Beyond Words~ Chapter 1 Kiffin's Rebirth
#1 of Beyond Words~
This is a story I wrote inspired by teasers I saw for the beyond words comic in Finding Avalon, it's not how the comic itself goes, mearly my take on what I saw. I may add to this, now that I've read the comic trying to keep my take on it, which will be different from the comic itself. Jery and Kiffin Softpaw are copywrite Jery and kiffin Softpaw respectively, do not steal.
It was a week before the new school year started, Kiffin sat forlornly in his room, half heartedly playing with a toy car, merely pushing it back and forth along the floor. He always seemed unhappy. Plaything there he thought quietly to himself about the most recent happy memory he had. It was only last year in school, during show and tell. Everyone had been asked to bring their favorite toy to show the class, Kiffin didn't really have any toys he liked, so he just picked up the one he seemed to play with the most. It was an action figure of a bear in green futuristic armor with a toy gun in it's hand. At school during show and tell, the one toy he remembered most was a small non anthro pony doll that a puppy girl had brought. He remembered her name being Zoey. The boys in the class seemed uninterested in it, the girls however were very intrigued. Kiffin stared somewhat intently at it. Noticing this and sitting next to him, Zoey offered Kiffin her doll to play with for while. Kiffin accepted this without hesitation, and played happily for a few minutes admiring the girl's toy. He somewhat reluctantly gave it back soon though.
Back in his room, Kiffin couldn't think of anything that would make him that happy again. However, he spied from the corner of his eye, something his brother had gotten for him. A plush bear in a pink dress lie on the toy chest, it had fallen off his bed somewhat, he loved to cuddle up to it at night. Something wonderful was going through his mind, he grabbed the bear and brought it up to him and smiled warmly at it. Soon he had undressed the plush and took the pink dress for himself. He had pulled it off with relative ease the back being held together on the bear with velcro. He stepped into the top of the dress and pulled it up, it was short on him and get couldn't get it all the way up on him, not with out ripping it, and he wasn't about to do that. As the dress clung tightly to his young body he looked in the full length mirror in his room. What Kiffin saw was a young Pooka girl looking down at her pretty dress, it made her smile so widely, she posed and giggled happily.
The door to Kiffin's room was ajar and walking by was Jery, Kiffin's brother, carrying dinner to his room. He looked in to make sure his sibling was doing alright. What Jery saw as he looked from the side of his head, nearlu made him spill his food and drink. Jery's look was that of concern, not of what Kiffin was doing, but what he though his parents might do if they saw. quickly jery put his meal down on a near by dresser, and hurried to Kiffin. Jery had always thought of Kiffin as his little sister, not his brother, because he knew that's who she was. When he got into Kiffin's room he shut the door behind him.
"Kiffin, please don't do that when your door is open" Jery said in a very sweet tone to his sister. Kiffin turned around when the door shut, relieved to see her brother and hear his voice.
"Do what?" Kiffin asked.
"be dressed like that..." Jery's words trailed off, he didn't want to say that to her, but it had already been said.
"Why not?" Kiffin asked, wondering why she couldn't dress the way that made her happy. Jery didn't answer, he couldn't answer, not with a reason that would be good enough. Jery couldn't do anything but kneel down and hug his little sister. She returned the hug happily. Kiffin loved her brother very much, he was always helping her do things that her mother and father told her not to, even though they made her happy. Jery's eyes started to tear up, and he sobbed to his sister.
"I need to do something Sis." Kiffin nodded, and hugged him tighter, not wanting her big brother to cry.
"Okay, can you help me get dressed again?" she asked, still needing a little help.
"No, you don't need to, wear that if it makes you feel happy" he said as he patted her head and got up, "stay here I'll be back soon" he said to her with smile and went out of the room.
Jery still had tears in his eyes as he stormed off to his parents room. He knocked on the door, rather forcefully, his father opened the door and asked, "Oh, Jery, do you need something?". Jery looked around the room and noted his mother was there as well.
With all his conviction and force he told his parents, "Let's Kiffin be a Girl!" his parents were taken aback by this, it wasn't first time Jery asked for this, but never to sternly, never with such passion, he wasn't done either, "Kiffin has always been a girl, she was never a boy, ever since she was born, all she ever wanted was to be a good girl, but you kept telling her it was wong!" The tears in his eyes no longer being held back he continued ,"You already have a son, let her be your daughter like she's suppose to be! Please, just let her be herself" Jery flew from the room and rushed to kiffin's side once more.
"I'm sorry sis, I've tried to do what I could for you, I just never could do enough." Jery said to his little sister apologetically, and hugged her compassionately. Kiffin herself was starting to tear up seeing her brother so sad.
"I love you so much big bwother" she said through her tears. The two of them held each other for what seemed like hours. Once Jery had regained his composure, he looked at his watch and noticed it was late.
"Oh, I'm sorry sis, I forgot to ask if you would like some dinner, and then I can get you ready for bed, okay?" Kiffin nodded to him with a smile on her face, something Jery loved to see, especially since it was so rare.
After Jery and kiffin shared dinner together they headed to the bathroom so that Jery made sure Kiffin brushed her teeth, then back to Kiffin's room. Jery then got out something he had been saving for kiffin for a while, not sure it would be okay, since their mother usually woke her up. "I've got a present for you Kiffy" Jery said, as he held the white box wrapped in a pink bow out for her.
"What is it?" Kiffin asked curiously.
"Open it and find out." Jery told her. She did as told and untied the pink ribbon from the box and took the lid off, inside was a light pink cloth. Once she pulled it from the box, it was revealed to be a nightie, in her size. "I'll bet you'll like wearing this much more than your usual pajamas" Kiffin looked at her brother brightly and bounded into a hug toward him. "thank you so much!" she exclaimed in joy. "I also got you some panties to go with it." Jery told her, motioning to the box again. Indeed inside was a pair of pink satin panties, they matched the nightie perfectly. Kiffin hugged Jery again as tight as she could. After their hug Jery helped his sister into her new pajamas, and tucked her in. "Good night, my precious little sister." Jery said to her as she nodded off to blissful sleep, before which she managed a drowsy "Night Night" to her brother.
Closing the door to Kiffin's room, jery looked down the hallway to his parents room and saw his mother coming out, presumably to do what Jery had already taken care of and tuck Kiffin in. Jery looked at her with a slightly angered look, and huffed off to his own room. He didn't care if his mother saw the nightie and panties Kiffin was wearing, but hoped she would see her asleep and leave her alone. Back in his room Jery finally got into his own bed and hugged one of his pillows tightly, "I'm sorry sis, I wish I could do more."
The next morning, after Jery got up, he went downstairs to go eat breakfast sure that all the events of yesterday were just a dream. Seeing the dinning room table told him differently, there was kiffin, in the pajamas he had give her. Even more shocking was the fact that both his mother and father were there too. His somewhat dumbfounded look made Kiffin giggle when she looked over to him. "Mom, Dad? Sis?" He looked quizzically at the adults and his mother nodded to him, and motioned for him to come and sit down.
"Jery we should talk after breakfast," His mother told him. Jery nodded and sat at the table.
"I guess I kinda like having both" his father laughed, not mentioning anything in specific. Their mother had made pancakes for breakfast. Kiffin tried to get some herself, but eventually needed Jery to help. Kiffin was smiling happily the whole way through breakfast and on into getting ready for the day. She went into her room and waited for her mother to come and help her get dressed as she usually did. Her mother had told her that it may be a little longer before she got ready than usual today. Kiffin was happy, her parents finally let her be who she was, she didn't know why, but she hoped it was because her brother asked them too.
"You were right, about everything, your father and I just didn't want to accept it, but seeing you so concerned and seeing her so happy this morning in those clothes..." Jery was taken aback by what his mother just said to him.
"We thought about it last night, and we decided that Kiffin should be happy, and if that means she's a girl, then so be it. We got her something last night after the two of you were asleep." His father said as he handed Jery a white box, much like the one he had Kiffin's nightie in.
"I think you should give it to her." said his mother. Jery opened the box and inside was a simple blue dress with a simple but elegant collar. it came with a pair of matching blue socks. "we'll take her to get more clothes later, but this should be okay for now. And we've already arranged it so that she will be enrolled in school as a girl." his Mother told him.
"Now go give our daughter her new outfit!" his father said to him and pointed to towards kiffin's room.
Kiffin continued to wait patiently for her mother to come, but when the door opened she was surprised to see her brother standing there. "Hiya sis!" Jery said smiling at her, the box behind him.
Kiffin giggled and asked "where's Momma?" Jery sighed happily and held out the box to Kiffin. "Another present?" she asked.
"This one's from Mom and Dad" he told her, as he gave her the box to open. Kiffin was shocked to see that inside was a blue dress with a a pair of matching blue socks. " Let me help you put it on. They told me that you can do what makes you happy now, all you want. They said you can be a girl." Kiffin looked at her brother with bright loving eyes, ecstatic about what she just herd.
"Really?" she asked, needing to be sure. Jery nodded to her, hugging her tightly. After their hug Jery took off Kiffin's nightie, telling her to put her arms up, he slipped the dress on her, and adjusted it. He then began to put on her socks, after he got the first one on, and went to the second kiffin asked, "Can I go to school like this too?"
Jery Smiled happily and replied, "Of course, Mom and Dad already took care of that!" Kiffin smiled at him and couldn't think of anything to say, the way all this made her feel, it was...Beyond Words.
