#46 of Iron Dragon

It occurred to Nodrog as he stood in the elevator, he did not know where either of their offices where. He pressed the button for the floor Jade's office was on, most of that floor seemed to be offices. As it turned out as he glanced over the list of names and their office numbers, he guessed correctly. The two shared a rather large office on the eastern most side of the building.

Nodrog lightly rapped on the open door. "I heard you were looking for me."

Frank and Kathrin glanced up from where they were sitting in front of a large screen. "We wanted you to give us a hand with something we found in a book." Kathrin said.

"There is some strange hand writing on this page here." Frank said and pointed on the screen image of the page.

Nodrog walked over to them. "It can't be... everything was supposed to have been lost in that fire..."

Frank and Kathrin looked at Nodrog as he got closer to the screen. "Does that mean you can read it?" Kathrin asked

Nodrog turned to look at them, the astonishment clear on his face. "Of course I can. Because I wrote it..."

Now the two archaeologists were excited, they had found some proof that he was as old as he said. "What fire?" Frank asked.

"1689 when the city of Skopje burned." Nodrog read and reread what he had written thirty years before they imprisoned him.

"Why does that ring a bell." Kathrin asked.

"The city was set ablaze to contain a cholera epidemic." Nodrog said he tried to remember why he had wrote in the book.

"How do you know that?" Frank asked.

Nodrog turned to look at them. "I helped start the city burning. Where did you get this book?"

Frank shuffled through some notes. "Actually it was given to us by one of our largest donators. It came from his private collection."

"So what did you write?" Kathrin asked.

"A poem, for the woman who owned this diary. I had met her in Bulgaria probably three or four years before the city of Skopje burned." Nodrog said. He could see they wanted to know what it actually said.

"It is about the sea, and that's all I am going to say on the matter. I don't remember why I even wrote it." Nodrog said firmly.

Frank stopped Kathrin from begging. "I am guessing this is the only book you wrote in."

Nodrog smiled. "It might be. I only keep track of the important events and people of which there are very few. I have been on this world for more than a thousand years. I began in Egypt and slowly worked up to and crossed the Mediterranean sea. From there eastward to China."

"Where you came back to the Mediterranean before finally ending up in western Russia." Frank said.

"Correct. I can read, write and speak seven of your languages fluently. Mandarin I can only speak, just too many characters to learn to be able to read or write it. In the short time I was there." Nodrog said and laughed.

"So you could have written any number of things in any number of books." Kathrin asked.

"Why is this in your strange monster language then?" Frank asked.

Nodrog turned back to the screen. "I honestly do not remember. She could have asked I suppose."

"With such horrible penmanship I would think it would be easy to spot." Kathrin said and leaned on her desk.

"Actually I have better penmanship than Alice. Monster, as all of you call it, is a very harsh language both in speech and written form. So this is a perfect example of it in writing." Nodrog said.

Frank and Kathrin just exchanged a glance. "We did have one other thing to talk to you about." Frank said.

"And that would be?" Nodrog asked.

"The books you helped get from your little trip." Kathrin said.

"Except for possible events the Knights wrote about, I would not be much help." Nodrog said.

"Well true, but seeing as you have been to other worlds..." Kathrin said.

"You would hope I might know of a more definitive answer?" Nodrog asked.

"Exactly." Frank said.

Nodrog just smiled. "I do know the answers to those questions. However, it is not my place to tell you them. Something's need to remain buried and some things, need to be found out on your own."

Nodrog walked over to the office door and paused to turn back. "The answers are different for every person. Be thankful you have them... I never will."

Kathrin and Frank watched him leave and sat quietly before turning back to the screen. The dragon's poem still highlighted.

Nodrog called Sherman's phone to find out where he was. He could just read his mind and show up. Nodrog knew Sherman was not always comfortable with him poking around his head.

"So what are we looking at?" Nodrog asked after he made his way over to the main defense force building on site.

Sherman panned the large map on the table screen out. "The area of operations for the spring recovery."

"I thought it was a dig?" Nodrog asked and glanced up to look at Jade who was across from him.

"It is a recovery now. It took several years but the majority of the excavation is done so we can pull the vaults and safes out of the flooded compound." Jade said

Sherman pointed to an area of the map. "We are staging here. There are ten small safes. Two large safes and a giant vault to be lifted out of the sea. Here and here."

"That is a large area to cover." Nodrog said.

Jade placed a finger on the map and moved it. "There is a choke point here, it should not be too hard to keep people from entering the area. The vault is our main concern given its mass and what is inside."

"I heard a little for Jim about it. It sounds too big to be easily stolen." Nodrog said.

Jade crossed her arms. "It almost is. However there will be a few hundred people involved in moving it and most are not on our direct pay role."

"You and I will be on the barge with the truck and trailer that they will load it onto. Jim, Kenny, Alice and three others will be on board as well. Each crane has a crew of ten and the tug boats have a crew of fifteen." Sherman said.

"Sorry I'm late." Jim said as he walked over to them.

"Just catching him up to speed." Jade said with a smile.

"There will be a handful of crane riggers on the barge with us. While we chain the vault down they will be on top freeing it from the cranes. Due to the weight involved if someone was to try something, it will not be until the vault is secured to the barge deck and trailer." Jim said.

Nodrog looked at Jim. "How can you be so sure?"

"Neither crane can support the load by itself. If something goes wrong, it could drag all of us under. While the things in the vault are priceless, those cranes are not cheap." Jim said.

"The smaller units will be picked up by a salvage ship and a dive team. The three big ones will have to be pulled by the giant cranes. Those three will all be loaded on separate trucks a day's drive to the south." Jade said.

"Will we be accompanying each trip?" Nodrog asked.

"Yes, we can only pull one large item at a time. So we will go out, pick one up. Drag it to shore and then truck it to the other staging area. They do not lift without my supervision." Jim said.

"Sounds rather straight forward." Nodrog said. He looked over at Sherman. "Mr. October had mentioned you wanted to ask me something as well."

"I do. How many people can you simultaneously monitor telepathically?" Sherman asked as he tapped his temple.

"Depends on the distance and what they are doing. Ten or more would be taxing even if I had nothing else to do. Five at the most if I am to do any other tasks." Nodrog said.

"What were you thinking about having him do?" Jim asked.

"Monitor people who might have other interests." Sherman said.

Nodrog looked at the map. "Given the area and number of people... It would be difficult at best."

"I think we should try and not rely too heavily on his, special abilities." Jade said and eyed the dragon carefully. "After all, he might not always be here."

Nodrog held her eyes. The last part of her comment was a bit unusual. Since he had done more than they had asked thus far, unless that was her point... "That and people might start asking questions."

"After they are on shore, the risk significantly drops. The equipment used to transport things this large, do not move very quickly." Jim said. And centered the map over the choke point leading into the bay. "The tugs have a longer range then the trucks. If they were to pull the barge out of the bay, it would be hard to stop them without sinking the ships."

Nodrog listened to the three discuss the matter in more depth. Usually security was not something his former keepers... bored him with. Defend a position yes, but not stand around and wait for something to happen. There was already a problem when they turned him loose. Usually.

It was a little hard to stay focused on what they were talking about. His mind was a little more preoccupied with his cat and mouse. Having dined on Jenny's blood a second time made it hard to forget her divine taste. It was succulent and a little tart, it matched her personality rather well. That thinking only led him back to Alice's horrendous blood.

Which was a considerable sore spot with him. Alice was to sweet and innocent to have tainted and vial blood. Obviously it showed on his face as Jade's question brought him out of his own thoughts.

"Something wrong?" Jade asked. Sherman and Jim both looked at him.

Nodrog made a dismissive gesture. "Sorry, just lost in thought. Please continue."

Sherman watched Nodrog as Jim and Jade started going over plans. He thought he knew what it was. However he also wondered what the real reason behind saving Roslyn was. Sherman knew they had talked a great deal of the flight. He couldn't really say, but he thought it had to be rather substantial for him to just go with no notice.

Nodrog managed to keep on task better. It was embarrassing to him to have gotten that distracted. The rest of the meeting went smoothly with most major details hammered out. Sherman and Nodrog walked over to Sherman's new office. It went along with his new position.

"I don't know if I will get used to this." Sherman said and sat at his desk. Nodrog walked over to the window to look out over the compound.

"Why do you say that? After all you have all the time in the world." Nodrog said and watched one of the snow plows go by.

"Well generally one gradually moves up in rank, not on a single person's whim. It is a lot of responsibility to just suddenly be under taking." Sherman said as he went onto paper work.

"You are doing fine. You are just nervous about the first big operation you are going to be in charge of. All commanders go through it." Nodrog said.

"I might believe you more if you managed to hide your amusement a little better." Sherman sarcastically growled.

Nodrog turned his head to glance at him. "I wondered if you were going to pick up on that. Very good, seems you are getting more comfortable with your heightened senses."

Sherman laid his ears back a little in anger. He should be used to Nodrog's odd sense of humor. "Do I have to put up with you constantly testing me?"

"No." Nodrog said with a little laugh.

Sherman relaxed. "I am a little curious about something." Sherman signed a few documents and put them in the done pile.

Nodrog smirked. "About?"

Sherman stopped what he was doing and rested his chin on his hands. "What made you decide to rescue Roslyn?" He was a bit disappointed that Nodrog did not react to the question, but remained looking out the window.

"Very few people stand out to me. Out of my lengthy life this far, less than twenty people remain vivid in my mind." Nodrog said.

"And she is one of them?" Sherman asked.

"Yes she is. I genuinely like her as a person. I find her interesting and her personality is stunning... as is her figure. She could have taken the easy way out, she could have given up in that cell." Nodrog said and turned to look at Sherman.

"But she did not give up." Sherman said.

Nodrog smiled. "Exactly."

"Fair enough. I guess Alice and Jenny are on that short list." Sherman said.

"They are, and you are as well. I am still getting used to this new world. The three of you have made it rather easy." Nodrog said.

Sherman glanced up at the clock on the wall. "Let me finish this report and then we can go get dinner. And, no you cannot back out of the invitation."

Nodrog laughed. "Very well."

Chapter.

Sherman locked the door to his office and the two headed out. Sherman had a winter coat on and Nodrog still looked like he was dressed for summer. However in the sub zero temps the amount of heat that came off of him caused him to be shrouded in a light fog. As they waited for the shuttle to pull up the last few feet, Sherman noticed the snow around Nodrog's feet had melted.

"I would ask if you are cold, but that does not seem to be the case." Sherman said as they got on the shuttle.

"Perfectly fine." Nodrog chuckled.

After the shuttle ride back to the main building they headed up to the lounge. It was the first break they had from work and without their cute little shadows. "You seem to be easily distracted of late. Everything okay?"

"Aside from the one thing it is." Nodrog said.

Sherman ordered a drink. "I can tell. Talking about it won't help."

"Nope. Waiting has never been one of my strengths." Nodrog said.

"But your quick action is. A bunch of us would be taking dirt naps without your quick intervention." Sherman said he closed the menu having made up his mind.

"Onto a lighter subject. Has Samantha fully forgiven you?" Nodrog asked and chuckled at Sherman's visual response.

"I think so. We have had a few lengthy talks. Thanks to them, we have gotten closer then we have ever been." Sherman said and they both ordered when the waiter brought them their drinks.

Nodrog gave the tall beer a little thoughtful glance before taking a drink. "That's good to hear."

"And thankfully she has put Alice's little stunt behind her." Sherman said.

"So has Stacy it seems. I think Randy and her make a good pair." Nodrog said.

Sherman looked at Nodrog. "I saw her in the little cowgirl get up..."

Nodrog chuckled. "Jenny said it was cute."

"More than cute." Sherman chuckled.

"Okay good enough to eat." Nodrog said with a smile.

"Probably not a good analogy for you to be using." Sherman said and they both laughed.

"Touché... But it was Jenny's analogy." Nodrog said.

"Well that makes a little more sense." Sherman chuckled again. "So what's with Jenny's new piece of jewelry I always see her wearing?"

Nodrog paused long enough Sherman caught on that something was off about it.

"You need a quicker answer. So what does it have to do with you?" Sherman asked.

"You remember when she cut herself at the trial?" Nodrog asked.

"I will never be able forget." Sherman said. The mere mention of it brought the scene vividly back to the front of his mind.

"Because of that, she became my blood slave. That piece of jewelry is in fact a magical collar binding her to me." Nodrog said.

"Somehow I am guessing it is more complex than that." Sherman said.

Nodrog nodded. "It is. The story we are telling; it was something her grandmother gave her."

"Okay, why the hesitation to tell me?" Sherman asked.

"I was not sure if you could see it's magic or not." Nodrog said.

Sherman leaned back. "I will have to pay more attention next time."

"Yes you will. You saw Henrietta before she used my magic to be visible so you do have some magic sense." Nodrog said.

"Maybe we should do a little more training in that area." Sherman said, he did not expect Nodrog to agree to it.

"Perhaps we should... It is a little more useful if you need to defend yourself and are unarmed." Nodrog said.

"I nearly creamed Alice with a vending machine, I would have thought my unarmed combat was exceptional." Sherman said.

"Only if you can get close enough to use it." Nodrog said.

"Good point." Sherman said.

They sat in the lounge a good hour after they had finished eating. And probably would have sat longer if they both did not get calls from the girls.

"Did you take care of everything?" Jenny asked as Nodrog closed the apartment door behind him.

"I did. I thought you said Alice was home?" Nodrog asked.

"She is in the shower." Jenny said as he sat down on the couch.

Alice came out in a little bit. Her own loose pajamas on, like Jenny's only a draw string and her tail holding the bottoms up. "Now that's better. Having you both here."

Alice smartly put her head in Jenny's lap and her feet in Nodrog's. Since he was less likely to tickle them. She thought it might have been a mistake as a smile crossed his lips and he reached down to grab them.

He had other ideas in mind and began rubbing them. Because Jenny had her back to the couch arm, she could easily rub Alice's shoulders. It was not very long until she had melted in their hands. Driving the plow took a different level of concentration than her race cars. With both plows down it was twenty four feet wide and scaled out with a full load of sand and liquid ice melt at seventy thousand pounds.

She usually plowed with Kenny. When they tandem plowed Alice had to follow behind with a quarter of her blade inside the windrow Kenny's wing plow left. Together they took up a nearly fifty feet of road. Thankfully plows always had the right of way on company grounds, but not everyone seemed to remember that.

Alice also did not mind as their magic hands and fingers work their way down or up her body. Nodrog had nearly worked his way up to her thighs and Jenny was working her way down Alice's sides. On Jenny's suggestion Nodrog carried her back to their bedroom.

Some where along the lines Alice ended up laying on her stomach naked. Jenny sat up by her head rubbing her back. While Nodrog worked her legs and butt. Alice moaned and cooed as they continued to massage the tension away. If it was not for the slight erotic things they would do, Alice might have fallen asleep.

It seemed like their hands lingered a little longer each time they passed over or by her more, sensitive spots. Alice moaned softly as one of Nodrog's fingers teasingly brushed her vagina. Almost light enough she might not have noticed except for the scales.

Jenny's hands kept making their way across the sides of her modest bust. Almost a tickle, but slightly more sensual. They gently rolled her over and continued, but ever in an increasingly erotic way.

Alice watched as Jenny moved to her right side. Jenny's soft fingers, teasing just around her labia; contrasted starkly to the uneven metal flesh of Nodrog. The two of them kissed briefly before lowering their lips down to hers. Alice arched her back and sucked in a lengthy breath as the two went down on her. Again the contrast between them just adding to her pleasure.

Jenny and Nodrog both smiled as Alice cried out from the pleasure of her little clit getting caught between their tongues. A bit awkward they kissed each other and Alice as the little mouse trembled and moaned under them. With both tongues teasing her clit and Nodrog's tongue also reaching her g-spot she came quickly and hard.

Alice watched them undress almost begging for more. Jenny turned and placed a kiss between Alice's breasts. She cupped each one and lightly teased around the nipple with her thumbs.

The way Jenny was laying made it hard for her to see what Nodrog was doing. Not that it took much to figure out as he spread her legs. Alice moaned as she felt him enter her, she moaned even louder when Jenny ran one of her hands down to her clit again.

Until the first time Jenny and Nodrog both focused only on her, Alice never would have imagined something so incredible. Hell until Jenny, Alice didn't know what great sex was... Granted Wes was good, he wasn't as good as Jenny... Or Nodrog for that matter.

Maybe it was the attention they paid to all of her that made them great. They both knew where all of the little places where on her body that got her off. Like the place on the small of her back, just above her tail Nodrog had rubbed earlier. Or the very specific spot on the nape of her neck Jenny was kissing.

Alice let out a tiny squeak as Jenny straddled her, pinning her to the bed. Their fingers interlocked as Jenny smiled as she brought her head down to kiss Alice. She moaned softly as she felt his knot growing with every thrust. Jenny had one hand between them, just teasing enough to drive her mad.

She never could figure out how Jenny always knew the exact second when she would climax. Her body tensed up and just as she felt the warmth of his cum; Jenny pushed her over and she came again. Alice giggled as Jenny got quiet the shock as Nodrog ran his tongue up her spine.

Alice ran her hand between them as Nodrog pulled out of her, and went right into Jenny. She smiled as Jenny just purred uncontrollably from the attention they now gave her. She had slowly learned where Jenny's most sensitive spots where... And ran her other hand down Jenny's side and firmly grabbed the base of her tail. Instantly turning the purr to a moan.

Alice smiled coyly as she stroked the base of Jenny's tail and teased her clit now. That much stimulation alone would quickly bring Jenny to climax. With Nodrog deep inside of her and what she was doing, Jenny almost screamed as she came. Jenny trembled and bucked in Alice's hands and arms as her and Nodrog continued.

After they got Jenny off a second time, the three laid on the bed and each others arms. Not for as long as they would have liked, since Alice did have to get up early in the morning.

The following week passed by with little drama or much of anything really. It snowed steady most of the week keeping Alice rather busy. However Saturday was sunny and completely clear. Nodrog was astonished to hear their alarm go off early on a weekend.

He got off the couch and walked back to their bedroom to peek in. They were both in long underwear and had thick socks pulled on. Alice was putting her contacts in while Jenny pulled on pants and a heavy weight shirt. "You two are up rather early for a Saturday."

Jenny smiled. "That's cause there is nearly three feet of fresh snow out there with our names on it."

"And Kenny already groomed a few of the large piles of snow to make ramps. He was going to go out to the big drainage ditch to see about grooming out a half pipe." Alice said as she came out of the bathroom.

"I will pretend to understand half of what you just said." Nodrog said and went back out to the living room when someone knocked at the door.

Stacy was standing out in the hall. Heavy winter clothes already on. "Hey. Are they ready yet?"

Nodrog just chuckled and let him in. "Getting around as we speak."

Stacy and Jenny laughed as they each had identical pink camouflage pattern snowboarding pants on. "I couldn't sleep I was so excited."

"I see that. Have you eaten yet?" Jenny asked.

"No, but I took my board, coat and helmet down to the shop." Stacy said with a bright smile.

"Well lets grab some food. I need to come back and get all of my gear after we eat." Jenny said.

"That will give me time to get the sled warmed up." Alice said.

Nodrog followed for curiosity sake. After they ate Alice, Stacy and him headed down to a different shop. It was facing the open field behind the building. Most of the equipment in here was lawn mowers and such.

"That old fart didn't even wait for us." Alice pouted.

"I find it hard to believe anyone would be more excited about motorized toys than you." Nodrog chuckled.

Alice jumped on her sled and got it started. "Jim likes playing in the snow and dirt. And I like everything with wheels or tracks."

Stacy was getting his pink helmet buckled when Jenny came in with her board and helmet. "At least we don't have the same coat and helmet."

"Might be fun if we did." Jenny said with a smile.

Nodrog had a coat on, mainly for appearance sake. Jenny and Stacy were wearing very bright and girly colored equipment. Alice had more of a girl who would kick your ass ensemble. Which was mainly due to the shark teeth painted on her helmet and darker colors.

Jenny walked over and opened the shop door high enough for Alice to get through. Carrel looked at her watch when they came out. "Excellent timing."

"How so?" Stacy asked as the three walked out.

"Jim owes me ten bucks, cause you came out when I said you would." Carrel said.

They all watched as Jim caught huge air and pulled a back flip. Egging Alice on by making a 'L' for loser just as he landed. Not that she needed much egging on as Alice gunned the motor and took off chasing him.

"Did a sixty year old man just call Alice a loser after doing a back flip on a sled?" Stacy asked as the two roared past.

Carrel and Jenny both laughed before saying yes.

"This place fucking rocks." Stacy said.

"Yes it does. Here is your rope." Jenny said and handed him a coil of rope. "We talked about it last night and Alice will pull you around."

Stacy looked at the rope in his hand then to Alice who was a good two feet above her sled with her arms outstretched; nearly twenty feet in the air. "Is there someone slower?"

Carrel laughed. "Probably. In this case, Alice has more experience then Jim. Trust me, you will be fine."

After their few minutes of fun, they pulled back around to the shop. Each shut off the motor and pulled their helmets off. "The only time I ever stand a chance." Jim said with a big smile.

"Keep telling yourself that. So are you read Stacy?" Alice asked.

"I think so." Stacy smiled.

Jenny tied off her rope to Jim's sled. She locked her boots to the board and they took off. They made a slow loop, so they could get used to it again and it allowed Alice a chance to explain some things while watching them.

What actually made him nervous was how Alice could sit backwards on her sled as she slowly pulled him along explaining things. Once he was comfortable Alice put her helmet back on and sat right.

Nodrog and Carrel watched the four play around. Carrel knew the names of every trick Jenny could do. Nodrog found out she used to be a hell of a boarder herself before arthritis took hold of her knees.

"I even took a couple first places in my collage days. It's hell getting old." Carrel smiled as Stacy finally caught a fair amount of air for the first time.

"Jim seems to be doing well." Nodrog said.

"He does do good. Aside from slightly high blood pressure he is in nearly as good of health now as he was when we met." Carrel sighed. "I wish I could say the same for my health."

Nodrog glanced down at her. "You look in good health to me."

"Well thank you. Looks can be a little deceiving. I have had a hard time recovering from colds and such after trying to give birth for a third time. I just barely beat breast cancer two years ago... If only there was more time." Carrel said.

Nodrog chuckled. "I have heard that probably more times than any other statement."

"Do you find it strange that we want more time?" Carrel asked.

Nodrog nodded. "Only because I have had so much time myself."

"I guess I have never thought of it from a perspective like yours... Does it hurt?" Carrel asked.

"It has, and it will again." Nodrog said.

"So you do love them." Carrel giggled. "I thought that might be the case. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."

"Nothing seems to get past you or Lucy." Nodrog smiled.

"Mother's intuition." Carrel said.

Now that it was a more reasonable hour; more people had come out with their families to play in the snow. It was not hard to see most of the younger girls looked up to and admired Alice and Jenny.

Nodrog chuckled to himself. They were the most notorious and infamous pair on the facility. It seemed everyone knew the two of them. Some of the other adults came over and talked with them as they all enjoyed the first substantial snow fall of the year.

Jim and Stacy called it a day a little early. Carrel sat on the machine with him. Alice and Jenny however kept on going. Catching bigger jumps and hanging in the air for considerably greater lengths of time.

"Why did you call it an early day?" Nodrog asked.

Jim smiled. "So when Alice runs hers out of gas, I can go pull her back here."

"Either she is almost out, or something broke." Nodrog chuckled as Alice pulled up next too Jim.

"Something wrong?" Jim asked after Alice pulled her helmet off.

"Nope, just thought we would come over and talk to everyone too." Alice said.

Jenny crouched down to unhook her boots from the board and smiled as she scooped up a little snow. Alice was too close, Stacy and Carrel saw her... That just left Nodrog as she rounded out the snowball a little more.

Stacy about jumped when Jenny flung the snowball at Nodrog. Who just happened to turn and take a half step back before it hit him. Stacy giggled when the snowball hit Sherman square in the chest.

"Uh o..." Jenny was just starting to turn and run when someone hit her with a snowball. Denise's unmistakable laughter getting her attention. Taking her eyes off of Sherman however was a very bad idea.

"Sherman." Samantha said as he scooped up a rather big handful of snow.

"She started it." Sherman was careful to lightly toss his giant snowball at Jenny.

As soon as the large ball of snow hit Jenny's shoulder, all bets were off and the snow started flying in and from every direction. There were not any sides and it was a rather disorganized free for all.

"You got enough down my coat to get my ass wet you... ass." Jenny said as she took off her coat once they were inside the apartment.

Nodrog chuckled as he took off his coat. He was rather dry. "Like Sherman said, you started it."

"The wet doesn't bother me as much as the snow in the ears does." Alice said.
