Grandma, there's a wolf here for dinner..." Chp 23
#23 of “Grandma, there’s a wolf here for dinner…”

We rematerialized just outside of Aedan's study. Kyle held me in his arms looking at me as he slowly returned to human form. There was a din of noise arising from within which drew Kyle's attention. He looked down at me, "Are you alright?" he asked softly. I nodded. He allowed me to stand on my own before turning to Gran and the others with a quick nod. He strode quickly towards the study where the entire remaining Lycan Councilmembers, about 15 other unknown lycans, the full Witches Council, Bernie, Gordon, Blake and Kevin had been secured.
"What's the situation?" Kyle yelled. Kevin, who had been talking with Aedan, turned to his brother and gave him a surprised, but appreciative, look before responding, "Multiple explosions in various areas of the city. There may be causalities, but we are not certain. This was choreographed to ensure the escape of certain individuals."
"I'm guessing many of them are from Donahue's Clan," Kyle growled. "We'll worry about them later." "BLAKE!" Kyle yelled and grabbed his attention away from Gordon, "I need you, Bernie, Gordon, and Eli to spread out and work with city officials and coordinate first response efforts." He whirled around and faced Aedan, "Aedan, how many hospitals, fire departments, and law enforcement agencies are there within the city?"
He began to pace back and forth, "We are also going to need to shore up security in a hurry. We're vulnerable at the moment. They could use this time to prepare for a second attack," as he thought out loud, "Councilmember Douglas..." he began to say when he realized that I and every other person in the room was dead silent.
He froze in place for a moment, then turned around to face all of us. "I...I am" he faltered, "I am sorry Councilmembers. I have overstepped." The air was still, but the force of power, the authority, and the deep concern for the welfare of those in the city and the future of humans and the supernatural world flowed out of Kyle.
Gran spoke up, "Lycan Councilmembers," she asked with humility, "Have you come to your decision?" In turn, each councilmember nodded and kneeled facing Kyle, every other lycan, including Eli and the one human, Gordon, followed suit. The Witches Council bowed deeply, as did the Vampires. I stood beside Kyle but felt movement beside me. I looked down to find Blake and Aedan kneeling. Realizing the implications, I started to kneel as well, but Aedan stopped me.
"You kneel to no one Alpha Mate," Aedan said.
I stammered, "But... but I'm..."
Councilmember Farleigh looked up, "You are the Mate of the First Alpha. Your word is binding. The only one who may overrule you is your mate, the First Alpha. Your strength, courage, and valor was more than proven in your actions in the chambers." He looked to Kyle, "First Alpha," he said taking Kyle's attention away from me, "Worldwide clans, or as known within the states as packs, will be notified immediately. We heed your words and look to your wisdom. What are your further orders?"
Kyle turned to look at Blake, Kevin, Gordon, Aedan, Gran, and then me. I took his hand and nodded. We both knew what had to be done. Time was not something we had the luxury of wasting. "Councilmember Douglas," Kyle turned to the emissary of the Vampire Council, "may I have a word with you, your Blood Brother, and your Mate for a moment?" Dustin nodded.
"Members of the Witches Council, may I ask your assistance in rendering aide to this village at this time, and further assistance forthcoming?" addressing all of them finishing with Althea. Councilmember Tremere spoke up, "D'accord! Of course, we will coordinate with who you choose and assist in any form. We will contact Althea if there are questions to relay them to you." Kyle bowed to the Witches Council, "I am in your debt for the assistance."
"Aedan," as he turned, "may I impose on you to allow the Councils your hospitality and use of your home to coordinate relief efforts and notifications?"
"Aye, First Alpha," as he stood, along with the others; all persons, except one.
"Bernie," he asked grabbing her attention from what was happening around her. "Yes, First...," but Kyle's gaze cut her off, "Yes Kyle?"
"While Aedan is getting the councilmembers settled, would you lead the lycans in the room out and determine the situation within the city? They are to report to you as Head of the Guard of the First Alpha. I will need an updated report for myself and Kevin?" nodding in his direction. "Aedan," returning when the councilmembers are settled please return here."
Bernie stood there with her mouth open. Pride shown wide on Aedan's face for what was bestowed up his sister and the recognition of her abilities. "I, yes Kyle. As you wish. I will have a report within the half hour," she said turning to the other lycans present, "Come you lot..." and began barking orders rapidly.
Bernie, Aedan, the lycan relief, and the councilmembers filed out of the room leaving myself, Gran, Kevin, Blake, Gordon, Dustin, Tristan, and Eli. Eli... Eli who was still kneeling with Tristan crouched beside him and Dustin running his fingers over his head. Kyle turned and moved to Eli and kneeled, "Eli?" he asked softly. There were tears in Eli's eyes when he looked up, but he smiled. Kyle faltered, "Please tell me that I didn't hurt you?" Eli shook his head violently, "Oh no! Please, no First Alpha!"
"Then will you stand please and do me the honour of looking into the eyes of the mate of the Ambassador of the Vampire Council, and my requested Ambassador of the Vampire Realm," as he grabbed Eli's hand. Dustin bowed, "You do me a great honour First Alpha."
"No," Kyle said firmly, "It is you, your mate, and your Blood Brother who does me and the Lycan Dominion the honour. And please," taking in all of them, "call me Kyle." Eli seemed shocked, but pleased. "Why did you stay kneeling Eli?"
The lycan took a deep breath, "The power which emanated from you was tremendous, but further a seer once told me that I would witness a change within the lycan world which would move us into the future, especially within the lycan acceptance of mixed supernatural relationships."
"Wait?!" I blurted out, "you mean that lycans don't like lycans dating other supernaturals even if they are their mates?" Eli nodded, "You were not aware?"
"I'm not a full lycan. I'm actually a warlock. This," as I pointed to myself, "happened due to a wonky spell and someone's overpowering lust for me," rolling my eyes up at Kyle. I reached over to shake his hand, "I guess I should properly introduce myself. I'm Jesse Meriweather."
Tristan gasped, "Huh? Does that mean she's," pointing at Gran, "related to you?" I smiled, "Sometimes I'll admit that she's my grandmother." That comment got me zapped in the pants, "Being Alpha Mate does not entitle you to being a little shit!" Gran laughed with the others as I scowled at her.
Eli continued, "To answer your question though," taking in Kyle's presence as well, "there is a lot of bigotry on mixed supernatural relationships within the lycan world." "NOT anymore!" Kyle said forcefully. Dustin reached out and took Eli's hand, then pulled Tristan close.
"Gordon spoke highly of you all and I need people I can trust at the moment," Kyle continued. "Dustin," he paused looking into the eyes of the new Vampire Ambassador, "If I may address you as such," pausing as Dustin smiled widely and nodded. "I need you and Eli's assistance. We are going to need a wide array of security here and back at home. Right now though I'm worried about the explosions. The mortal world will have felt them and I'm not sure the barrier will prevent viewing of the damage. I'd like to try and mute and curiosity at the moment."
"Why is that?" Tristan asked.
Kyle began to pace as normal when he was thinking, "I believe that this was more than a play to wipe out the councils. This was also to try and break down the psychological barriers of humans to expose our world. To frighten them and thus make it easier to change them using the mutated virus."
"Exactly!" Blake exclaimed, "That was niggling the back of my mind as well. They could have just set a shitload of explosives around the chambers, but they didn't. Why? It could have just been blown off as a gas leak." He paused and looked at Dustin and Eli, "Which by the way is a good way to explain this situation. We could get the Witches Council to spell the damage as a natural gas leak since homes are hooked up to receive it. This would satisfy the authorities and a few well-placed hypnotic suggestions by some vampires..." getting the same wide smile as Dustin, Eli, Gordon, and Kevin.
"I'll need access to a couple of computers, upgrade their security protocols, so that I can access the web links for secure vampire networks I designed for the covens. I want to have those available, but I think a face to face with two covens should provide the assistance," Dustin said pulling out his cell phone.
"Why not just have Gran, myself, or some members of the Witches Council pop over and notify them?" I asked. Dustin shook his head, "Won't work. We have wards up that prevent unauthorized materialization within the covens, plus the new security systems wouldn't recognize you and then..." as gave a grave look.
He finished typing a message into his phone, "There, I just sent a text out to our tech department and Tristan's boyfriend should have already let all the covens know of the new First Alpha."
"Aye!" Aedan yelled coming back into the room, "I can have computers ready an accessible. I'll have them brought in here in a few. Kyle, we'll use this area as a staging area to get things set up." Kyle nodded.
"Boyfriend? But I thought," refocusing on that part, I paused and blushed. "My mistake," I apologized through the redness.
"Oh there's no mistake," Eli grinned. "I'm assuming you're enough wolf to smell us on each other?" I nodded, "That's why I kinda assumed. However, we all know what assume means."
Dustin laughed, "That's true! But in this case," pulling Tristan and Eli closer, "You are entirely right. The fourth party is Sean, Tristan's boyfriend, and our other Blood Brother. He's human." "WAITTT!" Gordon spoke up, "He's human, but a Blood Brother, explain?"
Eli grinned and waggled his eyebrows, "There are other types of fun body fluids besides blood that can indicate this type of thing, well at least to us." Blake looked down and then the three of us before bursting out in laughter, "Oh we know all about that, don't we?" If Kyle's grin got any larger he'd have overtaken Blake's. Gordon started laughing. I could only respond with a facepalm.
Kevin looked like he was going to have a stroke. Not from embarrassment but from the visual. He was flushing from horniness. Well, I guess being surrounded by five other horny lycan's and two horny vampires will get to one. Aedan slid in behind him and ground against Kevin's ass, "You like that idea laddie?"
"OH FOR THE LOVE..." as the sound of thunder crackled through the room. I whirled around on Gran giving her a stare. "The only supernaturals who are more sex crazed than lycans and vamps are fairies. We have work to do," she huffed.
"You're right Althea," Kyle said chagrinned. "I need to make some decisions and do so quickly to assure things are addressed. I need it documented so that it can be passed around the city and given to the Lycan Council to spread through the clans and packs."
"Alright," she said eyeing him with a smirk as if she knew what he was going to address. She turned to Aedan, "Where are the computers?" He laughed, "Second floor, 3 door on the left. There are about 6 in there." Gran's eyes flashed and all six computers appeared on a battery of tables.
Kyle moved towards them with Dustin and Eli hot on his heels. "You two take those systems and get through to the Vampire Council. I'd like enough vampires to be able to mitigate human authorities and any press. A simple hypnotic suggestion that the only damage is located in the council chambers. They won't need to see anything else while we deal with it." Eli sat down and began to set up the secure links while Dustin stood over him.
"Aedan," grabbing the lycan's attention from Kevin, "First order of business is to set up government. The Lycan Council will remain but expanded to provide a representative from each clan, or pack, from around the world. The Council will handle day to day laws already on the books as well as lower level disputes, but will look to me for the last word. We'll discuss how any new laws needing to be made will be addressed. Till then all information within clan or pack issues are to be made public, as well as a discussion for the benefit transparency. However, as of this moment there will be NO discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, or race of the supernatural. That is my final word on the matter."
"Aye Kyle," Aedan grin wide, "I've been thinking we needed new blood and thoughts within the council. All total, there are roughly 75 clans worldwide. Some smaller than others."
Kyle nodded, "We need them to realize that they have a voice within their concern, and can be heard by the council and myself. At this time we need all the support we can get. I want every clan or pack notified immediately about the threat and to post appropriate guards. Further, extend that support to all supernaturals. I want to see if we can set up an exchange situation to assist in security to help protect others."
Kevin frowned. "I know bro..." Kyle paused to stretch his massive shoulders, "We are not going to be able to protect everyone, but I want to provide some sort of logistical support, and for everyone to feel they have a place to go in case of emergency. It's really the best we can do at the moment until we get more information."
Kevin nodded. "Now," Kyle laughed, "you're going to play a big role in all this and a lot more!" Kevin narrowed his eyes, "Oh no! You had better not be going with what I think you're about to do! No way! I like my ability to do research!"
"And so you shall, but for the betterment of everyone and I get to have your eyes on everything!" Kyle laughed.
"Wait?!" I spoke up, "Just what are you getting at?" since I was completely lost. Kyle pulled me close, "Besides your future brother-in-law," he giggled, "meet our new Prime Minister." My mouth dropped open at Kyle's pronouncement.
"I promise that you'll still get to do all the research you want, but I need eyes and ears around me," turning to look at Blake who was trying to sneak out of the room, "which is why smartass over there just got promoted to First Counselor."
"BASTARD!" Blake growled and turned around. Gordon started laughing, "You do know that he has a law degree don't you?" Blake scowled at his mate, "THAT" he huffed, "was supposed to be a secret between us!" "Perfect!" Kyle and everyone else laughed.
Something smacked me in the face after running things through my head. I looked up to Kyle, "You just said future brother-in-law." Kyle smiled widely, "I did. Didn't I?!" I could only nod while realizing the implications of what Kyle was saying and buried my head into his chest.
