Another drabble/snippet written during a period of trying to keep my creative energies flowing between surviving the daily, tedious grind that is Life.


"It just wouldn't work out between us, Sam." The rooster said to the vixen.

"Am I not good enough, Robert?" The vixen asked softly with tears in her eyes.

"You are good enough, honey! It's just..." The rooster fumbled with his words.

The vixen narrowed her eyes at the bird impatiently. "Spit it out! I don't have all day."

"I-I-I-I-I-It's just that I'm a rooster and you're a fox."

"So?" asked the vixen, utterly lost.

"It's obvious why we can never be together." The rooster stated indignantly.

The vixen paused...and then rolled her eyes. "Give me a break. It's 2015."
