A soft groan broke through the audible snoring of the room as Lin began to stir awake. As her senses came to her, Lin found herself entangled in Yasmin's arms and legs, both their hair and fur a matted and disheveled messes. She giggled as she focused on Yasmin's otherwise blissful expression on her face. Lin slowly closed her eyes to fall back to sleep with Yasmin, when a loud buzzing vibrated out through the room. Growling underneath her breath, Lin slipped out from Yasmin, swiping her place out with a pillow so Yasmin could snuggle against it. She took a moment to giggle at the hound before she rolled over to her side to see that it was her phone that was the offender of their peaceful morning.
Lin reached out to the phone to look at the caller ID, perplexed as to who would be calling her this early in the morning. However, she flinched as it showed that her sister, Minore, was the one calling her. 'Why did I even thought this day was going to be peaceful? Can't even go to the fucking mall without something happening.' Sighing, Lin got up from the bed, grabbing her shirt and quickly slipping it on as she answered her phone.
"Hello Lin-Lin, it's been awhile hasn't it?" Min asked on the other side, the sound of her moving around in a leather chair in the background.
Before answering back, Lin looked over her shoulder to see Yasmin groggily rolling about the bed. Not wanting to disturb her lover's slumper, Lin took her call out into the hallway before answering, "And hello to you too dear sister. To what do I owe this phone call? Since you are just so keen on keeping in contact with me. Or even the others for that matter."
"Oh Lin-Lin, I'm hurt. Honestly. You know I love each and every single one of you. I thought that you would be thrilled to receive a phone call from me. You and I were so much closer than the others."
'Wait... oh, right.' Lin sighed as she came to the realization that Min had called because she too was having troubles with her own dragon heritage surfacing up. "Yes, we're so close that we have the same thought."
"Oh?"
"Mhmm. Why, right as I was going to wake up, I was going to give you a call to see how things were hanging on your end," Lin answered, keeping at her facade a little longer before she broke it by saying, "So you touched your roof yet or what?"
Min started laughing, more sounds of her moving around in her chair filled Lin's ear. She assumed that Min had gotten up from her seat or was trying to find a comfortable way to sit. Either way, Lin knew that she had to partially right. "Mmhm, so I take it that you had received a 'gift' from Mother in the past few days then? And I'm sure you've been going through some, how can I say this, changes?"
Lin looked down towards her tail, the flame suddenly sparking to life as if in response of Lin's acknowledgement of its existence. "Yeah. 'Changes,' let's just call it as that. I've wanted to talk to you about it."
"Oh? And what would my precious little sister need from me?" Min asked, sounding none too surprised tone. "It's been awhile since you've-"
"Minore listen." Lin paused, her hand clenched and trembling at her side. After a few moments of silence, she knew that she had Min's attention. "Min... please tell me you know a way to stop it. Please tell me you figured a way to make us go back to normal. Yesterday I... my mate was really scared with what happen. I made her cry Min. And I don't ever want to see that happen again, so please tell me you have a way of stopping what's going on. If I ever hurt her... Min please."
A sigh came from the other end of the phone followed by Min leaning back in her chair some more. "You want my help? Alright, first of all, stop panicking so much; if you're too worried about the what if's then you'll do no good. Secondly, I can't. Simply because I don't know what to do either." Lin's shoulders and tail slumped as she quickly was becoming discouraged from what Min was saying. "I've read the book twice, cover to cover. I had done some further digging into what was happening but all I can tell you is that we're going through a sort of passive metamorphosis. Our bodies are changing is a direct correlation to the environment that we're putting ourselves in."
"What?"
"For instance. I know for a fact that you must be breathing fire every time you get angry or eat something that's volatile, correct? I can only guess that with the question you asked me." Lin didn't respond to Min as she tried to understand what her sister was trying to say. "I'll just take that as a yes. Well, I on the other hand, has also been having some elemental mishaps, but nothing that involved fire breathing. Granted, my tail has been 'on fire' for the last fourteen hours straight, I never had any troubles with breathing fire."
"Th-then what have..."
"Water, if you believe it," Min answered, "For some reason it seems to become every sporadic around me when I'm upset now. So you can imagine that it is quite hard to take a relaxing bath after a long day of work. But anyway, I would be right to assume that you are the one breathing fire then, hm? If that's the case, do your best to keep calm. Then you might really hurt someone.
"Min wait I-"
"Well it's been nice speaking with you sister, but I do have some research to g-"
"I said wait dammit!" Lin shouted, slamming her fist against the wall as her tail briefly erupted in violent colors of purple and pink flames. She breathed heavily for a moment as her sister remained quiet on the other line, frowning no doubt. "D-don't call me and just say that you have no idea what to do, Minore! Th-the one time I need you to be a good sister and help me out, you try brushing me aside. Tell me the truth."
Min sighed. "I have. All I know is what you most likely already know. Is there a way to stop it, yes. Will either of us be able to use it, no."
"Wh-what?" Lin questioned, tears welling up in her eyes. Min was her last hope. If anyone was going to be able to figure this out, it was her. "Tell me Minore please."
"Fine, but it won't do any good," Min sighed again as Lin prepared for the worse. "There's a fruit that grows in the southwest jungles that is said to maintain a dragon's magic. And when I say southwest jungles, I mean those of the Chilean jungles in South America. So unless you have that kind of money to even step foot there, I doubt that would be any help. Sorry, but I really must get back to work. Just remember to stay calm Lin-Lin."
"Min wait please," Lin begged, only to get a dial-up tone as her response. She staggered against the wall, sliding down to the ground as her phone slipped from her hands. Her eyes were focused on no particular place on the wall in front of her while her body shivered and shook slightly. Both anger and sadness clouded Lin's mind as she continued to sit on the ground, balling up and wrapping herself in her tail. She was counting on Min to know a lot more than she did. However, even that failed her. And if Min couldn't find anything, what chance did Lin have?
She tried to blink back the tears filling her eyes, burying her head in her knees as she sobbed. 'Y-Yasmin... I need you.'
As if she was called, Yasmin yawned as she tiredly walk down the hallway holding on a pillow in one arm. Her eyes still half-lidded while her tail dragged on the hardwood floor. '...Bathroom,' was all that bounced around Yasmin's tired mind as she walked. Until, she bumped into something...or someone in this case. 'What did I bump into? Oh...it's Lin,' Yasmin thought as she looked down. "Mornin' Lin, wha-" she yawned, "what are doing in the hallway?" Her voice trailed off, yawning again.
Lin jumped from Yasmin's voice, looking up with slightly teary eyes. She quickly whipped them away as she grabbed her phone and stood up from the ground. Lin forced a cheerful smile on her face so not to let Yasmin know that there was the matter. However, from the look Yasmin was giving her it was evident that she couldn't pull it off quite well. "N-no reason. So how did you sleep, Yasmin?"
Yasmin tiredly stared at Lin far a few seconds before raising an eyebrow. Lin started to fidget under her gaze. Lin's flames dimmed to a dull pink. She yawned again before answering her, "I slept like a log. How 'bout you?" she asked while scratching her belly.
"Sleeping with you is always a good sleep," Lin said with an inwardly sigh, glad that Yasmin's tired brain couldn't stay too focused. "I, uh, just got off the phone with Min, and well..." She quickly thought of an excuse to give herself more time to think about how to tell Yasmin what happened. "I'll tell you over breakfast. How does eggs and bacon sound you?"
Yasmin's stomach rumbled, making Lin chuckle. "I guess that answered that question, meet you in the kitchen then I goin' to the bathroom," Yasmin said as she walked past Lin.
She remained standing the hallway until Yasmin disappeared behind the door. When, she was gone, Lin sighed, bringing her hand to the side of her head to rub at her temple. 'Guh, great, the last thing I want to do now is deal with this stupid...' She paused, taking in a deep breath before exhaling calmly. 'No Lin, calm down. Remember what Min said.' After taking a moment to slowly breath, Lin felt the dull ache in her head eeb away before she walked out to the den, sitting her phone down on the table as she walked into the open kitchen.
'Today is going to be a good day. Today is going to be a good day,' Lin repeated in her head as a motto as she went about grabbing everything she needed to cook the simple breakfast, starting with the bacon first. As she placed the skillet on the stove, oiling the pan up a bit first, Lin's tail began burning brighter as her thoughts to continued to grow louder. 'Nothing absurdly stupid will happen. We'll go to the library, try and find something more about what's going on with me, and then I'll take Yasmin out on a movie date. And nothing, nothing will ruin today.' Lin's tail flared up, almost being completely engulfed in flames before dying back down to a dull hue of purple.
"I won't make Yasmin cry ever again," Lin muttered to herself. Her body flinched as she forgot what she was doing for a moment, quickly snapping back to her cooking as the sound of flushing water reached her ears. 'Wait.' She paused, her ears twitching about on her head. 'Since when can I-' Lin's thought was caught off when the spotted the sink running water, promptly smacking herself in the head when she had forgotten that she had washed a few dishes before starting cooking. 'Good to know I'm still a klutz sometimes, Lin laughed honestly to herself before turning off the sink. She went back to cooking, grabbing another smaller pan for the eggs as she heard Yasmin walk into the den. "Almost done cooking Yasmin. You should put on a shirt or something. You'll catch a cold walking around her butt naked like that."
"Shouldn't you want to see me in all my natural sexy beauty~" Yasmin teased with a slight moan as she flaunted her assets with a pirouette before she sat down at kitchen bar in her naked glory. Yasmin giggled at Lin as she tried to function after her little display. "And plus it my house so I can walk around as naked as I was born if I. Damn. Well. Please."
"Well la-de-da Miss Sassy, let me finish making your meal then," Lin retorted, sticking her tongue out to Yasmin before turning around with a flick of her fiery tail, briefly exposing her nethers underneath her oversized shirt.
"What's there to finish?" Yasmin asked as she got up from her seat slowly making her way towards Lin. Her tail deviously wagged behind her as she sneaked up close to Lin. Her hands softly rested in Lin's waist making Lin jump slightly. But, before she could say anything Yasmin wrapped her hands around Lin's waist pulling her back right up against her chest. One of Yasmin's hands slid inside of Lin's shirt and cupped one of her soft breast as another trailed down south between Lin's legs. "When I can just have you?"
Lin softly hummed as Yasmin groped her breast and teased the top of her nethers. "Mm Yazzie, you're such a naughty little hound. Stop it before I burn the eggs." Her voice trailed off into a soft moan as her tail wrapped itself around Yasmin's leg, both betraying her words. Lin could easily overpower Yasmin, that was a fact neither of them could deny, but she didn't want to run the chance of hurting Yasmin. Having the stove on in front of her didn't help either. "C'mon, I-I know you have to be a little raw from last night."
"Mmm and those orgasms was worth it," Yasmin dreamily sighed, thinking back to last night. "But, from what I remember from last night. They were mostly mine," she said, pinching Lin's nipple and making her hiss. "How 'bout we remedy that right now?"
"B-b-but the eggs..." Lin argued as she wiggled in Yasmin's grip, trying to stay focused on cooking. Her legs shook a little when Yasmin's middle finger found the top of her slit. She tried to keep her legs together to keep Yasmin from having too much access. However, her body again betrayed her as her legs began opening up for Yasmin while her mouth gaped slightly.
"Don't worry about it, I got my eyes on the eggs."Yasmin said slid another finger in-between Lin's legs. The runes on her wrist started to glow as did the skillet and spatula. Yasmin continued to toy with Lin as her magic cooked the eggs. As the eggs finished, the skillet levitated to the back burner. "Good, now that that's outta the way. How about we play?"
Lin groaned in Yasmin's grasp. Her nethers were crying out for attention from her mystical lover, wetting up in preparation. Yet her stomach growled in anger, causing her to moan, "A-and the bacon?" The question was more like a statement as Lin's eyes were drawn to the bacon simmering on the stove. Even though Lin couldn't get a good look, she could still feel Yasmin's eyes rolling as the spatula went to flip the bacon while she continued to tease and play with Lin. "T-that's my girl."
Yasmin nipped the crook of Lin's neck making her let out a soft whine. Lin's hands wrap around her neck for support as other tried to guide Yasmin's finger inside her. "No need to be in a hurry Lin," she said while kissing up Lin's neck. "I'll give you exactly what you want," Yasmin cooed as her fingers slow push into her soaked muff.
"Mm, w-what I want is to bend you over. But this is niiice," Lin sighed as Yasmin's fingers continued to explore her leaking slit. She threw her head back as she reached a hand to Yasmin's thick thighs, giving them a firm squeeze. Lin hummed from Yasmin's fingers and the smell of the food. "That food wouldn't be bad either."
Yasmin slightly growled in annoyance as her magic moved the finished bacon on the back burner and turning off the stove. "Lin," she said in a loving voice betraying the annoyed look on her face. "I know breakfast in an important meal of the day. But, how bout you focus a bit more on this," Yasmin said as she quickly drove her fingers to the knuckle into Lin's folds causing her moaned out. "Instead of the food for a few minutes. Alright?"
Lin shuddered when Yasmin pushed more of her fingers into her lower lips before she turned her head slightly to stick her tongue out. "Your fault for interrupting breakfast."
"Oh, so I'm interrupting breakfast," Yasmin said, feinting like she was hurt. "You want me to stop then?" she asked as she slowly pull her soaked fingers out of Lin's walls, making her whine.
"No~ Don't stop, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Lin begged, pressing herself further into Yasmin as her tail tightly curled around her leg. She rubbed her cheek against Yasmin's, standing up on the tips of her paws and caning her head back to softly nibble on Yasmin's ear. A whiny moan came from Lin as Yasmin teased her flower. "Keep going, please? I'll keep quiet, lover mine."
"Hmm, I guess I can keep going," Yasmin said as she teased her pink pearl before removing her hand briefly making Lin whine again. "But, I happen something delightful in mind." She spun Lin around and moved her counter next to stove. She took off Lin's shirt tossing it to the side before slowly kneeled down leaving a trail of kiss and nips down her flat tone stomach, giving her navel a deep lick and making her body shudder. She spread Lin's legs apart putting both legs on her shoulders giving her perfect access to Lin's leaking slit. She licked side her muzzle as the smell of cotton candy with a hint of feminine musk flow through her nose.
She looked up at Lin with half-lidded eyes as lin looked back breathlessly down at her. "Be the way, don't be quiet, I want to hear you moan my name." Yasmin slowly licked from Lin's taint to the top of her slit giving Lin's clit a flick with her tongue. Lin gasped running her hands though Yasmin's hair. After a few more long licks, her tongue slid into her hot, soaked flower. One of Lin's legs wrapped around Yasmin head trying to get her to lick deeper.
The half-breed shuddered from Yasmin's attentive tongue work. Her head titled back to the top of the cabinet above as she let out a slew of moans and sighs. Yasmin pulled her tongue out of Lin's twitching folds, taking several quick licks of the outer walls before diving back in. Lin jumped slightly from the sudden insertion, hiking her small ass on the counter as Yasmin continued to enjoy her early breakfast. She again pulled her tongue out of Lin's quivering walls, and started to take long slow licks, trying to savor her meal.
Lin whined out Yasmin's name from the tease, huffing and sighing. "Yazzie, don't tease me," She whined has her hands started gently tugging at Yasmin's hair before finding their way to her soft ears. Her ears twitched as she heard Yasmin giggle slightly, turning her head down to see Yasmin's purple eyes staring back up at her as she licked up to Lin's pink nub. Yasmin's lips, those soft, silky lips, easily wrapped around Lin's clit and began sucking, causing Lin to moan out loudly.
Yasmin smirked as Lin's moans raised an octave. 'She getting closer,' she thought to herself as she dove back into her sweet pussy. She greedily slurped down her feminine nectar as she searched for Lin's G-spot. Lin's hands pulled her in closer to her needy folds, she shuddered as Yasmin's cold nose teased her sensitive pink pearl.
"J-just a l-little more," Lin moaned as a shiver went up her spine. Yasmin quickly responded with her tongue darting deeper into Lin's clenching walls, forcing Lin to let out a small spout of embers through her mouth. She took a hand out of Yasmin's hair to bring a knuckle to her mouth, biting down on it to last a little longer.
Yasmin giggled as she saw Lin's struggled to try prolong her oncoming orgasm. Lin's leg wobbled trying to hold her weight as Yasmin's giggle vibrated through her damp core. 'Don't worry Lin, I'll help you out...for now,' she thought to herself with a devious look in her eyes as she slightly slowed down her pace. Lin gasped as Yasmin's tongue nicked her G-spot. Yasmin smiled as she found what she was looking for, teasingly she licked around it and caused Lin to let out more embers of ecstasy. Lin's moans turn to a soft whines, she looked down her violet eyes begging now for her release. 'And I guess now is here,' She thought as she looking back at Lin's pleading eyes. She quickly attacked Lin's G-spot cause Lin to hiss in pleasure. Lin's hands running through her hair as her toes curl. Her tail beaten against the countertop, her body shuddering a final time when Yasmin pushed her muzzle further against her folds.
"Ahh, Yasmin!" Lin howled as she happily released her juices into Yasmin's awaiting mouth. Her voice traveled up an octave or two before erupting into a burst of flames as Yasmin continued to keep her muzzle pressed hard against her spamming walls. Her hips bucked into Yasmin's face a couple of times before she slowly came down from her high. Lin sat down on the countertop, her leg unhooking around from Yasmin's body to let her up. "D-did you enjoy your breakfast treat, lover?"
"Yes, it was as sweet as candy." Yasmin licked her muzzle as she stood in front of Lin. "Taste is reminiscent of cotton candy," she said, downing a cultured british accent. "Why I say that was the greatest tasting delicacy on this side of the pond." Yasmin giggled, leaning in close before pulling Lin into a slow passionate kiss.
Giggling, Lin leaned into the kiss, allowing Yasmin to have lead way as her tongue darted forth into her mouth. She hummed slightly at the taste of herself, her tail happily wagging on the countertop table. Yasmin soon pulled back from the kiss, a tail of clear saliva connecting their lips. "Well I was happy to oblige," Lin spoke, getting a giggle out Yasmin before sliding off the table. "Now if we would like to be a good little hound, take a seat while I fix you a plate."
"I'm bigger that you," Yasmin cheekily said, taking a seat as Lin rolled her eyes and hopped off the countertop. "And that little treat certainly made you day a bit brighter. Oh, how that phone call went anyways?"
Lin stopped in her tracks at Yasmin's question, she looked over her shoulder back to Yasmin before sighing. "It was my sister, Min," she answered, reaching up into the cabinet to grab two plates. Sitting them down, Lin walked over to the draw, opening it up to grab two forks for her and Yasmin. She took this time to think about how to explain everything to Yasmin without making her worry. "Apparently she's having the same kind of troubles as I am. At least I think she is. Min said something about our magic and heritage developing were dependent on the environment we were living in. Still don't know what that means really, but hey, it's something right?"
Yasmin sighed, "Yeah it's 'something' alright. So, I guess we're back to what, square one point seventy-five or point twenty-five?" she rherothically asked with a soft chuckle as Lin walked over to the bar with their plates in hand.
"Heh, yeah, square one... Anyways she said that the best I can do is keep calm. Like that's going to do any good with the way I am," Lin mumbled, setting the plates of eggs and bacon down and began eating. While eating, she kept her voice low as she muttered, "Bet she still holding out something too."
"Hmm, wat 'as hat?" Yasmin asked with her mouth full looking like a chipmunk.
Lin snickered as she tried to hold in her laugh. "Nothing Lady Chipmunk, just wondering if we'll be able to find anything in the library today. If not, then that'll be fine. I'm just happy knowing that I'm not going through this alone. So thanks Yasmin, for putting up with me."
"What type of girlfriend would I be if I didn't put up with you?" Yasmin joking asked, pulling Lin into a hug and ruffling up her hair.
"Yeah, yeah. I just feel crummy that I can't ever repay the favor," Lin said, blushing as she leaned into Yasmin. She sighed in content of the warmth in Yasmin's winter coat. "I mean what happened yesterday... I'm really sorry for making you cry Yasmin."
Yasmin kissed Lin's forehead as a way to comfort Lin. "Don't worry about it, Lin. Your body just going through a lot of changes and urges right now. You know that got me thinking about what happened yesterday," Yasmin said as her train of thought jumped the tracks and landed on another line. "We should probably track your changes."
"Huh, keep track?" Lin mused, tapping a finger to her chin, her mouth full of food. She then began to verbally list the changes her body went through over the past year. "Well the strength, hunger, and energy has been with me ever since puberty. The fire breathing didn't start until I started dating you. Uh... I guess my tail is the third thing to happen so far. And uh, I've been meaning to tell you something Yasmin. That necklace may have something to do with what happened yesterday... maybe."
"Really, hmm so what to do with it then?" Yasmin asked curiosity before a thought popped in her head. "Wait didn't you say you got it from the dragon at the mall, why don't we talk to him about it?"
"About that..." Lin sheepishly laughed. "I kinda got his phone number from Jax last night. I knew he would have more answers, and he is a dragon."
"True," Yasmin said with a nod. "So, when you're going to call him?"
Lin shrugged her shoulders as she nibbled on a strip of bacon. "I was going to call him after we left from the library, but I'm starting to think we'll save a lot more time if I called him now. I have no idea what I'm going to say though." Her voice trailed off into a sigh, mumbling around the strip of bacon in her mouth.
"I don't know. But, he might not be a mornin' dragon," Yasmin said with small giggle. "Try calling around eleven he most likely could be up by then."
"Mm, hopefully," Lin responded with a light laugh before she took a bite of some fluffy eggs. "I'm just hoping this drake will have more answers for me than he'll bring up questions. I'm tired of my bloodline getting in the way of hanging out with you." She added a snort of light-gray smoke through her nostrils to add emphasis to her words.
"You sure the 'treat' isn't the only reason you're tired." Yasmin smugly said wiggling of her eyebrows. Lin cheeks slightly blushed as she shook her head. "But, let's finish up breakfast before we continue on with our day," she said before digging back into Lin's cooking. After a few more minutes, Yasmin finished her breakfast first, standing up from the bar table. "Thanks for making breakfast, I'm going to hit the shower so we can get ready to go," she as she rest her plate in the sink.
"Kay Yazzie," Lin answered with a yawn and a stretch. "Mphm, I might take a nap in the meantime." Lin heard Yasmin snickering at she left to the bathroom. She rolled her eyes as she finished eating her meal, placing her plate in the sink and gathering her blue shirt from the ground. As she quickly slipped the shirt over her body, Lin walked over to the couch and flopped down with a sigh.
She buried her head in her hands, dragging them down her face. 'I can't tell her. I mean, a flower? All the way in some Chilean forest?' Lin sighed as she turned over to her stomach, blowing a small whips of pink flames. She laid there with her eyes partly lowered. She wanted this to stop. Lin was getting more than tired of all of this. For once in her life, she was actually missing being a normal hound. 'I just want this to end. I just a wanted a normal weekend. Can't even ask for that!'
Lin groaned as she turned to her side, laying her head on top of her hands as she closed her eyes. Her tail curled up close to her body, the flames emitting a small purple hue. 'No, today is going to be better. Everything is going to be... alright.' Lin yawned, stretching out before curling up with her tail. 'Guh, maybe I really do need to take a nap. Yeah, napping. That sounds good.' Her eyes closed as she began to drift off to take a short nap, doing her best to ignore the dull ache in her head.
Roughly twenty minutes passed before Lin started to stir back to wake. She hugged her tail tight as the dull ache she's been feeling all morning grew slightly. Now it felt like a consent hum going off inside of her head and on top of that, for some reason, her the top sides of her head itched like crazy. The ache was strong enough to drive Lin to sit up with a pain filled groan.
"No, not now. Go away," Lin mumbled to herself as she forced her body to get off of the couch. Trough foggy eyes, Lin made her way to the refrigerator, almost tripping over the side of the couch. She growled as she opened the door up, reaching for a can of cherry soda. As Lin pulled the can out, a blast of pure buzzing and humming ringed in between her ears, causing her to wince in pain. Growling, she slammed the door shut without really meaning to.
"Keep calm Lin-Lin, keep calm." Sighing, Lin popped the top of the can with her claw, drinking some before walking back to the couch. She sat down on the couch, sitting down her drink and picking up her phone to check the time. "Great, it's still nine. Oh well, wonder if there's anything on TV." Lin tossed her phone to the side of her as she reached for the remote to the television and started to watch anything that would catch her attention on a Sunday morning.
The bathroom door opened up letting out a cloud of steam. Yasmin happily sighed as she walked out the bathroom, towels wrapped around her hair and body. "That felt great, a morning shower does a girl wonders. Hey Lin, I'm done with the shower you can use it if you want to," Yasmin called out before walking back to the bedroom.
"Kay Yasmin, thanks," Lin said as she got up. She rubbed her head, hoping that a nice hot shower would be enough to deal with this awful ache she's been feeling all morning. After finishing half of her drink, saving the other half for after her shower, Lin got up from the couch and walked to the bathroom, groaning. She managed to make her way through the hallway and into the bathroom. The room was still fogged with steam, meaning Yasmin had a good hot shower.
Giggling, Lin quickly removed her shirt and started up her shower. As she stepped in, Lin stopped and took a moment to worry about the flame on her tail. What if the flame was more than she realized it was. But she did need a shower.
"Oh this is going to be tough," Lin muttered to herself as she racked her mind.
Yasmin sat at her vanity, humming a little tune to herself as she brushing her long hair. It was nice and peaceful only the sound of running water was heard. She smiled with a dreamy sigh, thinking back to earlier that morning. But her travel down lustful memory lane immediately stop with a loud shriek. Yasmin yelped as the sound made her fell back out her chair and landed on her back hitting her head with a thud. "...ow."
Yasmin slowly turned on to her stomach with a groan. But, then she pushed herself off the ground as her mind registered the shriek registered. "Shit, Lin!" she bolted from the bedroom and ran to the bathroom door. She turned and pushed the door only for the door to slam shut against her face, making her stumble back and hitting the laundry room door with a thud. She laid against the door, staggered with pain before she pushed herself from it, mumbling, "I sure like to know what I've done for Karma to hit me twice, ow." Yasmin rubbed her muzzle and the back of her head as she went back to the door. "Lin? Hey, guh, Lin? You ok in there?" she asked worriedly, pressing her ears against the door.
"D-d-don't come in!" Lin shuddered from the other side of the door, keeping it closed. Her voice was in a deep panic. "I'm a monster... I'm a real monster."
Yasmin sighed. "Lin, we been going over this before, you're not a monster."
No response came from the other side of the door. Only the sound of slight sniffling could be heard from the other side as Lin slid down to the floor. She merely wrapped herself in her arms and tail, whimpering.
"Lin? Open up, please. I can't help if you want let me," Yasmin begged as her head rested on the door.
A couple of minutes passed as Lin continued to sit on the ground stifling to herself. She wanted to tell Yasmin no, but she knew that it was going to have to happen at some point. With a small shuddering sigh, Lin forced herself off the ground and wiped away her tears. "Y-You have to promise me something first. Promise me that... promise me that you'll know it's me and not scream."
Yasmin smiled. 'At least this is some progress,' she thought to herself. "Lin, I promised but it can't be that bad," Yasmin said while the door slowly opened. "Like what happen, you grew horns or something?" Yasmin snarked with a little laugh as she looked at the opening door.
"Funny you say that..." The door slowly opened up, creaking as it was pulled ajar. Behind stood Lin wrapped in a large fluffy white towel with her pink and gray-parted hair let down still wet from the shower. However, her hair was also now parted with two small black nips at the top of her forehead. "Surprise..."
Yasmin stared at Lin. "I hate it when I'm right," she said with dread, smacking herself in the face. "I guess you got a headache too, don't you?"
Lin shook her head as she again held onto herself for comfort, glad that Yasmin did keep her promise. "N-no... at least, not any more. Been having one off and on for a day now, but they've just," She paused, shuddering. "stopped." Lin's voice trailed off, as though she wasn't even sure if what she said was true or not and that the headaches had fully stopped. "Why you ask? And how do you have a headache?"
"I didn't but falling back out a chair and hitting your head, a door slamming into your face and then falling back against the laundry room door would do that to you," she said, walking pass Lin to get to the medicine cabinet. "You done taking a shower?"
"Y-yeah... I guess. But you okay though? I'm really sorry for closing the door on you. I didn't mean to, honest. I just, I just couldn't bare to let me see you with these." Lin guestered up to her two small horns just barely poking out from her hair. She figured that a hoodie or styling her hair differently would be able to curve attention away from them. "Sorry Yasmin, this whole thing is becoming much more trouble than it's worth."
"Again Lin, don't worry about it." Yasmin said before swallowing an aspirin. "It's like my Mom used to tell me. 'Al mal tiempo, buena cara.' Put on a good face to the bad times. At least we can add this to the list and be positive. We going to the library to look this up, plus that dragon guy so nothing to freak out about yet."
Lin softly laughed at Yasmin's positive attitude. That was one of the things Lin was extremely grateful to have in her life; her mate and good health for the both of them. "Yeah, you're right Yazzie. Once this pass, everything will go back to normal and we'll never have to worry about it again. And soon as my mother and father get back from their trip, I'll have a few choice questions for them."
"Heh, you, your sister, and I most definitely will," Yasmin said, "Like I mean seriously, they coulda at least gave you some cryptic hints to help you through this. Cause I can get that they want you to learn on your own but... Argh!" Yasmin shouted out venting her frustrations abit. Yasmin sighed as turn to Lin. "Sorry, just your mom doin' that just annoys me to no end. I just guess it a dragon thing." She walked over and wrapped an arm around Lin's shoulders. "Let's just go get ready so we can hit up the library and get some 'edumaction' on."
Lin giggled as she walked beside Yasmin. "Okay, okay. Gee, never seen you so thrilled to spend time at the library before," she said, opening up the bedroom door before they got dressed. Just as Lin through, a simple light-purple hoodie was enough to cover up her small nibs on her head. Following up with that, she simply dressed in a pair of blue jeans and gray shoes. Finished, Lin sat down on the bed and couldn't fight the urge to run a finger along the black nubs. She shuddered slightly as she could tell they were just as sharp as her claws and were just as, if not more so, dense as them as well. 'Really hope they don't grow any bigger.'
Yasmin was putting on the finishing touches on her outfit. She was dressed in a white and black striped shirt and black jeans with a purple light parka left opened. "Thank Cerberus for winter coats. I'll feel bad for the morphs that don't have winter coats have to deal with thermals," she said, loosely wrapping a light pink scarf around her neck. "Ready to go?"
"Uh? Oh, mhmm," Lin answered as she pushed herself off the bed, resisting the growing urge to poke at her horns. The alien feeling they had already ebbed away and her mind was already beginning to accept the fact that they were apart of her body. Which, from the bone-like texture to them, they will be.
"When then, vamos, let's go," Yasmin said, picking up her wallet while walking out the bedroom. She walked down the hall with Lin trailing behind her. As she reached the kitchen she picked up her keys and phone from the counter.
After grabbing her phone, Lin quickly walked towards the door to open it up. However, as she started to open the door up to walk out, Lin was stopped by someone already standing outside of the door, her knuckles curled as if she was getting ready to knock. Lin blinked a couple of times at the formally dressed tabby standing in front of her. Her long lavender hair hanged neatly over her back, and her legs easily made her far taller than Lin.
"Uh... may I help you?" Lin asked, thinking the tabby was here for official business of some kind from the neat dress clothes.
She smiled. "Why yes you can, I was looking fo-" Before the mysterious feline could finish what she was saying the door slammed shut. Seething at how rude that the door was slammed in her face, her eyes narrowed. She was going to give that hound a piece of her mind, but then she noticed the faint purple glow off the door.
Lin stared at the door that had randomly shut. She then noticed the faint glow to it, leading her to believe that it didn't just randomly close on her. "Yasmin, that's rude! You can't just shut door in people's' faces," Lin scolded, turning around to find Yasmin standing behind her. The hound was simply dismissively whistling with her hands held behind her back, trying to act as though she hadn't done anything wrong. "What is the matter with you? What if she got her nose smashed in?" Lin wrapped her hand around the doorknob to open the door and apologize to the tabby. But she found that the door wouldn't budge, her mind flicking back to Yasmin. "Yasmin, what's the matter?"
'Crap, crap, crap! How did that cat find me?' Yasmin thought to herself as she glanced back and forth between Lin and the door. "Guh, we need to get out of here," she growled under her breathe. 'How the fuck I can get away from her now?' she sighed as she slowly drag her hand down her muzzle. But slowly a plan formed in her head making her smirk. "Lin, when we get into the car, you're driving." Yasmin quickly handed the car keys to her as her magic locked the door.
"M-m-me? Bu-but I don't... I'm not good at driving Yasmin," Lin admitted as she rubbed her arm, her eyes darting down to the ground. "I mean, I hadn't driven a car since I passed my driving exam." The doorbell ringed as there was a quick knock on the door. "And what's going on, who is that cat outside?"
"Well Lin, I got two things to say. One: I'll explain that another time, but not now. And two: you're going to get a quick refresher course." 'Hope this doesn't use a lot of magic,' Yasmin thought as she rested her fingers on Lin's forehead. "You might feel a small shock."
"Huh?" Lin barely had time to ask before her vision was filled with a pale-purple light. She winced as a jolt surged through her body, the light reaching into an apex and completely blinding her. When her sight came to her, Lin found herself sitting in the driving side of Yasmin's car with Yasmin sitting in the passenger side, groaning. "Wait, wait, wait, what?!" Lin shouted frantically, looking around wildly. "Yasmin, why do I have to drive!?"
Yasmin deadpanned as she turned to looks at Lin. "Do I look like I can drive like this?" she softly asked, turning to look back at the front door. 'Good, she didn't notice us yet .' "Lin, I will explain everything but please let's just get outta here, quickly?"
The mysterious tabby still stood at the door, waiting for the door to open back up. "Come on open up," she said knocking on door. "I know yo-" She was cut off as the sound of a car starting caught her attention. "Tsk, you're not getting away this time, Princess," she muttered, running after the car as it pulled out the driveway.
Alright, alright," Lin muttered to herself as she placed the car key in her pocket and pressed the start button. After putting the clutch into gear, Lin pulled out the driveway, carefully pulling into the street. She sighed as she tried to keep her nerves down, gripping the steering wheel and quickly reciting the rules of the road in her head. "D-do you know that tabby or something? Is she like, your landlord or something?"
Yasmin looked in the passenger side mirror seeing the tabby standing in the middle of the street. 'You not getting me just yet, pussycat,' she thought smirking to herself. "Yeah something like that. And no, I own that house," Yasmin said, turning away from the mirror. Little did Yasmin know the tabby disappeared from the middle of the street in an orange flash.
"Well if you know her, then why are you trying to run away from her?" Lin asked, taking a quick glance over towards Yasmin, who seemed to becoming more paradiod by the moment.
"I'm not running," Yasmin said, huffing and folding her arms. "This is a... a strategic withdrawal from the premise. Yeah, that sounds right."
Lin cocked an eyebrow. "That is the military definition of running away," she pointed out, turning a corner to get on the main road. Now though, Lin was driving in open traffic, causing her nerves to run a little higher. And Yasmin being mysterious about everything was not helping with this fact. "Yasmin, what is going on?"
"Lin, just try to relax," Yasmin said, sighing. "Too much havoc going on our lives right now. It feels like some divine power just trying to screw us over or this is some type of anime," she said as she turned on the radio, filling the car with smooth jazz despite Yasmin thinking a rock station would be better. She left the radio it was, however.
Glancing over towards Yasmin, Lin saw that the hound didn't want to talk about it right now. She sighed as she dropped the subject. Whatever was happening with Yasmin, she wanted to be far away from it as possible. Lin turned her attention back to the road and the traffic of the early lunch-rush.
Yasmin started to feel less fatigue as they continue on their drive to the library. "I'm sorry Lin," she said, breaking the silence. "I didn't need to push this all on you so quickly."
Lin smiled at Yasmin, happy that she was at least talking. "It's alright Yasmin. You did get kinda stuck with me and, well, this," she said, blowing out a small wisp of pink flames to add emphasis to her point. Sighing, Lin glanced at Yasmin before turning back to the road. "Just... just tell me what's going on, please?"
"Alright, alright I'll tell ya," Yasmin started, "She from my kingdom. Well my parents' but you get what I mean. Her name's--" She was cut off as the car ran over a pothole in the road. "Whoa!" she said as Lin gave her a quick apologetic glance. 'Wait, what was that?' Yasmin thought to herself as she thought she heard a bell jingle behind her. She looked at the rear view mirror but didn't see anything. But, she felt a magical presence in the car. 'Don't tell me...' Yasmin's wrist runes faintly shimmered a pale-blue color as she closed her eyes. After few moments she opened her eyes, her eyes glowed a faint silvery-blue before looking into the rear view mirror again.
Yasmin's eyes widen in surprise.'Fuck. My. Life!' The mysterious tabby was sitting in the backseat, smugly smiling before giving her little wave. Yasmin couldn't see any color on her, just the faint white outlines of her body and clothing as she teasingly mouthed the words, 'Found you.' Yasmin plopped back in her seat with a sigh as she rubbed her temples. "Lin, can you pull over?"
Lin meekly nodded her head as she turned on her turn single, merging over to the right turning lane and pullover next to a small convenience store. "I-I'm sorry about that bump. I-it didn't m-mess anything up did it? Y-you can drive, you're a lot better at it than me," she quickly blurted out, hoping Yasmin wasn't mad that she could've messed up her car.
"Lin, everything with the car is ok and thanks for the complement. But I want you to know that what I'm going to say isn't in anyway directed towards you, ok." Yasmin said in a sweet tone even though her left eye was twitching.
"Um... okay?"
"You know, I really fucking hate you right now. You know that right?" Yasmin seething with a growl. Lin's head snapped at Yasmin with a look of shock across her face. But before Lin, could say anything a feminine chuckle was heard in the car.
"Aww, you know you don't mean that," The voice purred as a soft orange glow outlined the figure before the tabby appeared in the car. The feline's arms wrapped around Yasmin as her head was parallel with Yasmin's.
Lin was left shocked at what was going on. She leaned back against the door to get a full view of the tabby and Yasmin, looking between the two of them. "Wha- How? Why? What is going on Yasmin?"
"Yes, Yasmin what going on?"
Yasmin growled before covered her face with her hand. "Lin, meet my personal bodyguard and the bane of my existence for the last two years, Londyn Eva Marie."
All the half-breed could do was cock her head at Yasmin, looking to the tabby, who was apparently named Eva and Yasmin's personal bodyguard. "Wait what? I thought you said you came to the States to get away from all of, this," she pointed out, waving her hand over Eva. "What's she's doing here?"
"I came to do my duty to protect her," Eva said calmly. "Call me Eva by the way."
"I can protect myself, I don't need you here," Yasmin said dismissively, crossing her arms and pouting.
"That video from that lingerie store says differently," Eva quipped, making Lin and Yasmin's faces look like they trying to iminated tomatoes.
Lin was the first one to recover from what the tabby said, her nose flaring out wisps of flames as her tail also burned hotter. "Don't you think that's a little too personal? And how did you even know we went to the mall in the first place?" Eva glanced over towards Lin, shooting her a sly grin. Lin responded with another snort of flames as she crossed her arms. "I can't believe this, you're basically a stalker. And that's against the law, may I add."
"What I did was perfectly legal. All I have to do is to make sure to keep princess here safe and sound," Eva said, reaching forward and patting Yasmin's head.
"I hate you so much right now," Yasmin growled as Eva giggled and sat back in the backseat. "I still can't believe you're my guard. And I hope for my 'security' that you properly disposed of that video?" she asked, quickly fixing her hair before looking up in the rearview mirror to Eva.
"I know you don't mean that," Eva teased. "When I became your guard, you was happy and grateful. And I thought you and I could have some fun on your aboard studying. Besides, you didn't like any other guard other than my mother and she has her duty defending your parents."
"Wouldn't mind your dad being my guard. At least he would've cool to have around."
"You're only saying that because of all the treats he made for you," Eva said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"...So," Yasmin said, blowing a raspberries at Eva. "Still a better guard that you."
"Wait, wait, wait." Lin rubbed her temples, clenching her eyes close. She opened them back up, flatly looking towards the two. "So let me get this straight. You are Yasmin's personal guard and you've been 'watching' us for the last couple of months? Then what kinda guard just shows up at her house, knowing that she was going to make a run for it. And ya still haven't explained what you wanted."
"Tsk, please. You insult me. I've been watching dear Princess here much longer than a few months," Eva said before glaring Yasmin who decide that something out the window was more interesting. "Things might have been different if she hadn't slipped that bad brownie of hers and left for the airport without me. And maybe I wanted to formally introduced myself to the one thing that is threatening my princess."
"Threatening Yasmin? Who, me?" Lin asked, taken aback by the tabby's answer. She bit her lower lip. Was she dangerous to Yasmin? As she thought about it, she started to feel that she was. 'N-no... I-I'm not...' "I-I'm not a threat to Yasmin."
Eva arched an eyebrow and reached into her coat pocket for her phone. "Are you completely sure about that? Because this video proves otherwise."
Lin leaned forward as her eyes squinted to look into the screen. What was on it honestly horrified her. It was a video of the incident yesterday where she ran outside and spewed the massive torrent of fire. In spite of seeing it with her own eyes, Lin couldn't believe that it was her breathing the tall tower of fire. But there was another feeling that she had from watching it. Pride?
"I-Is that me?" she asked, shocked at what she was seeing and feeling. Eva pulled the phone away as the video got to the part where she fell to her knees. "Th-that's not... Bu-but... no."
"Yes, it is," Eva seriously said as she flatly stared at Lin, looking at her as through the eyes a medical doctor and police officer would. "That is you and that your fireball. Imagine if you didn't make it out the house in time. Think about that for a moment."
Lin's face sunk as she thought about the very tragic outcome that could have happened. She could have burned the entire house down. Yasmin could have gotten hurt, Cerberus forbid worse. And it would've been her fault. "I... I... I couldn't control it. And... who are you to come in and say I'm a threat?!" Lin snapped, snarling at Eva as she clenched her hands at her sides. "Despite how bad things been, neither one of us had gotten even close to being hurt."
"For now," Eva said, watching the half-breed's tail flare up and noting her reaction and her tail's flame. "And I will make sure it doesn't happen because I'm moving in." Yasmin and Lin stare at Eva as if she suddenly grew two heads.
"You're joking right?" Yasmin in disbelief. "I've been taking care myself ever since I left. I don't need you.".
"Yes. You. Do," Eva firmly said as she leaned forward, staring into Yasmin's eyes. "If I'm not there for you and something bad happens how do I explain it to the King and Queen. 'Oh I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect your daughter Princess Yasmin but she said she didn't need me. So it not my fault that she broken something or died on my watch. I was following her orders' How do you think your parents would react? They would send half the Guard if they had to, just to bring your dead or broken ass back to the kingdom! So I'm the safest and best bet for that not to happen you mocosa terca estúpido (stupid stubborn brat)!" Eva hissed at Yasmin.
Even Lin winced back from Eva's frustration, but that didn't stop her for growling. "And what exactly could you do? Yasmin already just said that she doesn't want you around, so buzz off!"
"I can help you," Eva said, turning towards Lin. The car went quiet for moment before Eva clarified herself. "With looking for help with your changes. I may be assigned to do whatever it takes to keep the princess safe, but that doesn't mean I'm heartless. I can see that she loves you and you love her back. So let me help, that way Yasmin won't have to be separated from you. I have people in the kingdom that can help."
"Yeah, is any of them an actual dragon?" Lin retorted, reaching a hand up to her hood to pull it further over her head to hide her horns better. "Because if not, you'll be as much help as my sister was this morning. So sorry, unless _you_personally know something about what's happening, then don't even bother with it." She turned away from the tabby, snorting slightly. "Speaking of which, we were just on our way to the library to see if we can find anything."
Eva stared at Lin for a few moments before leaning back into her sit. She sighed as her ears drop down. She looked down at the car floor as the car was silence.
"That's what I'd figured." Lin huffed as she turned back around to the steering wheel, starting the car up again and looking up into the rear-view mirror. "You want to stick around the house and protect Yasmin? Fine, then you sit down, shut up, and help us look for a way to stop this. Otherwise, you can go back to being a glorified staker. Understand?"
Eva slowly shook her head answering Lin as she keep her head down. After a few moments, Lin pulled back onto the road continuing to head to the library. No one spoke the rest of the way to the library. Eva just stared at the floor, Yasmin looked out the passenger window and Lin focusing on the road. It was just a dead silence but tension was still in the air.
