I had a dream the other day

In the cool room, curtains swaying gently shadowing the light entering the dim room

In the cool room, rested soundly, in a dream.

The blue sky slowly faded to red, the last vestige of the day beckoned on the dusk

The air was cooling as the sun sat and the moon rose

A familar voice called out to me in the empty street but no matter where I looked I could not see them

A voice called out sometimes happy, sometimes concerned and other times just casually

We walked along silently unable to see them or feel them

We saw the autumn clouds dancing above us in the breeze

Countless times we watched the birds and played with sticks and stones

Countless times we'd make believe through the dismal days

Between us we shared secrets and sorrows

Between us there was a bond we thought would last forever

What little time we spent together shone brilliantly in my dim life

What little hope you gave me burns ever more even now.

However...

Those who are living must continue to live

Those who are dead can only stay dead

No matter how baddly I want to see you again I know it can never be

No matter how hard it gets I will forge on

Thank you my friend
