“How much'll this break me?" I asked the cashier and placed the dress on the counter. I saw Lacy eyeing this outfit almost the entire time she's been in the store. I watched her examine the price tag and cringe from the sight. I stepped up beside her to look at the tag myself and smiled at her before pulling it from the rack.

“Buck, what are you doing?" she asked me while I put the cloth on the front of her body to see how she looked in it.

“Ain't it obvious, I'm gonna buy you this dress."

“You don't have to do that for me, I don't really need it." She tried to take it from me and put it back. I grabbed her hand and pushed it back down before I put my arm around her neck.

“I don't have to, but I want to" I said as I walked with her to the register.

“Your total comes to three-hundred and seventy-five" the cheetah answered.

“You give military discounts?"

“Yes sir" she nodded and I showed her my military credentials that dad gave me. “Alright, your total now is three-hundred and forty." I swiped my card through the machine and grabbed the dress to give it to Lacy, who surprised me by grabbing my head and planting a kiss on my lips.

“Thank you baby, your too good to me" she hugged me tightly and I felt her tail tapping my legs as it swung about happily. I laughed and put the item over my shoulder and walked out of the store with the vixen still holding onto me.

“Wanna grab something to eat?" I asked her, receiving a nod in confirmation.

“Wait…where's Amanda?" Lacy questioned. I looked around and the husky was nowhere in sight.

“She was with us just a minute ago…right?"

“There you two are."

'Never mind' I thought as Amanda came up beside me.

“You left me all alone back there" She said while glaring at us.

“Sorry Amanda, we thought you were still with us" I apologized.

“Well don't let it happen again."

“Yes ma'am" I replied like a soldier to his CO and saluted her, getting a few giggles from Lacy. Her glare intensified to the point where I was surprised I didn't burst into flames.

“Sorry Amanda, how's about I buy y'all something to eat to make up for it?" I suggested, “Just say where you wanna eat and I'll make it happen." I'm probably going to regret saying that.

“Anywhere?" I gulped nervously at the tone in her voice.

“Within reason" I added in an attempt to rescue my bank account. She snapped her fingers in disappointment and crossed her arms.

“Fine, let's just get something from the food court." She said and walked off without another word. I turned to Lacy and she just shrugged before following the husky while pulling me forward with her.

We got to the food court and I bought the girls some Chinese food like I promised and took a seat by Jay, who was already there and eating. The girls enjoyed their food while I carried on a conversation with him.

“What the hell is that?" I asked Jay about the strange looking concoction he had in front of him.

“Chili" he answered simply.

“Last time I checked, chili ain't blue"

“Food coloring"

“…Why?" He shrugged and went back to eating. I rolled my eyes and watched the people walking around while I waited.

“You look bored." I turned to Lacy as she set her empty tray to the side and put an arm around me to hug me close to her.

“I don't like sittin' around and doin' nothin'" I said and laid my head on her shoulder. She placed tail on my lap and I began to mindlessly pet the furry appendage and smiled when I felt the weight of her head on mine.

“Even if you're doing it with me?" I closed my eyes and released a content sigh.

“If I'm with you, I can suck it up for a while."

“You two make a really cute couple" Amanda commented before her phone rang and she pulled it out to answer it.

“Hello…hey mom…alright, were on our way." She hung up the phone and dropped it back into her purse. “Come on Jay, we need to get going before mom pitches a fit, you coming Lacy?" She asked as she and her brother gathered up their things and got ready to leave.

“No, I might hitch a ride with Buck. That sound good love?"

“Fine with we sweetheart" I agreed and cracked one eye to look at the 2 retreating husky's.

“Alright, then I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow" Amanda waved to us as she left with Jay close behind her.

“So, you finally accepted my offer." Lacy coiled her tail around my waist and rubbed her cool nose on my cheek.

“Well I didn't want to go just yet." Her other arm came over my chest and pulled me tighter to her. “And I've never been the one holding you, it's always the other way around, it's ironic since I have all the fur." I smiled and scooted closer to her.

“It feels better to be held by the goddess…especially one as beautiful as you." She giggled softly and the tip of her tail tickled my chin.

“Play your cards right and this goddess might have to give you her divine blessing."

“I bought you that dress, that's my offering."

“That you did, so now I will have to repay you" she hummed and kissed the top of my head.

“And how do you plan on doing that?" I put my hand and trailed it up her thigh slowly.

“You'll have to wait and see" she purred and nibbled on my ear.

“Then it's a good thing I'm a patient man." I put my arm under her legs and around her back. She squealed quietly in surprise before laughing with me after I picked her up and mad my way towards the exit, “but I ain't that patient."

She rolled her eyes in amusement and relaxed into my arms. I knew everyone was looking at me like I was crazy, carrying my girl through the building, but I couldn't have cared less. I was able to hang out with someone truly amazing, and I'm lucky enough to say…she's mine.
