#2 of The Peace and Choas

It was at least a few hours after the meeting of the Elders. Lak was waiting in his cell for the week to be over, but he was also waiting for his guest to come by. He had no intention of talking to Crystal, but he at least wanted to have someone there incase something was to happen. He waited but he kept his head low to where his head basically hid his whole face to where noting could be seen, not even the shadow from the hood could be seen. Only the hood itself could be seen. He didn't care, he wanted to hide his face, just incase any other dragon was to see him and not know about the deal he made with the Elders. What he didn't know though was that the only dragons there that were walking around were guards that knew about the deal, that and his guest, Crystal, making her way to his cell. It wasn't long since she talked to her father about this and made her way to Lak's cell, and it didn't take her too long to find his cell since he was the only dragon even in this part of the dungeon. When she came up to the cell she could see him inside, hanging on the wall. His hands, tail, wings, and ankles chained to the wall to prevent him from escaping. When she first arrived she thought he was sleeping since his head was hung low, but when she tried to enter his cell his head rose up. She still couldn't see his face, but she remembered what he promised.

"You know you don't have to hang there on the wall." She pointed out.

"I know but it will make people more at ease when they know I was chained up like this." He tried to move but with the way he was chained up he could only move several inches. Crystal opened the cell, walked up to him, and unchained everything.

"You don't have to. You're here as a guest, and you have permission from the Elders to be here." Lak fell a few feet onto the ground, but he stuck his landing and rubbed his wrist.

"Thank you, but for someone who had trouble with my kind before, I would think you would hate my kind." Lak said as he continued rub his wrist. He looked from his wrist to see Crystal looking back at him from outside the cell with pure hatred in her eyes.

"I do, but there is something about you..." She said as she continued her stare.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Just something about you seems familiar." She answered back and that's when she remembered something.

"What about me seems familiar?" He asked as she opened the cell door again. She slowly walked in and stop in front of him. At first she thought it was ok but when she reached up to take his hood off he grabbed her hand. "Not yet, but I promise later on." He looked deep into her eyes to see the hatred she had was gone but she quickly backed away and the hatred returned.

"Why not? You said you would show me your face when we are alone." He tilted his head to the side and she looked to see the two head guards standing at the end of the hall.

"I'm sorry; I should have told you before." Lak said as he sat down on the small bed.

"It's ok; I should have known." She looked back at him as she left the cell again.

Lak didn't say another word, and neither did Crystal. They just sat there for the longest time. Lak kept staring at the floor while Crystal kept her eyes on him. She looked at the two head guards once in a while, but they just stayed in place. She would always look back to see that Lak hadn't move, but each time she would look at him she couldn't help but study him. She couldn't see much due to the hood, but she could at least see some of the basics about his body. To her he seemed like a normal dragon, she didn't know what age but she would say the same age as herself if not older .The silence lasted for hours and hunger finally got to Crystal. She walked down the halls drawing both the guards and Lak's attention. She continued to walk down in till she reached the guards.

"I need you two to watch Lak for a bit. I need to go talk to the elders." They nodded and walked past her and down to Lak's cell. When they arrived they thought that Lak would be walking around, waiting near the cell door, doing something that might help him escape but to their confusion they just saw him sitting there on his bed.

"Everything ok in there?" One of the guards asked, and Lak just looked up at him.

"Everything's fine." He replied back in a neutral tone, which confused the guards even more.

"You sure? You don't need anything like food or something?" The other one asked.

"I wish not to bother you." He replied in a neutral voice again as he looked back down.

"We are here to see the needs of our prisoners and you're a special one so it's no bother." The guard replied with a somewhat angry tone causing Lak to look back up.

"Do you need anything Lak?" The other guard asked.

"Well since it won't be a bother. I do need a place to bathe. I have been running for days and when you can't stop to rest without someone wanting to kill you, it's rather hard to find a place to bathe." Lak continued to look at the guards as they thought.

"We can't really let him out of the cell, at least without someone who doesn't know about him being here seeing him."

"I know, and the bathing rooms are always full...but not the women's room." The guard said with a smile as he looked back at Lak.

"Yeah, and with the only woman guard out for a while it will be empty." The other guard said as he looks towards Lak as well.

"May I ask why she isn't here?"

"She had laid her eggs." Lak nodded.

"Tell her congratulations from me." Both guards shook their heads.

"I don't think she would want that from someone of your kind Black scale" One of the guards responded back.

"At least say someone says it then." The guards smiled and open the cell door to let him out. They carefully watched him as he walked out to make sure he wouldn't make a run for it or something. One of the guards walked in front of him and the other slowly walled behind him as they walked towards the locker rooms. When they reached it the guard that was leading them turned around and looked at Lak.

"Right in there. We'll be out here incase someone comes ok." Lak just nodded and walked into the locker room.

"Hello, anyone in here?" Lak asked as he stopped inside. When nothing responded back and continued in. He carefully kept an eye out to make sure the guards weren't laying a joke so he would get slapped but once he was sure everything was safe he made his way to the back where the showers were. He looked behind one of the curtains to check and when he saw a shower head he turned around to the bench that lied in the middle of the room. He took everything off and quickly jumped in the shower. He turned the water on and soon began bathing.

"How long do you think it might take him?" The guard asked the other one. The other one turned his head towards the end of the hall.

"I don't know but we better move because I see Crystal on her way here with a towel in hand!"

"Should we go get Lak?!"

"No let's let him get smack. It's what his kind deserves." They both laughed as they hurried off. Once Crystal made it to the door she could hear the sound of a shower going off.

"Hey she must be back." She smiled as she walked in. As she walked in all she could hear was the sound of the shower going off and all she could see was the steam coming from it. She continued in towards the back. She peered through the steam to see which one of the showers was going off, and when she did she walked towards it. She patted the curtain a few times but when no reply came out she started to think that one of the boys came in and turned one of the showers on as a joke so she opened the curtain to see if it was a prank, but instead of seeing nothing she saw Lak standing there. They stared at each other for a second before Crystal slammed the curtain shut. She turned her back and began to blush.

"Lak, what are you doing in here?!" She asked with an nervous tone.

"The guards told me to come in here since there would be no one in here, but I guess they were wrong." Lak replied back in a normal tone. "I am sorry, but I will be done soon."

Just then the shower stopped and Crystal covered her eyes as Lak walked past her towards his robe. He quickly placed everything back on. He didn't care if he was wet as he placed everything back on. He made his was to the door and before leaving he turned around and looked at Crystal. "I'm gonna head back into my cell. I'll see you in a little bit." She uncovered her eyes and revealed her blushing face to Lak before he left. She giggled and made sure he was gone before undressing and stepping into the shower herself. On the outside Lak found the guards listening to the door.

"Looks like you made it without being smacked Lak." Both guards responded as he passed them.

"Yeah but..." He stopped as he checked around. He patted himself down and turned around to the door before heading back in. "I forgot something." Hoping he dropped it by the door he opened the door and checked the ground. He looked all around but when he didn't see it he proceeded in more. He carefully sneaked in to the back. Hoping he dropped it before he hit the shower, so he kept his attention down, but with no luck he still continued in. When he got to the back, where Crystal was, He quickly looked around. When he finally spotted it on the bench in the middle of the room, he quickly grabbed it, but as he placed it in his pocket the curtain that Crystal was behind slid open. Lak looked at her and quickly covered her eyes. Crystal grabbed the curtain and covered herself as Lak quickly made his out of the room. As he made his way out both of the guards looked at his as Lak looked back.

"What happened?" One of the guards asked.

"Looks like someone saw a certain someone naked." The other guard responded after a few seconds of silent. At first Lak thought they were going to get in trouble but with what they asked next he was surprised.

"What did you think?" Both guards asked as Lak looked up at them surprised.

"Come on tell us, how nice was the view?" Lak only looked down shaking his head.

"Oh come on man. No man can resist not saying she has a nice body, and to see its full glory any man would that that chance."

"Not a gentleman." Both guards laughed.

"And what idiot told you to never look at a hot female?"

"I was taught to respect their privacy, and never invade it." Both guards laughed again.

"Ok what idiot told you that then?" Just then Lak looked at both of them, and with out them knowing Crystal was behind the door carefully listening. She had just gotten dressed and got in when Lak was mentioning the gentleman thing.

"My father, he taught me that shortly before he died." This shut both the guards up. "He taught me to be a gentleman to all women, not just the fine ones, or smart, or anything, but to all." With that Lak walked right past the guards, but before he walked anymore he turned around. "If I were you two, I would run." With that the guards turned around just in time to receive a smack in the face from Crystal.

"Perverts, I heard you two asking him about me" She didn't get an answer back so she head down the hallway, in the same location where Lak had disappeared into. At first she thought he was making an escape but when she got to his cell she could see the door shut, and him sitting on the bed.

"I'm sorry." Lak said as soon as she saw him.

"Huh?" She didn't expect that.

"I'm sorry about before, I didn't mean to peek. I dropped something and I went back to get it." She just nodded and took her seat.

"It's ok, just next time don't come in." Lak just nodded.

After a few minutes of silence Crystal finally spoke. "So did you really mean that thing about your father?" She asked.

"What thing?"

"About him dying and teaching you about being a gentleman, was that true Lak?" He just nodded. "So he must have been a good guy."

"I don't know, I never really saw him."

"But you said he taught you to be a gentleman."

"That doesn't mean I saw him. He taught me that before I could really see things, but the funny thing is, I don't even remember his voice. I remember the lessons perfectly, but not his voice. I can imagine hearing it in a million voices, but I don't know which one is his."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be, it's not your fault something happened to him." Things went silent again but this time Lak broke it. "Do you still wish to see my face?" This surprised Crystal, since she had forgotten his promise. She didn't say a word but nodded as she stood up. She slowly walked into the cell and next to Lak. All he did was look at her as she reached her hand out. She grabbed the hood and slowly removed it as Lak turned his head and closed his eyes. When the hood was removed she finally saw his face. The scales we black, blacker then she had thought, his face seemed formed as normal dragons with no different characteristics. She just looked at him as he opened his eyes to show its true color. They weren't green like she thought; they were of a light blue with a light ring of silver.

"There's something about you." Lak turned his head to show his other side wrapped in gauze. "Oh my... what happened?!" That's when she notice the blood stain on the gauze.

"This was my last punishment." Was all he could say before Crystal started to unwrapped the gauze. When it was finally off she could see the giant gash mark on his face that lied under it.

"A punishment for what?!" She asked as she examined the gash.

"For helping your kind." She just looked at him as she continued to examine the gash. She quickly left the cell and came back with a first aid kit and quickly went to work on Lak's wound, but after she clean the gash and prepared to stitch it back up Lak stopped her. "Don't do that. I want it to remain open."

"Why would you want that, it could get infected?"

"Because if you try to stitch it back up, two new gashes would come in on both sides. It's been too long to have it fixed up." He replied back as he wrapped the wound back up with some new gauze.

"Are you sure?" She asked and Lak nodded before taking the small pair of scissors from the kit and cut a small hole in the gauze. When his left eye was revealed he slipped his hood back on.

"I'm pretty sure that will happen, now if it isn't a problem could you leave me be. I wish to rest. Now to be mean but I am sure you are tired of being here with me." With that he started to lie down and prepared to rest while Crystal left him alone.

"I guess your not the one I remember." Was the only thing she whispered back as Lak fell asleep.
