The Key of Change - Chapter 5
Keiko is officially leading things for a while. To be able to live as her however, quite a few things need to be done... And getting some help might be useful.
Chapter 5: Keiko’s time
Keiko woke up slowly, her hands digging into the blanket and bed sheets, her face slowly turning into her pillow and out before breathing a content little sigh. It had been quite a while since she last slept so well, and today was the perfect day for it to happen. Her mind had been set the day before, if she was to survive this problem, figure out what happened, she’d need to be living as Keiko. That was the bed she made for herself and now she was enjoying laying in it a bit too long.
Eventually her phone rang the end of her lazying, ringing an annoying alarm she set beforehand, sure she wouldn’t get up in time without it. “Got it got it…” She let out in a slow groan before slapping around until she stopped it, and slowly sat up in her bed. The blanket falling, revealing her mostly naked body in the process, had her looking down… With a blush, she noticed she very much still wasn’t used to her new body but… it might come in time, or change back to what it once was. Her hands slowly squeezed her own breasts, wondering what it would take to properly clothe herself and… thus, decided this shall be today’s task. Going out to grab a few outfits so as to not look weird was probably the best way to go about it.
The thought of asking Haru for help, as she knew how popular he was, was one that came into her mind but… the images of what she did with him the day before came right up into her mind, her digits covering her lips while her cheeks turned bright red… Not now, she couldn’t face him again just yet… She’d need to just ask the store clerks. So she set out to get ready, tying up her hair in some form of a ponytail with a few strands of hair framing her cute, soft looking face, and eventually put on the only outfit she could fit in before going out. She felt in her element on the way to the shopping district, ignored on the streets, in the train, maybe it was the outfit but… she didn’t need to be as self conscious as she had once assumed. And while this was what “Kei” was used to, the thought of Keiko not needing to hide did come to her mind… After all, if she was to be some other person for a while, maybe taking a bit more freedom with the way she acted could do her some good, right?
The mask of acting she wore as this new role she set for herself was getting comfortable to say the least, but it didn’t really make her any better at the task she had set for herself… Once she was in the shopping district, she started to walk from store to store, barely daring looking at each storefront, much less walk in. There were so many people and she truly didn’t know what she was looking for, so her wandering and confusion were only going on more and more… Until someone pulled her out of it, someone she didn’t even notice at first.
“Hey… Lady? Hey?” The voice was first enthusiastic, then rather interrogative as if going from casual to concerned… Keiko didn’t even bat an eye as she looked around while walking, until the man stepped from behind her, right in front of her.
“Ah!” She yelped, taking one quick step back after bumping into him. Her eyes only met… chest, quite a lot of it, well dressed with a white shirt opened at the collar, a black blazer for a rather relaxed-formal look overall… Whatever was below the belt seemed black in color too, probably pants going quite well with the blazer. But her eyes went up, as she wondered why everyone needed to be taller than her. When she found the boy’s face, she saw his dark eyes, pretty looking face, and knew instantly all the trouble some pretty boy accosting girls in the daytime could be… The type of guy that just hit on girls all day long, probably some host trying to lead customers to their club or just some guy doing Nanpa hoping to get lucky if he hit on enough girls. Either way, she was rather terrified at the sight, the idea that someone could just come talk to her randomly in the street putting her extremely on the defensive.
“I’m sorry, I’m not a customer.” She instantly cut things short with a light bow of her head, respectfully breaking down the other’s hopes at getting some girl to his club.
“Wuh?-” The taller man’s head tilted to the side as he was taken aback by her brutal rejection, and before he could say anything more she walked right past him. “Wait!” He called out, turning around to go after her. “You dropped this!” He added as he extended his arm above her shoulder, putting her wallet in her field of view, which instantly stopped her.
“Oh.” She let out with a surprised look… before slowly turning her head towards the man, her eyes squinting at him… It was rather obvious what thought crossed her mind, and quickly the man answered her gaze.
“I’m not a pickpocket. First you call me a host, then that… Jeez I thought I had fashion to a T but, guess I’m not quite there yet.” He answered with a smirk, still handing the girl her wallet. “Don’t worry, I won’t bite. I just saw you looking rather confused and when I was about to ask if you needed a hand something fell from your pocket.”
Keiko’s face went from that doubtful expression to a lightly pouting one, before both of her hands clasped gently on her wallet, and nodded lightly as a little “Thank you…” escaped her lips. “And… No you look good in this just… Well, you know the types I’m talking about… Right?” She asked with a hopeful gaze up at him, which had the other’s heart skip a beat for a second.
It was hard to stay angry at such an adorable look from this smaller girl, not that he was mad before then really. He just chuckled and nodded “Yeah I get it, don’t talk to strangers and all that.” he casually answered, crossing his arms now that his hand was free, and looked down upon the girl. “Trying to find some new style?” He took a shot in the dark, albeit considering her outfit was tight in some places, and way too baggy in others, it wasn’t too hard of a guess to make.
“E-Eeh…?! How do you know?!” It didn’t stop Keiko from being amazed by it however, her eyes shimmering for a second at the sight of a man able to read people’s minds, or outfits… Either way it was a rather useful skill. “I… Yeah I don’t know anything in Fashion… I just got here and everyone is so stylish while I always wore… Uh…” She tilted her head, before finding a good enough explanation “My brother’s hand-me-downs.”
The man in front of her had his eyes open in something close to terror as she told him a heart wrenching tale… Although most of the heart wrenching part was in his own brain, as thoughts of a poor family living in the mountains with a little field or wherever people lived outside of cities, having to wear her brother’s clothes without ever complaining, working odd jobs here and there to put money aside both to help her family and live her dreams as an idol in the city… He could almost cry from such a beautiful story. Nevermind that none of this was true, or even spoken by either of them, but it still made him react positively. A second later he gave the girl a thumbs up, a bright smile and let out in a boisterous voice “Alright lady, I’ll help you! And I’m sure you’ll hit it big after that!”
“... … Eh?” Keiko tilted her head to the side in complete confusion. She didn’t know what she was supposed to hit big, but she did understand that he offered his help. “I… I mean sure, if you want you can show me some stores girls like around here?”
“One date in the city coming right up!” He added, mostly ignoring her in the process as he continued to bring things to his pace… And before the girl could protest, he took a few steps to walk past her, before turning back and signing her to come with him. From a few steps away, he was quite pretty in a male kind of way, as if he had some form of shine to him. Maybe it was that silly smile or that ability to be oblivious when it suited him but… She felt like she could trust him, at least for now.
“Wait! What’s your name?” She called out as she tried to catch up the few steps between them. “I’m Keiko!”
“Heh, cute name.” He let out, ever so suave with a gentler smile, which instantly had the girl blushing, albeit unable to respond as he continued “I’m Mitsuru. And it’s not even my host name.”
“Eh? So you really are-”
“Oh look, the first store is right there!” He cut her right into her question, sweeping the rug from underneath her as her eyes went to the place he pointed to. She simply chuckled and shrugged, before following him there. It was rather bold for a boy to simply walk in a girl’s clothing store but, it seemed like he was used to it… And once she was in there with him, he wouldn’t get any disturbed gaze from anyone.

Things were a bit of a blur in the different stores. Mitsuru was looking at her quite often, putting some article of clothing between them both, swapping with something else, picking something… Adding to it whatever accessory or missing piece there was as they went along. She didn’t have to carry anything, and to be fair she was all too confused by this fashion thing to even be of any help at all. But once she got to the changing room, one outfit was definitely a winner.
“Holy-” The boy almost let out a rather crude expression as she came out of the changing room. Instantly, the girl blushed, looking around herself as she wondered if he was shocked because of someone else, then looked down at herself.
“D-Does it look weird…?” She said as she started to turn on her own feet slowly, showing off the thigh length sweater dress, a soft beige with simple woven stripes going from top to bottom, only spreading aside to underline the heavy shapes underneath it… Her chest, her thin waist, her ass and hips… Everything was so tightly wrapped into it, leaving not much to the imagination, yet letting one wonder how it would be to discover it all. Her thighs were not left in the dust however, as some of them showed up in a small gap, to soon find a knee height pair of brown boots covering the rest of her legs, laced all the way up. In Mitsuru’s eyes, there was nothing weird about it… The only weird thing was how the girl managed to hide such sex appeal beneath that weird outfit she had on before.
“No, it looks… Amazing, you look amazing Keiko.” He simply answered, dumbfounded as he stared right at her when her little turn ended.
“E.. Eh…?” She answered in her shocked little voice, her face going bright red in the process. Once more, she turned her back to him, to look at herself once more in the mirror… The outfit was quite beautiful, and her dark hair sliding down the pale sweater dress made a perfect contrast with it and her skin. The boy’s taste in clothing was quite something, and of course the compliment only helped bolster her confidence… For the very first time, she truly felt like a woman. It was silly to attribute this to something like clothing but… it truly did flick a switch in her mind. “I… Th-Thanks… I’ll get that one then…”
Quickly she disappeared back into the changing room, her hands still shaking, heart racing, as she tried to focus her mind on the task. She didn’t know being complimented could feel so nice, so warm… Although she didn’t think it’d work with just anyone. Mitsuru was just a stranger, it was a stranger’s opinion, the only reason she was so flustered was simply… simply because she never heard those words before. Of course.
As she stepped back out, Mitsuru asked her “Hm? You don’t want to keep it on?”
“It’s… It’s a bit much maybe…” She answered, obviously a bit too embarrassed to keep it on after his reaction.
“Yeah… You’re right, maybe keep it for a special occasion… And let’s get you something a bit more casual for right now okay? My treat.” He offered with a smile, before taking the boots and dress to the store clerk to cash it out later.
“Wha? You don’t need to! I have some money it’s–”
“Ah! Keiko! So eager to prove she can make it on her own after the dreadfulness of the life of poverty she had so far away from civilization-” He started in his boisterous voice, like a drama student starting up a play in the middle of the store.
“S-Stop! Stop…!” She whisper-yelled, tugging nervously on his sleeve to stop his ridiculous movements. “Fine… Just… Just one outfit!” She yielded, as the poor girl couldn’t take even more embarrassment, and the boy showed her a victorious smile.
In the end, Keiko paid for the dress, boots, and a few other odds and ends she found here and there for cheap and… Mitsuru bought her the “more casual” outfit she had now on. A form fitting thin sweater on her upper body showing off her shapes all too well, with a jacket covering it for that simple added layer of mystery, a fluttery half thigh skirt paired with thick, winter stockings, and even some not too expensive shoes she insisted on picking as she didn’t want the total price to go all too high. In the end, she didn’t know if the outfit looked cool, cute, or sexy, but she did feel like it fit her quite well. The relaxed vibe only a soft movement away from an all too alluring sight as that lovely body bounced… Which left her with one thing left on the list.
“So, where to next?” He asked, as the girl tried to stealthily point towards an underwear store. For once Mitsuru’s balance was shaken, as he looked over there and back, a light blush on his cheeks. “O-Okay can’t help you there… I’ll let you just… Talk to the saleswoman inside and… I’ll wait here.”
She nodded furiously before pushing her bags right into his arms and rushed right towards the store, her ponytail floating behind her back in that lovely new outfit of hers, his eyes fixated on every movement of it all.
Eventually she came back out, as red as she was before with a little bag and started to walk once more with that guy she found herself hanging out with now… Silently for now, as she didn’t know what to even say.

What had first started as Keiko simply accepting Mitsuru’s help to find some clothes had turned truly, like he promised, into some sort of date where not only did he manage to gift her something, but by the end of quite the shopping trip, brought her back to some Karaoke in the early hours dusk to grab something to drink, eat and have some fun doing it. Nevermind the fact that Karaoke had private rooms, truly that had to be a coincidence. After all it’s completely normal to grab a meal at a Karaoke rather than a restaurant. It isn’t? Well, at this very moment Keiko hardly doubted it, completely swept into the man’s rhythm, as he was now about to have them sing.
Keiko was of course dreading it quite a bit… After all this voice of hers, as soft as it was, was one she only got recently… She couldn’t control it, much less sing with it. And while she tried all she could to avoid it, eventually after Mitsuru sang enough songs on his own, she felt like she had to do it. With a blush on her cheeks, she sang as well as she could some sort of nerdy anime song only a few would know, and while Mitsuru didn’t know a thing about it, he still clapped along and cheered as she sang, giving her that extra bit of courage. Although any part that had her voice go too high was completely wrecked in an uncontrolled pitch showing how terrible she was at controlling her own voice. Once it all ended, she shuffled around on the singer side of the room to put everything back into place… And by the time she turned back, Mitsuru had walked up to her.
The girl’s eyes opened wide as she saw his arm at her head level, hand pushing against the wall right behind her, that arm blocking the path she was about to take to step back to the karaoke booth’s couches. Mitsuru was so big from up close, or maybe she was just small, considering how often she had to look up lately… But the shadowy figure of that man, the light behind him leading her to be covered in his presence made it hard to move away. She had all the space to move around the other side where that arm wasn’t, but she was stuck there, staring up at him… Why did guys need to be so scary anyway?
“That was… So cute.” He simply said in a whispered tone, looking down at her without blinking.
“Eh…?” Keiko didn’t expect that. At most she thought he was mad at how terrible that performance was but… Being complimented had her now confused, in addition to being scared by his actions. Her mind reeling just long enough to let things move forward, his hand soon cupping her cheeks… and his lips claiming her own. Her eyes opened wide as the spell was finally broken, her mind catching up only to be sent right back as she felt the leaning man press his firm upper body against her softer one… her breasts squeezed onto by his hard pecs, pushing her jacket open by the pressure alone… The feeling of the body of a man against her, the same day where she had started to feel so womanly was doing… something to her. Something similar to what happened before, that desire for a man’s body Kei had refused the ownership of, enough to push it all on whoever this Keiko facade was, who was all too eager to indulge in it.
She couldn’t stop this, and things went even further as Mitsuru opened his mouth and her own in the process mirroring him, the kiss getting even messier as his thicker tongue pushed into her mouth to meet her own… The taste of her first kiss was… nowhere near what she thought. It wasn’t sweet, if anything it had an acrid after-taste, maybe something like a cigarette the man had smoked earlier in the day… Whatever it was, she didn’t like the taste of it being there, but it did make it so different to whatever she had tasted before… The thickness of a man’s tongue pushing into her reflexively had her suckle on it, her own smaller muscle rubbing up against it. This man wanted her, he was just a stranger she didn’t need to feel guilty about, he made her feel good about herself and acts were getting her hotter and hotter…
As they kissed, she was panting softly against his lips whenever she could breathe, the noise of their saliva mixing along their tongues echoing in her mind, getting her eyes to glaze over more and more as her mind felt like it was shutting down… Unable to control herself, her desire took over as both of her hands pressed onto the man’s abdomen, feeling his slightly muscular body through the thin, soft shirt. As her hands moved up slowly, feeling the toned surface of his body, almost reaching the pecs pressed up against her own heavy breasts, she realized how little she could fight back… After all, he was her exact type, why wouldn’t she give herself to him…? He was a pretty guy, so kind to her and of course his toned body was just what she loved, nothing too much, just the perfect amount to look nice and feel safe… She knew all of this was her type, because all of this was just like Haru.
Just like Haru…?
“Mmnf!” At the mere thought of him, her body managed to find the strength to recover, pushing against the firm body with all of her limited strength to pry the man off of her. Although Mitsuru wasn’t going to be so easy to move by force, he simply let her go and took a step back. He was quite clearly and understandably confused as his expression showed.
“I-I’m sorry I… I can’t do this…!” She frantically let out, between angry and embarrassed, her heart racing just as much from the feelings her body went through, and what thoughts brought her to stop this.
“Ah… There’s someone else?” Mitsuru asked, as he didn’t know what else could get her to let things go this far and turn right back. “Well I’m not gonna do anything you don’t want. Uh…”
He stared at her for a moment as she somehow managed to blush even harder “S-Someone else? N-no No… no! That’s not it!” She answered as her arms started to try and gesture some form of explanation her mouth couldn’t figure out. “Uh… I’m sorry, I should go!”
“It’s fine, just…” He called out to her before letting her leave, digging into his pocket to then hand her a card “Just call me sometime, if you want to have fun again, okay?” He offered, although that offer definitely seemed to come with its own kinds of undertones… After all, where else could this go if they met once more.
Still, she thought she was getting off the hook rather easily, and collected the card before bowing a few times, mumbling some apologetic and thankful words… Then spun right on the back of her heels to dash straight towards the door, bump into it, bust out… Run right back in, recover her shopping bags, resume the whole apologetic and awkward good-byes and rush right back out after once more bumping into the door frame -and apologizing to it.
The sight of the suddenly rushing girl would have been amusing to Mitsuru if he was the one to get her like this, but it clearly wasn’t him she was thinking about at that time. As her little show continued, a slightly bitter smile showed on his lips until she finally left, the door closing behind her. Soon after, he sat back down heavily on the couch, scratching his head a bit, biting his lower lip that still tasted as sweet as she did, until he finally let out an annoyed “Tch… Lucky bastard.”
