(While Alyssa is talking beauty, Vael waits for the Pokémon to finish their checkup then gets back to more training and then some fun. We'll meet back up with Alyssa towards the end of this chapter.)

Vael watched as Alyssa left and then diverted his attention to a window that pointed straight at the gym. He started contemplating his next battle and what he could do without any real strength on water Pokémon. At least he wasn't at a type disadvantage. He just didn't have an advantage. That will reduce accuracy if it hits. And to top it all off, Mothim has protect so what I'd like to do is work on reducing the gym leader's fighting ability by summoning you guys in and out of battle. It will be some switching, but we need to practice on timing and when to do it. It's no good captivating or charming the enemy if he can't see you after that sand attack. So let's practice on making those moves hit as often as possible."

His Pokémon nodded in understanding, taking everything he said to heart and understanding perfectly what he wanted to do. He wanted to annoy the leader into making rash moves and make bad calls. It was a good plan and they all looked at each other, nodding once more, this time to each other.

"Mightyena, do you mind being target practice? We'll work on sand attack since I have a feeling that if Eevee starts to work her charm training will be over in no time." He chuckled as Eevee looked innocently to the others. "And I'd like her to work on Captivate with Purrloin since it won't affect her...at least...not related to battle. I've seen you girls have your fun with each other so I actually want your practice to really be talking about ways to swoon some males if there are any to fight. I know Purrloin is pretty creative so together you two should be able to come up with something when I ask for the move."

The females winked at each other as their minds already started to twist and turn with ideas, but for now they looked back to Mightyena who strolled out towards the water since he had been asked to be target practice. Vael chuckled and nodded. "Okay now Mightyena...your whole plan right now is to dodge sand attacks. I won't call any other moves so it means no surprises...which also means you'll both have to be creative on how to either hit with or dodge the attack. Also, if you do manage to get hit by the sand attack, there is plenty of water nearby to wash out your eyes. Unfortunately, since we're fighting water types they'll probably be able to do the same thing...but at least it can buy us some time to think up something else. Now Purrloin...use Sand Attack!"
