New Beginnings Ch 5 (Welcome to Noir)

Vael nodded. "Okay. I guess that makes sense. To be honest, I don't want to catch any other pokemon without a good reason. I don't want to be like every other trainer and just capture the first pokemon I see until I get a full party. I think that catching a pokemon for a special reason may improve the connection and bond you can achieve. But that's just me speculating."

Alyssa looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Well think about it. Every trainer whose worth mentioning, gym leaders included, generally use the specific pokemon they have. I don't want to jump back and forth between others."

Alyssa watched them curiously. "Are you sure simply running them is going to do anything?"

I run the transportation business here and monitor the sky ships and hovercrafts to make sure they stay on schedule. The man once again laughed, if anything louder than before. "Well you're welcome to head to the back hallways behind the gym. My daughter is hard to rouse awake this early in the morning. I never bother her until noon at least because I'm so busy prepping shipments."

Alyssa nodded and they both head into the back room. The battleground was dark here and even after she turned on the lights full blast it was so dim inside the room that they could barely make out the floor. "Why is it so dark in here?"

Vael shook his head. "I have no idea. Let's go and see what we can find. I think I see a door on the other side of the field." He and Alyssa approached and pulled on the door, finding out that it wasn't locked. What lied beyond the door was another hallway leading to the back, where there was a room with a light on, and the door was cracked. Alyssa gasped and jerked her head between Eevee, who nodded again, and Poochyena, who looked, if anything, proud. The puppy pokemon looked to Alyssa and jerked his head to Vael, causing her to roll her eyes and smile. "Okay...Poochyena and I also caught you in the act with Eevee and Mothim. It was...quite sexy." She started to undress, less modest now that her secret was in the open, and she started to look at Houndoom, who had by now started to gaze at the visitors in piqued interest.

Lizana nodded to Zorua, who promptly resumed his actual form. "Is my father busy?"

Vael nodded. "He assured us that he had no time to wake you and we personally saw him grab some sort of clipboard and start waking up the crew of that large sky ship."

The gym leader giggled and grinned. "Then we have more than enough time to enjoy each other's company." She patted the bed beside her and winked at her new visitors. "The gym battle can wait a little longer, right?"
