So it’s that place eh…whoa, it does look quite big! And that means it must have lots of stuff he could loot. Or at least that’s what Sai thought when he saw the mansion for the first time. Even if he saw mostly just the massive wall that surrounded it.

So much so that he got TOO famous for his own good, so he always has to be in the run since by now the law knows who he is and he is a wanted man in many states. What he could say, he was too good at what he does. Truth be told, he didn’t do it for the money…he never did. It was more about the thrill! He never knew what he would find once inside his target and that’s even after days of planning and studying everything he could, like the routine of the ones that live in the house he took an interest in.

While Sai preferred to only steal from rich guys since in his humble opinion, they deserve It that doesn’t mean he likes to punish them or anyone in case he happened to meet someone…even if the place was supposed to be empty based on his investigations. It was so annoying when that happens! He wasn’t a violent horse though, so he would always overpower those people to dominate them so he could steal the stuff in peace knowing that it was a matter of time before his “victims” would return to free those now witnesses of his crimes. Nothing he could do about it since he was a thief, not a killer. Even if he also carries some knives with him all the time just in case he needs to defend himself, he even trained to be good at throwing them!

In this town he was in he heard stories about a mansion that nobody should even get close to. Why? Well, supposedly it was a haunted place. No, Sai was not one to believe in nonsense like that. I mean, ghosts? Demons? Haha, come on. In all of the years of his work he never once found a ghost. And he already got his share of abandoned mansions under his belt. So to him, this would be just another one to the list.

Wait…where’s the entrance? He just walked all around it but there was no gate, no door, no..nothing! That can’t be…? The folks in the bar told him nobody knew who built that place or even how old it is. Supposedly it was always there as far as anyone remembers. That was weird, fine, but…no entrance? Well, that isn’t enough to stop him! If anything, it just means there should be more loot inside than he expected since no door should be enough to stop most thieves from wanting to break in! Sure, it would be a pain in the ass to carry the loot later but he would worry about that after seeing what he could put his agile hands on first.

He took a few steps backward before he start running so he could jump and “run” on the wall even if he could only do it for a few steps. Sai was forced to learn tricks like this to make sure he would never be trapped anywhere or his career would be over. Sure, it wasn’t with just any wall he could do that and depended on a lot of stuff like if it rained or not, but this one was just good enough for him to be able to reach with his hands as he grabbed the edge and pulled himself up. The equine was more slender than strong but he did have the right muscles on his body, and he made sure to keep himself in shape. Never know when you need to make a run for it after all!

Sitting on the edge for a bit, he admired the exterior of the mansion and its garden. Huh…it looked quite big and luxurious yes…seems it had at least three floors. All the windows were open though there was no light coming from any of them. Still, it didn’t really feel like an abandoned place as the horse had already broken in lots of places so he had a good feeling about them and how they should…feel.

Sai scratched his head confused before he remembered that he was still sitting on the wall and if anybody saw him now…yeah, the last thing he wanted is to be reported to the police before he even stole anything! That would be so dumb and annoying! Well, he was here so he can just take a quick look. If there was anyone inside maybe they were squatters or something? Wouldn’t be the first time he met those. And he knew how to deal with them. So feeling confident in himself and how this night was going to go for him, the thief jumped inside the garden.

The second his feet touched the ground, he felt shivers running through his entire body. Holy shit! He never felt like this before…not even in the few times he had to run from the cops once he screwed up and had to make a run for it! At that time the neighbor of the house he was just finishing cleaning up called the cops on him. This was different though. It was like his entire body was telling him this place was…dangerous. And he should leave. Like right now.

Leave this nonsense to those morons in the town that believe this place was cursed or haunted or whatever. He had a job to do and he was going to do it! If this mansion was as loaded as he hoped it would be, maybe he would finally be able to retire depending of course on what he would find inside.

That’s the sort of thing the brave thief was telling himself to justify why he should ignore all of his instincts and move forward instead of turning back to get up on that wall again. Funny, usually he would always make sure to listen to his instincts but this time he felt he needed to ignore them. It’s like he somehow knew that no matter the risks, whatever he would find inside that mansion would be worth them and much more.

Sai took a deep breath as he sneaked his way inside, taking advantage of one of the open windows. He did see a big blue door that certainly must be the front door of that place but no way he would get anywhere near that! The last thing he wanted is to make noise and make his presence known to…whenever is living there. Assuming there is someone. He hoped he was wrong about that, but this feeling…

Damnit. Well, he already knew that there must be somebody living here to have lit all those candles like that. But he didn’t see or heard anyone until now. So they were upstairs? Slowly he started to get up the stairs, wondering when he started to take such risks. Maybe it’s because it’s been a long time since he got inside a place like this with so much promising loot to steal! Even if he still needed to ignore the part of him that begged him to leave because that weird feeling was still there.

It was quite muffled but he was sure of what he heard. If he had any doubts about anyone living here, yeah there’s no more room for that now. The thief examined the door, it was closed but he wasn’t sure if it was locked. Would be too risky to try to open it anyway, even if it wasn’t locked. Sai pressed one of his ears against the door wanting to hear more to know at least how many would be inside this room and soon he found out that whenever that voice belonged to, he wasn’t the only one in that room.

“Besides, it seems that tonight will be more interesting than I thought. You see my dear mare, tonight…we have an intruder. Or perhaps, I should say, a visitor to my home.” Hearing those words made him gasp and he had enough presence of mind to cover his mouth with his hand, hoping that nobody heard it while he tried to think how in the heck he was caught. There was nobody else that he saw…and he was experienced to recognize cameras hiding no matter where! So how…?

“Ah…a…an intruder?! Sai was about to do just that. But just as he was leaning against the door since he was eavesdropping, he was caught by surprise when the door that was right there…just wasn’t there anymore. “Master Adramelech…y-you just let him in? Right now?!”

Now that he was inside that room, the equine had his curiosity sated and from the quick look he took around, oh…if only he was here by himself! Soon his attention was directed toward where those voices come from and he was in shock.

Right there on the bed, which was quite big and fancy as expected of a mansion like this, were two horses. And Sai isn’t sure what was most shocking to him there, what those two look like or what they were doing.

This is one of the reasons why he always tried to avoid getting inside places if he believed there would be someone in there at that time. But…this wasn’t all.

“Master Adramelech! Sai wasn’t sure why but he felt that if he was alone with that red horse now things would not look good for him…heck, maybe they already weren’t! He needed to do something! This was so crazy…were those guys really demons? If not, then they must be insane! Sai knew what he needed to do, he needed to distract them so he could make a run for it.

That’s why he took advantage of the moment when that stronger horse was introducing the other to reach for his knives and he throw two of them at him, already getting ready to dash the door but what he saw froze him in place.

His two knives were close to their target when they just burst into flames making Sai gasp in surprise. “As for me, you’re in the presence of Adramelech. I have too many titles to bother to mention, but one of them is a sun god. I’m sure you can understand why I’m mentioning that one.”

There was no room for doubt, those two were genuine demons! And that made them both more dangerous than any other guy he ever met by chance when invading someone’s home! “No way...! I never heard of something like that!!” Sai turned around, getting angry since it was just not fair! How was a thief supposed to invade and escape a crazy place like that? Though, to be fair, if he knew this place had demons then no way he would even try. Not that he would have believed the locals if they mentioned that explicitly but they did tell him this place was haunted. Maybe…?

Sai gasped as the demon continued to talk and got quite close to him, making the horse back away until he felt the wall behind him. The wall where there was a door a single minute ago. “That’s just how it is. By now, I believe the locals here know this isn’t a normal place since as time goes by, few intruders dared to try their luck. Maybe they think this is a haunted place and fufu, technically they’re right….if you consider that demons can haunt something. But oh, we are just as much real as you. Though only those with the talent…or as some would call it, the gift can see and interact with us.”

“T-talent…?” Sai never heard about something like that. The gift or talent or whatever that allows a mortal like him to interact with a demon? That sounded like something coming from a game. “Give him a chance?! Master, I thought you were saving his execution for later! He should be punished for daring to interrupt us! It’s not every day that you return from your duties to relax at home, this isn’t fair!” Orobas complained and Sai didn’t like the strange way the eyes of the red horse looked at him. He didn’t want to think of what would happen to him if Adramelech wasn’t here in the room. Even if he didn’t understand half of what the demon said since he never heard such terms before…Devil Summoner? A….a Persona-user? All he knew ever since he was a kid was to steal things and so that’s what he just decided to do for a living. He never knew he had that “talent” so not like he had a reason to even consider doing something else, going on a different path in his life.

“Oh? And when did I say he won’t be punished?” Adramelech asked with a grin and Sai felt shivers run through his spine, now starting to wonder if his life was in danger after all. He tried to move, to run-fuck the door didn’t even exist anymore! Where would he even run to? But anything was better than just staying here this close to this demon!

“L-let me go! This is not fair, I didn’t even steal anything! How I was supposed to know this place had demons living in it?!” He protested and tried to pull that hand from his shoulder using his two hands but no matter how hard he tries, he was just unable to move that brown arm anywhere.
