Hey everyone, sorry this is such a long time coming. Can't believe it's been a whole year since the last chapter! That went by so quickly! Terribly quickly! A lot has happened and not all of it good, as I imagine it has for many people the last 12+ months. Take care everyone. Please.

Anyway. I hope this chapter lives up to expectations!

Owen always believed himself a reasonable man. He didn't ask much of the world, he just wanted a good life, eat nice food, have good company, see the world and all the different beautiful sights in it. For the most part he got that, but life always had a way of kicking him where it hurts.

He could enjoy the splendour and the beauty that was Jurassic World and the majesty of the dinosaurs that inhabited it, he had good food of whatever he could scavenge from freezers and all for free! He could even enjoy the company of his raptors, minus the slight hiccup with whatever was going on with Blue. But once again life kicks him in his nards just for asking for nice things, and the two damned Carnotaurus in front of him were two massive kicks to his poor balls!

The Carnotaurus was a medium to large carnivorous dinosaur with a horned head, it was like someone had taken a T-Rex, shrunk it down, flattened its face, gave it tinier arms, and tried to make it look like a demon. But despite being smaller than the Rex these predators were still larger than his raptors by a fair margin. The deep brown Carnotaur on the right stepped forward once and bellowed out its mighty roar.

Immediately the raptor pack hissed and barked at the approaching Carnotaurus. As the girls focussed on one Carnotaur the other stepped closer, a deep growl emanating from its throat. The raptor split up once more, two snarling, hissing and barking at each larger predator.

Owen in the meantime kept focussed on the large beasts, only taking his eyes off them to scan their surroundings, making sure there were no more. He cursed himself for his lack of knowledge on other Dinosaur populations. Was there only two Carnotaurus, or was there more? Owen looked around once more, his eyes landing on his jacket he'd thrown down earlier and beside it was his Marlin lever-action.

The red Carnotaurus growled deeply then stepped forward, its heavy footfalls thumping against the ground making indents in the dirt. In response the raptors all barked and shrieked at it before the Brown Carnotaur moved in closer. Step by step, slowly but surely the Carnotaurus were getting closer, closing the gap between themselves and the raptors and Owen. Owen knew it was a ploy, have all the raptors concentrate on one of them before the other moved in, rather cunning for something like them, thankfully it seemed Blue knew this too. The lead raptor barked at her sisters and the four of them stood in a line, standing their ground growling at their quarry. Meanwhile while keeping his eyes on the scene before him and ensuring nothing was to their six, Owen had been shuffling closer to his rifle and jacket by the tree, his eyes glued to the Carnotaurus still he knelt onto his right knee and reached out; his right-hand brushing against the received of the rifle.

The brown Carnotaurus stepped forward, triggering Delta and Charlie, the raptors shot towards the large beast, shrieking loudly, the Carnotaurus reared back and struck out with its large jaws towards Delta though the raptor was much too fast and nimble. Charlie moved under the beast and bit down on the back of its left leg as Delta attacked its right, biting and clawing at its thigh.

The left Carnotaurus roared at the attacking raptors and moved to defend its partner allowing Blue and Echo to attack, Blue leapt up high landing on the Carnotaurus' back and bit down on the back of its neck while Echo attacked the beast's right leg. Owen grabbed his rifle and brought it to shoulder smoothly, his good eye peering down the scope of his rifle as he took aim, he hesitated not wanting to accidentally shoot one of his beloved girls.

The brown Carnotaurus tried stomping down on its attackers as they bit and clawed at its legs, when that didn't work it tried moving out of the way to snap one of them up in its jaws but still the two raptors were too agile for it.

The other Carnotaurus roared out in pain as Blue tore into the back of its neck, pulling away flesh and meat with splatters of blood. Suddenly in an act of desperation the beast threw itself to the ground and rolled across the ground. Blue shrieked out in surprise as she lost balance and hit the floor, having little time to move when the Carnotaurus brought its weight down on her and rolled over her.

“BLUE!" Owen cried out in horror. The raptor whined loudly in pain as she lay across the ground. Owen brought his rifle up as the Carnotaurus got back to its feet and fired, a resounding crack resonated from the rifle as the heavy 45 calibre projectile erupted out of the barrel and slammed into the beast's head eliciting a cry of pain a splash of blood erupting from the wound. Unrelenting Owen cocked the lever and fired again striking the beast in its neck, causing another cry from the large predator. The 45-70 rounds weren't quite powerful enough to do too much damage to the large beast as its hide was fairly thick, but unlike with the Indominus Rex, Owen could tell the bullet were at least hurting it. Four more shots followed the first two, striking the beast around in its side and one its jaw, before Owen was forced to stop and reload.

The red devil howled in pain as blood dripped from its wounds. Echo leapt up onto the beast and tore into its neck wound.

The brown Carnotaur wasn't faring much better, with Charlie now clinging onto the side of its leg, her dew claws dug deep into the dinosaurs' leg, hooking her in place as she buried bit and tore away at the flesh and muscle while Delta clawed and sliced away at its back, sending tissue and blood everywhere.

Blue growled deeply as pain coursed through her body. The large ugly beasts were tough and strong but dumb, not like her, her sisters and Alpha. But it seemed even they could have moments of sudden smartness. Her body ached and testified against even the smallest movements, but she'd felt worst when fighting the False One. In her dazed state she'd heard Alpha call out to her loudly followed shortly by the angry barks of his loud noise maker. Alpha was mad, very mad like he had been when they'd all faced the white-faced pretender. Blue's heart swelled with pride and joy with the thoughts of Alpha fighting for her, selfishly thinking his rage was in her defence alone rather than just the pack. If it were any other time she'd have taken him right there and then, further enforcing her position as Alpha's mate.

Between the heavy stomps from the large beasts, she heard smaller softer steps, moving quickly and getting louder, closer.

Alpha called her name, he sounded so close now. Forcing an eye open she saw Alpha right there before her, speaking in his strange tongue, as he knelt down to her, his strong and soft hands brushing against her neck and side.

Oh Alpha, not now! She whimpered internally; his soothing hands felt so good against her aching sides. She felt his hands move under her neck and pull as he started speaking softly but urgently to her. She grimaced, whimpering softly but understood his intentions, he wanted her up. Pushing past the pain she started moving, using her foreclaws to push herself up onto her feet. Alpha aided her best he could, but he was so much smaller than she, nowhere as strong, but he tried and her heart rejoiced from his efforts. He spoke softly once more, and softly pulled her away from the battle. She could see Alpha turnaround from the corner of her eye and use his loud noise maker to attack the ugly beasts. More cries of pain from the ugly one came from behind her and she turned around, her body still ached but not fighting alongside the pack was wrong.

The red ugly one stumbled as sister Echo tore into its neck, it tried the same trick it had done to her; dropping down to its side once more and rolled over. Echo however wasn't fooled and jumped off landing steadily on her feet before the beast finished its roll. Echo barked at Blue to join in on her attack while the red one was on the ground.

Despite the throbbing pain Blue rushed towards the downed beast, Alpha called out to her but she couldn't listen, not now, not when they had this chance. Echo was already biting and clawing at the Red one's side as it tried to stand back up. Blue leapt up onto the beasts face, her dew claw slashing it across the eye and she climbed onto the back of its neck. Echo had torn a fair amount of meat from the neck and blood was beginning to flow from it freely.

Suddenly, the Brown ugly one stormed closer, roaring out in rage, Blue leapt off from the Red and landed on the floor. Looking at the Brown the beast had received its own scars and cuts from Delta and Charlie, both of whom were now on the ground, snouts and claws covered in blood.

Echo kept her distance as the two large ugly beasts regrouped.

The Red and Brown roared at one another, then surprisingly they turned around and retreated to where they had come from, deciding their easy meal wasn't so easy and not worth the scars they now bore.

Echo moved in to attack, but Blue barked at her to stop. That was enough. No need to go any further.

But meat! Echo argued.

No! Too strong. They were safe now, Alpha was safe.

Alpha barked in that strange way he did when he was happy. Blue and her sisters turned to look at him, he ran to them, arms wide. Immediately they rushed to him, Blue ensuring she got there first and pressed her head against him. Time for comfort, time for safety. Pack is together and pack is fine.

Alpha rubbed them all, speaking loudly while having his teeth bared, that meant he was happy, he spoke words of soothing and comfort but also great praise. Before he focussed on her. His hands gently and slowly gliding across her hide, he spoke low, soft. Likely making sure she was alright.

She chirped softly in response, she was fine, hurt, achy but fine. She reared back her head and dragged her tongue across Alpha's face, she tasted his salty wet skin, soft, tasty, invigorating. His scent was strong, strong of Alpha, worry, fear, but strong. His scent and his taste made Blue hungry, oh so hungry, a hunger that could only be sated by Alpha. She wanted him, now! She wanted him to knock her to the floor, hike up her tail and take her! Mate her right there on the ground, she didn't care if the others were there, they could watch and be jealous as she received Alpha's seed!

Charlie barked at her to calm down. They could smell her arousal!

Blue barked back. Only after realising Alpha had stopped touching her. Looking to him she saw him looking between herself and Charlie, a strange look on his face. Alpha's kind were very expressive with their heads, not like her kind, different from her kind. Alpha was so different from her, but she didn't care, she loved him. Blue licked him once more to show her affection.

Alpha rubbed his face again, putting her scent over himself once more, making Blue growl happily. He looked at her, his eyes meeting hers. Her younger self used to love staring into Alpha's eyes, they were so beautiful. Alpha was beautiful despite his strange looks.

Stop it! Barked Echo. They could smell her arousal growing once more.

Blue huffed at Echo then focussed on Alpha, he picked up his other skin and put it back on, he stepped up to Blue his hands wandering over her body once more, he knelt down and felt her underbelly. Blue breathing grew deeper as Alpha roaming touch caressed over her, if he kept touching her she'd pin him under her and show him how much she wanted him. So close, so close!

Alpha pulled away suddenly, looking at her with wide eyes. Was something wrong?

Alpha stepped back and made motions for them to follow and obediently they did. Blue made sure they did.

Owen lead them back to his bike, adrenaline was still coursing through his veins as it was likely theirs too. They needed to get rid of that energy and Owen needed to calm down. They also needed food, so maybe hunting would be the next best idea. But then Blue was hurt and he could see it in the way she moved, she wasn't limping thankfully but she was moving slower. Maybe rest was the best idea.

'Stop second guessing yourself Owen.' He mentally chastised himself. He knew what he had to do. A member of the pack was hurt it was time to return home. Mounting his bike he spun it around towards the raptor paddock, revved the engine and kicked the starter pedal.

“Come on girls!" he called to them before riding off, though he did so at a slower than usual, ensuring Blue could keep pace with him. To his relief there she was as always by his side. He glanced at her then focussed on the path ahead.

He'd been worried the Carnotaurs' attack had broken a bone or several. His heart felt like it was going to explode when the Carnotaur slam down on her, he thought that was the end of her and a fear and rage had consumed him, old Seals instincts kicked in; man down provide covering fire and he'd emptied his rifle into the beast. But no she was fine, sore most definitely, but fine. He'd judged her so after he'd examined her, his hand running over her body to check for anything broken.

But then he'd seen it. When he was checking her stomach and ribs, he'd seen it! Her cloaca. It was swollen, puffy and open a small drop of something came from her slit and dripped onto the floor. There was no mistaking what was going on there; it wasn't a wound or an infection, Blue had been aroused, very much so in fact.

Betraying his own thoughts and feelings he felt something stir lower in his body.

'God damn it. REALLY Owen? Really!?' He mentally cursed him, what he'd done was wrong in so many ways and god damn it he would not get erect from seeing a raptor's … he killed that thought before he finished it.

'Damn it Owen, calm down, calm down.' He shook his head, that was the adrenaline talking. He was too wired right now and needed to rest. He dared a look at Blue, the raptor seemed to be concentrating on where they were going, but now and then he swore she focussed on him.

The more he seemed to think on the situation, the more he regretted doing so. He hadn't been awake too long and already he could do with a nap.

Once they returned to the paddock, Owen dismounted his bike and leant it against the paddock's outer wall. From there he didn't so much as usher the girls inside it as he did simply walk inside and the girls followed him.

Owen sat down by a tree and leaned against it. He lay his rifle across his lap and watched as the girls looked around their den. Owen briefly worried that something had snuck inside the paddock and was now watching them, but his fears quickly went away as Charlie nipped at Echo and ran off, the latter barking and giving chase, Delta watched on then ran after them leaving Blue with Owen.

“How'd I know you'd stay?" he asked rhetorically. Blue chittered before moving closer, her movements still slowed by pain, she lay down closely to him and placed her head on his lap. Owen having quickly moved his rifle from under her jaw.

“You did good Blue." He spoke softly and patted her head gently. The beta raptor closed her eyes and rested. Owen concentrated on her steady breathing and the rhythmic rise and fall of her body that coupled with the adrenaline fading from him ushered Owen into a slumber.

Owen yawned as he awoke, his eyes slowly adjusting to the bright sun baring down on him. He yawned then sat up and stretched. Looking around he found he'd fallen asleep on top of the bed in their hotel room.

'Wait.' He thought as something didn't seem right. He didn't fall asleep in a bed, in a hotel room. He'd been in the raptor paddock.

“Ah, awake at last," came a woman's voice, a now sort of familiar voice. Owen turned to look at a woman he'd never met, yet he knew her, that predatory look in her eye, that aura that exuded power. The woman was leaning against the far wall her strong arms crossed over her chest, she wore her board shorts, and a simple grey t-shirt. “You okay?" she asked with a grin.

Owen looked the woman over, and immediately recalled the last dream that had this woman in.

“Who are you?" he dared to ask.

“Awww you don't recognise me?" she chuckled and moved from the wall and started stalking around the bed towards him. He saw she had her hair tied back into a ponytail, “after everything we've been through together and you can't tell who I am." Despite her words she didn't seem concerned, actually she looked rather amused.

“Uhm, sorry?" he apologised making sure to keep the woman in his sights. He turned so his feet dangled down over the side of the bed.

“In a way we've known each other for so long," she replied as came to a stop in front of him, that calm lethal grin not leaving her face, she reached up and behind her head and undid the bobble in her hair, her ponytail coming undone, she shook her head as her hair settled around her face. Her hair was on the lighter shade of dark and had a long blue stripe running along the right side. She lowered herself down and settled onto his lap then wrapped her arms around the back of his head with her elbows resting on his shoulders, her face so close to his own her nose barely an inch from his, “and yet until last night it seems we've only just really met, seeing a different side to the other." She growled deeply, that sound so familiar and so inhuman.

“Blue?" he spoke quietly, his tone barely above a whisper.

“We have a winner." She grinned at him, revealing a large set of inhuman teeth before pressing her lips to his, her tongue forced its way into his mouth, dominating his own with its ferocity, the kiss as a whole was hot, exciting, this human dream Blue had all the aggressiveness of her real-life raptor counterpart. Finally after what seemed like several minutes did she finally pull back, her large tongue slipping out of his mouth and back into hers. She grinned at him with her large teeth and a feral look in her eye. “Always knew you liked strong women Owen!" she growled in a sly manner. “So really this should make so much sense. Who is stronger than me, hmm?" Owen opened his mouth to reply but she continued before he had the chance. “Oh sure, there's the Rex, but she's old Owen, and a little too big, even for you, besides I don't think she's overly fond of anyone but herself." Blue added.

Owen panted softly. “But it shouldn't happen, it should be impossible!" He finally stammered out, his voice rising louder as he spoke.

“On whose authority?" Blue argued, “Doctor Grant? Doctor Malcolm? Anyone who survived Jurassic Park?" she snorted sardonically, “they didn't have the bond we do, they weren't with me everyday of my life like you were! You were my EVERYTHING! My parent, my guardian, my caretaker, the one fed me, bathed me, looked after me like I was your own, for the first few months of my life you were my GOD! Shouldn't it make sense that as I got older, stronger, my guardian and parent would become my ally?" She paused and licked her lips her voice growing quieter, huskier. “My friend? My lover?"

“That makes absolutely no sense!" Owen argued back. Blue pulled away from him and stood up, watching him carefully. “There's no case of other animals so different from each other getting together, it just doesn't work that way in nature, a lion doesn't sleep with a zebra!"

“There's nothing natural in Jurassic World Owen, you know that." Blue replied coldly, her voice barely above a whisper, “none of the dinosaurs are natural, if it was you'd have fucked a chicken with teeth." Owen grimaced at her words. “So who says what goes on in their minds."

“What's going through your mind?" he dared to ask.

“I don't know Owen, this is a dream remember, I'm just your subconscious trying to make sense of a night of debauchery with a full-grown raptor you've known since she was born." Blue replied and stretched while she still sat in his lap, “perhaps you're just going crazy, or maybe you're actually dead, maybe the Indominus killed you and you're in some sort of Hell? Sounds crazy sure, but does it sound any crazier than what you think is the reason behind all this?"

“But it can't be," Owen muttered softly as his gaze lowered to the floor, “your, uh her brain isn't wired up that way."

“Isn't it?" the dream Blue argued then sat down beside him, “think about all our times together, all the good times we've had and you tell me, you tell yourself, that Blue, the real Blue doesn't love you, really truly love you."

Owen looked at the dream Blue, this false human Blue. He wondered if she'd actually look like that if she were human. He seemed to think so if that's the body and voice he gave her.

“Maybe I'm afraid of being right." He replied softly. “Because I don't want to break her heart."

“Who says you will?" she replied, “you certainly felt something for her in return, otherwise we wouldn't be talking about it."

Owen gave a pause, he couldn't love Blue in that way could he? No. He couldn't. And Blue couldn't love him that way, could she?

Before he could utter another word, something lightly bumped his head, with a soft grimace, he turned to look at what'd happened getting a face full of grey.

Owen awoke truly to Blue nudging his head with the tip of her snout.

“Ow! Okay, okay I'm awake Blue, I'm awake!" he cried out, and the raptor stopped immediately, pulling her head away just enough to look at him. Owen found himself looking back at her, staring straight into her eyes. Blue started growling softly. “Do you love me Blue?" he asked, hoping and begging for an answer.

The only response he got was a tilt of her head then a large tongue slathering over his face.

“UGH! BLUE!" he shouted while removing raptor drool from his face. “Ask a stupid question." He muttered, but what if that were her answer? 'Stop it Owen, you're over thinking nothing.' He told himself. Owen focussed on the raptor once more.

“Alright Blue, get up, get up." He said with a commanding tone.

Blue huffed but stood up and stepped away giving him space to get up.

“Thanks Blue." He muttered mostly to himself then looked up to the sky, the sun was still shining, though was higher in the sky now, he must've napped for three or so hours, which was understandable he guessed after dealing with those Carnotaurs. Immediately his gaze snapped back to Blue as he remembered she'd been injured, the raptor was still watching him.

“You feeling okay Blue?" he asked then put his hand to his face, “right as if you could answer me." He groaned as his own stupidity, _'this place is making me go insane.' _“Alright, come on Blue. Come on!" he urged her to follow him as he started moving away. Blue watched him following him with her head before walking after him. Simply by watching her Owen could tell she wasn't quite healed, but he could see some minor improvement. Hopefully all there was wrong with her was some bruising, something like that would heal over time without much worry.

Maybe it would be a good time to hunt now Owen thought while looking around for the other girls, calling out for them the other three raptors stepped out from the foliage of their den. He ushered them to follow him as he made his way outside the paddock, pausing only briefly to look around making sure he couldn't see or hear anything around them.

“Come on girls, we're going hunting!" he called to them as he mounted his bike. The girls barked in return. Did they just understand him? He pondered briefly before revving up his bike, the girls got into position to follow him. Owen rode off on his bike ensuring he go at just the right speed for Blue to keep pace by his side, she had to be by him, regardless of what was going on between them, regardless of his dream, Blue was the key to his survival.

Alpha seemed to be in a better mood after his slumber, this was good. Blue had noticed how uneasy he'd been sleeping at first and decided to release more of her pheromones, being so close to her as she exuded it seemed to have relaxed Alpha enough to sleep properly. Knowing she'd done her duty as a good mate and strong Beta/Co-Alpha made her happy. When he awoke he'd spoken in his strange tongue, she couldn't understand him but he seemed sad, confused maybe? She'd licked him to show her affection hoping it would make him happy. It seems like it had done so since now they were going hunting, he'd spoken one of the few words she and the others understood, mostly because of whenever he spoke it they went hunting.

Alpha led them away from their den and further out of their territory. While excited to hunt, she was thankful at the pace they were going, she knew the beast Alpha rode upon could go faster than what it was, Alpha must have been commanding it to go slower for her and ensuring she stayed by his side.

Blue didn't know how long they ran for but eventually she and her sisters caught the scent of something nearby, it didn't smell like Old-One, nor the Ugly-Ones. She and her sisters called out to Alpha telling him they found prey, and started moving in its direction, with Alpha setting the pace.

As they neared they started slowing, Alpha too slowed down his beast to their speed before they came to a halt. Blue and her sisters breathed deeply, taking in the scent of their soon-to-be prey.

Alpha dismounted his beast, taking his noise maker into his hands and moved forward slowly and quietly. So much like a hunter despite never actually hunting with them, she and her sisters kept a tight formation around Alpha, keeping him protected from any possible dangers, they moved through the trees and the dirt, tightening their circle around Alpha for pack safety as he lowered his stance, crouching down to make himself look smaller. Smart Alpha! Keep hidden! Strike when time was right. Blue huffed with pride then focussed ahead once more.

Eventually the pack came out from the trees and dirt and came upon a valley, deep below there was a large lake, though much smaller than where big water-dweller swam. All around the lake were prey. Big prey, small prey and far too big prey! Far too big prey made Old-One look small, though they were mostly just neck. Blue could feel herself salivate as she looked over the long-necked prey, one of them could keep pack fed for many light and dark times! But she knew it would take many, many more of them to kill one, perhaps if she ever had offspring, strong and smart offspring. Her eyes drifted to Alpha. Yes. They would be smart and strong indeed.

Charlie barked at her to focus on prey!

Blue barked back to mind her tongue!

Alpha hushed them like a good Alpha should, loud pack made prey wise to them. Quiet pack was successful in the hunt.

Blue focussed back on the valley of prey. What to hunt?

Delta barked quietly. The three horns?

Blue looked to them, there was potential, she could see some young ones, but the adults were big and strong. They could take one down if they worked together, but then she didn't know what would happen if others came to their target's defence.

Echo barked. Thin ones?

The thin ones were what they hunted before, they almost looked like their kind, ran on two strong legs, long arms, , teeth and claws. But Blue and her sisters were more built to hunt rather than thin-ones, who were, as their given name suggested; thin.

There was potential in hunting thin ones. They weren't a bad meal and their sizes gave them enough meat to eat. Maybe Alpha would want some this time?

The only problem was getting to the prey, there was no place for them to hide this time, so they'd have to move carefully but quickly.

Then Charlie barked up again. New prey! Different!

The other looked to where she was looking. Oh, yes. Bigger prey. Bigger and larger than thin ones. Smaller than three horns. They had a blunt curved horn on the back of their heads and were eating peacefully along with other prey.

Blue barked back in confirmation. Yes, hunt that prey.

Owen swore he'd been listening to some sort of raptor conversation, being among it was both confusing and yet inspiring, the girls had barked to one another quietly and their heads would turn to look in one place of another, right now they were staring down at a group, a herd he guessed, of …what were they called again? Duckisaurus? Duck-zillas? Quackasaurus? No it was uh, Pogo, no. Para. Wait, yeah. Parasaurolophus! He remembered now because it had such a stupid weird name!

Duckisaurus was much better in his humble opinion and perfectly fit what they were, dinosaur ducks.

Regardless. The pack had them in their sights, Owen looked down to the rifle in his hand, he'd better keep himself prepared if he had to use it. There were so many dinosaurs out here, living free. It was beautiful to see them all together, but he knew it would be dangerous for his girls to be so vastly outnumbered.

Owen glanced around only to realise the pack was already gone, he hadn't even noticed. That was something that still scared him about them, how such vicious predators could move so quietly and so fast.

Owen repositioned himself into a crouched firing stance, his rifle pressing into his shoulder, he cocked the hammer back readying it to fire and his trigger finger came to rest near the trigger guard. Owen watched the Duck-a-saurus through the short-range scope, he could see Blue and the raptors move closer into the valley, their bodies keeping low to the ground as to make it harder to detect them. It was likely the best they could do without any cover.

Owen cautiously scanned the area around him keeping his breathing quiet even to his own ears as he forced himself to listen to the woodland behind him. He wanted to think he was safe for the moment while he was alone. He found it funny and maybe a little worrying that he felt safest when surrounded by powerful and intelligent predators. Returning to his previous task; he looked back down the scope of his rifle and saw the girls had made progress towards their prey while also having spread out to cover more ground. Owen felt a lump catch in his throat, the Parasaurs hadn't spotted the raptors just yet, but it was only a matter of time. This hunt was much different from the last, here there was no long grass nor trees to cover their approach and their prey was bigger and heftier with no signs of weakness nor injury.

One of the smaller ones, a little baby was whining up to an adult before huffing and stormed off towards the rest of their herd, the adult bellowed towards the child and stomped after it, inadvertently turning its back straight to the pack. Then like a switch had been flipped the raptors went on the attack, moving from a low crawl to sprinting at full speed in a single flawless movement which left Owen in awe, the girls were only feet away from the herd when they were spotted. One of the Parasaurolophus bellowed out a cry of warning to the others before they turned and sprinted away from the danger.

The small child was too slow to outrun the grown raptors and was taken down when Delta leapt on its back and starting biting and clawing away at it. Its cries before its death were agonising but brief. Delta wasn't a cruel girl and had killed it quickly, before sprinting off again to join her sisters in chasing down another preferably larger target.

The Parasaurs, Owen noticed, were running towards the large herbivores, likely hoping one of them would come to their defence. Charlie it seemed took a chance on the closest of the Parasaurs and dived at it, she fell short of its body but bit down hard on its tail causing the Parasaurolophus to cry out in distress. As she hit the ground Charlie kept her jaws tightly clamped onto the tail, Charlir's fet hit the ground and immediately she was running again, though slower and tugging at the tail in an effort to slow it down while the beast tried shaking the raptor off its tail. Alas it was no use, Charlie's added weight had indeed slowed it down just enough for the other raptors to leap onto it with ease and start biting and clawing into its hide. The dinosaur went down and the girls started to tear into it heartily, eating their fill and then some. Delta returned to the baby she had killed and picked it up by the back of its neck as the other girls tore off pieces from their kill to eat for later.

As the pack took down the adult, Owen had moved from his position, his paranoia getting the best of him and jogged towards the pack. The other herbivores were watching them now, but made no moves to attack knowing that the predators had a kill and their hunger would be sated.

Echo noticed Owen's approach first and garbled a greeting as her mouth was full of meat, Blue and the others snapped their gaze to Owen, Blue was the first to move closer, her own mouth full of meat which she quickly dropped to the ground a few feet from him and nuzzled her head against his chest, covering it with the blood of their kill.

“Oh great, this shirt will need washing." Owen complained quietly but stroked Blue's head all the same in greeting. Soon enough he was surrounded by four predators, blood dripping from their claws and snouts and in that moment Owen felt a wave of relief and comfort flow through his body. He was safe. “Come here girls," Owen smiled softly to them and opened out his arms and one by one the rest of the pack found their spot in snuggling up to their Alpha.

The return home was uneventful, something which Owen was happy about, the raptors were now lazily placing their prizes in their own place away from the others while Owen made his way to the control area of the raptor paddock. He'd not been in here for a while, not having felt the need to since keeping the large paddock door open for the girls. He reminded himself during his bike ride back to the paddock that his rifle was running low on ammunition, sure he wasn't in immediate trouble but he'd rather resupply now and have excess than run dry at the wrong moment.

Unfortunately, all the weapons and munitions had been taken from the paddock's small armoury back when they'd all gone hunting for the Indominus Rex. The only likely place to have any remaining weapons would be other small security sections in paddocks or the primary security centre in Jurassic World. The problem with the latter choice was it was quite a ride away that Owen really didn't want to make, that on top of the added threat of the T-Rex as the security centre was in the Rex's territory. Carnotaurus; the girls could take on sure, an Allosaurus; maybe, if it were alone and they had the jump on it. But not the Rex. They couldn't take on the Rex, not without casualties and that was unacceptable to Owen.

'Plan for another day Owen. You're doing okay for now.' He thought, exhaling sharply to relieve himself of frustration. Owen then made his way out of the security hub and back outside where he found Blue, just stood there, waiting for him. Owen paused as he stared at Blue, his eyes connecting with hers. His dream played back in his mind. He trying to make sense of the situation and a human Blue pushing forward ideas and theories he didn't want to consider. 'But what if they're true?' He wondered and stepped forward to Blue slowly, raising up his arm and showing Blue the palm of his hand.

“Do you love me Blue?" he asked he accursed question.

Blue stepped forward and pressed her snout to his hand, he felt his warm breath over his fingers as he rubbed her snout. Blue's eyes fluttered closed and a soft happy chittering escaped her throat. She stepped closer to Owen, letting his hand drift over her head, her neck and side till her nose came to rest by his neck where she inhaled his scent deeply.

“Do you?" he asked again, quieter this time. Obviously the raptor gave no audible reply but slathered Owen's face with her tongue. “BLUE!" Owen complained aloud but couldn't stop the smile on his face.

After pulling himself away from the raptor, Owen returned to his bike to retrieve his dinner, the left-over spaghetti from the night before. Using the microwave in the paddock's control room Owen heated his lunch before settling down to eat outside near the raptor den's open gates. Owen opened a bottle of coke that he'd found in the fridge and took a small sip.

He leant back against the paddock gate and simply listened. Everything was surprisingly calm, there was a gentle breeze blowing across the trees just strong enough to make the leaves and smaller branches sway and the cooling effect was welcome against the hot summer sun. Owen removed his sleeveless jacket and undid a few buttons on his shirt. Owen lazily turned his gaze to where Blue lay beside him, her head up and looking around the area before focussing on him once she realised he was looking at her. She barked twice softly.

“Hey girl." Owen replied softly before continuing his lunch. He heard Blue shifting then looked up seeing Blue had moved closer, her eyes flicking from him to his lunch. “You won't like it girl." He chuckled but rotated his fork in the pan making sure to get enough spaghetti and sauce before lifting it up towards the curious raptor.

Blue focuses on the food, sniffing it with more intensity as it draws closer, she leans her head closer her nose almost pressing against the pasta and inhales the smell. Blue pulls away a little, her head tilting in what could be perceived as confusion, then opens her mouth and closes it gently around the food, all the time aware of the proximity of her jaws to Owen's hand. Owen pulls the fork back, sliding and grating between the raptor's teeth, leaving the food in her mouth.

Owen watches with fascination as Blue tastes the deposited food, her mouth opening and closing as she tries to bite down and tear. Suddenly her jaws slam shut, the raptor closes her eyes and shakes her head then effectively spits the food onto the floor. Blue starts licking her snout with what could only be described as a look of distaste on her face.

Owen just laughed at her response. “I said you wouldn't like it." The raptor huffs and barks at Owen's pan, before trotting off inside the pen. Owen looks to his fork then wipes it clean on his pants leg before putting it back into his pan.

Life was strange now. Very strange but not … bad? She didn't know. Things were strange. It was strange to have so much freedom now. She knew of course it was because of the big white meanie. She wasn't right. She wanted Alpha and Alpha-kind dead. Eaten or not, just dead. She wanted them to help her. But she was wrong. Alpha was Alpha and that was that. Or so says Be….uh … Alpha-Eldest. Alpha called her “Blue". But they couldn't speak in Alpha's tongue. Too hard. Alpha-Eldest-“Blue" had tried once when they were alone. Alpha gave them all strange names. She was Charlie. Sisters called her Youngest-Sister or Little-Sister. Which made no sense as they were all about as big as one another. But she supposed it was an older-sister thing.

Anyway. Life was strange now. But it wasn't bad. With no other Alpha's kind, Alpha had given them more freedom, they could come and go as they please, but Alpha-Eldest-Blue, or just Blue she supposed in her thoughts, told them not to stray far or Alpha and she would be mad. Even though she told them to stay Blue had gone out the other dark-time and mated with Alpha! The shock she felt when she and her sisters had smelt her the light-time afterwards.

Blue had loudly announced light-times before how she would seduce Alpha. Show off her female wiles to him. How strong she was, how smart she was, how her thighs were soft enough yet hard enough. Entice him with how many eggs she would likely lay. She was a flirt and a seductress, poor Alpha. He never had a chance, especially with Blue releasing her pheromones in such a strong volume. It was a wonder Alpha hadn't collapsed, the rest of them had to put up with the smell wafting through the air as Blue tried to entice Alpha to mate. Again, poor Alpha. Though that had been Blue's ambition for a while, to have Alpha as her mate, and well Charlie supposed she was happy for her Beta-turned-Alpha eldest sister.

Charlie looked up from her place in their nest, having settled in the shade with her meat not too far away from her, to see Blue near Alpha, standing over him and wrap her mouth around something. Alpha food maybe? Blue tasted it for a few moments before spitting it to the floor. Alpha barked in that strange way he does when happy before Blue made her way back into the den and ran straight to their water.

Bad? Charlie barked.

Too strange! Weird! Strange! Too strong! Blue barked back.

Too strong? Strange? Alpha's kind were weird.

Oh well. Alpha was a good Alpha, and that's all that mattered to Charlie.
