Party Crasher (WIP)
A story I've been working on for practice. It was going to be a two part story but I've had to make some changes to it for the full thing. Its a story about a lynx's chance to talk to the girl he's been crushing on for years but never had the courage to until now. However these plans are interrupted when there is a inmate on the loose. I hope you enjoy it and if you want, please do leave comments. If you want to, give critic or advice on how to improve or even if you just say you liked or hated it. I'd love to have any feed back.
Gerald sat back in his chair, waiting for the bell to ring. The lynx looked up to the clock on the wall of the classroom. He could have sworn that he saw the second's hand moving in slow motion. God, he wanted todays class to be done with, it was driving him nuts. He scanned around the room, looking at the others. His class mates were all off in their own little worlds. Some quietly chatted when the teacher wasn't looking, others texted on their phones, and some merely rested their heads on their arms just waiting like he was. The student on his left, a grey wolf, was sketching in his note pad, drawing out the phrase, "Highschool Blows!" with several small pencil illustrations around it. This was typical behavior on a Friday in highschool. Everyone was eager to be done with all their classes and start the weekend. But for Gerald, it wasn't just any Friday. His best friend Rick had invited him over for the night, along with several girls from school. A couple of weeks ago, Rick's parents told him that they had to leave on some business trip that couldn't be avoided, and that he'd be alone the entire weekend. As soon as he received the news, he texted Gerald when he was alone and told him the news. A day or so later, when they were having lunch at the school, he invited several girls over, saying they could "Watch a few movies together" or something. He didn't let it slip that his parents would be away until the end of their conversation. Then there was promise of booze, debauchery, and more. A couple of the girls were reluctant at first, but when their friends jumped at the chance, they followed along. All the girls he invited were among the cutest and most beautiful in the school. And most importantly, one that Gerald had been crushing on for five years, ever since 7th grade, Halsey Sharz. The mountain Lioness was one of the schools best basketball players having been on the team from her freshman year. She also happened to be a straight A's honors student.
Problem was, he wasn't the only one crushing on her. There were at least 30 other guys and even a couple of girls who liked her. Many had asked her out and gone on dates with her (mostly the jocks of the school), but she never did seem to go out with them for long. Gerald on the other hand, had never had the courage to ask her out, or even to try and talk to her. He didn't consider himself attractive in any sense. Being a nerd, he was nowhere near as muscular or fit as the jocks, and couldn't compare to them in a physical sense. While he wasn't fat, he was self-conscious of the excess he did have, giving his belly just enough of a noticeable roundness to it. While his friends told him that he should take the insults others throw at him with a grain of salt when he was called fat, it still hurt nonetheless. And also, given that one of the football jocks, Marcus Brant (a leopard that just about every girl in the school swooned over) had tried to ask her out and was turned down, made Gerald even less confident about his chances. He was lost in his own thoughts when he heard the bell ring. Immediately, every student stood up and rushed out the door, blowing past several other students who were already scrambling toward the exit. He made his way to his locker, when he noticed Rick just ahead.
"Hey, Rick!" he shouted so the tiger could hear him in the noisy hall. Several people bumped into Gerald as he peeked above who he could in the crowd, which wasn't very many given that he was an unimpressive 5'10". Rick looked over smiling and pushed his way through the crowd to him.
"Hey, buddy. Tonight's the big night." Rick said
"I know, it's felt like an eternity though. It's like class is never going to end."
"Heh, I know what you mean." Ricks smile broadened, "So, you going to try and talk to Halsey beforehand?"
"What? Hell no! Are you nuts? I honestly don't know why you invited her."
"Why are you talking like that? I know you've had a crush on her since before even I got laid for the first time. You're not going to chicken out are you?"
"I don't know. Maybe?" he said, now at his locker. He took out an assortment of books and replaced the ones in his backpack. "I mean, she turned down Marcus Brant. Freaking Marcus Brant, the guy who's dated more girls than every other guy in this school combined. If she turned him down, then what chance do I have?"
Before he could answer, the second bell rang signaling everyone to get to their next class. They walked together as they both had science class next.
"Oh, I wouldn't be so critical. I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised later on my pointy eared friend. She might have already taken notice of you." He said, but his smile had gone from a contented look, to a sneaky grin.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, you'll find out later." Rick teased.
"No. What is it? Come on, tell me!" he demanded as they entered the science class and sat down at their table next to one another. Gerald was about to protest to his friends silence, but the teacher walked in at that moment.
"All right class. Today is going to be just bookwork. Turn to page 98 in your textbooks and complete the review section. As always I don't want to hear talking. Now get to work, it'll be due next Monday."
Gerald knew better than to talk during science class, so he dropped the issue for now. But Rick kept giving him these looks that just screamed, "I know something you don't know." And it was starting to irritate him. Through the entire period, Gerald fidgeted in his seat, squirming. At last the bell rang for lunch, and once more the students bolted out of their chairs and hurried to the cafeteria. Gerald and Rick headed to the school court yard where all the social outcast groups of the school usually ate. They stepped through the doors and were greeted by a cool breeze. Not cold, but a sharp contrast to the heat inside the cramped halls of the building. Gerald's fur stood for a moment as his body adjusted to the new temperature. They approached the small alcove in the brick wall where they normally went and sat down. Each of them pulled out a sack lunch and began downing it. Gerald woofed it down and glared at Rick, who was still giving him those looks. He was also eating his lunch slowly, purposely antagonizing Gerald. Rick slowly ate his sandwich, and took a long, exaggerated drought from his thermos. Gerald's fur stood up and a low growl emanated from his throat warning his friend that he was quickly losing his patience. A wide grin spread on Rick's face. He stood up, and of course, not wanting to be looked down on, Gerald stood as well. Rick leaned against the brick wall and looked at Gerald who was still glaring daggers at him. Rick's eyes flicked to look over Gerald's right shoulder, and then back to him. Gerald raised an eyebrow in a quizzical expression and Rick repeated the action. Now Gerald glanced over his shoulder and he felt his heart stop a second. Walking towards him was Halsey Sharz. Her blue eyes were locked on his own as she closed the distance between them. Several other girls walked with her. Gerald guessed they were the others that Rick had invited.
When they got close, her eyes switched over to Rick, "Any change in plans?" she asked, a soft smile across her muzzle.
Rick was still as cool and relaxed as he ever was. "Nope. Parents still gone, and doors still open."
Halsey then turned her gaze to Gerald, and looked him up and down, "Looking forward to it. I'll see you tonight Gerald." She said, with a tone in her voice that made Gerald's fur tingle. She turned around and flipped her tail under his chin as she left and they walked away, several of the others giggling. Gerald watched the group as they left, mostly Halsey though. It wasn't until now that he noticed his body was shaking slightly and his legs felt weak. He slowly turned his head toward Rick. "What was that?"
Rick still wore that same stupid grin on his face, "I may have told her about you."
"You what?"
"Well, it was more like her asking me really. She was a bit curios about you."
"Seriously?" Gerald couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Oh yeah, dead serious. Turns out she's actually been wanting to meet with you."
"Rick, I swear to the gods, if you're messing with me, I will shove my foot so far up your-." He began to threaten, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
"Hey, relax Gerald. I promise I'm not lying." He said calmly. Gerald let go of him and backed up a couple of steps. "Come on. Have I ever steered you wrong?"
The lynx cocked an eyebrow, thinking of the many times his friend had gotten them in trouble.
"Okay, I have....a lot. But not this time. This time I know I'm right." He reassured him. "She really did seem interested when I said you'd be there."
"Why? Why is she interested? What about me interests her?"
"Well for one, you're one of the only guys in school who hasn't either tried to hit on her or acted like some creep around her."
Gerald thought it over a moment, "Yeah, I guess. In a way that would make some sense."
"See? Just play it cool buddy. Tonight you'll find out everything you need to know. And who knows. Maybe you'll find out a LOT more about her." He said nudging Gerald with his elbow.
"I doubt it would go anywhere that far Rick. But........thanks. I'll at least get a chance to talk to her."
The two spent the rest of lunch period chatting outside until the bell. They went their separate ways to class. The last half of the school day was rather uneventful. As the last bell rang, Gerald could barely keep himself from plowing through everyone fighting their way to be the first out the door. As he walked through the hallway at a brisk pace he picked up only a few fragments of conversations looking for Rick.
A blonde wolf was conversing with her friends as they walked slowly in front of him in the hall. The group of females took up the whole pathway, not caring that everyone else was trying to get by.
"Oh my god Chelsey! Where did you get that new phone?" squealed one of the females.
"My dad got it for me! Isn't it so awesome?"
"Isn't your dad a security guard?"
"Yeah. He's not going to be home tonight. He's helping to transport some creep to the prison for execution or something like that. Victor Sceeps or something like that."
One of the other girls spoke up, "You Victor Streze? That psycho that killed like 30 people?"
"Yeah, that's the freak. Honestly, I was too excited about my phone to really listen. I can access internet from just about anywhere with it."
The blonde wolf spoke next, "Oh, did you hear that Varkas Hiltris is going to be in concert soon? I'm like, totally going to get tickets!"
Gerald stopped listening as soon as a gap opened and he forced his way through. He hurried outside in front of the school and saw Rick waiting for him on the side walk. Gerald sprinted over to him, skidding to a halt on the pavement just a foot away from his friend. Rick looked down at his watch. "Hmm. 86 seconds to get out of the building on a Friday. Not bad Gerald."
"So, what time should I be over?" he asked as they began walking down the sidewalk.
"My folks will be leaving around 5:30 tonight. I told the girls to come by around 7:00."
This is going to be one hell of a long wait." Complained Gerald.
"Yeah. Want to hang around the construction site for a bit?"
"Why not? There's not much else to do right now."
Just a few blocks from the school there was a neighborhood in its early stages of construction. The landscaping had just recently been complete and now there were wooden skeletons of houses being put up. The construction crews were never around this time of day though. In fact, progress had been called to a halt for the weekend. They left much of the equipment unsupervised though. Needless to say, Gerald and Rick had been shouted at before for playing on and with said equipment. They had even been chased a few times, but never really caught. It wasn't really too dangerous though, they knew enough to not hurt themselves. Although they found out that the workers, while leaving the equipment out, also kept the keys in them too.
It was only a short walk until they were at the construction site. Rick immediately climbed onto one of the wooden house frames up to the second story, standing on one of the large support beams. Gerald joined him, crawling up the ladder on the side of the house. They sat down and talked for a while about pretty much nothing. It was nearly two hours later when they finally decided to head home. As Gerald tried to get down, he fell off into the muddy ground beneath the house. He landed on his feet but when he tried to move, he couldn't. He looked down at his left foot to see that they had sunken into the mud. The suction was so strong that he couldn't pull his foot free. Rick climbed down and came up from behind Gerald. The larger feline grabbed him by the arms and pulled, trying to free him. The two went flying back as Gerald's foot slipped out of his tennis shoes.
"Ah Dammit!" yelled Gerald, having lost his shoe in the thick mud. He reached in and fought around until he could feel his shoe. He tugged it free and held it up by its laces. "Ugh. Hey Rick, do you see a hose around here or something?"
"Over here." He replied, picking up a small garden hose. He twisted the knob getting only a light trickle from the faucet it was connected to. Gerald took it and spent the next five minutes cleaning off his shoe. Once done, he threw the hose into the mud, forgetting to shut off the faucet. He hopped around trying to keep his balance as he put his shoe back on. He bumped into the frame of the house as he fit the soaked tennis shoe on. Above him, a pile of metal rebar shook from the impact almost shaking off the edge.
"Dude, watch it!" said Rick ready to move him out of the way. Gerald looked up, seeing the rebar above him. "Oh shit. I didn't even see those." He said, happy that they hadn't fallen on him. Even though they had stopped shaking, he stepped a safe distance away. Once he was sure that nothing would fall on him, he turned back to Rick. "I'll see you later Rick. Got to make sure my parents don't get suspicious."
"What did you tell them anyway?"
"I told them that we were just going to hang out at your place tonight. They shouldn't bother us at all."
"Good. I'll see you later then man." Waved Rick as he walked away down the street. Gerald turned the other direction and headed toward his own house. All the way to his house he couldn't get Halsey off his mind. "What am I going to say to her?" he wondered in his mind. He didn't know how he could strike up conversation with her. He didn't even know that much about her. He just knew the superficial things, and that wasn't much. These thoughts hung over his head until he finally stepped onto the driveway of his house. It was a decent sized one family house in a rather nice neighborhood called Cedar hills. His father kept the house in good condition and his mother planted flowers and what not over the yard and porch. He walked through the front door inside and was relieved as he felt the air conditioning of his house. As he closed the door his 6 year old sister, Rebeca, ran up and hugged him. "Gerald's home!" she squealed.
He smiled, squatting down to her level to return the hug. "Hey squirt! How you doing?"
She looked up at him and smiled. If he was the same age as her, the two could be considered twins. She matched nearly all of his features, from his eyes to his fur color and pattern. "Hey Gerald! Guess what, guess what?" she bounced up and down with excitement. He chuckled, amused by her. She even acted like he did at that age. "What?"
"Today in school we got to go see the fire department!" She spent the next 20 minutes telling him all about her class's little trip, as he walked into the kitchen and got an afterschool snack. He remembered he did the same thing in first grade but he listened anyway. He climbed up the stairs to go to his room, his little sister bouncing up the steps behind him. Hey Gerald?" she asked in that voice that dripped with cuteness.
"What?" he asked, the question muffled from the half sandwich he had stuffed in his muzzle.
"When I grow up, I want to be a like the firemen!"
Gerald opened the door to his room, "I got to get ready to go somewhere squirt."
"Where?" she asked staying outside his door as he went inside. She wasn't allowed in Gerald's room, she knew that, so she never went in without permission. Gerald set his backpack down. "I'm going over to Rick's for the night. I'll be back tomorrow." He said, and then closed the door so he could change. He quickly changed into a nicer set of clothes, looking at himself in the mirror. Then, he was sure no one was going to come inside his room he reached into the drawer of his nightstand and rummaged around until he found his dads bottle of cologne that he snuck when he wasn't paying attention. He had never used anything like this before, but he knew his father used it often. Being a business man, appearances were important. Gerald pulled of the cap and took a whiff. The smell was...............unique. And also very strong, making him gag a little. He decided not to use much and put a small amount on his hands and rubbed it through the fur on his face and neck. Once he was satisfied, he left his room. He felt both excited and a bit scared. He still didn't know what to say to Halsey yet. When at the stairs he saw his mother walking up them. She was dressed up for some reason, like she was going out. When she saw him she stopped, "Oh good, you're home sweetie."
"Mom, what are doing?" he asked.
"Me and your father have to go out tonight. We're having dinner with his boss. If it goes well, your father might get a much needed promotion. I'm going to need you to stay home and watch your sister."
Gerald felt his heart drop, "But- but Mom! I was going to spend the night at Rick's place." He pleaded.
"Well I'm sorry. You'll have to go some other time."
"But Mom, I told Rick -"
"I'm sorry dear", she interrupted him, "But you'll have to stay home tonight. You can go to his house next weekend, but we can't just skip this dinner, it's too important to your father. So we need you to stay here and watch your sister." She walked up the steps and sniffed the air as she passed Gerald. "Thomas?" she called out, "I think you went a little heavy on the cologne! I can smell it from down here!" she continued passed Gerald who stood on the stairs, stunned at his turn of bad luck. His ears flattened on his head and he looked at the floor. He was going to miss his chance. After several moments he sighed and walked down the stairs into the living room and plopped down on the couch. Rebeca was watching some children's TV show. His mind raced to find a way to get out of this. A babysitter? No, his parent surely would have checked already. "Could he sneak out and return before his parent got back later that night? He thought it over for a minute then decided it was too risky. He hung his head in defeat. His one chance at getting to talk to Halsey alone was ruined. What was she going to think of him for not showing up?
It only took a few more minutes for his parent to prepare. Before they went out they both talked to Gerald. He stood up as they addressed him, quizzing him on his responsibilities while they were away.
"You know all the numbers in case anything happens right?" his mother questioned. His father beside her.
"Yes Mom." He said in a dejected tone.
"Good. There's leftovers in the fridge and I left you some cash on the counter if you two want pizza." She kissed him on the forehead, then turned to Rebeca, standing beside Gerald and kissed her too. His father then hugged them both. "We'll be back late tomorrow." He said.
Gerald's ears perked up. Had he heard that right? "Wait. Dad, did you say tomorrow?"
"Yes I did." His father replied." This dinner will last a long time and its quite distance to the city where my boss works at. Because of this, we're going to a hotel. We'll be back tomorrow afternoon. All of Gerald's hopes returned at that moment. He could definitely get home before them now. His parents walked out the door and into the car. It wasn't until he saw them drive off that he let a grin spread over his face. He was almost purring he was so excited. He sat down and waited a few minutes to make sure his parents didn't forget something and have to come back. Rebeca crawled up beside him with the remote to the TV and flipped through channels. He looked down at her, "Hey Rebeca. I need you to do something."
"Huh?" she tilted her head and looked up at him.
"I need to go somewhere for the night but Mom and Dad can't know, alright?"
"Where are you going big brother?"
"I need to go to Rick's house, and I need you to stay here. Can you do that?" he asked.
"But, I'm hungry!"
"Ill warm up the leftovers for you."
Her face scrunched up, "But I don't want meatloaf again. I had it yesterday! I wanted pizza."
"Well I'm sorry, but I can't stay here. I'll get you pizza tomorrow morning." He said. He didn't trust her to pizza delivery. But she would be fine here by herself. He just had to make sure the doors were all locked and that she was in bed.
"Fine." She pouted, crossing her arms.
"And you promise not to tell mom and dad?"
"I promise."
He reached down and hugged her. "Thanks Rebeca." He went to the kitchen and warmed up her dinner. Once she was eating he checked all the door and made sure they were locked. Next he made sure there were no fire dangers or anything. Satisfied, he grabbed his jacket and opened the front door. "I'll be back in the morning squirt!" he locked the front door and took off down the street, leaving Rebeca alone in the house. Inside, Rebecca sat on the couch still hungry. The leftovers her brother heated up for her wasn't much. She looked over at the phone and then the money on the table her parents left them. She hopped down from the couch and grabbed the phone. She was big enough to order pizza by herself. She was going to turn seven in a couple of months. She dialed the number for pizza delivery.
Gerald sprinted knowing that Ricks house was more than ten miles away. He lived in the rural area just outside of town, in a house fairly hidden from view of the main road. It took some time but soon he was walking up the driveway to Rick's. He knocked on the door panting. It was already dark outside with the last rays of sunshine disappearing over the horizon. The door opened and Rick stood in the doorway eying over him. "Dude, you look like you just ran a marathon!"
"Didn't want -*huff*- be late." He panted out.
"Well come on in." he stood out of the way letting his friend inside. Gerald walked inside after recovering for a few seconds and immediately saw several bottles of alcohol on the dining room table, along with a variety of foods.
"I've got everything ready for tonight."
Gerald looked around. The place was cleaner than usual. "How much longer till they get here?"
"Not too much longer," replied the tiger. Rick handed him a soda from the fridge in his kitchen. Gerald popped the tab and drank down as his friend continued, "Also, I set up my parents' room for you and Halsey."
Gerald nearly spat out his drink when he heard this, "YOU WHAT?!"
"You heard me." The tiger grinned. "I have it all set up for you two."
"Um-I. Rick you-"he stuttered, "Rick, I think you're way overestimating my chances. I mean, I know you're good with women but- "
"But nothing man!" interrupted Rick, "Believe me when I say you've got nothing to worry about. Just be yourself and it will all work out."
Gerald sat down on the couch, still unconvinced, "If you say so." Rick sat down beside him and flipped on the TV. There was nothing of interest on so he left it on the news. Only a few minutes later there was a knock at the door.
"Ready dude?" asked Rick, a wide smile across his muzzle. Gerald stood up and popped his neck, sighing, "I guess so." His stomach felt uneasy, and his heart rate increased. He still didn't know what he was going to say to Halsey.
"Like I said man, don't be so nervous. This will all work out for the best. Trust me." HE gave his friend a warm smile and patted hi8m on the back. Gerald still wasn't sure, but he was glad his best friend was being so supportive.
"Alright. I'll try. And Rick............thanks."
"Hey no problem buddy." He said walking to the door. When he opened it, several females from school stood at the door. Amongst them were Halsey, a leopard, a wolf, a tiger, and a lioness. Gerald recognized all of them as seniors, and each was incredibly gorgeous. He even had a few classes with them.
"Ladies! So glad you could all make it!" he said letting them in.
"Wow, the place is cleaner than last time Rick" said the tigress.
"Yeah, and you've got more food this time too." Commented the lioness.
Gerald turned to Rick, "Wait. You've done this before?"
Rick couldn't hide his grin. "Well, not more than one before." Gerald chuckled a bit, shaking his head.
"What, you disappointed buddy?"
"No, it's just that I should have expected with you." He laughed. All the girls except for Halsey all huddled against Rick. Each one seemed to be very familiar with him, which did nothing to surprise Gerald. Horn dogs could learn a thing or two from Rick. Gerald felt someone tap him on the back. When he turned around, he saw Halsey standing in front of him.
"Hey." She said, in a soft voice.
"Oh, hello Halsey." He replied, already feeling the fur on his face grow warmer.
She smiled warmly, "You're friend told me you'd be a bit shy."
He rubbed the back of his head, "Uh, yeah, I'm not very good at........................socializing."
"Well, I've been wanting to speak with you for some time now to be honest. Come on, let's go sit down and talk." She said, grabbing his hand and leading him to the couch. They each took a soda from the table on their way.
"What about your friends?" he asked.
Halsey looked over to the others, who were already getting very comfortable with Rick. "I think their rather preoccupied." She smiled.
Gerald couldn't help but to be nervous now. "So, umm, what did you want to talk to me about." He asked meekly.
"I wanted to talk about you."
"Me? What about me? There's not exactly a whole lot to talk about."
"Well, I can think of a few things. I've noticed you looking at me during class."
Gerald was sure his face was bright red now. Did she think he was a creep? "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel weirded out or-"
"No, it's okay. I didn't think much of that. You weren't making me feel weird at all. It's just that at the same time you seemed to avoid me. If I ever tried to find you, you were usual just gone. Why didn't you ever try to just come out and talk? Your friend told me you're interested."
"He told you that?" he asked, wishing he could hide in a hole now.
"He did. Now, at least tell me why you're so scared to just go up and talk to someone." Her tone wasn't demanding, rather soft and comforting.
"Well, again, I'm not good at talking to people. And also, I know you've turned a lot of other guys down. Heck, you turned down Marcus Brant. He's like the schools number one bachelor."
She snorted, "That idiot? Please, he was as shallow and dumb as they come. It was obvious that he only wanted one thing from me. I don't see why other girls practically worship him. He's nothing spectacular, believe me." She seemed to be completely honest with her opinion, "Is that why you were afraid to ask me out? You thought you weren't attractive enough?"
"Well, yes, that's one reason." He said quietly, not knowing where this conversation was really going.
"Listen to me Gerald." She said, though with a noticeable amount of authority in her tone now, "Don't you ever think that, no matter what someone else tells you. Sure, you're not muscular or trim, but you're not unattractive. From what I've heard, you're smart, polite, and very sweet. And besides, I think you're kind of cute. So, why don't you think yourself attractive?"
Gerald felt his blush deepen. "I've never really thought much of myself. And looking at you, someone so stunningly beautiful, and so intelligent, I really never thought I stood a chance. You were just on such a higher level than me. Hell, I've always thought myself on the lowest level." By now, Rick and the other girls were making out in the kitchen, which could be heard clearly in the living room. While that distracted Gerald, Halsey took his paw in hers, snapping his attention back. "You know what Gerald? Forget about all of that. Don't even think about what level you think we're on. Don't think about the others guys at school. I want to talk to you, and I want you to talk to me. As far as you're concerned, nothing else exists. I just want you to relax and talk to me." For some reason, hearing her say that, he felt more at ease, and a soft smile came over his muzzle. For some time they talked to each other. They talked about school, their classes. They learned that they played some of the same video games, and that they watched some of the same shows. Time didn't seem to matter to the both of them. It wasn't until their drinks ran out did they take a pause. They got up and walked to the table to grab more soda. As Gerald reached to take another he saw Rick whisper something in Halsey's ears that made her face slightly blush under her fur, but when he finished she smiled looking at Gerald. She approached him, grabbed his hand, and then began leading him down the hallway.
"What- Where are we going?" asked Gerald.
"Somewhere to make this night even better for both of us." She replied. It wasn't until Gerald saw the bedroom door did he catch her meaning. "Wait, Halsey! Are you sure you want to do this?"
She opened the door, "Of course I am." She giggled. She brought him over to the bed.
"Halsey, I appreciate the thought, but I'm not sure if- MMMFFF!" he was cut off as she pressed forward and kissed him. All the resistance and fear he had earlier seemed to dissipate immediately. He kissed back wrapping his arms around her. After several long moments, she quickly broke away and then pushed him back on the bed. Before he could do anything, she pounced him, pinning his arms back and kissing him once again. For several minutes they did just that. Then, Halsey sat upright, straddling him. Looking down at him, she casually reached down and gripped the hem of her shirt. Gerald watched, wide eyed, as she slowly peeled off her shirt. She grinned looking at him, enjoying the effect she was having on him. She tossed her shirt away across the room. Under it, she wore a plain black bra. After a time of Gerald simply just lying there stunned, she reached down and guided his hand to her hips. He carefully traced her figure up. She had a very athletic frame, and her fur was like silk. He carefully moved his hands upward until they were at the small of her back. Even though he was no longer really scared, he knew his face was a bright red underneath his fur, and his face felt warm. He looked up into the mountain lioness's face and saw that she seemed to be doing the same. Before he could go any further he heard Ricks voice. "Hey Gerald! You're going to want to see this!"
Gerald groaned. What could be so important that it had to interrupt what he was just doing? Halsey quickly climbed off of him and he stood up, walking to the living room. The TV was still on the news channel, but right now the message on the screen shocked him. Rick turned the volume up for all to hear. The news anchor came through clearly, "This just in, the serial killer known as Victor Streze, has broken loose from police custody. Hours ago, while being transported to Harson maximum security prison, the transport collided with a semi-truck. During this accident, Victor made his escape, killing several policeman along the way."
"Oh gods." Said the tigress, who was clinging onto Rick's left arm. "I hope they catch him soon."
The news anchor continued, "Victor Streze was last seen heading due east, and there have been possible sighting in Cedar hills."
Gerald's eyes widened upon hearing this and his stomach dropped. He felt his face lose all of its color from earlier and his mouth was a gap. Without another thought he ran to the front door.
"Whoa, Gerald what's up?" called out Rick
"My sister's home alone!" he yelled not stopping. He shot down out the door and down the street. In his mind, he hoped and prayed, 'Oh please be okay. Rebecca I'll be there soon, just please be okay.' Inside Ricks' house, Halsey retrieved her shirt and headed out the door. "Where are you going?" asked one of her friends.
"Gerald just sprinted out the door after hearing there's a madman out. I'm going to see what's up." Without waiting for anyone to say anything else, she ran out the door, trying to catch up with him.
Back at Gerald's house, Rebecca was alone in her room playing when she heard the doorbell ring. "Pizza!" she exclaimed running out to the living room where the front door was. She was about to open it when a fist came through the window and reached down to the locks inside. The hand undid the bolt and lock, then the door swung open. In the doorway stood a large grey wolf. He wore bright orange clothing, and broken hand cuffs hung from his wrists and ankles. In his hand he gripped a large metal shard, painted a deep crimson hue that seeped onto his fingers. Two menacing eyes glared at the small girl as she shrank back, instantly terrified at his presence. Without a word, the large wolf lumbered towards her.
