formed in his eyes. He sank to his knees, his ears dropping. The woman was a bit taken aback. She had always believed all men loved breeding and would do anything to do it. This one seemed so adverse to the thought.
Then the feline let out a wail of despair. The woman backed up, and then looked toward the cloth over the door. Somewhere, in the middle of the village, something had woken up. The Barbarian had heard that cry, and snapped. His roar mingled with terrorized screams. The bear burst into the hut, destroying half of the wall in the process. The small amazonian woman jumped back as she bear stalked toward her. He had the intent to kill her then and there. Barbette watched him, knowing full well what he intended to do. And in a small moment of clarity, Barbette yelled, "No! Stop!" The bear instantly stopped, looking at the feline.
After a moment of consideration, the Barbarian picked up the feline and ran for the forest. Deep into the night they raced. The bear didn't stop running until the sun rose. Pausing to set the feline down, the bear dropped and lay back to rest. He panted heavily, as Barbette looked him over. "You.. You saved me." The bear only nodded softly.
After giving the bear time to recover, they took stock of where they were. The bear knew where they were, and guided the feline back to their hide out. Back in the hut, the bear collapsed on the ground and lay there to sleep. Barbette curled up near him, watching him.
The bear had gone berserk hearing the feline's cries. He had rampaged through the amazon village to find him. Then carried him to safety. Barbette sighed softly as he moved to lay beside his companion. As he was falling asleep, he felt the barbarian pull him closer, almost protectively guarding him.
It was well into midday when Barbette awoke. The barbarian had a good fire going, and was cooking something that looked like a feral deer. Barbette came close, putting a hand on the bear's back. The barbarian stood and looked at the feline, checking him over to see if he was injured. "I.. I'm alright. You don't have to worry."
The bear nodded and set the feline on his feet. The bear then sat to continue the cooking as Barbette went to look through the stuff they had pillaged the other day. He found several shirts, and took one. Cutting it up with a knife, he fashioned them some new slings. Tying his own in place, he brought the other to the bear. The bear took it, putting it on and then picking up the feline. Taking him to a boulder that sat next to the hut, he sat him on it and pet his head softly.
Barbette smiled, knowing that at least on some level, the bear returned the care and concern. The rest of the day was silent, as the pair sifted through their plunder. Barbette set about using the quilts and pillows they had taken to make a more proper bed to rest on. The barbarian caught a sheep that had strayed too far from it's herd. Bringing it home he told Barbette it was dinner and to go fetch more fire wood to cook it.
Barbette went happily about his way, oblivious to what the bear was doing until he returned and caught the bear using the sheep to get his rocks off. Barbette set the wood down and scolded the bear. "You shouldn't play with your food like that. It's very rude, to everyone else that eats AND your food." The bear looked at the feline, confused as to why it was wrong. But he did as bade.
After dinner, he watched Barbette working with the wool from the sheep. Making something or another. The bear had no idea, and really didn't care. He just liked watching his little buddy work. Not like a slave, but a dear friend, and someone the bear turned too for the basic comforts.
