Deep inside an active volcano, Cipher, a fourteen-foot charcoal black and grey scaled dragon rested against a rocky wall while he bathed in one of the many pools of lava the volcano had to offer. The lava lapped against his hardened scales as he enjoyed the relaxing feeling the searing heat and magma gave him, a much needed respite from the day's events. The black dragon had the luck or misfortune -- depending on one's view -- to see the last of his kin find their mates for this year's mating and the subsequent behavior that followed.

He had seen a lot of questionable behavior go on throughout the day as he was a witness to a frolicking sexual orgy of his kind planting the seeds to bring the next generation to fruition. However, he had been only an onlooker and never took part himself as frustrating as it was. He longed to have taken part in the sea of sweat and sex, however, he was already spoken for and obligated to his already chosen mate, and she had decided to stave off her heat cycle for the duration of this year's mating season.

Cipher knew why she had made the decision to prolong her heat cycle; the longer a dragon avoids mating with their kind the more fertile they become and the greater their clutch is. It didn't make it any easier knowing the reason behind it, the urges were there scratching at the back of his mind like a monster gnawing at its chains to escape and run wild. If he wasn't so loyal to his mate Xia, he would have surely gone after one of the lone females today and done the nasty deed with them on the spot.

One of the nice older blue ones would have been just fine to start a clutch... He quickly shook those thoughts from his mind as he caught himself wondering whether to unlock the shackles of his urges. He only had eyes for one and no matter how many more days it took he would be lying with her when she was good and ready.

Cipher's thoughts seemed to have a cosmic effect as a rush of wind surged in the cave as Xia swooped in through a hole in the ceiling, gracefully landing on the ground. She stood up in her full thirteen-foot height. A grin stretched at Xia's lips as she clawed at Cipher's chest and brushed her tail against his leg. "Aw, my handsome drake was feeling lonely. And here I was scouting out the perfect place," Xia giggled with a low, seductive tone as she leaned against Cipher's strong chest and whispered, "It will be the perfect spot to tell our future little ones how they came about."

"Oh, and where might that be, my darling?" Cipher questioned intently, a hiss of excitement leaving his lips as he became intrigued to know the answer she kept. He'd been waiting for that very answer for quite a while as his hand slipped down her back and rest on her rump to squeeze it lovingly. He hoped it wouldn't be too long now before he got to claim her.

"Ah! Muhahha - no! - Hun s - ah - stop," Xia exclaimed thrashing and wiggling in Cipher's unyielding grip. Her tail wrapped tightly around his leg as her wings stretched outwards and her calm demeanor quickly melted away under her mate's playful tickles. A tear came to Xia's shut eyes, holding in her what was left of her demeanor until she bursts into a fit of giddy laughter.

"Who's a little rascal?" Cipher questioned to his mate, sticking out his forked tongue playfully as he enjoyed watching her giggling fit. She was the most beautiful dragoness he had even seen, now made even more so by her helpless fit of laughter. Even after she tried to push his hands away it only urged him on to tickle her that much more. She was so cute too, it was fun seeing her like this, so childlike and playful until he eventually stopped to allow her a respite. It brought him back to a simpler time. He would do anything for the soon to be mother of his offspring.

"Th - ahem - the only 'little rascal' I see here is you... for now that is," she added trailing her hand down Cipher's collarbone to the center of his chest. "Now how about you put those hands to better use and help work out some knots that I got in my wings and back from flying all day? Pretty please, hun?"

"It would be my pleasure, love," Cipher responded with a helpful smile. He gestured for Xia to turn around and sit in between his legs where he could gain access to her flight muscles. It was a pleasant sight as Xia did what she was told, he'd gained an unhindered view of her shapely rear before it disappeared below the surface of the lava again. He bit his lip as he kept the shapely image in his mind as he started his tender work.

"Okay, hold still now," the male drake ordered before he gently placed his clawed talons on the female's back to start a slow and direct message to her upper flight muscles.

Xia sighed softly as Cipher's palms kneeled against her neck and back muscles. It was a soothing experience, especially doing it with one she loved. "Ohhh... a little harder, love," she moaned, rolling her neck and placing her hands on the sides of Cipher's legs. Xia leaned back to press herself more in Cipher's hands, somewhat purposely rubbing her plump cheeks against his groin. Sighing when Cipher did as she asked, Xia closed her eyes and slowly relaxed in the pool of lava.

Cipher's hands pushed a little harder into Xia's back, making sure he didn't miss a spot as he worked the kinks from her tense muscles. "It sounds astonishing from what you described," Cipher started, picturing a gem encrusted cavern in his mind's eye. " I would be inclined to agree with you to make it our nest home. I can't wait to see it for myself." It sounded like perfection, all the gems the little ones could sink their teeth into so they'd never go hungry, nicely secluded from danger and predators, and with it being near a volcano; plenty of warmth.

"Mmm, yes, I think that's our dream cave," he whispered lovingly into her ear.

"Oh yes, it is," Xia whispered back, reaching a hand up to Cipher's blue head-spines and craning her neck. She gasped when she felt two of Cipher's fingers press against the muscle connecting her two wing joints, making her shudder and squirm slightly. "I want to go there now; I want to be there with you as you fill me with our young. Oh hun, I love you."

Cipher's chest rumbled happily again as he heard those words come for her lips. No more words needed to be uttered between them at that very moment, their feelings were utterly mutual. He craned his head around to meet hers face to face, the brief moment they had to peer into each other's eyes to confess their undying love was all the time they needed in the world, before Cipher pressed forward and sealed their lips together. His heart was hers.

Lightest of butterfly flaps went through Xia's heart. She slowly eased into Cipher's arms as their lips lightly pressed against each other's. It was worth the wait; he was worth the wait. Powerful ripples burned in Xia's depths, the itching urge of baring his young embedding itself further into her mind. The kiss became more passionate as lust took over Xia. Xia unfurled her wings, throwing globs of magma in the hair as she began to lift slowly out the pool. Trails of lava dripped from her body, following the curves of her ass, thighs, and legs. She hovered above the lava with ease, looking back over her shoulder to shoot Cipher an alluring gaze. "Do be kind to keep up love and be careful. We're heading underground for a little bit," she teased before flying up towards the entrance in the ceiling.

He left a large splash of lava in his wake as he followed her out of the large hole she entered from earlier and into the red, late afternoon sky where he quickly jetted to be by her side one again. The cool air of the afternoon sky rushed over his wings and sent chills through his wing membranes and flight muscles which made him shiver, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave immediately without gradually cooling off, but he shrugged it off as quickly as it happened, there were worthwhile events that needed his attention.

Impatient, Xia soared straight towards the mountain range and cut straight towards the cave's mouth. The massive, half-hidden opening was large enough to easily accommodate both her and Cipher flying through into its systems. Light quickly faded as the two dragons soared into the tunnels until Xia sent off a fireball down the path to light their way through. Recognizing where they were, she doubled her speed to hurry up the pace, grinning widely.

One last shot of fire through the cave burst out in a flare, letting her know they had finally made it to their new home. She flew into a massive cavern at the base of a large waterfall, indicated by a shimmering pull of crystal blue water falling down from the ceiling in the left side of the wall. Heat filled the room from the same waterfall, feeling pleasant to her scales as she slowly descended to the ground and walked in the room.

Cipher landed soon after the female and hurriedly followed her like a lost puppy playing follow the leader with its master. The sights Cipher saw of the surrounding area amazed him, it was everything his mate had described and then some, but it was nothing compared to what he was about to see as he trailed behind Xia who had suddenly slipped behind the waterfall to travel further in. It was all very secretive and off the beaten path, no wonder Xia had chosen this place. No one could disturb them.

A few quick moments, Xia poked her head out from behind the path around the waterfall and puffed out a cloud of smoke and beckoned the drake over with a wave of her tail. "Come on love, you have a long night facing you," she said before disappearing behind the veil of water again.

Once his mate had called, Cipher attention immediately snapped back towards her and he once again was hot on her heels as he too sneaked behind the waterfall. "Yes ma'am," Cipher said obediently as Xia lead him down the tunnel that was hidden behind the rushing water. He was looking forward to their long night going well into the next morning and hopefully beyond as he licked his lips excitedly.

"I know it isn't a lot but..." Xia pulled back a screen of vines to reveal a small cove that she had spent the day filling with gems and metal ores and a bedding made of large leaves and vines from the forest. Xia's tail snaked up Cipher's body as she reached her hands back to wrap around his neck. "I'm sure a big, strong handsome drake will help me make it a little cozier."

"It's perfect," Cipher simply said while he admired Xia's handiwork. It was simple, yet practical, exactly what they needed it for. Instinctively, Cipher's talon creep its way onto Xia's body, finding its place on her large hip before pulling her close to him. Their bodies were pressed together, partaking in each other's company. Xia took the chance to tease him a little by rubbing her round ass cheeks against his groin. She giggled coyly until Cipher took the opportunity to sweep Xia off her feet and carry her snuggly in his arms.

Xia was startled by Cipher's sudden moves but she had no complaints. If she did, it would be him moving a little slow for her liking.
