Byron's ears perked up. "The last rounds are next week. After the tournament, the officials are going back to Korea. Dmitri will have no way of contacting them after that."
"That's not a bad idea," Cody admitted. They looked into each other's eyes for a moment and leaned in for a kiss.
~3 days later, the day of the tournament~
Byron made it to the final round of the tournament. His final opponent was a hedgehog named Trevor.

"Alright...," Trevor responded, "Well, I'll see you around." He walked off to his car and left.
Cody barked at him and took Byron's paw as the walked off. They got to the car and drove back to Byron's house. When they arrived, Cody got out of the car and went to the other side to open the passenger door. He walked Byron up the door of his house a gave him a kiss.
"Congratulations again hun," Cody said.
"Thank you," Byron said, "Do you want to come inside? My parents are out of town on a business trip."

"I wonder what'll happen when Azriel gets out of jail...," Byron wondered.
