Thank you to everyone who has read my Welcome To Kalos Prologue! I wasn't expecting it to get many views at all and it means a lot to me that people are actually reading my writing. And thank you to people who have faved the story and who are watching me!

So the short story series I had an idea for is going to be put on hold until I'm a little further into the actual story. However I've decided that I'm going to try and get a chapter or story out within the first week of the month, this way people can comment, maybe even give me some ideas they would like to see in the next chapter. So feel free to leave comments, give me some ideas or simply tell me what you like or don't like about the story. I'd appreciate any tips, especially if they help me improve my writing. And yes, there are plans for sex in the next Chapter! Maybe even two scenes.

And a big thank you to all of my friends who are not on SoFurry but who have been reading my story and helping me edit it!

Katherine has found an opportunity, only she didn't expect what she ends up finding. Time to roll up her sleeves and earn her keep. With a new friend, or at least an acquaintance and their Pokemon, she needs to get her ruined Daycare back up and running.

“This place is a dump." Kat raised an eyebrow as she looked around the disheveled Day Care. She was only standing outside and she could tell that this place was going to need a lot of work. The field was empty; no Pokémon roamed the area at all. The fence was broken in areas, food troughs were empty, the office looked empty, and no one was around. It seemed rather deserted, but it was nine in the morning and someone should have been there! Kat nearly screamed out in frustration before she was storming down the road to the berry farm. Supposedly the 'owners' lived there.

Kat knocked harshly on the door and waited. Her hand was reaching up yo knock again when a man, probably in his forties opened the door. "I'm sorry.... would you perhaps be Katherine?" He asked, voice a little shaky and nervous.

“I prefer Kat, but yes, that would be me." She crossed her arms over her decently sized chest, glowering at the man as he let her inside. She followed him to the kitchen table where they both sat down, a rather large pile of paperwork between them. “I believe there are some details you failed to give to me?" She questioned her tone cold and clearly not overly impressed.

“I am sorry, but that is a more recent development…" The man explained weakly, not very happy himself, in fact he seemed almost saddened by it. “Several days ago we told the four employees who worked there that the ownership would be changing, that someone more capable would be taking over though I wasn't sure if they would still be allowed to work at the Day Care any longer. We told them the exact date and they seemed alright with it. Until last night when the place was vandalized, we have no proof if it was them but they visited a couple of hours before the incident and handed in their leave notice. But there are no cameras so we can't prove who did it. Though the area was examined and a list of damages was made earlier this morning."

Kat nodded though this seemed to have calmed her down a little. “I could understand why they would be upset, but now they have only created more work for me. This could be rather problematic for the business though." She sighed a little before gesturing to the pile of papers. “And what is this all about?" She asked.

“This would be a list of damages, list of complaints, and a list of which Pokémon stayed at the Daycare, who they belonged to, how long, and if any evolutions occurred. And on top are the ownership papers if you still wish to take over." He seemed hopeful, but understanding if she refused.

Katherine took the papers and flipped through them, then took the ownership papers and signed them before turning them over to the man. “Trust me, I'll take good care of it, patch it up and get it up and running again." She took the rest of the papers and tucked them under her arm. The man seemed surprised before he stood and pulled Kat into a hug, thanking her profusely and apologizing, he also began to spew promises and something involving berries. He led her outside. She was surprised when she was given a bag of berries and some land was set aside and berries planted just for her. Once they were grown she would have her own constant source of berries, until they were fully grown the man would even come by with some of his own harvest for her. She thanked him before she was leaving. On the road though she bumped into a younger man, causing her to scramble to try and keep both the papers and the bag of berries in her arms.

She shot the man a quick glare before she huffed at him. She turned her attention back to the papers she was reading as she continued on her way back to the Day Care. She released her Pokémon so they didn't stay cooped up the rest of the day as she sat down on the steps to the office. She kept reading until there was a figure standing over her. She sighed and looked up at the same young man from before. “I'm sorry I bumped into you earlier, but the Daycare is closed down for a long while."

“I know. I'm here to open it." His eyebrow raised slightly, the movement being the only way he showed his confusion. Kat blinked at him and stood, bristling just a little

“No you will not. This is my Daycare, and it is clearly in no shape to be opened if you haven't noticed the broken fences and trashed warehouse yet."

“Really? I thought something looked different." He rolled his eyes and gave her one of those looks. Sarcasm, mixed with disbelief and haughtiness. It caused a pang in her chest, and she did not like it. Her eyes narrowed in response.

“If you will not take this seriously then I suggest you leave. I will not have some kind of slacker working for me." She turned to glower at the door, her hand grabbing out the key to open up the office. She was startled though when his hand slammed against the door to keep it shut.

He tightened his grip on the door slightly a slight scowl appearing on his face. “If you go through what I assume is the paperwork you will find that I did not hand in my notice. Now I need to get in there and feed the young ones before they start an adorable riot, so either move out of my way or fire me." As he finished his yellow eyes seemed to flash dangerously.

She continued to look at him in shock before she opened the door and moved to let him in. “I was under the impression that no Pokémon was currently on the property. I haven't finished going through the paperwork and I don't even know your name."

“It's Nikali." His tone was still sharp towards her, but his face softened just the slightest amount. He then left to grab what remained of the soft food for the young Pokémon that were right now kept in the only undamaged area. She stared after him for a moment before she snapped out of it and frowned. She sighed and stepped inside to continue reading through her paperwork. She sorted the papers after sitting at the desk.

“Complaints, list of Pokémon, List of employees, inventory list, and the damages that occurred the other night." She sighed and stared at the list of damages. “There is going to be a lot of manual labor involved in patching the place up. Not to mention money for materials, and replacing all the food that was either trashed or stolen. There isn't even much of the soft food left for the young Pokémon in our care. Actually, Nikali probably just took all that was left, there wasn't very much after all." She tapped a pencil against the desk as she read over the inventory. “There isn't even enough materials left to mend the fence. The Daycare at least still has some funds left we can use. And we have the berries. If I explain my plan to Dareen I am sure he would supply me more berries should I need them. And with how long it has been those babies are probably getting hungry again or will be soon." She stood and double checked the broken warehouse, shaking her head when she was proven right and none of the soft food was left.

“Well. It looks like I better get into the kitchen and get cooking." She gave a sigh before she was leaving the office and checked out the place. There was the main office, a suite kind of area with a couch, TV, table and a fridge for breaks. Then there was an apartment attached to the office for her to live. It was a bachelor suite with a kitchenette, a living space with a couch and table, and an area curtained off with a bed and dresser. She nodded in approval before she was checking out the kitchen. “Perfect, they even left me some utensils." She smiled as she pulled out some pots and prepared the berries by washing and dicing them. She had to ride out on Kasai though to borrow some ingredients from the previous owner. Milk, butter, sugar, salt, and some cornstarch were all she needed. With those and the berries when whipped up some pudding for the young Pokémon, letting it sit in the fridge to cool. She let that sit for an hour as she continued to read through complaints. Once it was ready she went out to the back to join Nikali with the 'adorable riot'.

“They are rather adorable." She giggled and checked out the group. “I see a Buneary, a Growlithe, a Ralts, a Taillow and a Magby. “ She then stopped and frowned, the six bowls of pudding on a tray she was balancing. “Wasn't there supposed to be six of them?" She asked softly, noting that there were older Pokémon playing with the young ones. “And I suppose these other Pokémon would be your team?" She asked, looking towards the Flareon, Jolteon, Lucario and the Gardevoir whom were playing with the Growlithe, Magby, Taillow and Ralts respectively. The Buneary was sitting in Nikali's lap.

“The sixth is a Poochyena but she is probably hiding from you. She's quite shy." Nikali responded holding a spoonful of pudding up to the Buneary's mouth then wiping it with the corner of a napkin afterwards. “But yes there is Pyra the Flareon, Zeph the Jolteon, Tabitha the Gardevoir and lastly there is Lucious, the Lucario." He smiled down at the Buneary as she bounced slightly, demanding another spoonful.

Kat smiled and giggled at the Buneary. “I'm happy to see that the pudding is good at least." She went around to the other Pokémon, offering spoons to the adults with hands, and just setting the bowl nearby for those who didn't. “What should we do about the Poochyena then? She is probably hungry too. And if she is as shy as you say she is she most likely won't trust me much if at all. Actually, did you see which way she went? You already have your hands full."

“Just take the Magby from Lucious, he will go find her and make sure she's fed." Nikali gives Kat a slight smile. “She's just really shy around new people so it might take a bit for her to come into sight let alone come near you."

Katherine frowned, just the slightest bit, but nodded after a brief sigh. “I guess that is the best option isn't it? Don't want to scare her off completely." She smiled before she was moving over to the Lucario, taking the bowl of pudding as she sat down, the Magby moving to her lap to continue feeding the softly growling stomach. She watched briefly where Lucious went before focusing solely on the Magby in her lap and occasionally peeking out at the others to see how to other rioters were doing. Kat giggled at how much fun the Buneary was having in Nikali's lap and she felt the oddest pang of jealousy. So she cuddled against the Magby a little as the little male Pokémon began the yawn and cuddle back against her. She smiled softly and waited for the Pokémon to fall asleep completely before taking him inside to the beds that were set up for them, taking her leave after that so she would not get in Nikali's way, or find some new way to infuriate him.

The first thing she did once she got back to her room was getting started on making larger batches of pudding, using the remaining berries in the fridge to make some different types. Instead of just using Oran berries she split them up so she had different flavors to see how the Pokémon would like it. She sat on her bed, where apparently Velvet had decided to get comfy, and continued to go through the paperwork and planning. A note was left on the main desk for Nikali should he pass by, mentioning that she already had more pudding ready should the children Pokémon get hungry again and that it would be in the staff room fridge. She promptly moved the pudding so that she could get back to the paper work.

Occasionally Katherine could hear Nikali moving about, wondering just what he was doing before she absorbed herself back in the paper work, sometimes reading with one hand and petting a cream colored tail as it brushed against her hand. This went on for a couple more hours before something had her so frustrated she nearly screamed and threw the papers down onto the bed before she was hurrying off to shower. She took her time, the water on full blast to pummel against her skin, and the hot water turned up to the point it was just shy of being too hot. The force of the water massaged her muscles, slowly easing her into relaxation as her eyes closed and one hand slid down her stomach to her crotch. She frowned when she felt just a little more hair than she liked and took the time to shave. Once she was clean and finally relaxed she shut the water off and stepped out to wrap herself in a towel, taking the time to towel dry her hair a bit so it wasn't still completely soaked as it clung to her skin.

Once she wasn't completely absorbed in her comfort she stared at the bed and grumbled at the papers. “How can such nice people be so stupid? No wonder the Daycare was in such bad shape!" She continued to grumble and complain under her breath as she put the papers back in a neat pile and set them at her desk so she could have her bed again. She rubbed her body one final time with her towel and sat down. Her head tilted, her still partially damp hair falling over her shoulder so that she could work on drying the locks some more. Eventually her hair could not get more dry and Katherine laid herself on her bed, legs bending slightly as she stared at the ceiling. Her baby blue towel now lay abandoned, hanging over the edge of the bed. At least until Kat used her toes do kick it off onto the floor. She was dry enough, and didn't want to hang it up quite yet.

She went back to staring up at the white ceiling, her hands resting over her stomach as she began to grow tired. Her eyes started to grow heavy as she stared off into space, not even thinking of anything in particular. Her mind was blank, trying to ignore everything that had happened so far that day so she could sleep. It was a bit early, but she had brought all her things up into her apartment, had unpacked a majority of it, gone over far more paperwork than she cared to admit, and had plans that she was going to set into motion so that she could get the business running again.

"Nikali has a key. He should understand, plus he can easily lock the place up. He was going to unlock it this afternoon. He also has more experience with the Adorable Riot. He shouldn't have a problem with them." She used an arm to cover her eyes as she sighed. The only reason she said the words out loud was that they made more sense that way. Nikali was one of the best employees that the Daycare had. Scratch that, he was the hardest working and had a thing with Pokémon while the other people had been slackers. It was a good thing that they had left, saved Katherine the effort of firing them, though the damage they had caused was a downside.

It was a huge downside that would take a fair bit of money to patch up. She groaned and shook her head. "What a pain. But I'll have to make it work." She sat herself up, leaning against her pillows as she spread her legs and fingered experimentally at her folds. Was she horny enough to masturbate before bed? She didn't feel very wet, and she didn't really have the desire to find something to watch. She sighed, her fingertips resting against the inside of her thigh now before looking towards the door. Velvet lay on the floor, near the foot of the bed. But his head was resting on the mattress, red eyes looking at her curiously. She blushed and quickly shifted to the edge so that she could stand. A plain black shirt was thrown on quickly, and panties slipped on as well. She didn't like to sleep completely naked.

Katherine had already plugged in a couple of night lights outside of the curtain that separated her bed from the rest of the room. So once the lights to the rest of her room were off she was still able to make out enough of her room. She wrote a quick note, telling Nikali that she was going to bed early and asking if he could lock up for the night. The note was then taped to the outside of her door for when he, hopefully, came looking for her. The door was then closed and locked, the only key being the one that now sat on the counter in her kitchen. The strategically placed night lights made it easy for her to find her way back to her bed, shutting the curtain completely as she crawled into bed. She opened her window just a crack before she was under the covers. A second after she wasn't alone in the bed as Velvet made his presence known by jumping onto the bed and lying beside her. The warmth of his body easily felt and quickly took away the chill of the new bed and replaced it with warmth that was already very familiar.

"Good night Velvet." Katherine smiled her voice already going soft as she yawned and finally let the quiet darkness fold around her, her mind going blank though a soft smile contorted her lips. Soon, she would be standing on her own two feet, and she was very proud of that fact.
