Chapter 2: Morning mirrors and Breakfast jokes
#2 of Life of Roy, not really a joy
Roy was in the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror. He sighed and mentally slapped himself for being such a jerk. Why would he snuggle against Neil's neck?
He saw his muscles tense, and his grip was clutching the sink. The big lion looked over his fur, tan brown, yellowish. No spots were fluffed up, hopefully.
His mane was magnificent, and he knew it. Dark, dark brown, with a hint of black, and it blackened out to the tip. It was big too. The mane at his jaw hung all down to his upper chest, and overall it had a nice shape, and fit his body great.
Again, he couldn't resist. He snickered as he flexed his biceps. His arms were as big as tree-trunks, and his chest was massive. Huge pecs and his abs powerfull. Muscles.
They weren't so slim, but not fat. Powerful would be the word for it, bulky instead of trimmed.
He had to let out a chuckle as he saw how his chest was falling and rising when he breathed,
he liked his body, he had worked for it. No, worked his bloody ass off to achieve it.
His legs was massive, too. Being a quarterback sure fitted him, and he loved football. They were the best, him and Neil. He knew it, and he loved it, every minute he played. Nobody got pass him, outsizing any other football player by doubble, except from Neil.
Again, his mind drifted off to Neil.
'He must have known by now...' He thought, letting out a deep rumbling sigh.
That was all he could think about, how it was like to sleep next to him.
Feeling his body, his warmth and scent. It made him feel complete, full, his muscles rubbing up against Neil's. It felt so good! His body shivered at the thought, and he smiled again.
The breakfast was ready as Roy came down the stairs.
Roy wore some normal jeans and a white t-shirt.
'Not too picky, that guy.' Neil chuclked to himself.
He snickered, noticing a little smile on the lion's face.
"Morning sunshine, lightened up a little?"
"What do you mean?" Roy blinked.
"I just think you look... calmer. I mean, you were pretty messed up last night.." Neil claimed.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I don't know what really went on in my mind." He sighed, embarrased, avoiding eyecontact.
"It's ok, we all have our blue days I guess."
Roy was happy that Neil didn't ask more, nor talk about it. He joined the tiger at the table and they ate some breakfast.
Neil was way cooler clothed than him. Grayish jeans with riffs in it, and a blue-gray shirt, that matched pretty good up. It stood some out of his deep-orange fur, but it was nice.
Neil was just as big and muscled as himself was, but a slimmer stomach. What Roy loved except from Neil's huge muscular body, was his jaw. It was a bit squary, which made him look so incredibly handsome. His jaw-fur was always a bit 'spiky', or how you should describe it. Like if someone had a barb-knife, and had trimmed it a bit, all over his jaw.
Neil's eyes were very special, but cute. Yes, indeed they were cute! They had this light green colour, with about thrity percent, maybe fourty percent grey fading to them. It made the colour a bit matted, but his eyes always shone and it melted any girls heart at anytime, anywhere, and of course, his.
*snap* and Roy shivered, rustling his head.
Neil was waving his massive paw in front of his eyes.
"Wha- What? I didn't catch you?" The lion said.
"You were staring at me." Neil said, in a commanding, but friendly tone.
"Noh, no... I was looking at your necklace." He mumbled out.
"Really? Strange, because I thought I made eye-contact with you for a small milli-second there, or to be more specific, closer to thirty seconds..." Neil said, dead serious.
Roy's face dropped. 'Shit!' his mind screamed. 'Shit, shit! FUCK!'
And then Neil burst into a cruel, deep rumbling - hearty laughter.
"Oh, holy shit! You should've seen your face, dude! That was freakin' priceless! Ohhwwwww, my gawd! Dude! Hhahahahahaha!"
Roy snarled at the huge tiger that was now rumbling so much that he nearly fell off his chair.
"So? I just wondered how I would look like if I had same eyes like you!" He hissed out.
The second after he regret he had opened his muzzle. Neil's laughter-burst got even louder and he had to support his weight by putting his hands on the table, which again resulted in the table moving at every barking laugh that he roared out.
"You are such a dick sometimes, Neil." The lion spat, in a low humble tone.
Neil was still having some small giggles, and his eyes, they were wet and crystall clear. His right cheek was matted from a few tears that had been spilled and soaked his fur.
And then, Neil smiled at him. God damn that face, that smile, that muzzle, that handsome fucker. Roy tried his best to hide his feelings, and he mostly succeded, but now...
The way Neil shone, his looks, his smiles, everything about the big hunk washed over him.
He tried to calm down by taking a deep breath and sighing it out, as his gaze fell to the table.
"Sorry..." Neil apologized, yet, Roy didn't look up from the table.
"Roooooooy, I'm sorry, it's just that you looked pretty much redicilous, ok?" Neil pleaded.
The only response he got from the big lion was a loud snort. "Whatever."
"Hey, look, if you are gonna be grumpy all day, you're gonna walk to school, okay?"
"I've got my own car!" Roy shot back.
"But not the keys!" Neil roared out, running up in a sprint, snatching Roy's keys from the kitchen-counter and catching his backpack in the speed, his shoes already on.
"Neil, what the fuck! Give me my keys back, you asshole!" Roy roared, now pissed off.
Roy wouldn't catch up with him, even if someone would pay Neil to wait for him. He didn't have his shoes on, and his backpack was in the hallway. He sighed at his loss, and called out after Neil.
"I'm not gonna be an asshole!" Roy cheered, his face lightened up, just by thinking of Neil.
"Promise?!" Neil shouted from his car, already backing out of the driveway.
"Yeah, promise!" The big lion came stumbling out of the house, tossing his backpack over his shoulder. The front door auto-locked anyways.
Parking at the school parking-lot, they startled against the main entrance, over the lawn in front of the school. They were greeted by their usual 'pack', or Neil's pack in fact. They would follow him almost every day, everywhere. They didn't throw that much shit behind Roy's back, but enough that he did consider them false.
That bothered Roy. Everyone wanted to look like him, but nobody wanted to be.. him.
Everyone gave him glances. Against him, it was like... a sort of jealousy, and maybe a little hatred. Like he didn't deserve his epic body which he had worked his ass off to get.
He never backstabbed anyone, and neither was he throwing crap behind anyones back, and still... he felt the stinging gazes in his neck, everyday.
On the other hand, the way people looked at Neil! They admired him, his entire being.
He, too, got a coupple of friendly glances and smiles, but those who did, never had the courage to ask if he'd like to hang out. He could of course ask them, but he felt that they, too, would turn him down. Still, he considered hanging around with someone else, but he knew Neil would follow him.
Which resulted in his 'pack' following fit. Neil also noticed some furs hatred against Roy, but he brushed it off like dust. Roy was his best friend, he didn't give a shit about what some spoiled brat would say about him.
Except from Neil, Roy only considered Jack and Nate as his friends.
Jack was a big burly bear, his build was looking alot like his own, except from the fact that he was a little bit smaller, and had bit more gut. Of the few furs he considered hot, Jack was one of them. He was dark brown, with a handsome face, alot like his own and Neil's, with a squary jaw.
Nate was a mutt, a crossbreed of some sort. He was a little bit scrawny contrasted against him, Jack or Neil. He was a very handsome specieman with a face that charmed anyone, but he just wasn't his type.
The day pretty much went by, as any normal day.
The subjects Roy struggled most with, would be Communication class and chemistry.
He tried, he really worked but always got the same C+'es and a few few B-, but that was only in math.
At lunch break, he decided he would give Neil some room, and wandered over to his locker first. Packing most of his books back in, he took the few he would need the next two hours and whatever he needed for homework.
"Hey." A voice mumbled from behind. Turning around, he noticed Jack standing there.
"Hey." Roy smiled back. He liked Jack, even if they didn't hang around that much together, he was nice. He rarely ever heard that the bear was throwing crap about him.
"You alright? I mean, I know we.. don't talk that much, but if... uhh, you ever want to hang out or anything..." Jack said, dropping his gaze a little bit.
"Sure." Roy said. There was a brief pause between them before the lion broke the silence again. "Can't wait 'till the game tomorrow, we're gonna whoop Blue Reef's ass, right?" Roy smirked.
"Hell, yeah. Ohh, I am gonna break that runner's arm, that fucking prick." Jack's teeth widened into a big, evil grin.
"He-hey, easy. Just because he is faster doesn't mean he is better than you." Roy smiled, nudging his shoulder.
Jack gave a friendly smile back, "Hehe, thanks. You comming to the party afterwards?" and went down the hallway.
Roy stopped in his tracks a bit, thinking. "I don't know, it's not like any girls would like to hang out with me."
"Bullshit, you and Neil is "the best fucks" in school, so spare me that lie, ok? And since Neil is taken, you'll get whatever you'd like." Jack chuckled.
"I'm tired of one-night stands dude, but ok, I'll be there." Roy said.
They waved and walked off in different directions.
