Hello Again, Chapter 2
I decided in order to celebrate new years I was going to do a week of updates-- one per day. This was not only to give all of my readers something to occupy their time, but it also serves as a way to get caught up on projects I'd had on the back burner. Last summer I had a poll to determine what stories I would continue and this was one that readers had selected. That in mind, I am finally able to give this story its own folder, and a long-awaited part 2!
As always, thanks for reading, faving, commenting, and interacting!
Hello Again, Chapter 2

Walking along the shoreline of the lake by his home, Keith couldn't help but take glances at his childhood friend. Wesley, for the most part, was looking out across the water; he'd talked almost constantly since they'd shared their kiss, babbling about everything ranging from video games they used to play when they were back in high school, to continuing to express his disbelief and joy that Keith had apparently lined up a potential job at BigYeen. The Coyote, however, eventually fell silent when Keith led him to an overlook. He concluded his rambling with a "Wow."
Keith smiled, looking at the stunned appreciation on his friend's muzzle; the Human had long-since grown used to seeing the setting sun over the lake, but he still enjoyed it. The entire experience was even better getting to see that sense of aesthetic glee on someone else's face. "Beautiful, huh?"
Wes continued staring, tail swaying back and forth behind him, one ear rotating toward the Human. "Man... what a view!"
Reaching out, Keith rested his hand on the back of the Coyote's paw, snapping him out of his reverie long enough to look down at it, then toward the Human. Keith waited until he had Wesley's attention. The words he spoke were ones he'd said any number of times in the innocence of youth with all the childlike excitement of friends getting more time with one another; now that they were older, though, he realized that they could hold a different significance. "Wesley... you wanna spend the night?"
Keith saw the realization in the Coyote's eyes; the words at one time surely got his heart beating faster for a night full of various distractions and games, but Wes' gaze indicated that he realized that the purpose behind the invitation had the capacity to include an entirely different, more ADULT reason. Licking his thin, black lips, Wesley nodded, rotating his paw so he could grip Keith's hand. "I-- ah... yeah. I... I would."
The hesitation in his voice was something that Keith had anticipated, but there was a deeper strength in the words, something that hinted at unspoken desires that the poor Coyote didn't likely have the will to say aloud. Surprisingly, however, Wesley did manage to add "I want to spend the night with you, Keith... if... if that's okay."
Keith smiled at the extra effort his friend put into the confirmation and he leaned forward; Wes didn't so much as miss a beat, leaning forward to meet the Human's lips and they shared another kiss. It was much more brief than their first and Keith pulled back, but not away. Still holding onto the Coyote's paw, he gave it a gentle tug. "Cool... I wanna show you something first though."
Wesley followed obediently, led by the arm, tail wagging tentatively. The Coyote's fingers squeezed against Keith's, entwined as they walked together. The trees wrapped around them like a cloak as they moved further up into the hills at the outskirts of town, deeper into forest and the hills as night set properly. Every time the Human glanced back he saw his companion's eyes focused on him and the road ahead, glinting in that canine way, moonlight casting a silvery sheen over the lighter parts of his fur; Keith found himself enjoying the sight every time he looked toward his friend, his smile coming easily.
It was a round-about way to Keith's parents' home, but there was something magical about the forest at night that he rarely had a chance to share with anyone and, considering every time they paused so he could show Wes the view, the Coyote seemed positively enchanted by each and every vista, eyes glued to the moon-lit valleys, tail swaying absently, paw squeezing just a little tighter. Keith found himself spending just as much time staring at Wesley as the landscape; the Coyote blushed on the occasion their eyes met.
Neither said a word until the trees parted, revealing the driveway leading up to a well-built, good-sized two story home tucked away amidst the trees. The back deck overlooked the river basin from a decent height which granted it a clear view of the valley. Only as they stepped onto the driveway did Keith finally speak again. "Mom and dad are gone for the weekend... you sure it'll be okay hanging out here for the night? It won't mess with your trip up to Oregon, will it?"
Since Keith had come to a stop, Wesley did likewise, eyes scanning the view of the home. Ultimately he shook his head. look around at the tranquil setting, taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside before glancing back to the Human, eyes serious and inquisitive. "N-no, it's fine... really. Your parents are cool with this, right?"
Keith laughed. "Dude... of course they would be. They've known you, like, forever!"
The Coyote wagged even faster, ears perked up and at attention. "Then, y-yeah... that's great! A-and don't worry about Oregon, I left with a lot of leeway... it's not like I'd drive through the night anyway. So... yeah. I'm good with this." His ears lowered slightly, their insides reddening beneath his fur. "Really good with it."
The Human smiled back at his friend, leaning forward to offer a soft, intimate kiss on Wesley's cheek. "Cool... me too."
Keith chuckled to himself when he heard the sound of the Coyote letting out a held breath, and he grinned when Wes raised a slender paw to press against his chest. "I... I really think I like your kisses."
Winking, Keith leaned a little closer. "You only THINK? You don't KNOW for SURE?"
One of Wesley's bottom teeth stuck up out from beneath his lips as he grinned like a goof-ball. "We could... uh... try it some more? You know how indecisive I--"
A fresh kiss silenced the Coyote, and Keith was satisfied when he felt Wesley shiver faintly, and press back against him. Before he knew it, they were in one another's arms, kissing properly rather than just exchanging a quick peck. He found himself enjoying the way his friend leaned into his affections, but, even more so when, once they disengaged, Wesley took a step back, ears folded back in a relaxed, happy pose; it was not an expression his friend had worn often in high school. The Human couldn't help himself. "You're so cute."
Keith stepped up to the house, smiling at the flustered verbal sounds made by the Coyote and he unlocked then opened the door. Wesley had moved after him and froze on the porch, ears going up as his nose began to work. The Coyote's silly smile returned. "Wow... those smells are sooooo familiar."
Laughing, the Human gave his friend a gentle push across the threshold. "It should! You used to spend tons of time over at my place when we were in high school."
Wesley headed in ahead of Keith, nose continuing to work. "Mmm... your mom always made the best food. She did roast chicken last night, huh? I loved her roast--" the Coyote paused. "Why can't I smell Gina?"
The Human paused at that. "Gina? Oh... she moved to New York to attend college last year. She came back for Christmas."
The Coyote surprised the Human by turning around and giving him a huge embrace, squeezing tight. "This is really great, Keith... thanks for letting me stay tonight."
Keith returned the embrace. "No problem, Wes... I'm glad you're here." He waited until his friend disengaged before pulling him back in for a kiss-- just a light one. "The place is ours for tonight... almost like the sleepovers we used to have."
Wesley's eyes remained closed for several seconds after the kiss ended, opening and focusing them back in Keith as his tail started wagging again. "Well... not EXACTLY like old times... I don't think we actually ever kissed in high school."
The Human laughed at that. "Yeah... though I'd wanted to dozens of times."
The Coyote giggled, then fell silent, his ears reddening the very moment he realized what sound he'd made, but he shrugged it off and nuzzled the side of Keith's face. "Yeah... well... that makes two of us."
Keith turned the muzzle into a proper embrace, folding his arms around Wesley as he gave him a full hug. The Coyote had always been lithe, but he'd filled out a little since high school-- still on the underweight side, but he'd definitely gained a little definition, and he paused when he realized the firmness in his pants pressed against a similar bulge in Wesley's. The Human found himself blushing, followed by chuckling. "Okay... a little different from old times."
Wesley panted, nose still working the air. His statement, despite his obvious embarrassment, was not subtle. "You... smell really good, Keith."
The Human laughed, reaching up to press his finger against the Coyote's nose. "Well, you're here all night... so you can smell all you like."
If Wesley was attempting to be subtle about making a slight adjustment in his pants, he failed, and, just as Keith was thinking about it, the Coyote seemed to realize that fact, and his ears wilted immediately, flushing horribly. "I... uh... it's... uh... a perfectly natural reaction."
Keith smiled. "It sure is... I don't mind." He then reached out and took hold of Wes's paw and brought it to his own crotch, letting the Coyote feel his own excitement. "I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if I cared."
He felt Wesley's fingers close lightly around the front of his pants, and had to actively fight back a laugh as his friend let out the kind of a yip he hadn't heard him make since 6th grade. The Coyote would probably have been lit up like a Christmas light from blushing if not for the saving grace of being covered by fur; as it was, Wesley's tail was thoroughly tucked. Smiling, Keith reached out and rested a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Come on... we can share my bed tonight."
Wesley's ears went up immediately, lips pulling back in a drunken smile, revealing that lower tooth again. His voice came out at barely a whisper. "O-oh... okay. That sounds... nice."
The Human's hand slid down from the Coyote's shoulder to his paw, interlacing fingers again before giving him a gentle tug. "Come on... my room's upstairs."
Keith led his friend up the stairs and down the hall. He heard the unmistakable sound of Wesley's nose working the air, confirmed when the Coyote spoke up. "Your room is the last door on the right?"
Laughing, Keith let go of his friend's paw and took the last dozen-or-so steps to the identified room. "Wow... your nose is as good as ever, Wes."
The Coyote blushed, waiting for the Human to open the door before entering. Keith watched as Wesley stopped just inside the entrance, closing his eyes, and taking in a deep breath; he smiled when his canine friend reached out a paw to place against the wall as he got weak in the knees. "Ahh... I miss that."
Keith laughed anew. "What? My stink?"
The Coyote's tail wagged and he moved more fully into the room. "Your SCENT, Keith, not your stink... It's always been my favorite smell. I mean... you-- you smell a little different now-- since... I... er... f-from before... you're more... aged."
The Human raised an eyebrow. "Well.. I AM older."
Wesley quickly added "I mean in a good way! I like it."
Smiling, Keith moved to his bed and took a seat, patting on the mattress next to himself before motioning to the TV on the other side of his room. "You know, I still have my GameStation hooked up if you want to play."
Rather than replying verbally, Wesley moved over and took a seat quickly, folding his paws in his lap as he looked down at them. The Coyote was quiet for several seconds until he finally did speak and, when he did, his voice cracked before shifting to a huskier tone. "I-- ah... n-no... I... I don't think so." Taking a deep breath, Wesley continued. "I think we should just... stay like this for now."
Nodding, the Human inched closer, sliding an arm around his friend. "No prob... I'm just glad to have some time with you again."
Keith let out a contented sigh when Wesley laid his furry head on the Human's shoulder and took in a deep breath himself... followed by more sniffs. The Coyote's eyes slowly transitioned up to meet the Human's, at which point Wesley withdrew, ears reddening. "Sorry... I-- I guess I was doing it again."
Before his friend could pull back, Keith squeezed his arm around Wesley a little tighter, pulling him back into a side-hug. "This is really nice... I miss this."
It wasn't a direct admission that Keith didn't mind, but Wesley apparently got the picture, letting out another sigh before resting his head against the Human's shoulder again, nose nestling a little further into the crook between Keith's shoulder and neck before inhaling deeply. The Human felt the Coyote's entire body relax against him, followed by the faintest, most satisfied whine-- very nearly overpowered by the percussion of tail alternating between hitting wall and mattress. Wesley ultimately let out another long sigh, words accompanying the sound. "Yeah... this IS nice..."
As their embrace slackened slightly, Keith turned to regard his friend; the Coyote likewise rotated his head to look back, nose quivering slightly. Smiling, the human reached up and touched Wesley's cold black nose with his index finger. "You've always used this thing a lot... always sniffing at SOMETHING whenever we were together. I used to wonder what was so interesting, but now I'm starting to think I know."
Wesley blushed again, ears falling as he raised a paw to cover his nose. He tried to laugh, but the sound came out hoarse, but it was accompanied by an admission. "Well... you. It's always been you, Keith. I've just... always kinda... enjoyed the moments."
Not wanting to stress out his friend, Keith nodded, taking hold of Wesley's paw in his hand as the other reached up to gently caress one of the Coyote's large, triangular ears, thumb brushing against the inside just above one of his piercings. "Mmm... wes... I've missed you so much."
He accentuated the admission by leaning forward and offering a soft kiss to his friend's muzzle. Wesley shivered, the fur on his body standing on end, and, as he leaned forward into the kiss, another muted whine escaped him. Unlike previous times, the Coyote was a far greater active participant, parting his muzzle just enough to lick against Keith's lips and the Human didn't mind the least, opening his mouth to meet the canine tongue with his human one; the action caused his friend to gasp out a half-moan. The Human took that as permission to wrap an arm around the Coyote's waist and pull him even closer.
The action drove Wesley to new heights and Keith found himself falling backward onto the bed as his friend threw all of his weight against him, muzzle pressing against his face, canine teeth pinning their lips together as Wesley lapped against his mouth urgently... needy almost, before quickly falling away, panting and flushed. Fanning his face with a paw, Wesley looked everywhere in the room but toward Keith. "Sorry... I kinda... got carried away for a minute and I--"
Unwilling to let his friend backpedal, Keith turned the tables by sitting up and then pressing his own weight against the thin Coyote, resulting in Wesley being on HIS back with the Human atop him. Wasting no time, Keith kissed him anew, having no qualms with invading the Coyote's muzzle with his tongue, receiving another repeat of the wonderful sound of a needy whine identifying that his friend did not mind in the least... though the feeling of something firm in Wesley's pants poking against his thigh was also plenty of an indicator. Keith wasn't about to deny that he wanted Wesley, and it was certainly good to know that the feeling seemed to be mutual.
Keith broke the kiss after a moment and he was rewarded with a euphoric moan from Wesley. Remaining atop his guest, the Human offered another gentle kiss to his nose. "Wes... do you want to go further?"
The Coyote's eyes looked up at him and Keith could see the desire in them, knowing full well the answer before it was spoken. Wesley took a deep breath, nodding slowly. His voice was barely above a whisper when he responded. "Yeah... yeah, I do."
