Chapter 5 -Taking it up a Notch
"We've found a way to not only make it so your morphs can breath in a vacuum, I don't know say like space, and it will increase your powers so that they can damage a ships hull." Blake grinned.
"All right then we're on our way," Alex walked out of the med deck.
"Are you sure about this?" Blake asked.
"Yeah, and what the hell, what doesn't kill you it can only make us stronger right?" Skye laughed as he followed Alex.
"Yeah,"... Blake laughed nervously.
A few minutes later the two of them along with Spencer's unconscious body were in the bio lab, harnessed to back boards in the standing position and hooked up to quite a few machines plus an injector.
"Wow, this feeling brings back memories," Alex frowned.
"Yeah I know what you mean," Skye grimaced as well.
"This is probably going to hurt, as it will be changing a few of your bodies systems; so be prepared," one scientist explained.
"Okay, let's just get this over with," Blake said walking into the room.
"Aye," the tech responded as he pressed a few buttons, and a loud hissing sound filled the room as what looked like liquid metal was pressed through the tubing and into the three boy's veins.
Almost immediately Alex and Skye winced as every thought running through their heads told their bodies to scream out loud; even Spencer's body was reacting through his coma.
"The machines are showing a lot of stress on their minds," Blake raised his voice in alarm.
"They're going to be okay," The tech reassured, "I hope," he mumbled under his breath.
"Just a few more seconds," the tech replied, looking at the three boys, tears streaming down their faces.
"Their brain's reactions to this aren't looking so great," Blake warned again, reading the monitors. "It looks like their going into some kind o shock."
Then as suddenly as the machine had started it stopped, dropping the boy's bodies pushing the injectors out of their skin as they regenerated. A second later the three harnessed boys collapsed to their knees, panting, as the remainder of what felt like lava continued flowing through their veins.
"It'll take a bout a minute to be fully absorbed into their blood streams and organs Sir." The tech looked at Blake.
There was a sudden pressure the boys felt, almost like the one building up to an orgasm, but this one was different, it felt more like a build up of power. The source unknown but it kept rising until the boys pulled their knees close to their chest and held still.
"Great, not this again," the Tech's colleague groaned.
"What do you mean what happened?" Blake asked.
"It's a small reac6tion some people have, it paralyzes them." He whined.
"You mean that you just preformed a test... a test that YOU claimed to be safe on our only chance to stop Joey and now you've paralyzed them!" Blake shouted.
"Look," the tech pointed to their bodies.
They were indeed getting more active, rocking slightly back and forth, and then a sonic boom ripped through the lab from the bodies on the floor.
"What was that?" the first tech asked, looking to Blake.
"You expect me to know?" Blake shouted, "You're the ones who did this to them, and..."
Blake paused, as a orange glow enveloped the room, causing the three of them to turn to look at the boys.
The light was coming from the three boys themselves, their exposed skin almost seemed to be burning a golden colour underneath. Then a massive burst of flames erupted around them, then disappearing. What remained shocked both the techs and Blake, Alex and Skye's morphs emerged from the flames, just standing there.
"Was that expected?" Blake demanded, looking at his scientists, who could only shrug as they gazed in aw.
Skye cradling Spencer's Limp body, Alex turned to look at him, together they closed their eyes. A gentle wind seemed to whip through the room, where there should be no breeze. The air wrapped itself around the three of them as thousands of tiny orbs of bright white and dark black orbs erupted from the two dragons. The lights darted around the two dragons and the boy in a sphere and then flowed around Spencer who floated gracefully in front of the dragons, Blake and his Bio techs.
"Are you recording this?" Blake asked in disbelief.
"Yes sir 20/20." He replied.
Then another essence floated out of Spencer, bright blue almost white itself it gracefully floated amongst the other two essences, as they began to twirl around each other; the energy produced was off the charts, and the scales inside the mechanical room as it shorted out every computer within twenty meters. The several balls of light then gracefully floated down and into Spencer, a soft light emanating off of him, before he glided to the ground, in a standing position.
Something made Blake gasp, it could've been that all of Spencer's wounds were now non-existent, but it was in fact that the two dragons behind him collapsed to their hands and knees, panting in exhaustion.
Then Skye and Alex morphed back to their human forms, Spencer, however, remained standing, and a second later his grey eyes flipped open.
The look on his face suggested he knew everything, and immediately turned to see Skye and Alex on their kneeling on the ground, panting. He ran over to them, dropping on his knees beside them, tears clouded his eyes.
"Al... Alex... Sk... Skye," he stuttered.
They looked up and managed a smile, before they got to their feet, still shaky but stable none the less. Then they immediately reached out and pulled Spencer into a warm embrace, as a small tear ran down each face.
"It's good to have you back!" Alex whimpered, pulling himself together.
"It's good to have the two of you back!" Spencer began to sob again.
"I hate to break up this warm fuzzy moment..." Blake interrupted, but we've just dropped out of slip space and are headed directly towards our contact.
"Let's do this!" They replied, suddenly switching off their emotions and changing to a more serious tone.
The three soldiers walked onto the Bridge, followed by their captain, the whole crew saluted, until they all said, "at ease."
