A Cookout Wolf-Out
For DariusWhitefur
By Draconicon
Tech and times might have changed, but there were some traditions that just refused to die. Like the ancient cavemen that had found fire and then used it for everything, the man of the future must, like all of his ancestors before him, eventually make his way to the spacious grasses of the clan and strike fire once more, cooking the meat for friend and kin.
In other words, a cookout, despite the hovercars and the pulsing beats of the floating neon billboards that roamed through the city.
Darius walked along the hard-light surface as he made his way from the taxi to Xaie’s drifting property. One of the earlier models of floating homes, it wasn’t quite as directable as some of the later models, the modern ones that could zip around at the flick of a switch. This one had a booster on the bottom that sometimes needed a little bit of supplementary help from the repair drones that were constantly being replaced for the house, and it tended to drift on the wind without something to weigh it down. The ‘anchor’ didn’t always work, either, but it seemed to be in proper repair today. At least, it wasn’t moving as the projectors in Darius’s shoes created a path toward it.
Xaie wasn’t in the yard, though that wasn’t particularly surprising. The host of the party was something of a nervous man, and it was something of a surprise that he had decided to host the cookout rather than having Paul or Tony do it, the way that they usually did. Then again, he supposed that Xaie wanted to be more active, more present with the rest of the group than he had been before now.
Bloom, bloom, bloom. Each step carried him across the deep chasm that led down to the old part of the planet, all the way down to where the sun didn’t shine anymore and where the remnants of earth and soil might still be found. He looked down around the little bubbles of hard-light that his shoes created, then shivered as he imagined falling. Sure, his shoes were supporting him, and he’d charged the power source for the barrier creation, but one never quite lost their fear of heights.
“Hey, Darius!”
He looked up. That’d be Tony, the first person at any of these gatherings even when he wasn’t the host. Italian, thick-shouldered and with a face that showed the freckles that he claimed came from his Irish mother, Tony was one of those guys that never let anyone forget who the life of the party was. Thus, he was a rather welcome guest to parties where people could be a little shy and needed someone else to take the spotlight for a while.
Darius certainly preferred that. Despite standing at six-foot-two and having all the right looks for someone that was used to socializing in the higher classes – the proper straight-backed stance, the groomed goatee, the muscles and the polite smile – he preferred to let others get the attention. Besides, he was in his own head a lot these days, which was why he hadn’t noticed Tony in the first place.
He waved at the wide-shouldered man, his hard-light path fading as he stepped over the fence that marked the boundaries of Xaei’s property. The slight delay that it caused the floating house in its path across the sky was almost too small to notice, and they were underway again.
For all the futuristic touches that the rest of the city had, Xaei’s house had been restored back to the old style with a great deal of effort. Darius couldn’t tell what was solid holograms and what was actually real, though the ramshackle grill for the food had to be a hologram. All that old iron had been given to the government long ago for the space race, and he wasn’t sure if there was any left that was actually legal to have.
“Where’s Xaei?” Darius asked.
“Still in the house, getting the food ready. Enhancers, too.”
“Enhancers? Someone actually got some?”
“Yeah, he got it from work.”
Work. That meant that it was gonna be something good, at least. Xaei worked in some sort of scientific job, the sort of place that tended to work with real science rather than the fake, quacky stuff. That meant that they’d probably have some good things on-offer today, something that’d make the party a little more interesting.
Before he could head inside, however, Tony asked something he’d rather not have heard.
“How’s the book?”
Darius blushed, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Uh, it’s got an agent.” Probably. “Just waiting to hear back about terms on it.”
“Hey, man, awesome.”
“Yeah. Just, uh, going to check on Xaei.”
“You do that, man. I’ll keep an eye out for the rest of the guys.”
Nodding, he left the gregarious man on the lawn and went inside. The house itself wasn’t that large, perhaps big enough for three people to live in but no more than that. A short hallway immediately spilled out into the living room, and he could hear Xaie moving stuff around in the kitchen that was immediately adjacent. There was no dining room in the small house, something that he was relatively acquainted with after spending so much time here working on his book after work.
“Xaie?” he called out, hoping not to startle his host.
Crash, bang, wallop.
So much for that.
He walked around the corner, not that surprised to find a food tray slammed against the floor and little snacks still rolling around. Xaei, a shorter, pale man that was lankier than either himself or Tony, was still trying to salvage what he could of the mess, and was shaking as he did.
Darius shook his head, kneeling down by the little guy.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay.”
“Yeah…yeah, I know. Oh, god, that’s a mess.”
“It’ll be okay.”
“Yeah…yeah, it’ll…it’ll be okay.”
Helping pick up the mess, Darius managed to save about a quarter of the little cracker-cheese snacks. Some of them had been cushioned by napkins, which meant that they hadn’t shattered or been contaminated. The rest, unfortunately, had to go. As they got the tray back on the counter, he shook his head.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s alright. Just, you know, didn’t think you’d be here. Thought you’d be talking with Tony.”
“I can only take so much Tony.”
“Everyone can only take so much Tony.”
They smiled, and the feeling in the air relaxed, making it a bit less tense and strenuous. Working together, they quickly prepped a few more trays of food, and all the while, they kept talking.
“So, what’s this about enhancers Tony was talking about?” Darius asked.
“Oh, those. Um, just stuff from work. One of the guys was talking about the ‘latest male enhancement’ stuff. Muscles, hair…”
“…Other stuff?”
“Other stuff.”
They both knew what that meant, and he was pretty sure that Xaie was hoping that the last part was a joke as much as he was. The idea of suddenly popping boners in front of all the guys wasn’t exactly something that they got off on, nor was it something that he imagined that Xaie wanted to experience with all the shyness that the other guy dealt with on a daily basis.
As for himself, he definitely didn’t have any urge to start showing off. Hell, he had plenty to be working with down there, and the last thing that he needed was for it to get bigger and start outing him.
Still, when in Rome…
“Where is it?” he asked.
“It’s part of the cheese,” Xaie said. “I thought it’d be better that way.”
“Wanna do it now? Get it over with?”
“Please.”
He nodded, taking one of the cheesy cracker snacks and tossing it into his mouth. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Xaie doing it, too. There was very little in the way of the usual tell-tale taste or slight squirming feeling in the mouth that came from having one of those enhancers. Usually, the hair-growth stuff that some of the older men used had an itch in the roof of the mouth which then traveled up the cheeks to the top of the head. This one was different, almost like there was a warmth that spread through the inside of the mouth and then down through the tongue, spreading into the rest of the body.
Hmm. That’s new.
It didn’t do anything immediately, though, so he hoped that it was something low-key. Xaie rubbed the back of his head, fingers brushing through trimmed brown hair.
“You think that’s it?”
“I hope not,” Darius said.
“Well, um…let’s get this stuff outside, huh?”
“Yeah. Tony’ll keep people busy for awhile, but even he can’t hold an audience forever.”
Darius and Xaie each took a tray and walked back to the yard. Eight more friends had already shown up, and half of them were listening to Tony with interest, hearing him talk about how the space race was still going, how there were shuttles taking off every day to take people to the different reaches of the solar system. The rest, of course, turned to him and Xaie almost immediately, eagerly taking food as a distraction. Everyone was told about the enhancers before they could start eating, but nobody minded.
Hell, he was pretty sure that they were thankful for the distraction.
#
Darius didn’t know what he expected out of the enhancers, but he quickly found that there was something rather uncomfortable to them. He wasn’t the only one that felt that way, either, as some of the other members of the party started grunting at odd times, gripping at their chest, their arms, their faces, sometimes even…other places. It always passed relatively quickly, and they’d get back to their chatter about the main thing everyone was talking about these days.
Space travel had replaced sports, stocks, cars, and just about everything else that people had to talk about. If you weren’t planning to get on a ship – or couldn’t afford it – you were talking about what you’d do when you could. The colony rushes were over, but the fact was that there were plenty of opportunities off-planet that you would never get while bound to earth.
“I tell you, I’ll get out there and I’ll stake a claim for myself,” Tony was saying. “I’ll stake a claim and then make all the rules. A little mini-country, I say. Tony-Topia or something like that.”
“And you’ll have all the naked girls that you like,” someone joked, and everyone laughed as Tony went red. Even Darius giggled for a moment.
Then there was another twinge.
He bit off the laughter as he cupped his groin surreptitiously. It was the fourth time that he had felt it down there, and it was starting to get a little concerning to him. It felt like it was happening a little bit more than it should, and he wanted to make sure that everything was alright down there.
Walking towards Xaie’s house, he got a little attention from the rest of the crowd, but nobody talked to him except for –
“You alright, Darius?”
Xaie himself. He looked down at the host, smiling slightly.
“Yeah, just checking on how the, uh, enhancers are working.”
“Oh, um. Bathroom’s around the other side of the kitchen.”
“Thanks.”
He ducked into the house, finding it before long. As soon as he shut the door behind him, he grabbed at his pants and tugged them down a bit, looking inside –
“HOLY –”
Covering his mouth to draw no more attention than he already had, he stared at the dick that was pointing out at him. Not only was it different in size – his cock had never been like that while soft – there were other little shifts, too. Like the fact that his pubic hair was thicker than it had been just an hour ago, or the fact that his balls looked like they were covered in a coat of fur…
Or the fact that his cock was starting to pull up to point at his chin, rather than hang forward.
It wasn’t completely changed, of course. There was a flap of skin towards the base that hadn’t been there this morning, almost like a skin line that ran down from the base of his cock to his crotch. It was only an inch or so long, but it meant that his cock couldn’t flop down the way that it used to. It just pointed up.
“Holy shit,” he whispered, trying to keep his voice down.
He looked at the mirror, and now that he had a chance to really look at himself, he noticed that his facial hair was thicker than it had been, a little bit more prominent. He ran his fingers through it, then froze.
It didn’t feel like hair anymore. It felt like fur.
Another twinge hit him, and this time, he had his clothes out of the way enough for him to see the results. His cock was slowly pulling closer to him, the head getting covered by his foreskin more than usual. It dragged slowly upwards, sliding down over the head and…and it didn’t quite look right. It looked like something a bit more bestial, a little more like a sheath than anything else.
What kind of enhancer is this?
He didn’t know, but he knew that it wasn’t going to be ending with him staying human, that much was for sure.
He pulled his pants back up, noticing that his fingers had changed while he wasn’t paying attention. The knuckles were a bit less flexible, and his nails darker. With little dusting of hairs along the back of his fingers and hairs, with a few white strands among them, he couldn’t help but be a little concerned.
As he reached the yard again, hit with the smell of roasting pseudo-meats, he smelled something else. Not anything big, but something that held his attention more than it should have. It was like a sudden blast of stepping into the locker room, without all the smells of deodorant being sprayed in the air.
Mmmph…
He covered his nose, feeling his fingers cracking a bit as he did, and didn’t know what to think. Thankfully, he was drawn back to the moment by the host again.
“Everything alright?” Xaie asked.
“Yeah…um, where did you get those enhancers?”
“…Work.”
“Did you know what they’d do?”
“Well, um, not this time, no.”
“You might want to tell people to start packing it in. After they eat, sure, but not much longer than that.”
“Why? What’s the matter?”
“Just, uh, things are probably going to get more intimate than most people want, if you get my drift.”
“…Oh. Oh. Got you.”
“Yeah.”
Glancing around the party, he could see that he wasn’t the only one sporting a bit of a change. A couple ladies that had shown up had a thicker head of hair than they had when they’d first arrived, and their shoulders were starting to hunch up. Tony, thick-shouldered man that he was, almost looked unchanged. He imagined that, if it wasn’t for the slightly darkening nose on the man’s face, they wouldn’t have noticed that he was changing at all.
But it was all the other little changes that had Darius’s attention. Having worked his way through writing a book for the last few months, he had learned to start noticing the little changes, and he noticed a lot of little ones for himself.
The smell thing was just the start of it. There was also the feeling of the world looking both less and more distinct. The colors were slightly less sharp and different from one another, but the lines between the different shapes were stronger. The high-pitched whines of the cars flying overhead were louder, a little more piercing, too. He could have picked out where each of the different sounds were coming from, too.
And most of all, he could smell things.
He shivered as he mostly smelled other guys with the occasional woman around, but it was still something that affected him more than he’d expected. Not that he had really anticipated getting affected by smells, but –
“Mmmph…”
Another little twitch, another little feeling of twinges. This time, they weren’t quite so localized to the crotch, either, spreading up and down his body, going up to his head and into his ears, and then down to his legs and into his feet.
Had he been pushed up a little bit?
Okay, yeah, definitely a good idea for people to leave before the night’s over.
“Guys? Guys? Food’s ready,” Xaie shouted, and the crowd turned to the old-fashioned grill to get their plates and food.
#
As expected, the crowd cleared quickly once the rest of the guests started to feel some of the transformations kicking in. The guys noticed it first, while the few ladies took a little longer. However, when one of them leaned back and the imprint of something rather new down there started to show through her dress, it was quickly decided that they all needed to go.
As one of the few people that were still holding on to their original shape fairly well, Darius worked as the cab-caller. Most of the guests hadn’t come in their own vehicle, and those that had didn’t really trust them on the way back. As the hovercars came around, he gently pushed them into their rides, with Tony being one of the last to go.
He was showing some serious changes, going so far as to get a longer nose, and his ears had all but disappeared in the shaggy hair running down the side of his head. The long nose was tipped black like before, but the black spot was bigger than it used to be.
“You sure that this is going to reverse itself?” he asked.
“Pretty sure that’s how enhancers usually work,” Darius said.
“Better. I got a date tomorrow, and I didn’t exactly say that she’d be dating a black-nosed guy.”
“Just get going.”
He gently nudged Tony into the cab, and off it went. His own was going to be at least another half hour, if not longer, and he knew that Xaie could use some company until it got there. Shaking his head, he walked back into the little house –
“OH GOD!”
And immediately slapped a hand over his face. He should have guessed that Mr. Shy would have gone right to the bathroom to check stuff out after the guys were gone.
“Xaie?” he called out.
“Don’t come in!”
“Uh, if it’s about the stuff up front…”
“It, um…not quite!”
“You want some, uh…”
“Oh god, there’s a TAIL!”
He breathed a small sigh of relief. If that was the only problem Xaie was facing, then that was pretty easy to deal with. If he had other things going on, he was pretty sure that his friend would have noticed those first.
“That’s not that bad. It’ll fade by tomorrow, right?”
“Theoretically, yes,” Xaie said from down the hall. “But what if it doesn’t?”
“Then you go to work and talk to them about the enhancers and see what they’ll do. Everyone does this. It’s like someone showing up drunk once. It’s not going to matter that much.”
That was what the books had said, at least. He had needed to research a bit of crime law for his book – don’t ask why – and he had checked out how enhancer use was usually received by employers. As long as it didn’t last too long and affect the way that you did your work, it was usually forgotten about pretty quickly.
Eventually, Xaie stepped back out of the back room, covering his backside. His cheeks were burning, and there was a dark brown fuzz that was sprouting along his formerly clean-shaven face. His ears were halfway up the side of his head and pointy, with some fuzz coming along the sides of them, too.
Darius imagined that he wasn’t much better. He could feel the fluff itch running along the side of his face and neck, and his face felt stretched, pulled tight around something that had been slowly crick-cracking its way forward. He groaned under his breath, rubbing his cheeks and his face, and shook his head.
“I think we need a distraction.”
“I’ve got movies!” Xaie said, his voice almost the tonal-picture of desperation.
“…Yeah, that’s fine,” Darius said after a second, shaking his head. “Wasn’t going to suggest anything else.”
“Oh. Um…sorry. I…sorry.”
He arched an eyebrow, and Xaie turned his head away, looking down at the ground as if there was something utterly fascinating in the flooring. Darius chose not to join him in searching for whatever it was.
“Got something that you’d prefer to watch?” he asked.
“Um…The Giant of Venus?”
“That’s a classic. Sure. I’ve got time to kill before the taxi gets here, anyway.”
They both went to the couch. It always surprised him how much Xaie kept his house so retro compared to the rest of the people he knew. There were couches, old-style TV sets rather than holo-projectors, and more. It was like he intentionally lived as old-style as possible, and nobody really knew why.
But when they got right down to it, it didn’t matter. They got comfortable, kicking their shoes off – and both of them ignoring the fluff that had covered their toes and the tops of their feet – and did their best to ignore the fact that the couch sagged under them more than it should have. He felt bigger, his shirt tighter along his chest, but he hadn’t thought that he had grown that much.
Then again, the shit bottom had come free of his pants sometime during the party…
They looked at the TV and tried to lose themselves in the show. He didn’t know how it was working for Xaie, but it wasn’t going that well for him. Whatever the enhancers had done to his nose, they had made it not just better, but perhaps the best nose in the city. He grunted, rubbing his nose from time to time as he breathed in a musky smell, a soft, sweaty scent that mixed with a sort of sexy one under it.
One that smelled like jock and cock, now that he thought about it.
Mmmph, that’s…that’s distracting…
His cock throbbed slightly in his pants, and he could tell just by the way that it ground against the front of his clothes that it wasn’t the same sort of shape as it had been. That had to be at least a little more sheathed.
It wasn’t the first time that enhancers had been mixed with animal stuff to give people different features, but it was the first time that he had felt his cock turning into something inhuman. He groaned again, rubbing his nose as each breath was flooding his senses with not just the smell of sweat and warm bodies, but the taste, too. It was like it was cloying, sticking to his tongue and his nose, impossible to get away from.
Xaie looked at him every so often, and more than once, he wondered what his host was thinking about. He could tell that they were both progressing about the same speed through the transformation, getting a longer face, thicker mouths and noses, a proper muzzle starting to take shape for both of them. Their toes cracked from time to time, shifting, fattening, and he could feel his heels rising up as his feet became something like paws.
His tail took a while to show up, but when it did, he knew that he had a problem. He stood up abruptly, even as Xaie started to lean towards him.
“What? What’s the matter? Was I doing too much?” Xaie asked.
“No, no, just, uh…have a little problem.”
“What?”
“Tail.”
“So?”
“It’s too low for me to just pop it up…”
“…Oh, you mean, you need to –”
“Take my pants off. Yeah.”
There was a moment of awkward silence before Xaie finally nodded.
“Alright, um…go ahead.”
Neither of them were exactly comfortable with the situation, he knew, but he still took his time getting his pants off. The new muscles, the thick limbs, the way that his body was shaped meant that getting them off wasn’t exactly easy, but he managed it. A short-haired, white-furred tail stood out over his ass cheeks, revealing the other problem. It had gone commando, and now, he was naked from the waist down in his friend’s house, and…
Well, having a sheath meant that his excitement was more than slightly obvious. A tapered red shaft pushed out of the end of it, and he blushed as he sat down again.
As he looked out of the corner of his eye to see how Xaie was taking it, he realized that his host had a boner just as bad as he did, only the other guy’s was stuck in his pants, still. He was shuffling back and forth on the couch, doing his best to ignore his own needs, his own wants, and Darius couldn’t help but feel for him.
“You, uh, you know you could take it out…”
“I – nah. I shouldn’t.”
“You sure? I mean…it’s not like it’s going to bother me. And I think it’d make you feel better.”
Xaie blushed, looking down at his lap. Darius shook his head, extending his hand and resting it on his friend’s thigh. Trying to ignore the white fur that was slowly growing out of his fingers, he gave him a gentle squeeze.
“Look. It’s just me. I…I’m a little nervous here, too, but you know…you smell good. We could have…you know…a little fun, if you want.”
“I – that’s not fair of me to ask. You shouldn’t offer that.”
“Trust me. It’s not easy to offer.”
Shaking his head, he reached into his pocket, something that was getting harder and harder to do the more that he grew. He barely managed to fish his communicator from it, and he tapped a few buttons. With a beep, his taxi was canceled, and he put the little device down on the side table.
“There. Now you don’t have to worry about being interrupted.”
“You – you’re serious, aren’t you?” Xaie asked. “I thought…that isn’t just pity?”
“Not at all. And, well…” He gestured at Xaie’s bulge. “You’ve seen mine. Can I see yours?”
“…”
That was all it took. His host got to his feet, taking off his pants and standing with his hands behind his back. Though Xaie blushed horribly, his cheeks burning hot, his cock stood out even bigger and harder than Darius’s was. It was a big thing on a smaller guy, and despite himself, the white-furred man felt some definite hunger for it under his tail.
He moved along the couch after Xaie sat down, moving to sit on the other man’s lap. They changed positions a bit, with the brown-furred man on the bottom and the white-furred man on top, grinding his ass back against that big, tapered cock.
“You, uh, sure you want this?” Xaie asked.
“You’ve asked that three times now.”
“I know, but…”
“I’m not that good at taking charge…but I know what you want…and I know what I want right now.”
He slid back a bit further, grinding his ass cheeks against the shaft, rubbing it between the cheeks until he could feel the tip rubbing against his pucker. It was a definite shift in sensation, and he shivered as he felt the heat against his pucker, the warmth spreading through him already. Oh, yeah. That was something that this body wanted badly.
Xaie was still blushing, but as far as Darius could tell, he was ready for this. He wanted to feel what it was like to be involved with someone else, and that was all that mattered. He took a deep breath, and then slowly pushed down.
The heat and pressure faded as the tapered tip found the right spot. Just a little nudge, and it was inside. He hissed, his own cock jumping in shock and pleasure, but he couldn’t stop himself. Down, down, down he went, slowly taking that fat dick into his hole. He could feel the heat and friction as the big thing spread him open, but it wasn’t that bad. Maybe the enhancer was helping him with that, too.
Regardless, he pushed himself all the way down, feeling the throbbing heat between his ass cheeks, feeling the knot against his pucker. Oh, Xaie was right on the edge already, probably having been fighting his urges all night long. All that need, all that pent-up urge to rut, hid behind the shyness.
Well, there was no need to be shy when someone else was doing the work.
He could feel the white fur on his head and face running further down his chest, his muzzle growing in the more that he slid along that shaft. His hole kissed the knot, then he was up again, sliding towards the head. Xaie didn’t say anything, didn’t even move. All he did was moan as Darius treated himself to that fat dick.
It wasn’t something that he usually did, for sure, but something that overwhelmed him. Not a lust, not a bestial lack of thought, but something…something that pushed him to be good. Like the urge to help a friend, but much, much stronger. He groaned as he bounced, thrusting his hips back against that knot again and again, feeling the fur running up and down his back as it grew in thicker.
Both of them were sporting more of a muzzle, though not much more than that as he started to really get into it. Xaie’s hands rested on his hips, guiding him along, but his muscles were what drove him up, down, up, down, up, down. Each time, he felt the heat of that knot, and the temptation to take it deeper.
“Mmmph…you like…you like that?” he asked.
“Mmmph…yes…”
“You want to knot me?”
“Oh god…”
“You want to feel me squeezing your knot?”
“Oh god…yes…”
“Then…knot me…”
Brown-furred hands gripped his hips hard, guiding him down a few more times before the fingers suddenly clenched. The warmth of riding that shaft suddenly turned into something else as he was yanked down, hard. The sudden pull, the feeling of heat and pressure against his pucker, the stretching sensation of something huge sliding in –
POP!
And then the feeling of being filled. He arched his back, gasping as his cock jerked up and down, Xaie grabbing it tight and squeezing, and he could feel the warmth of his friend’s seed rushing up into him from being. Thick, wet, warm…plentiful…
It was not the last time that he’d feel that over the course of the night.
#
The next morning, neither had changed back. As a matter of fact, they had changed further, with only a few little bald spots that were gradually filling in left to show that they had once been human. Xaie was a brown wolf, he was a white one, and neither had any idea of how they were going to change back. Xaie mentioned something about a military contact that had visited the company recently, but Darius barely heard it.
“...I’m going to look so weird for my book cover photoshoot if this doesn’t wear off,” he said.
They both laughed at that.
