In a forest that was coming to the end of fall, there was the most beautiful dragoness that anyone had laid eyes on. She had flowing red hair like me, with bright green eyes, only here scales appeared to be gold colored. She was walking through the forest in a grey cloak and a sapphire blue dress. She stopped when she saw someone coming in her direction. The figure was a human dressed in a white robe and a crystal crown on top of his head. But what caught the dragoness' attention were two things: 1) the human's skin was white.. not merely pale, but white as snow and 2) every step he took, there seemed to be snow and frost growing from his foot prints. He was the Snow King, the deliverer of the snow and the winter itself. He walked along the green grass, waving his hands in every direction, making it snow behind him. The young dragoness hid behind a tree to watch the immortal from a distance. She shivered with the fact that it was getting colder and she found herself drawn to this mysterious ruler. The Snow King stopped in front of the hiding place young dragoness was in. "I won't hurt you," the Snow King told the young dragoness offering her his hand. She looked up timidly and took his hand to stand up. The dragoness came close to the Snow King's body, pressing against his chest and locking eyes with him. "I'm sorry to stare but I'm just so lost in your eyes. It makes me feel safe, who are you.... what is your name?" asked the young dragoness. "I am the Snow King," he said simply. "The Snow-," the dragoness's eyes went wide and fell to her knees, "Forgive me your majesty, I though you were only a myth but now I see you're real... Please don't punish me." But the Snow King only knelt down and gently took her hand and brought it to his lips and lightly kissed it. "Why would I hurt such an innocent, beautiful being like you when you've done nothing wrong to me?" he asked as he helped her onto her feet. "What is your name, my dear?" he asked softly, gently caressing her cheek. "It's Luna, your highness," she said as both their lips slowly drew closer. The Snow King had his eyes closed as their foreheads touched. "Please," he whispered tenderly, "Call me by my childhood name: Jack Frost." "Jack," Luna whispered as their lips finally met.
Then one day, Luna's father, Eldor, was out hunting until he was captured and enslaved by a greedy and vain ruler called Prince Langwidawn. This prince was a hideous creature that had a right eye that was black with a white pupil and a left eye that was green and had a reptilian like pupil. His skin was a deadly yellow and his sharp, crooked teeth were of a decaying brown. Eldor was forced to be the prince's slave but when a sorcerer called Exortos (or the Black Serpent) promised Langwidawn 30 handsome heads if he could help the serpent destroy the Snow King's unborn child and keep Eldor hidden away, the prince enchanted the old dragon into a mirror.
The Snow King, aka Jack Frost, was with his beloved Luna. She held in her arms a baby dragon of blue and beige scales and cute short red hair. "He's the color of your eyes you know," smiled Luna as she nuzzled her newborn child, "and you're powers." Jack hugged his mate and kissed her forehead affectionately. "He'll be a wonderful son," he said. Suddenly, there was a crash from outside, and then a silver dragoness ran into the room. "Mother? What's wrong?" Luna asked the panting dragoness. "He's here... for your... son," she panted and then collapsed into Jack's arms. He picked her up back onto her feet. "Stay here and protect our son," Jack said as he planted a kiss on Luna's lips, "I love you both." She frantically returns the kiss with tears in her eyes. "I love you too," she whimpered. Then Jack went out into the hallway and he was engulfed with flames. The fire swirled around him and then he was sucked into a crystal ball. The one holding the ball was Langwidawn, with a Leopard's head, which was part of the collection, that Exortos had granted the prince. "Two down, three to go," the prince grinned evilly as Jack banged against the glass, demanding release. Just when Luna was about to go after her husband, a huge, black shadow crept into the room. "Nathan... Mommy loves you," she said as she kissed her son's forehead and then holding her hand over the infant, the palm of her hand began to glow yellow and then there was a flash of light and the baby dragon was gone. Just as the infant disappeared, a huge black snake broke the doors down. Luna's mother ran forward, hands glowing white, when the serpent did a tail swipe at her, breaking her spine during the collision and hit the wall hard. "MOTHER!" Luna screamed, but the black serpent noticed her scream. The snake lunged at her and she gave a scream. Back in the crystal ball, Jack heard his wife's screaming and then it ceased. "NOOOO!" he cried out as he banged on the glass then he slid down and broke into tears, just when the serpent slithered back out with blood stained on its muzzle. Then the serpent transformed back into Exortos.
The little dragon was left all alone in a completely different world, a world without magic. But this infant still had some magic within him. He was placed in several homes from time to time. However, it was in his first home that he discovered he had the power to create and control snow and ice. The family abandoned him on the street but then another family found him. This cycle went on for sometime and after being kicked out of the last home Nathan was in when he was 10 years old and the family had hit him several times with a whip. His back hurt and bled as he walked and walked, thinking it was better to be alone than to be around people who treated him like a freak. Then the young dragon saw some fairies in a nearby grove and I think they may have seen him too. They were shocked when they saw the wounds on his back and they asked a nearby feral white unicorn mare to carry him to a cave that had a healing pool inside. Nathan was so tired when he arrived, but the fairies were gentle with him and they nursed him back to health and provided a bed that had a warm drying spell for after being in water and Nathan made his own furniture by using his ice magic. You might say the fairies became his new family. But only time will tell when he will have to face Exortos and free his father, the Snow King.
