Chapter 3: Rune Magic
Asp gets some answers while he collects himself, yet again, from an intense experience. And takes yet more time to reflect and figure out just how his life has changed so quickly. Thankfully it was private this time, at least? He also meets some of Dria's friends (and more) and learns more about Prismarc, and his situation and circumstances, even further!
=====================================================
The third chapter of the light novel inspired series. As always, search for '-=' to skip right to the smut; as a warning, this does get mildly technical in the world-building. As for Elrenlani's chapter... I think I'll wait; while it does end at this point (and is double the length of anything else I've written, I think?), the spoiler is kinda major to the overall story and Asp doesn't learn about it for a while. Let me know if I've missed tags as well!
A somewhat strange sight was seen about mid-morning in the Labs of the Citadel of Prismarc: that of an iridescent green-black dragon pulling a gold drame along by her tail. “Let me go Asp, I can answer questions later! A drame has needs~!" The golden drame, Enoldria, cried out.
“Look, Sryl clearly needed to blow off a different kind of steam and Ren's..." The green dragon, Asporyx, or just Asp, hesitated; he really didn't want to give too much away. He wasn't sure how much his Isle Partner, Elrenlani, wanted divulged about their night before, or how much he wanted told. Green Dragons were... odd, he knew; back home, it was common for dragons and drames to have multiple lovers, and even form polygamous relationships. But as far as he knew, specifics were a taboo subject unless those in the conversation were included in that relationships. Last night, Asp had discovered just as much about himself as Ren seemed to about herself, and he was still sorting out how he felt about that. Honestly, he wasn't sure he wanted Dria to know the exact... nature he and Ren brought out in each other. That was embarrassing; he'd always thought of himself as a bit of a romantic, but his first time with a drame had wound up being like a patriarch using his favorite harem slave.
“Ren's what~? Still sleeping it off~?" Dria purred eagerly. Asp was about to give her a proper nip before he remembered he'd not taken any neutralizing agents for his toxin this morning; without them, the toxin in his saliva would cause a fair amount of pain to those in contact with it.
“Needing some Ren time, at least. She probably turned Fai away if that's where she was going." He'd seen the violet drame flying towards the isle on his way to biology class.
“Nah, I doubt it," Dria said simply; she stopped letting herself be dragged and stood up properly, untangling her tail from his. “But fine, I'll answer your questions." Her voice made it sound like a chore, but she seemed eager to answer him, bounding up to walk up beside him.
“So... who all knows you're a hermaphrodite? Like, how big of a secret is it?" Asp asked; the biology class he was just leaving had given him quite an eyeful and crash course on the topic, at least regarding dragons. It was something he'd never even thought about, but he found he was... intrigued; curiosity was definitely firing on all cylinders.
“Hmm, well, it's an... open secret? Fai and Ellie know about it. Somehow Dilorphus found out, not that I was inclined to let him know." She made a face; Dilorphus was, Asp was guessing since he'd never been formally introduced, a specialist Dark Blue who had certainly left a bad impression on both Ren and Dria. “And obviously Sryl and other herms, but I'm not about to give up their secrets. Plus, we're the only two here at the moment. I do let any other drames I get close to know, though. Elsewise, I show up to hang out while they're in heat and it gets all sorts of awkward."
“What about drakes? It's not like you've told me, despite how flirty you've been." Asp asked.
“Yeah, well... I tend not to tell them; so far, it's only a 25% chance of a drake not immediately attacking me, verbally or physically. I've been told my flirting is a weird defense mechanism, too, but I can't seem to stop when I find myself... interested." Dria sighed with a slight blush; she leaned against him lightly while they walked for a moment, and then positively sidled up to him. “Honestly not sure how many of my hatchmates or other siblings know, either. A few of them, of course; impossible not to given growing up together. No reason for them to know, either."
“Okay, about that interest... dare I ask, exactly, how you're interested? As a drake or drame?" He raised an eyebrow. Dria blinked and then blushed, heavily, probably the most since he'd met her. She brought her head up, the stockier drame's muzzle pressing just against his jaw.
“Oh, I want the handsome drake on top of me, treating me like his rutting toy~" She purred out, very quietly, thankfully. Asp shivered; that part of him that seemed to have awakened last night, the one that was eager to mate and breed... her purring woke that up real quick. He growled and she giggled a bit. “More seriously, I consider myself a drame with a bit extra, despite, it seems, how most would view me. So while I'm happy with whatever, when I'm with a drake, I'm quite happy to let him do the mounting." Dria couldn't quite meet his eyes, it seemed, so he nuzzled against her reassuringly. “Anything else?"
“Uh, besides if you've mated with Ren, not particularly... Wait, she did mention last night was her first time, so I guess not." Dria seemed to perk up at the detail he offered and he sighed. They were getting to the labs, anyways.
“I've not, obviously. Not even too much oral, certainly nothing like yesterday. I did offer a couple of times when she was in heat given her tastes, but I think our personalities are more suited to being just... friendly? What's the word... platonic?" Dria said. Asp blinked.
“Her tastes?"
“Oh yeah! You've not picked up on it? She's way more into other drames, at least when it comes to being intimate."
“We've... not spent all that much time together. Pretty sure I've spent a lot more time with you; I was too busy building my garden and, honestly, avoiding her a bit given the urges I've been feeling." Asp figured that was something else for him to talk about with Ren at some point. Particularly once her season calmed down; Asp was almost hoping, despite the view of the blue drame still bloated with his seed this morning, that she wasn't going to get gravid. If her season had clouded her reasoning, he was dreading how she'd feel about him once it cleared up, doubly so if she was full of eggs.
“Hey, Asp, you there?" Dria asked, her tail pulling on his; he'd walked past the Labs' entrance. He nodded and she smiled. “You really do zone out and get stuck in your head, don't you?"
“Oh yeah, usually it's botany or rune-formula design experiments that do that, though, not worrying about relationships. Man, it's not even been a phase yet and this place has turned my worldview inside out... multiple times." Asp sighed. “Also, cool it with the teasing... or at least be ready to dodge. I didn't take any neutralizers this morning, and between the urges to lick or nip, I don't want you getting hurt."
“Dodge it is, then!" Dria grinned, giving him a lick of her own on his nose; she had to sit on her hinds a bit to reach while he was standing. Asp huffed, unable to return it, so just bumped his nose against hers before entering the labs.
The Citadel's size was... considerable. In the terms of the 'cells', which was how much earth a team of six average Yellow dragon mages could pull up with a special Rune Magic formula called Landform. And the Citadel was a hexagon made of 271 of these cells. On this level of the Citadel, there were about 30 that were devoted to small labs specializing in Woodwork, Stonecarving, and Forging as crafting with Alchemy and Rune Magic research labs, 6 of each. There was also a single general lab in the middle of the floor. While Asp did poke his head into each type of the different specialized labs with Dria, and noted the considerable number of tools but lack of ingredients, he was more eager to check out the general lab.
“Wryt, Kastri!" Dria called out; there were a couple of the other groups in there, but only one was working. It was a group of a couple of indigos and a bored looking green, though she seemed to almost snap to attention when she noticed Asp, which just made him furrow his brow. One of the Indigos with her also looked up and waved them over with a wing. The other seemed to be sketching something into clay. Asp followed Dria, curious about this. What did shock him was Dria near on making out with the one who waved them over, the two drames taking a moment to kiss, heavily, before parting. That made... well, a number of things pop into Asp's head; by Dria's smirk, she seemed to read his mind.
“Whoa, Dria! Might give that drake there the wrong impression," The Indigo drame said.
“Oh no, he's gotten the right one, no worries~" Dria purred, her tail brushing against Asp's neck and tugging him closer. “Though he might've gotten a few ideas of his own, too~" The Indigo's eyebrows shot up in surprise and she blushed, but bowed her head nonetheless. He was heavily fighting the urge to nip at his friend.
“Kastrimri, daughter of Indigo High Mages; the one over there so absorbed in his formula is my brother Zecerwryt." The male Indigo lifted a wing briefly. It was fairly obvious they were siblings, while Kastrimri had a more distinctive, bright periwinkle coloring, they were about the same size and face structure. What really gave it away was their bright white horns: they were near identical, sleek and straight. Her brother had a more average coloring, but... not a whole lot of it. Both were metallic, as well.
“Asporyx, son of the Green Patriarch and a Lesser Green Mage." He bowed back.
“It is you, Patrician Asporyx! I am Nyferona, daughter of Dark High Green warriors." The bored looking green said. Asp blinked. She was a more traditional green than himself: a powerful form covered in dark grey-green, matte scales. She hard curved back spines running from her nose all the way down to the tip of her tail, which was covered in spines. She had a few scars, too, despite Asp guessing she was younger than him.
“Patrician?" Asp asked, which only made Nyferona shut her muzzle tightly. Patrician was the title used for the half sons of the Patriarch or Matriarch; Matrician was used for the daughters. “Let me guess, my father has you... looking out for me?"
“.... I appreciate you putting it in those terms, sir." Nyferona sighed. “It was supposed to be covertly, but, well... surprise got to me."
“I'm already going to second guess a number around me with recent... insights. Li'red's 'cover' has finally been blown, too." Asp sighed. “And none of that Patrician business; I appreciate the respect, but it's certainly not needed. Not like I'm ever going to be the actual Patriarch." She nodded. “And wait, formula?" He looked at what the Indigo male was working on and saw it was, indeed, a carving for a rune magic formula.
“Oh yeah, Wryt's almost as famous as you~" Dria told him. “He's on his way to becoming the best Rune Scripter. Though Kastri's got just as much talent when it comes to the mechanics of it."
“Not that that's a high bar to clear. Rune Magic is barely a generation old and even then, the Wars halted a lot of research into the basics of it." Wryt finally spoke up. “Asporyx, right? You any good with catalysts? Kastri's all wings when it comes to it, somehow." Asp looked over at the drame and she just shrugged. Asp nodded and looked at the ingredients while also looking at Nyferona; she shook her head.
“I, uh, mostly deal with antidotes." He blinked and then realized who he was talking to.
“You got any Deerflame on you? I didn't get a chance to make any tea this morning." She looked surprised, which was understandable; Deerflame wasn't a normal antidote herb. It was typically more a general health herb, he'd been told. But, given her position to keep an eye on him and specialty, he figured he'd ask.
“... Yeah, hold on." She looked a bit defeated. She left for a bit and Asp focused on the catalyst, or the stuff that would actually conduct the mana put into a rune magic formula. For this plant-based one, he separated out the different plants and picked out the highest grade he could find before putting them in a bowl. He used his flame, which almost made Wryt snap at him until the drake registered the flame was green. A Green Dragon's specialty breath, Verdant breath, could do the same thing to plants that the typical next step of the catalyst process required: breaking them down into a liquid state. A dragon's magic-infused breath usually matched their color, and it could cause numerous effects associated with the same element as their usual magic. Asp had a handle on green's decomposition, flash growth, liquidation, and hardening. He'd practiced the last two specifically for Alchemy and Rune Magic. Most dragons had to spend time with a mortar and pedestal and water, mashing it into a mush overtime. Which diluted it, as well. After a few moments, the catalyst was ready.
Wryt nodded his thanks, filling in the engraved formula before unleashing his own breath on the tablet; the clay and catalyst drying rather quickly. And, after a brief channeling of magic, Wryt scowled and tossed it into a pile. Nyferona returned with the tea by then, carrying it in a wooden bowl that was held up by a vine; Asp never did get a handle on that trick, somehow. He nodded in thanks and took a drink. While he and Wryt had worked, Kastri and Dria had spent some time talking; he could only imagine what Dria was saying. “Should I ask?" Asp asked the Indigo drake while looking at the discarded tablet. It looked like an odd variation on the scanning formula.
“Trying to create a general purpose analysis formula. The ones we have now are too cumbersome and complex." Asp thought back to the giant stall when he came to Prismarc and had to agree.
“That would need the Input Capture rune, wouldn't it?" Asp asked as he finished his tea. The input capture rune was one of the unknown runes, but in theory it existed based on the runestone's description of some old technologies. But runes were, really, markings that seemed to have no real rhyme or reason behind their individual designs.
“Oh great, there's three of them." Nyferona groaned as Wryt nodded. “I'd go back to the isle, but there's nothing to do." Asp blinked and the drame pointed to Wryt. “Isle Partner. Our isle is half cliff and half forest, but the forest is empty. Don't have any way to preserve any meat or I'd at least go hunting."
“I said we could get a drying box and cooking stuff when we get the points." Wryt sighed and Nyferona nodded with a sigh.
“I know, I know, I'm trying to be patient. But it's either follow you and your sister around or go down to the training grounds where that asshole is." Nyferona snapped at the air to emphasize her point.
“Oh yeah, him... even ignoring that one could be dangerous." Wryt sighed. “I am unable to fathom I once thought he was handsome, even scarred as he is. To think he'd be so bold as to try and mount a random drame in the hallways." Asp blinked.
“Dilorphus?" Asp guessed. Wryt nodded while Nyferona snorted.
“Guess you've heard about him, Asporyx?" The green drame eyed him warily.
“Met him... sort of; he ignored me, the silver drame with him was looking down her snout at me." He shrugged. Dria suddenly slid beneath his wing and leaned against him. He was so used to it at this point, but Nyferona raised an eyebrow. “My isle partner really hates him; Dria's not a fan either."
“Oh, him. Yeah, by the way, if I am going to be an Auntie, you might want to wear your battle bracers more often, Asp. He is not going to be happy; he considers Ellie his." Dria said. Asp hrumphed at that; Ren certainly wasn't Dilorphus's... she was his siren~ And why the hell did that pop up just now?! Asp blinked at the way his thoughts went.
“Any-anyways, onto that Input Capture problem... Always thought it kinda sucks you can't just make a new focus glyph... or a blank one." Asp sighed. Wryt stopped for a moment before tilting his head.
“A blank one? Why would you...?"
“Well, each rune and glyph seems to have it's own property or instruction. Like they are some type of storage." Asp yawned a bit; lack of sleep the night before was catching up with him. “Something a bit similar came up in my toxin experiments. Random Herb + Toxin = This effect. Right now, we can only write 'Deerflame + Toxin = Neutralization' with rune magic, essentially. But in Alchemy, 'Deerflame' can be replaced by anything. I've even got it in a notebook as just a letter that stands in for a value on a table."
“A blank focus glyph... or a unique one..." Wryt hummed a bit before he brought out a little bit of clay. Nyferona shot him an exasperated look and Asp just chuckled.
“What's your isle coordinates, Asp?" Kastri asked. “It'd be nice to be friends with an Alchemist. We're hopeless with that stuff. That breath of yours must come in handy." When Asp gave them to her, she and Nyferona both nodded; Nyferona told him theirs and it seemed Kastri was one of the drames helping test out the dorm system. He checked the lighting outside and sighed. “Okay, I should probably go check on Ren. And my garden. Ren said she'd water it, but it's not her responsibility. And yes, Dria, you can come." Dria beamed; Asp stood up and left, Dria giving Kastri another proper kiss before following him. After stopping to get Ren a fish meal, and grabbing one for himself and Fai if she was still there... and then Dria, since she was coming with him. Dria put them in the shoulderbag she'd brought with her, but had apparently left in the chests for students. Asp had to remember to bring his with him next time.
===================
Ren did seem up and about, at least, by the time he and Dria landed. She had at least found the catalogs; she was reading them. “Welcome back, Asporyx. And welcome, Enoldria," She bowed to both of them. She did look a little wary, and expectant, at Dria. “... How much have you told her?" Ren's voice was almost icy as Asp pulled out the fish meals for them.
“Well, she knows something happened; she figured that out on her own. And that you told me to call you Ren. That kinda slipped out." Asp said. He certainly wasn't going to apologize. Dria huffed.
“Yeah, he's being totally hush-hush on the details! It's no fun~" Dria whined as she settled in on the grass with a sigh and started in on her own meal. “... I did warn him to wear his bracers more regularly, though. Don't need him unready if he challenges him to some stupid duel."
“... I see; that would be wise. There is no assurance Dilorphus will behave or accept that I will bear somedragon else's eggs." She sighed. Asp blinked, about to start on his own meal when she said that; Dria started to cough from choking on hers while Ren calmly began to eat. “Did you see Faistyve on your way here? Oh, and I did water your garden, Asporyx."
“No, we must've just missed each other at the Citadel; if she went to one of the higher floors, we definitely did. But wait, that's not important... what do you mean 'eggs?" Asp asked. Ren shrugged.
“I mean, it is not 100% certain, but I have no need to mate, at all. Have not all morning" Ren said with a slight blush. “That is what Fai has gone to do; fetch our supervisor team. For... a few reasons, admittedly, about yesterday. They might be looking for you at the Citadel, incidentally."
“Kastri'll tell them where he is! We met her and Wryt and Wryt's Isle Partner, Nyfe!" Dria said. “Not that pairing seems like it'll work for long... Nyfe's way too restless; worse than you, Ellie~"
“Ah, that will be difficult for her. At least Asporyx seems interested in drames once you get his attention. That you are here, and this happy, that particular secret is out?" Ren finished her meal, resting her head on her claws. Asp nosed the spare towards her since Fai wasn't here and she nodded in thanks. He finally started on his own; he had asked, this time, what herbs were used. None were unknown to him, or did anything to his toxin as far as he was aware.
“Yep~!" Dria purred. “Maybe we can reenact last night with me instead of you soon~" Dria said. Ren blushed and shook her head.
“... You make me really thankful that I'm nearly black scaled, Dria... I swear, you've made me blush more these past couple of days than I ever had. Not that I was all that social..."
“She is just like that. I have yet to determine just how much I can tell her to satisfy her curiosity about last night without too many specifics. And she will not let either of us off the hook until she gets some details. Faistyve even asked for details."
“What, why?!"
“She has different motivations, but she is still curious. And given my state this morning when she showed up, it was a fairly natural reaction."
“Ooh~?" Dria purred. Ren sighed and stood, stretching a little; Asp blinked and then hid his head behind his wing after noticing what Ren was likely showing off. While Ren looked normal, when she stretched, she still had a bit of a swell to her belly. “...Whoa. Wait, it's been... hours!" Dria looked at Asp almost hungrily; he just ducked behind his wing again and finished his food. “And this is after what happened in class. Just how productive are you, Asp~?"
He sneakily hit his tail against her flank, hard, for teasing him, which just made the gold yelp. She didn't seem the least bit apologetic, though. “I-In fairness, it was more than once."
“That's... well, even more impressive. It takes me a while to build back up enough..." Dria pouted.
“Yes; that is why Faistyve went to get our supervisors... She felt it best we both get examined." Asp lowered his wing and frowned a bit, but Ren leaned over and bumped her nose against his. “Asporyx, you need not be worried. I meant what I said last night; I wanted this. We may not mesh as well as you and Dria. Or, I suspect, you and Faistyve, but I am not the least bit angry about last night. And not just because I attacked you."
“... You did what?" Dria snarled, shocking both him and Ren.
“I was underwater and saw a dark drake land on the island. I also was not entirely in my right mind and assumed the worst." Dria seemed to calm down with that explanation; Asp nuzzled against her lightly as well and she relaxed more. “He held his own... surprisingly well; Blues are taught Greens are not the best fighters for some reason. I did not expect to be beaten, even heat-addled."
“You didn't even notice the scratches, Dria, relax." Asp slipped his wing around her and the golden drame finally seemed to calm down. “The paralysis did help, too." Dria looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “One of the herbs on the deer I ate last night with you turns my toxin into a paralytic, even if it's been the pain part of my toxin gets neutralized... I guess it's more like it adds the effect?"
“Yes, that did help force me to calm down and realize who you were." Ren said; she was faintly blushing, but Dria, for once, didn't seem to pick up on it. She was too busy processing what she'd been told.
“Sorry for snarling, Ellie. I dunno what came over me..." Dria said.
“... Really? Do you even realize Asp has his wing around you or that you are braced against him right now?" Ren asked. Asp felt Dria try to flare her wings and wiggle a bit before she actually blushed. Ren just sighed. “You may have, unconsciously, tried to annoy, but it seems that, at least, Asporyx has accepted your interest." Asp tilted his head. He did have to agree he certainly didn't mind Dria being interested in him; she was more than a little bawdy, but she was also rather cute and protective of her friends. And her presence did soothe him, even if she kept him on his talons with what she might say.
“... You really don't mind, Asp?" Dria asked, her voice as nervous as it was earlier after class. He leaned down and licked between her eyes and she just snuggled in against him. “Good; this feels like where I should be."
“What about Kastri?" Asp tilted his head.
“You find her unattractive or something? She didn't seem to mind you; she likes smart drakes." Dria said. “I mean, I won't kick her out on her tail, but I do have other dramefriends that I could pull into our fun~" Asp just stared for a moment, his mind needing to take that moment to register what she'd said. And then wonder what he was getting into with the smaller drame. He swore he heard Ren stifle a laugh. “Are you going to mind if I join you two, Ellie? On the isle, I mean. Actually might bring Sryl, too... if he does wind up gravid, he's going to need some help and support. He might not go for it... he's not wild about Asp's show seeming to push him into a strong heat."
“I will not mind, Enoldria; I have no claim over Asporyx... despite the claim he might have on me." That blush, Dria didn't miss. And Asp couldn't help but notice the way Ren phrased that. He let out a growling groan and snorted; Dria just... grinned, was the only way he could describe it.
“Claim, huh~?" Dria purred inquisitively, looking to Asp.
“We'll need to talk about that in private, I think. I honestly don't know what came over me last night... all of that was new to me. All of it. I'd rarely even thought of mating before I got here, let alone any details." Asp said. “Honestly, I'm a bit... worried about that side of me, now. I may have had a thought along those lines earlier when talking with Wryt."
“Really?!" Ren's reaction. “And here I thought you were into drames only..." Asp shook his head, quickly.
“I dunno about that, but not that kind of thought. That drake came up as a topic and I didn't like it when it was mentioned that he still considered you his, is all." Asp sighed. Ren just nodded with a blush and Dria giggled. “I will say... not really liking the idea of tailhole play, so... getting intimate with a male in that regard is probably out of the question. I doubt I'd mind being close otherwise."
“I'll have to keep that in mind, though I really only wanted and need one stud~" Dria purred. “But given this place... I might have to have at least another if another herm comes along. I know a general research topic here is trait inheritance, including hermaphrodism. While we likely have the answer of what'd happen if I mounted someone like Sryl... there's always what'd happen if I carried his eggs, if that becomes possible. Or another herm's. Think you'll be okay with that?"
“.... I dunno; might depend on the relationship you have with them. Like I said, that thought earlier worried me. If Dilorphus had shown up in the lab, I might've challenged him to a duel myself. Between assuming he could just mate whoever and what Ren thinks of him, and vice versa... I'd rather he not be a problem. I wouldn't want him to try anything with Nyferona, Kastri, or even Faistyve." Dria nipped at him when he said that, though Ren seemed to nod understandingly. “What?"
“Are you a big softie or are you just trying to build a harem, Asp~?" Dria huffed, even if she seemed to be teasing and knew the answer.
“Well, you're fond of Kastri and Faistyve seems to be friends with both of you. And Nyferona's here at least partially because of me. I have no doubt you girls can handle your own, but I hate the idea that you should even have to." Asp growled. “And given those scars and his coloration, he's a specialist and a fighter who's seen combat; I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt on top of whatever he'd do if he won. Or lost, for that matter. I get the feeling he really wouldn't take a loss well at all."
“A big softie, then." Dria seemed happy to be reassured.
“And you are not wrong; even if he lost, that would not be the end. At best, he would just challenge you again. There was a reason I expected him last night." Ren sighed. “We lost more than a few servants because of his lust. Whether they grew gravid or not, they refused to work anywhere near him. And my sisters were not spared, either."
“Why was he even allowed near the castle?"
“He is, essentially, a war hero. He would come to try and woo me. When that failed, he'd go ask my parents. They might be at fault here; they never denied or confirmed their consent to make the unofficial engagement official. I believe they wanted me to be available should another Kyndom want to forge more than... paper ties. But, should that not work out, they wanted us to be a union." Ren said. “After both failures, he'd be angry. And take out his anger and lust where he could. We Blues do value strength, so he is seen as... desirable in some regards. But most who lay beneath him regret it, particularly when he casts them aside. Now, it's only the most naive drames who fall to him, but it is still... a source of vex."
“'Course, if you're a herm, you're safe." Dria growled; a nuzzle from Asp kept her from getting too worked up; he could only guess that Dilorphus was one of those that mistreated herms. “So you at least don't have to worry about me and him. I'm not entirely sure how he found out, really."
“I told him." Ren said simply. “He was in a particularly bad mood after I denied him while I was in heat about a couple of cycles back. And he had been persistent, so he was worked up and mentioned you specifically. If you recall, you were coming over with Faistyve and a few others. I was unsure if his color prejudice would be enough to keep him in check, so I may have implied you might try to switch the roles on him."
“... I do remember, Myl dropped out of those meetings shortly after that?" Dria said. “She did go out for a bit during the meeting. I guess he got to her." Ren nodded.
“I guess he did not mind the risk of her family's wrath." The blue drame sighed. Asp was starting to get agitated, listening about this.
“... I definitely want to do something about him. I don't know what; I doubt alchemical castration would fly with our population problems." He grumbled. Both Dria and Ren looked surprised when he spoke up. “What? It sounds like he's only going to be more and more of a problem."
“You are not wrong; he has, technically, only committed minor crimes. As far as I know, he's never actually mated through force; he just has a habit of assumption. Though, I think my mother and others are to draft stricter laws in regards to that type of behavior now that the walls between the Kyndoms are dismantled. What Blues value is not necessarily what Greens or Reds value; just because a drake is strong, it does not give him the pass to try and mate with whoever. Even inside the Blue Kyndom, it should not have." Reds were notorious for being very strict with their family structure; Oranges and Violets were similar. Asp nodded, though.
“... I will have to experiment, I guess." Asp said. Dria was still looking at him with a bit of worry, though.
“Don't go too far. And don't get hurt, Asp." Dria said. “It is... mildly scary to see you like this. Thrilling, but scary."
“I mean, I can't promise on that second part, but it's not like I'm going to try and get hurt, Dria." Asp sighed. “And don't worry, I fully intend to run whatever I plan to do by Ren and you. Right now, I'm stuck on 'paralyze him and let that silver drame go nuts.' I didn't get the best impression of her, but she seems to have her own ideas. I do know some herbs that could simulate an insatiable heat-state when mixed together."
“Hmm... Argloni? Yes, she might be of some use. My impression of her is... unfavorable, but for this particular brand of justice, she might be well suited. And if Faistyve's theory is right, you might not even need new herbs." Ren said. “And as I speak of her..."
Suddenly, the small isle's even smaller clearing was... very full. Fai had come back with Bertuzza and with her was Professor Lytrina and the drake from the opening ceremony... That put Asp a little on edge. Ren had mentioned he was her uncle... and a general, and Asp got the impression he was one of the bigwigs at school. He, at least, landed in the water's shallows. In addition, for some reason, a Yellow-Green Helix drame was with Wryt, Nyferona, and a very excited Kastri. Sryl was also with them. Wryt also had a bag slung around him from the shoulder to behind his leg.
“Faistyve... I expected our supporter and who she thought to bring with her..." Ren started and the violet drame bowed her head quickly.
“I know, I know! But Wryt's group and Professor Bylinvu were coming this way already!" Fai said, looking really stressed. Asp sat up properly, starting to feel awkward lying down while, now, the majority was standing. Dria did the same, but Ria stayed lounged out. “Wait, Sryl? When did you show up?!"
“I was looking for Dria and guessed where she would be." The drake shrugged.
“Let us calm down, everyone." The General spoke up; the large, matte, pale drake. General Toriltide, if Asp remembered right. “I understand the nature that brought myself, Lytrina and Bertuzza here and think it be a more... private discussion. So, Zecerwryt, what brought you here with Bylinvu?"
“Sir! I wanted to report to Asporyx that his idea worked." Wryt said; Kastri bounded over to them while nodding vigorously, sidling up against Dria, sandwiching her between herself and Asp. Asp just tilted his head a little. “His idea of making a rune, that is. Or, more specifically, a glyph." Asp just blinked again.
“Hold up, that seriously can't be my original thought, can it?" Asp said.
“It's not." Bylinvu said. “I'm one of the Rune Magic professors here and a researcher, Drake Asporyx. And as you said, the idea isn't original. But the way you framed it to Wryt helped him figure it out. Specifically as creating a glyph as a variation in an equation; we honestly thought such a thing would be insanely complex and world-altering. We, apparently, thought too much of the system. And only were looking in one area of the problem."
“Indeed." Wryt said. He pulled out a clay disc; Asp could see the vague shape of a rune schematic on it, but wasn't close enough to be able to see decipher it. Kastri spoke up, though.
“It'sathreelightruneformuladisc!" Apparently, Kastri was really excited.
“A variation on that, yes. And here's the paired one." Wryt said; it was passed over to sit between himself and Ren. Asp bit back his question, figuring that Wryt or Kastri would explain. “Paired one" was a term he was unfamiliar with, but he'd barely scraped advanced rune magic when he had to prepare to come here. “Without the Input Capture glyph, we've had to create large, unbroken formula. Though I guess the term of Input Capture a misnomer, now. You would agree?" Wryt asked Bylinvu; the drame nodded. “I will just use Paired Glyph, for now, but if my theory is right, then that might not be the right term either. Asporyx, the one by you is simplified, but if you'll take a look at it."
Asp did look, along with Ren and Dria, though Asp wasn't sure how much they knew about rune magic. “It seems... really simple? There aren't any nodes, at least. All I see are three light glyphs, though I don't recognize this glyph in the middle."
“That is expected; now..." Wryt channeled magic into his disc's formula. A green light and two different intensities of indigo formed as orbs and started dancing; it wasn't anything major. Just a pretty toy and a classic 'beginner's' formula, essentially. What was more astonishing, though, was that the disc by Asp suddenly lit up with the same lights and dancing in the same pattern. Ren started while Asp's mind reeled. He flipped the disc over to confirm there wasn't some delayed action formula on the other side; Bylinvu laughed.
“I did the same thing."
“Okay, that's amazing... but, uh... why bring it to me? You're the one who put it into practice." Asp said.
“My brother maybe a little odd and researched obsessed." Asp felt personally, slightly attacked by that statement from Kastri; he wasn't much different from what he'd been told. “But he's also a stout believer in everyone involved getting credit. We'll actually need your help with an idea Nyfe came up with, but something tells me that'll have to wait."
“Ah, this is quite remarkable... and much earlier than we dared to hope." The General said. Wryt and Asp both looked at him with a questioning look as the discs were collected. “You didn't think professors were the only ones who were going to be expected to do research, did you? You both were requested by those who know of your accomplishments. Most of the dragons here now are, really, or their lineage and importance in society. So, either through merit or station, the 36 dragons brought here early are your generation's elite." Asp wanted to protest and groan; he didn't really think of himself as elite, but he was continuously reminded that his isolation while gardening and experimenting isolated him from “normal" dragon society. He really should have listened to his mother's suggestion to get out more. He just... didn't like dealing with all the stares he'd get. “Regardless, some research topics have a bit of a bounty system in place and I dare say this one counts as 'input capture'. Who else was involved?"
“I mean, Dria, Nyfe, and I were there, but we didn't contribute to this in particular. Nyfe and I did come up with somethings, though, that might unlock a whole different gate." Kastri said.
“Alright, then, I'll be sure to write up the reports for this." Bylinvu stated. “I think we've reported what we've needed to, though, and this place is crowded. So I will take my leave." The helix professor took off back towards the citadel. Wryt made to follow, but Toriltide held out a wing to stop him.
“I do have a project that makes use of your new discovery, young drake, related to why we are here. Come with me." The General led Wryt off a distance down to the other side and end of the lagoon; there was at least some breathing room now.
“Alright, now onto why we're here..." Bertuzza stated. “Faistyve has some... concerns, it seems." Asp felt like shrinking, now. He had a feeling he knew some of what this was about.
“Wait, Asporyx, it's not about you... well it is, but maybe not how you're thinking." Fai said. “Just... a lot happened yesterday and I'm concerned about the effect it might be having on others and you, in particular." Asp furrowed his brow and tilted his head; he had no clue why Fai would be concerned about him, but he was touched, he guessed? “It is a somewhat... delicate and personal matter, though. Elrenlani should be here for this. And from the looks of it... maybe Dria...? I'm not so sure about myself, Kastri, Nyfe, or Sryl."
“Well... Nyfe?" He looked to the green drame who had been quite and on standby, honestly looking a little lost. She nodded, though, not seeming to mind his use of her shortened name. “Is partially here to keep an eye on me for my father, and if what I'm starting to suspect this is about... I'd rather she be the one to tell him than Li'red. I'm assuming this ties to the Golden Leaves?" Fai blushed but nodded.
“Then I'm staying, I might be wrapped up in this too." Sryl sighed, finding a spot close to Ren to lie down; Asp was a little worried but Ren didn't seem to mind, so he pushed the possessive urge out of his head. Seriously, where is that coming from?!
“Well, I'm... curious, so I'll stay." Fai said. “As long as you don't mind, that is." Asp shook his head; he figured Dria would probably let something slip anyways. And, honestly, he was starting to get a little burnt out on feeling embarrassment all the time lately.
“Kastri, you might as well stay too~" Dria said, giving the indigo drame's cheek a lick. “I do plan on joining Asp when we can join isles." Kastri nodded with a blushing glance at Asporyx. He just nodded back and sighed. “So... guess it'll stay this crowded."
“Alright then! First, we'll have-" Bertuzza started to talk, but was interrupted.
“I can confirm, already. I've already been communicating with Drame Elrenlani." Lytrina said. “And Drake Srylumdar as well." Ren and Sryl both nodded; Ren's face looked normal; Sryl did not look... thrilled, if Asp had to guess. “It's only precursory; they need a proper scan for more specifics, which would involve the booths in the health center."
“Well congratulations! And I'll be sure to tell Shae, Drake Srylumdar and Drame Enoldria! That's one objective for the month checked, and so soon~! And convenient you Violets can sense such things!" The gryphon hen supervisor seemed quite pleased; she brought writing tablet out with a scroll already attached, using her claw to make a mark. Writing tablets were useful tools, really: they had a rune formula that marked whatever was on top of them how the one channeling magic 'wrote' it, be it via talon or claw, or with some practice, the mind. Asp had a writing desk built into his alchemy table back home with some other functions built in and was sorely missing it.
“All Violets can with the right training." Lytrina said. Fai nodded with a sigh.
“I feel like I'm missing something..." Dria said; Asp had to agree, but he was on edge as it was.
“Eggs; you got me knocked up." Sryl grumbled. Dria jolted in Asp's wing hold and blinked.
“But after one mating...? I mean, not unheard of, but I didn't think that'd actually happen." Dria said. “I mean, I know I was pent-up..."
“And that just all but confirms my theory..." Fai sighed. Asp looked to her and she blushed, heavily. “Well, uh... gah, this was not the first proper conversation I wanted to have with you, Asporyx. But I theorized your... release yesterday in class had some ramifications. Whether it was because you were pent up or because how your biology is reacting to the Golden Leaves, it wasn't just Elrenlani and Sryl that you triggered heats in. Of the 12 who could go into heat, biologically, that were in the room yesterday, 6 of them did. That's including the professors." Asp glanced at Lytrina, who simply, curtly nodded. “I thought the Golden Leaves' pollen may have concentrated within you, which could've led to such an event."
“That could... explain some things about last night. My seasons are not usually that intense and even self-satisfaction was enough. I had assumed that it was because there was a drake involved that my body wanted more." Ren stated. “I may have been more... exposed. First while in class and then when we began in earnest." Her and Fai both blushed, heavily. Asp blinked and fought a groan; just how much did Ren tell Fai? He didn't think he even had to worry about that!
“Alright, but why does that warrant a visit?" Asp asked.
“I overheard Drame Faistyve's report and was... concerned." Lytrina said. “Some drakes waking to their mating instincts might resort to force; it's part of my job, if that is to happen, to determine what measures might need to be taken." Asp about snarled but she fixed him with a cold stare. “This is a standard protocol, not an accusation. Truthfully, Drame Faistyve's retelling was vague and she sounded distressed. I thought it best to come directly. You are already cleared of suspicion. I do recommend caution, particularly if Drame Faistyve's theory is correct."
“Indeed~ And I'm your supervisor, so I need to know these things! And it seems Drame Elrenlani had a question that needed answering?" Bertuzza asked.
“... That is a topic I would prefer to discuss in a more private manner." Ren stated simply, shifting a little. It took Asp a moment to realize what she probably wanted to ask... part of him was disappointed, even if he understood. Honestly, if she didn't want to mate again for a while... he definitely understood. The gryphon hen nodded.
“And I came for two reasons: to explain how we would determine if the theory is correct. And to check on my niece, since she is involved." The general's gravelly, deep tone cut in; Wryt seemed to stay on the other end of the lagoon, working on something. Toriltide's large form, that of a dragon just near their 'elder' phase, made it's way over to Ren and leaned down to give her a nuzzle, which she returned. “You are okay, I hope?"
“Yes, uncle, no need to worry about me or to worry my parents. Except to inform him he might have eggs to look after; this has happened rather quickly and Asporyx and I have not gotten a chance to discuss that or much else." Ren stated. The general nodded.
“Alright then. I was going to tell Drake Asporyx we needed him to come to the health center, but... you must be a bit overwhelmed, yes?" Toriltide asked Asp. He could only nod; he was starting to get tired given... all the information hitting him at once. And how nerve-wracking having so many around in this small of an area. The topic of conversation wasn't helping, though he was thankful everyone seemed to avoiding direct mention of his seed. While a totally normal body function, even among the more loosely defined relationships of the Green Dragons, Asp was pretty sure drakes and drames both got embarrassed discussing such matters. Even Dria, for all her teasings, had only rarely slipped into outright explicit topics. “So, I have asked Drake Zecerwryt to create an analysis rune apparatus here with his new discovery. We do, however, still need a sample, so if we give Elrenlani and Drake Asporyx some privacy..." Ren shook her head.
“Enoldria looks like she has an idea and might bite me if she does not get to voice it; I have seen such a look before." Ren said.
“Oh, totally! I wanna help with, uh... sample collecting!" Dria said. Yep, Asp figured whatever part of him felt embarrassment was officially burnt out. “Though... my whole idea involves Kastri~" The indigo drame squeaked.
“Dria, are you sure? And you, Kastri? If my theory's right, there's some risk involved here. Given we've confirmed that Ren's season was sated, it'd be safe for her." Fai asked.
“Well, I'm not going to force Kastri, of course, but if your theory is right, my season ended not too long ago, so I'm not due for a while. I wasn't effected yesterday, anyways." Sryl hmphed at that. “Okay, so it didn't send me into heat; I have no idea how it effected my drake side. I still put that mostly up to the show and excitement." Dria said. Ren seemed to give Sryl a sympathetic nuzzle, which surprised the helix drake-herm.
“And... well... um... myseason'snotforanotherhalfcycle." Asp couldn't tell if Kastri was nervous or excited. Fai nodded.
“That seems... riskier, but it's still further out than any of the other drames who were effected." Fai said. Suddenly, everyone was looking at Asp, who only went stock still.
“I can't really say no, can I? Might as well get it over with. I may have lost most of my capacity to be embarrassed at the moment, though, but I am definitely going to need some privacy." He turned to leave, Dria following and pulling Kastri with her.
-===================-
Asp led them to his garden, though frowned when looked around. It was still fairly cramped, though Dria seemed to have an idea. “I know it might be a bit much to ask, Asp, but could you restack those logs a bit flatter?" The golden drame asked. Asp nodded, noting how Kastri was looking at them almost covetously.
“You alright over there?" Asp asked. “And you really didn't have to come along... I don't think. I'm sure Dria would've been happy on her own."
“Y-yeah, I'm fine. Woodcarving's one of my hobbies, but Nyfe's not cut down any of her trees yet, something about keeping up with her training." Kastri said. “And, uh... Dria kinda pulled me along because I wanted her to..." The drame blushed. Dria was busy marking out a boundary around the flatter log pile. “If her plan's what I think it is, it's a variation on something I've wanted to do for a while. But I'm not as... open about my desires as Dria is. I mean, obviously I told her, but I wouldn't have been able to volunteer myself."
Asp nodded, watching as Dria started to use her dragon's fire. It was better for more precise work than their normal connection to magic was, even if it was less efficent. And where the flame hit the ground, it rose up eventually to be higher than the logs. Kastri went over to keep Dria steady as she carefully walked around the logs, creating an earthen barrier around them at a slope. Then the golden drame caused the barrier to become a dome before flattening it out and seemingly enhancing it until it was sturdy enough for all three of them to stand on. It was... honestly an impressive amount of magic used and Dria only seemed slightly winded. Asp used his own breath to cause the rock to be covered in moss at Dria's request. Kastri grabbed one of Asp's wooden bowls from nearby as well.
“Alright, Asp, up there on your back!" Dria said. “And let that beast out~" She purred. Asp only huffed a bit in response to that, but did as she said, settling on his back much like he had been yesterday during the class. He eased his length from his slit, though it was still hardening. After the oral session in class yesterday and the extended mating session last night, he wouldn't call himself horny. He was getting curiously excited at what Dria might have in mind for him and Kastri, though. “Now, Kastri, go lay on top of him; get that cute slit of yours nice and close to his muzzle. He might even sneak a taste or two." Dria winked at both of them as Kastri smoothly lifted herself onto the 'bed' they'd made. Soon, she was laying on-top of Asp; while she was fairly pale, her under scales were almost dusky in color and that's about all Asp really could see, now, besides a blushing, dripping slit and some of her more richly colored scales framing the sight beneath her tail.
He did as Dria suggested he might; his tongue slipped out and slid along that slit, tasting the drame's excitement. Her taste was smoother than Ren's and had a slightly sweet, cool taste to it. Asp found himself licking at Kastri more and more, feeling his dragonhood get harder quickly as his mind filled with the thought of rutting the indigo gravid. He heard her purr and moan, her body jumping as his tongue pushed in and he ground behind that pleasure point. Hers had a small nub hidden just behind the outer scales of her slit, too. It was fun to let his tongue roll around it, and it seemed like Kastri really liked that. Her moans got louder and she began to pant.
“Whoa, you really dug in, didn't you~?" Dria asked, her muzzle by his ear. “Can't blame you, she does taste amazing~" The herm purred, her own tongue joining his, making Kastri whine while their tongue's twisted together and around that nub inside of her; the poor indigo's tail shot up and curled. After a few moments of this, though, Dria turned the shared cunnilingus into a deep kiss with Asp; he could taste her saliva mixing with Kastri's arousal. “Hmm... maybe I should've asked, but you're not going to mind watching me rut Kastri here senseless up close and personal like this, right?" Dria sounded nervous for a moment. Asp didn't even hesitate to shake his head. “Good, I promise we'll take good care of coaxing that sample out of you in return~" He gave her another kiss, his eyes closing while he felt his heart thump in his chest. Dria pulled away and Asp had to stop the urge to dive back in to eating out Kastri while the golden herm climbed on-top of both of them, sandwiching the indigo between them. Asp then got an eyeful of his... friend's drakehood. It was weirder, honestly, to think of her as a prospective mate than it was for him to be confronted with that. He really only had Li'red's family as friends back home, after all. He took note of the ridges along Dria's length, leaning forward and brushing his nose against her curiously. She yelped in surprise, a second one came when his tongue slid along her barbs a bit, remembering what Ren had done and teased against their grain to make them pull.
“A-Asp!" Dria groaned from atop Kastri, who only whined with the weight on-top of her. “Okay, that makes me really happy, but l-later, alright?" Asp chuckled, squeezing his tongue around her length before helping her angle and push into Kastri. Dria pushed herself into the hilt and Asp felt his length throb when he heard both of them moan. He turned his attention to Dria's slit, though, his nose pressing up against the golden drame's lighter hued underscales. She ground back against his nose for a moment before leaning her weight back. Her sun-baked earth scent flood his system and his tongue dove in, making her wings flare out. “O-okay, I didn't really think this through... I can't exactly move my hips with Asp's nose buried against me so forcefully." Asp blinked; he might've gotten a bit carried away and eased his head back down a bit and Dria purred out her thanks. And Kastri moaned hers out as those golden hips started to move, his tongue still probing and twisting around, though he had to extend more of it than he thought. And Dria had to keep her thrusts short and quick, not that Kastri seemed to mind judging by the wetness on his chest and her moans.
Asp was, vaguely, starting to wonder how Dria planned to help him give a sample when he felt something warm and wet surround his cock, making his hips buck up into it. He felt a claw push down on his hips and while what he could only guess was someone's muzzle wrapped around about three quarters of his length, a second tongue wrapped around the rest of him. His wings flared out and flapped slightly in surprise, his eyes closing for a moment at the intense rush that hit him. And kept hitting him as the muzzle around him starting to suckle almost hungrily, tongue exploring his ridges and barbs. His hind leg kicked at the air slightly as he got... well, not used to the barrage, but accustomed to it. He did find it strangely sexy to watch how Dria's golden-yellow length plunged into Kastri's dusky folds over and over again. Though, Asp had to say, the scent of their mating was strong and working on him. He honestly wasn't sure how long it was, entranced in watching the show, the drame working over his length, and tasting his golden drame's wetness. In contrast to Kastri, Dria's had a dry spice taste to it, so he did have to ease up a little on it after a while, focusing instead on working his tongue against that pressure point where that slit came together on the belly side.
Dria's hips started to work faster, harder before finally slamming as deep as she could; Asp watched as his friend's base twitched and throbbed, her cum pumping into the drame sandwiched between them. He barely noticed the drame-cum covering his tongue and front of his muzzle. But it was like he'd been broken out of a spell, the urgent need to release hitting him full force and he snarled out his warning a split second before the first thick rope jetted into the drame's muzzle around him. After a couple of ropes went into her muzzle, she pulled back and Asp winced as someone pushed against the barbed side of his length just above his slightly swollen knot, angling him. He groaned, assuming at least some of his seed was getting into the bowl as his head fell back. His neck was a bit sore, admittedly, but idly groomed the part of Dria's tail he could while his release finally died down. Asp was surprised; when his release started to slow, Dria's hips pulled back and she pulled herself out of Kastri, who whined. The messy sight was weirdly... cute and Asp managed to sneak a lick of Dria's slightly limp length. The combined taste of the two drames made him growl appreciatively, but Dria didn't give him long to try. She stepped off of him and Kastri. “O-oh, Nyfe, good... Here..." He heard Dria say; her voice sounded shaky. “I overestimated myself, I think... thought I'd be able to carry it back. Can barely stand." Asp frowned at that, though he wasn't about to move with Kastri still on-top of him. For some reason, she hadn't moved... and her nose was pressed against his length. “I think we'll need a bit, Kastri's out cold. Sorry Asp." Dria called back; he twitched his tail to tell her no real harm done yet.
Presumably, once Nyfe headed back to the clearing with the sample, Dria went about helping Asp ease Kastri off of him. “She's kinda always wanted to have a threesome... and gets off on getting watched." Dria said quietly. “D-didn't expect your tongue to get so enthusiastic, there, though!" Asp stretched once Kastri was off and he rolled onto his side. “Seriously, can barely walk properly right now." Asp chuckled and kissed Dria's nose; she purred and nuzzled into him along his jaw, cleaning up the mess she'd made on his muzzle and the mess at the base of his neck a little.
“It was fun, but I would've felt a little awkward if all I'd done was watched. And gotten suckled on." Asp said.
“Oh yeah, she's good at that~" Asp blinked; he fully expected Dria to be the one to have done that. She giggled at his expression. “She likes that, too, and I have no experience beyond the one attempt on my own." Every drake did try it at least once; Asp wasn't surprised that the same went for herms. “So... she gave quite the visual demonstration." Asp had to agree with a nod. “Now, let me and Kastri rest for a bit, though we'll be out of your scales soon, promise." Asp shook his head at that.
“I mean, it might be a little close quarters, but I don't mind the company." Asp said quietly; he definitely got the feeling he'd be a bit lonely after the last couple of days if he was on his own. Dria laughed and gave him a light kiss before shooing him down to the clearing.
===================
When he got back, Lytrina, Sryl, Wryt and Nyfe had left. Ren had moved to lounge in the shallows of her lagoon while Fai laid on the bank; they seemed to be discussing something. Toriltide and Bertuzza seemed to be pondering over some paper, too. He cleared his throat while he found a place to lounge himself.
“Well, let us get down to it... while not the worst outcome, the Golden Leaves' pollen certainly has had an effect on you, Drake Asporyx." Toriltide said.
“Sir, please, Asp is fine. I think we're a little past formalities here." Asp said. “I'll still call you sir, of course, but you can at least drop 'drake'. Same with you, Madame Bertuzza."
“Very well then. With some impromptu rune magic, we managed to create something that could analyze the sample you gave." Toriltide said. Fai couldn't quite look him in the eye at this point, but she and Ren were paying attention. “And just as Fai hypothesized, your biology has concentrated and amplified it some."
“Amplified it? That's... a scary word. Particularly since I can't exactly escape it. I'd rather not go all lust crazy." Asp said with a slight frown.
“I do not foresee that being a problem. Your system should adjust over time, though what happens when you leave Prismarc... well, can't say if the physical changes are permanent or not."
“... I wasn't aware there were any."
“You were not sexually active then, I take it?" Asp shook his head. “Your... emission is much more than the average drake, even after last night, if you'll forgive the indelicacy." Asp noticed both Fai and Ren blushing hard at that. “Not enough to be a problem, but noticeable. You are also considerably more... potent than the average drake, even one under the influence of the pollen. Again, don't foresee that being an issue, either."
“It sounds like you are concerned about something, though." Asp said; he already had something of a guess. “I imagine it's the heat quick starting bit? If it's in my sample, that likely means it's in my toxin and saliva as well..."
“Yes, that plus the... other enhancement." Toriltide said. Asp blinked and then looked where Toriltide was: at Ren. He put together what he already knew and what they were telling him quickly enough.
“Fertility enhancement?" Asp guessed. Toriltide let out a sigh of relief; Fai and even Bertuzza blushed, though. Ren's face was... clouded.
“Yes; I will let Ren and Bertuzza discuss that particular... result with you. And I assure you, the result seems to be quite accurate despite the new rune magic formula. It was consistent at least; we did some testing while Lytrina and Drame Nyferona were still here. Incidentally, your sample did start her heat as well. We did not exactly think of that when we sent her to check on you... Though I guess the small data we got about Greens not being immune was a consolation, and we have a better idea the risk window. But, to bring us back to what this means... we urge you caution should you find yourself being intimate with another drame until you find a way to at least negate the fertility enhancement and heat quick-starting effects."
“I will arrange for a Ring Pass for you at the registrar's booth in the bazaar when I get back. I would urge taking a Violet or Indigo with you to lessen the effect of the pollen, as well. I am sure between yourself and Zecerwryt, you will be able to come up with something if you are willing to wait." Asp dreaded that idea, honestly. Those first three days before the class were... uncomfortable, borderline torturous at times and dragon anatomy wasn't really great for a male's self pleasure, he had found. And while he was sure she'd be happy to, he wasn't going to ask Dria to help out either, never-mind Ren.“Zecerwryt's already working on a couple of things for you based off the prototypes here given this is a bit of a problem we want to have solved. It would be unfair to ask you to leave, after all. And, on a slightly more personal note as I go... I second the recommendation about battle bracers. That brat is not the type to keep quiet when he hears about something like this. I would also have your plan more solid before going to class." The General said before he left, diving into the water much like his niece did whenever she left.
Given that warning... Asp tried to brace himself for the news. He really did. And despite what Bertuzza was saying after she dropped the egg news, all he could hear in his head was the number he'd been told. Only after the gryphon left and Fai prompted him to say something did his mind jump back into action.
“_ Nine?!" _
