Kiva, the world's first macro size-shifter, is hired to demolish a historical mental asylum much to the chagrin of the local citizens. At the same time, an urban explorer named Hank is recording his expedition into the haunted location. Will the giant Dire Wolf endear herself to the people of the city? Will the careless adventurer make it out with his footage and his life? ~7,800 words

Mid-day light glared through timeworn glass that had witnessed generations of lives come and go. Paint-peeled walls gave an impression of a wild vortex violently sucking everything to the end of the submerged hallway. There was no electricity to power the lights and based on the brown coloration of the bulbs it's unlikely they would have worked anyway. Cracked ceiling tiles littered the once pristine floor and mingled with dilapidated floor tiles until it was impossible to tell the two apart.

Gordon had spent more time in the abandoned asylum than anyone really should. Originally, he and his team had been given full access to the grounds to plan out the demolition so the city could sell the land to someone. All of their plans were thrown out after the mayor demanded they work with his new pet safety violation. He didn't have any personal grudges against the large Wolf, but it's difficult to not feel a little resentful when she takes your job from you. What would have been a simple job for his company was now a complicated cleanup after a controlled rampage.

Behind him, the creature in question stalked along like she was waiting to be ambushed. Pulling her along with one hand was a slip of a man who comedically juxtaposed her massive bulk. The Wolf towered over Gordon, but even he had a few inches on her Human partner.

“The central building we're in right now is called the Kirkbride Building. Named after Thomas S. Kirkbride, the guy who designed most of the major asylums in the United States." He threw his arms out, pointing both hands fingers out. “Think of the building like a giant bat. This is the body, and the two 'wings' extend out. On our left is the men's wing and on our right the women's wing."

Thanks to touring the building with a city official weeks ago and having to give the tour to his employees, Gordon was an expert at safely leading people around the crumbling ruins and explaining its significance.

"It was built in 1871 and officially closed in 1989. Since then, it's fallen into a state of disrepair because nobody wants anything to do with it. Well, except the damn teenagers. Fuckers keep breaking in to paint the walls and do drugs."

The couple gave each other a quick look and returned their attention to him.

“The man… Vinny! Right, that's his name."

Vinny spoke up. “I thought all of these buildings were put on the national historic register. Wouldn't that make it illegal to demolish this building?"

"Yeah, that's what I thought too," Gordon responded. "Turns out the mayor found a loophole that lets him turn this place into a parking lot. There are lots of these buildings on the register, but sometimes they slip through the cracks and get demolished anyways."

The trio glided from room to room, passing broken equipment and abandoned furniture while he continued his impromptu rant.

“But can you blame them? I mean look at this place! It's falling apart with nobody to take care of it or pay to have it fixed up. And nobody needs it anymore. Unique architecture be damned, de-institutionalization killed any chance of this place existing in the 21st century."

“The style is called 'High Victorian Gothic.'" Responded the smaller man.

“Oh? You know a bit of architecture?"

“It's just a passing interest. I picked up some stuff from comics and television. The rest was research I did after we got the call from city hall. When your wife is hired to demolish a building, you're incentivized to research the place a bit."

“Mhm." Gordon paused at the end of a dark hall that had a thick layer of water submerging it. “We'll need to take the underground tunnels to get to Ward A from here. Too much water damage makes it dangerous to walk here."

“Tunnels?" questioned Vinny. “Why does this place have tunnels?"

“This place was built before all of it, but when the threat of nuclear annihilation was on everybody's mind, they modified the grounds to be self-sustaining in the event of a 'communist invasion.'"

Walking down a flight of stairs covered in safety fencing, Gordon noted that the doorways aboveground were large enough for the Wolf to walk under without ducking. She gave the tunnel a quick appraisal, then turned to him.

“So, you think this place is haunted?" grumbled the woman behind him.

Her deep voice echoed off the jagged walls and seemed to surround him with its presence. Gordon was reminded of the word “Husky" and how it came into use. When Europeans first met the Husky people of Siberia, they were used to canines being smaller than them. Meeting Husky women that towered over them changed their perspective on things a little, hence the word being used to describe larger women. Right now, Gordon felt how they must have felt meeting a woman that loomed over them for the first time.

“No chance." He replied. “They had those ghost hunting guys on television spend a couple of nights here once. If they couldn't find anything with their fancy equipment, what are the odds we would find something? Plus, I doubt ghosts would even want to live here."

Taking a corner on instinct, Gordon waited on the other side to usher the couple under the next archway.

“I've got a question for you, Kiva: Why the heck are you taking this job? I can't imagine you're getting paid that much."

"Have you ever heard the phrase 'Any publicity is good publicity?' It's sort of like that. A couple of months ago, I mooned an entire county fair after growing tall enough to rip a roof off a building. Some people complained, but it made me more popular and I got a bunch of job offers. Vinny and I tend to stay apolitical when possible, but the mayor promised us news cameras, and my last job got canceled by city hall because it was too dangerous to have a giant Wolf woman destroy a building in the middle of the city."

“Ah, so this place is safer because it's in the middle of nowhere."

“Exactly."

Unlike the entrance leading to them, the cramped tunnels weren't built for someone of her size. Kiva had to duck under ceiling pipes and archways that her husband illuminated with a flashlight. The pair eventually made it to the end after Gordon paced up the stairs to the ground floor. Once the couple emerged from the tomb, he escorted them to a familiar room.

“Welcome to my office. This is where I do all my work when I'm here, and it's one of the more structurally sound locations. Means' I don't have to worry about the ceiling dropping on my head."

Taking a seat behind an imposing oak desk that he planned to take home before the demolition, he waved at the couple to take a seat in the two remaining chairs in his office. One squeaky wooden swivel chair for Vinny, and one decrepit chesterfield chair that barely contained Kiva's girth. Gordon leaned forward on his desk and stared down the Wolf.

"So, how exactly does it work? I mean, I've seen the videos. Everyone has. But what's it like?"

The Wolf slumped into her chair and visibly relaxed her shoulders. “I can grow pretty large. It's like a muscle: The more I use it the bigger I can get. I can grow to twice the height of this building and even larger than that if need be."

Gordon ruminated on that. The implications were terrifying. She could easily destroy the entire building at that size. Hell, if she could grow as large as she says, she could just kick it down.

“So," she asked back “is there some specific way to do this? Should I just step on it, or is there a procedure? Anything I should be worried about?"

"Well, first of all, it's a bad idea to crush it vertically. If you step on something and get tetanus, then that's a problem. Also, you might break something underground like a pipe we missed. Then your foot gets covered in sewage."

Leaning back in his chair, Gordon pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one up. He savored the taste before continuing.

“The best thing to do is knock it down from the side. Push it if you can. Maybe shake it until the vibrations do the work like an earthquake."

Kiva sat up and gained a dangerous grin. “I just had a wonderful idea. I think I know exactly how I'm going to take this place down."

Vinny rested his face in his hands and let out a long, practiced sigh.

Gordon continued. “Oh, and there'll be a huge cloud of dust once you do knock it down. I'd avoid standing in it let alone breathing unless you want to drown in lung fluid someday."

Vinny jumped up and his eyes practically widened to the size of dinner plates while his head darted between him and his wife. He looked jumpier than a coked-up Mouse.

“Relax man, I think she'll be fine. We can just give her a respirator while she's on the job."

“Her clothes don't grow with her."

This time it was his eyes that widened. Gordon gave the Wolf an appraising look, then chuckled.

“The mayor doesn't know about that? He's okay with filming you naked on national television and using you to promote his campaign?"

“I guess so. Either he forgot about it or he doesn't know. I guess he's in for a surprise either way!" The Wolf chuckled.

“Just please don't get arrested Kiva." Vinny bit out. “I don't want to drive you home from prison."

“Don't worry honey. I've got a wonderful plan!"

Her fanged smirk didn't convince either of them.

In the parking lot of the forsaken asylum, Gordon strode toward a group of workers who all looked lost. His workers. By now, any normal job would have this place booming with diesel engines ready to topple this mausoleum. But the building still stood, eerie even in the daylight. And his men milled about when they weren't stealing glances at a trio of strangers. Close by was the impromptu couple. Standing next to them, however, was a new face. A very wide and sharp-dressed Hippo the two seemed familiar with.

“You must be Gordon." Said the Hippo before grabbing his hand. “I'm Doctor Smith, and I act as Kiva's liaison to the government."

One bone-crushing handshake later, and Gordon was repeating the plan to his new partner.

“Give it to me one more time."

The beastly woman cleared her throat. “Don't grow too big or step on top of the building, shake it down like an earthquake, let it implode, stay away from everyone when I grow, and never let the building fall outward toward anyone."

“Good! Very good. I trust you to handle this."

He was pleased to know that she was taking this seriously. At least he couldn't be held accountable if she hurt someone. Glancing out past the perimeter fence, Gordon noticed the large group he had been trying very hard to ignore.

“Looks like the paparazzi is here." noted Vinny.

They were here alright. What looked like multiple different news vans had expensive cameras lined up behind the fence and pointed at the building. Another, more indistinct group was milling around the perimeter. They were random citizens who brought family, friends, cameras, phones, and even one enterprising character who brought a grill and was selling hot dogs. One news crew seemed to have special access and was currently interviewing a familiar suit-wearing Rat.

“Isn't that the mayor?" questioned Vinny.

“Seems like." Kiva responded.

The mayor was wildly throwing around his arms as if he were performing the next great American speech. His spindly tail flicked about as his body pivoted from side to side trying to face everyone in the audience at the same time.

“Fucking asshole." Gordon thought. “First he stops hiring us because we're too expensive for his cheap ass, then he makes us play cleanup for 'Attack of the 50 ft. Wolf Woman' so he can justify paying us half the usual rate. I'd call him a rat bastard, but that would probably be racist."

Finally, the Rat made a gesture to the looming building behind him, and a final gesture to the Wolf.

“I think he wants you to get started. We're all clear." Said Gordon.

Kiva turned to her partner and pulled him close. “Let's give them a show!"

The poor man couldn't hope to escape her passionate exploration of his body. Her clawed fingers slid around his back, then under his shirt to caress his bare skin while her tongue danced in his mouth. Vinny struggled for a few seconds before surrendering to her, his muscles going slack and arms wrapping around her neck for support. He was practically swept off his feet while she violated him in front of a dozen national news stations.

“Ah, so she wears the pants then."

The assault continued, and Kiva was practically forcing him toward the ground as he lost his grip on her. Seemingly on instinct, the Wolf hoisted her man up and let him straddle her. Vinny was acting more aggressive than before, retaliating with a barrage of kisses, but it was still obvious to everyone who was really in control. Finally, she freed him from her salacious grasp and gently eased him onto the tarmac. Their mouths slowly parted, both of them were breathing like they had run a marathon.

“It always helps to warm up before I start."

The Wolf looked to the crowd and gave them a sultry wink, then turned around and bent over at the waist to reach her shoes. If Gordon weren't married, he'd feel less awful about staring. Vinny took a step back and situated himself between Gordon and the Hippo. Next to him, Smith looked solemn yet embarrassed by the brazen display. Attempting to look away while she stretched, Gordon got a good look at the mayor's face as he practically lit up in fear.

“Looks like you're in the deep end now." Gordon mused.

_ _ Finished with her laces, Kiva stepped out of her boots and left them where she stood.

“Right," he thought “she probably needs to take her clothes off before she grows."

Kiva experimented with her bare feet on the cracked concrete of the abandoned parking lot. Seemingly satisfied with it, she sashayed across the invisible line they had agreed upon with an exaggerated sway of her hips.

“There she goes." Noted Vinny, looking red in the face and his hands awkwardly crossed over his lap.

Gordon didn't notice it at first. He wasn't expecting a cartoon sound effect or anything, but her transformation was completely silent. All he noticed at first was her height not changing as she walked away from them. Her head imperceptibly inched upward first very slowly, then quickly enough that he could easily see the change. It wasn't just that she was growing taller, it was that her whole scale was changing. Her once normal-fitting clothing looked tighter and strained against her impossible body.

She was wearing a red button-up blouse and bell-bottom jeans that were both fighting her expanding form. Denim was a tough material, and Gordon was secretly hoping it would rip instead of hurting her. His fears were unfounded, however, as the Wolf's generous thighs cut large gashes in the fabric. Fur and flesh spilled out of every new tear like dough rising out of a poorly covered pan. High above her hips, the silky blouse was fighting to stay intact while her wide shoulders grew out.

As if she knew where he was looking, the giant stretched her arms in a circular motion and rent a huge hole in the back of her shirt with an audible ripping loudly echoing over the lot. The tear revealed a comically tiny strap desperately holding her bra together. Spinning on her heel, Kiva faced the crowd and practically posed for them with her arms at her hips and her legs spread apart. What happened next was almost like something out of a movie: Button after button popped off her shirt with a loud plink punctuating each one. Her breasts blew up, revealing a lacy black bra underneath the strips of fabric once called a shirt. Gordon was willing to bet the bra was larger than his head, but down here it looked like she was trying to stuff watermelons into a training bra.

Upon the reveal of Kiva's breasts, the crowd past the fence let out an excited chorus of cheers. Egged on by their positivity, the Wolf crossed her arms and grabbed the remaining clothing on her shoulders before shredding them off her body and leaving her topless. Kiva's top half was now bare to the world except for the tight-looking bra which didn't exactly hide much. Without missing a beat, the once baggy pants which were littered with tears finally fell apart. Though they hung off her waist, a quick cut from her claws had them floating off in the wind to join the blouse.

If Gordon had to guess, he would say she was now twice her original size and still growing. The bra wasn't even hiding her fat areola, let alone her engorged nipples. And the less said about the scandalous thong that used to be sensible underwear, the better.

"Damnit! We pay a lot of money to supply you with clothes!" shouted Doctor Smith at the giant. He was somehow angrier at the giant than scared.

“Y'know she does that on purpose, right?" said Vinny “Back home she loves to grow out of the clothes you supply her with and tear them apart."

“Wh-really?" The Hippo turned back to the growing macro. "You child! Why the hell do I even bother helping you?!"

Kiva simply laughed, a deep booming sound that grew deeper along with her body. Tired of fighting her last article of clothing, the Wolf stretched her arms above her head and quickly expanded by a large margin. The lingerie finally gave up and violently snapped off of her. With nothing to hide her body, Gordon finally got to see the world's first size shifter in her natural state. She was built like a fertility goddess, except that wasn't exactly accurate. It would be better to say she was built like the fertility goddess' sister who did squats using her sibling as weight. Kiva's body was simply monstrous, with muscle to spare. Well-defined abs were visible underneath a thin layer of fur. He was willing to bet she couldn't just look down and see them past her massive breasts. Her muscled ass and titanic hips cut an intimidating figure even before she grew to half the height of the asylum. If she weren't wearing baggy clothes every time they met, Gordon would have had a harder time keeping his eyes off of her.

The giant finished her stretch and reveled in the attention of the crowd. Gordon's men were whistling and catcalling her with no fear. Even worse, she turned to them and cocked her hips, striking a pose and winking for them which only made the cheering louder. Phones in hand, the crowd was dutifully recording the entire ordeal for the rest of the world to see. Professional camera operators looked on in confusion, seemingly not knowing whether they should be recording her creative striptease. Kiva continued to move from pose to pose, first bending at the waist then leaning on her knees and facing behind her to flash the “peace" sign at the crowd. Next, she rose back to her full height and then some. Another growth spurt shuddered up her body and left each step she took louder than before.

Now almost as tall as the asylum's four-story wings, she leisurely strolled across the lot to the building in question. Upon reaching the main building, her gargantuan hand grasped the edge of the roof. The giant turned her head to face the crowd, and her body meticulously slid down the brick wall until she was on her knees. They may have looked soft, but her gigantic breasts scraped across the brick and pushed some of it inward until it fell apart. There was now a twin trail of destruction on the side of the main building where she slid down, and a third mark was left by her clawed hand sliding down halfway as it fell in front of her.

Balancing on her toes with her knees bent in a squat, everyone got to see the world's most powerful ass flex for the camera. Kiva was treating this event for what it was: an expensive and destructive photo shoot. Another wave of energy seemed to shoot up her body, and the giant let out a deep moan as she arched her spine and grew. Her head climbed higher and higher until she was taller than the four-story wing while squatting. Standing up made it incredibly obvious how much she had grown: Her crotch was now level with the roof. This seemed to be part of her plan though.

Kiva found a corner of the wing she was standing closest to, “Female Ward", he remembered. Then, with no regard for the people watching, she began grinding against the edge. A collective gasp of shock came from the onlooking crowd, along with some more cheering from a select few members. Even his crew seemed too stunned by the audacity of it to continue their hollering. Spreading her legs out and finding purchase, the giant made more violent thrusts and found a rhythm that seemed to please her. It took Gordon a second to realize her plan would work.

“If she keeps up a consistent rhythm, she could make the whole thing collapse. But it would probably only affect each wing she did it on."

The entire structure seemed to shudder under her grip. Buildings are a lot more flexible than people realize. Most people are shocked to learn that skyscrapers sway in high wind conditions and that it's considered very normal and safe. Thanks to her lewd thrusts, the asylum was swaying like those skyscrapers he had seen in the past. Each plunge of her hips sent a wild shockwave down the wing which seemed to push the entire thing until it looked like it was rocking from side to side. Funnily enough, the energy seemed to dissipate when it reached the middle building, proving his earlier hypothesis correct. It meant she would have to work on each part separately. The thrusting continued, getting faster and faster. Kiva's lusty breathing could be heard way out here, sounding like an earthquake as it synced up with each cataclysmic drive of her hips.

Finally, something inside the archaic structure gave up, and the female ward imploded. A huge cloud of dust exploded outward and upward, though the Wolf was still lucid enough to step away before it could reach her face. She had a hungry look in her eyes that focused on the opposite end of the lot. Her next target would be the men's ward. Walking behind the building and seemingly ignoring the cameras for the first time, Kiva was briefly hidden by the dust cloud and the spire in the middle building. Her colossal form resurfaced after a minute or two, and she went back to work finding a spot to sexually assault.

“Did she grow bigger behind the building? And why did she take so long to walk around?"

Before he could ruminate on those thoughts, Gordon was distracted by the Wolf's continued performance. Once again, she found a spot that pleased her and got to work. This time the pace started quick. White liquid dripped from her chest, then poured out like a leaky faucet. If the building didn't have water damage before it certainly had milk damage now. She looked frustrated like she couldn't hit the mark just right.

“It's not sturdy like a table or a washing machine. That thing just falls apart under her grip before she can get what she wants."

A few minutes passed while Kiva lost herself to the passionate carnage. Eyes closed and drool pooling out of her mouth, the Wolf almost didn't notice when her support fell apart from right under her. Another building down, another cloud of smoke rising above her, and she didn't look happy about it. That is until she noticed her final target. The Kirkbride Plan usually meant for the middle building to be the tallest at five-stories and have either a domed top or a spire. Luckily for Kiva, this asylum had a large bell tower that ended in a wicked point. Her eyes instantly lit up once she saw it, and the Wolf made for the center building.

As she ambled toward the final structure, the Wolf grew one final time. The incredibly boisterous thoom of her footsteps grew to near-deafening levels. She was now taller than the complex by a large margin. Tall enough to have the tip of the spire just below her soaking entrance. The Wolf turned around, her lengthy legs flying over the parking lot, and her feet landed in the rubble of the demolished wings, allowing her to face the crowd. Before anyone could react, Kiva lined up her cavern with the tip of the spire and plunged onto it with a great crash.

Pure ecstasy was etched onto her face, but Kiva looked like she was struggling to keep it in. She kept her mouth closed, but saliva leaked out of her lips constantly. Milk poured from her bountiful tits and onto the front entrance of the violently trembling building, and the tower was soaked in her emission. Thanks to her powerful muscles, she was able to piston herself on the tower over and over without losing balance. Even with the immense pleasure she must be feeling, the Wolf held it together until the end. Thrust after thrust left her humming louder and louder until one final thrust made her twitch and quiver her legs, crushing the bell tower between her engorged lips.

A loud ringing resonated out as the bell gave the world its final note and fell with the rest of the tower. So caught up in her excitement, Kiva didn't seem to realize that she fell to her knees and crushed the front entrance with her gargantuan thighs. She reacted quickly and tried to right herself, but only ended up falling onto her back and crushing the rest of the building under her immense bulk. Another huge cloud of dust blew up as it fell, this time completely covering the giant.

“Oh God, I hope she remembered to hold her breath!" cried Vinny.

Distress seized the young man's face. The Hippo next to him seemed less concerned.

“Don't worry Vincent, I'm sure she wasn't hurt. You've seen the kinds of things that are needed to hurt Kiva when she gets to that size."

Only time would tell if the fall hurt her or not. Gordon looked to his right and saw the mayor covering his mouth with his hat. The Rat looked like he wanted to die on the spot. Luckily for him, he also looked like he was about to have a stroke.

“Huh. I didn't know fur could turn red."

The utter calm of the asylum grounds made daily life in the city seem so haphazard and chaotic by comparison. No cars were barreling down the pavement outside, no people talking, just a cool breeze blowing through broken windows and open holes in the ancient building. Hank was used to the eerie calm of an abandoned locale like this because he was an urban explorer. He had delved into abandoned warehouses, rundown hospitals, decommissioned military bases, you name it. The asylum was always on the top of his list to explore, but he never had the nerves to go and do it. Now though, the upcoming demolition had pushed him to finally go out and explore the haunted structure.

Having snuck through a hole in the fence behind the complex, Hank managed to avoid any security guards and entered through a busted door at the end of a wing. He was feeling pretty good about bringing gloves and getting them covered in dust and dirt instead of his fur. The only problem was he needed heat directly from his body to use his phone, so he took off one glove and used his bare hand to start recording. Luckily, his hand wasn't too sweaty, and the touch screen still worked. It was good luck that the deserted complex wasn't too humid.

“I'm here at the New York State Hospital in what I believe is the female ward. We're on the first floor which held all the therapy rooms."

Hank pointed his phone at a room filled with high-standing bathtubs and mysterious black bags attached to them.

“This looks like hydrotherapy."

Lifting the camera higher, Hank got a good angle of a decorative mural on the wall. A beautiful swan painting on the wall supervised the room. No doubt it was a guardian angel for the patients here. Or perhaps it was a sign of ill omens? Hank didn't know if the therapy was any fun to experience, but the research he did before he came here suggested it was very mixed. It didn't help that the surrounding walls were covered in more recent and very morbid graffiti.

“At least the local artists were kind enough to not paint over it." He observed for his future audience. He had already decided to add the history lessons in post so he could save his breath here.

Turning out of the room, the Cat drifted down a paint-peeled hallway and peered into each room he passed. Most of them had broken doors or were in such a state of decay he couldn't safely enter.

"This whole place is a safety hazard. The ceiling is falling apart, the windows are all busted, and I hope there isn't any asbestos floating around." He punctuated his ramblings by pointing his phone at the ceiling tiles, which were falling apart right over his head.

Hank continued walking until he reached a staircase at the end of the hall.

“So, my plan is basically to climb to the top floors and get all the stair climbing done at once, then do a sweep of each floor." He angled the phone up the circular staircase tower and got a perfect view of the ceiling four stories up. "Oh boy, it's a bit of a climb."

With a loud sigh, Hank began his journey up the decrepit tower. The staircase was lined by metal fencing outside the handrails.

“They probably put this fence on the stairs to stop people from jumping. Gives the place a real spooky look."

Finally, after climbing flight after flight of rusted staircases, he arrived at the fourth floor short of breath. The Cat took a moment to compose himself, take some deep breaths, and check his phone. Satisfied, he continued his journey down the new hallway.

"This place is like a maze. Look:" He pointed the phone at a row of doors in the hallway. "If it weren't on a completely different floor, I'd say this was the same hallway from a few minutes ago. If it were nighttime, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Well, there is one. The windows were boarded up on the first floor, but not up here for some reason."

Grabbing the nearest door handle with his free hand, Hank struggled to pry the door open. With a dignified hmph, the Cat stuck his phone in his pocket, fished his glove out of a different pocket, put it back on his hand, and fiercely yanked on the door handle. A couple of tugs had the heavy metal door crack open, then fly open so quickly that he almost fell on his back. Taking off his glove and grabbing his phone again, Hank began filming the room and almost had a heart attack when he realized there was no floor.

“Holy crap! The floor fell out."

There was nothing left inside the room. Just debris and a view of the trashed floor beneath him. Hank turned back and began pacing along the hallway.

“No wonder they're trashing this place. The floor might fall out under me if I-“

BOOM

A terrible vibration shook the entire complex and almost made him trip. Tiles fell from the high ceiling and dust surged out of hidden corners and into the air.

“What the hell was that?"

A second of silence answered him, followed by another resounding crash that rattled the building and threw him off his balance again. Then another, then another, and another shake…

“Shit. They're demolishing it today! I have to get downstairs and out of here right now!"

The rumbling of the demolition turned him on his head and threw off his sense of direction. Instead of heading back where he came, Hank ran toward the central building. With very un-catlike grace, the explorer stumbled toward a set of double doors at the end of the hall like a drunk sailor on a ship's deck. The doors refused to budge, which sent him into panic mode. Hank slammed his shoulder into the door with all his might but only managed to knock it open for a second before it closed.

It was meant to be pulled from this side, not pushed.

“Of course." He chided himself.

Thrusting the door open with all of his strength, he stumbled past the threshold and tripped past the railing of a balcony. Right as he landed flat on his stomach a harsh groaning emanated from behind him. Flipping onto his back, Hank was just in time to watch the entire wing behind him collapse into a spectacular cloud of dust. The Cat carefully stood up and attempted to clean himself off. His once powder gray fur was covered in a layer of brown debris that he seriously hoped would wash out later.

Coughing, stumbling, and alive. He was so happy to be alive. Hank shuffled over to the gigantic hole where there was once another building. Next to the hole was a staircase he was hoping to use to use to get down and leave…

“Oh no…"

Except the staircase collapsed with the rest of the wall. There was no going down unless he was okay with breaking his legs.

“Maybe I can use the stairs at the back of the main building? Then I can exit out the back and nobody will see me!"

It was the closest thing he had to a plan. Happy to move as far away from the colossal hole as possible, he skipped past a new set of doors and made his way down another identical corridor. Even up here on the fourth floor, water accumulated on the ground and left dangerous spots where the ground could just give out and drop him without warning. But he didn't have time to worry about avoiding every little danger. His heart was beating harder and faster than it ever had. Between that and his general state of panic, Hank almost missed the consistent booming that shook the lights above his head.

“Are those… footsteps?"

Passing another set of rusted double doors, a spacious abandoned gymnasium sprawled out before him. Grimy but intact windows took up most of the wall space and afforded the gym more natural light than any other room in the building. Hank wasn't focused on the glass itself, but he was focused on what was behind it. Enormous fur-covered thighs strode past the gym, each step they took coinciding with the vibrations he had felt earlier. He was too stunned to move, even when those titanic pillars lowered and revealed a face.

The woman gazed through the window and directly at him with those fierce crimson orbs that were larger than his own body. A proportionate eyebrow raised higher on her face, and her body shifted. Suddenly, a powerful crash accompanied the nearest window exploding into thousands of pieces. The Wolf's extensive hand broke through the glass and tore up the wall around it. Hank hit the ground and covered his head as glass and plaster rained down and pelted his body. Still paralyzed by fear, Hank didn't do anything while the Wolf grabbed him and lifted him out of the neglected gymnasium.

Her hand was so warm. She was like an oversized electric blanket, almost burning him in her grip. Although she was on her knees, she had to lift him to her face which was high above the fourth floor he was just in. The Wolf gave a huff, and her humid breath washed over him.

“What do we have here? Looks like a trespasser on my big day."

Hank had the feeling she was trying to keep her voice down for his benefit. Even so, she was so loud that her words felt like they were going to shake him apart.

“I can't just let you leave without turning you in, but I also need both hands to finish this place off." The Wolf looked to her left toward the floating cloud of rubble she created. “Of all days you could have snuck in here, and you had to choose now? At least I didn't kill you."

Even if he had room to move, he wouldn't. Hank was so terrified by this monster who literally held his life in her hands that he couldn't even think of a potential way out of this. He'd happily go to jail if it meant not dealing with this thing ever again.

The Wolf's immense eyes flicked side to side as if frantically searching for something. Then they gained a look of resolve and bore directly into him.

“I promise I'm not going to eat you. If I accidentally swallow, I'll even puke you back up."

Before he could parse that statement, the beast raised him above her head and opened her mouth. She unfurled her hand and dropped him into her waiting maw. Accompanied by only darkness and her mouth's loud squelching, Hank felt like a piece of chewed-up gum tumbling toward her throat. During what he assumed was another part of the demolition, he felt powerful vibrations all around him. The Wolf's mouth was shaken into a rhythm by her movements outside. Hank couldn't tell how long it lasted, but eventually, it stopped. His captor was breathing harder and accumulated more of the slick slime coating everything, making it harder to get a grip let alone breathe.

Suddenly, he feels a stretching sensation. His entire body felt like it had pins and needles going through it all at once. It wasn't painful, but it was very unpleasant. This time, the rhythmic shaking felt more like bouncing. She was bouncing up and down fast enough for him to tumble around her slick maw like a pinball. The monster's thick, saliva-coated tongue lifted up and over him before crashing on top of him and pinning him to the bottom of her jaw. Hank felt like he was going to puke. Bouncing up and down, up and down, with no room to move and hardly able to breathe. The liquid cavern was slowly drowning him. A final crash rang out and shook his fleshy prison harder than anything previously had, then a sensation of falling hit him before everything went black.

Vinny hated to admit it, but he enjoyed his wife's antics when they didn't bite her in the ass. He was so desensitized to her abrasive personality that he got a sort of perverted joy watching others react to her specific brand of madness. That wasn't the only perverted thrill he got out of today though. When your wife uses a building as a dildo in front of a crowd of spectators, it's hard to not be affected by it. Still, he was worried about everything that had just happened. Their public image was somehow even more family-unfriendly, it's possible they may not get any jobs in the future outside of porn, and worst of all: Kiva could have been seriously hurt from that fall she just took.

On his left, Doctor Smith looked serene as ever, even after witnessing that mess. Vinny could tell from experience that he was probably worried underneath his incredible poker face.

“Maybe Hippos are just difficult for Humans to read?" He pondered.

On his right was Gordon, his fellow Human, and foreman for this project. He had a very out of character smile plastered on his face, but he wasn't looking at the fallen structure. Tracking his eyes, Vinny saw the mayor cringing with embarrassment. It was even easy to see behind the dark fur and hat covering his face. The sound of falling bricks forced his attention back to the collapsed structure. A massive figure sat up and attempted to escape the dust cloud, her rising silhouette moving at a sluggish pace due to her new size. Kiva triumphantly stood up to her full height and dusted herself off. Each of her fingers must have been larger than a single person because her feet looked large enough to crush the crowd in front of her in one step.

That's a morbid thought. I know she'd never do that. Uh, I hope she'd never do that."

Thankfully, the crowd wasn't thinking the same thing because a wild cry of celebration rose from them. Not one to ignore praise, Kiva took an elegant bow that made her look like she was trying to overshadow everyone there. Watching her at this size was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Every single detail of her body was magnified and easier to see, even from way down here. Vinny could even tell based on her shadow's movement that she was beginning to shrink. In only a couple of seconds, Kiva went from the tallest thing for miles to a taller than average Dire Wolf standing in the middle of an empty parking lot.

“A very naked Dire Wolf." Vinny noted, grabbing a nearby blanket from a pallet of supplies, along with Kiva's boots.

Before he left, Gordon grabbed his shoulder. “Hey kid, that was hilarious! I'd be happy to work with you two again on more stuff like this." The man paused and snuck another glance at the mayor, before continuing. “Maybe less politically motivated jobs. But having a giant around to do some heavy lifting wouldn't be so bad."

"Thanks, Gordon. It was nice working with you."

After an incredibly painful handshake, the foreman left to round up his crew. Vinny wasted no time spinning around and meeting Kiva halfway, dropping her boots in front of her. While she silently slipped into them and bent down to tie the laces, Vinny draped the blanket over her shoulders. Finished with her footwear, Kiva stood up and gripped the blanket.

“Hey, you didn't breathe any of that stuff, did you? Gordon said you might get hurt if you did."

His wife looked down at him with foggy eyes. She silently shook her head.

“You didn't get hurt, did you?"

She shook her head again.

“Is there a reason you can't talk to me?"

This time she nodded her head. Her eyes had swelled up enough that she looked like she was about to cry. Vinny rushed to grab her hand, only to be pulled into a deep hug. It was surprisingly gentle for Kiva. They just stood there for a time until the familiar sound of clicking shoes made Kiva let go of him. Doctor Smith finally caught up with them.

“Doc, do you know someplace we can get away from the crowd? I think Kiva wants to be alone for a while."

Smith looked at them both but seemed to flinch at Kiva's tears. “Alright, I know a place. Follow me."

The Doctor led them across the lot and down a trail behind the complex. The trio was quiet the whole way there, nobody had the nerve to break the unnatural silence. Kiva held his hand the entire walk, her grip never loosening. Finally, after the sounds of construction equipment and rowdy crowds died down, they stood on a hill covered in grave markers. Each one was completely identical to the others save one detail: They were all numbered. No names or birth dates or even death dates, just numbers. Kiva let go of his hand and took a step back from them.

Smith was the first to act. “Kiva darling, what's the matter? Let us help you."

Kiva held out a hand and opened her mouth over it. Out slid a small saliva-covered figure that fits perfectly in her palm. The Dire Wolf very tenderly carried it closer to them and presented it. It looked like a doll. A very realistic doll with tiny clothing, a backpack, and even details like ears and a tail where they should be. It was a tiny Cat Anthro with powder gray fur, realistic in every way.

“D-did you put this in your mouth during the demolition?" Vinny started. “Where did you even get it? And how did you fit it in your mouth when you were that big?"

“He's a real person. I put him in my mouth while I was walking behind the building and forgot to take him out before I shrunk because the crowd distracted me." Kiva was sniffling now, tears running down her cheeks. “I think I killed him."

Vinny and Smith turned to one another. The normally composed Hippo looked like he was about to have a heart attack. Vinny felt how he looked.

“You shrunk him? A-a-are you sure he's dead? I mean, it's not like hearing people breathing is easy when they're small. Remember the lake? You thought you killed me then, but I was alive." Vinny was panicking now, but he couldn't stop. “What the hell was he even doing in there? The whole place was closed down for this! Everyone should have known the date, and who doesn't notice a giant Wolf tearing the place down?!"

A heavy hand grabbed his shoulder and anchored him to his spot. "Vincent, please! Let me figure this out. I'm sure we can find a way through this. I won't let anyone take her away from you."

Vinny was about to reply, but a squeaking noise interrupted his train of thought. The minuscule figure on Kiva's hand was making a tiny screeching noise.

“Coughing," he thought “He's coughing. That means he's alive."

The trio stared down at the microscopic Cat as he stood up in her palm. Kiva looked up to them for support.

“What do we do now?"
