MANWOLF
A poem for Halloween
Fascination in the sky, the moon
white, illumines
the night, when the deadworld rises to topsoil.
this night, where vivid monstrosity is, watch:
a boy beautiful ties himself to a tree
and the monster comes, slinking, the manwolf
nature dark primeval as fertile earth
lustful engine for a heart, blood under fur flowing red
red
red as lolling tongue, tasting the want-heavy air
red as its/his cock, slipping into the want-heavy air
boy a ready vessel
he takes, is taken, is given, gives himself
he gives at the push/press, an economy of desire
teeth limn the beating red of his pulse, his neck a cup overflowing, runneth over
tongue on flesh, skin on fur manwolf on boy
a tying of the cord, a handfast/cockfast, knotted together tender
tied to the tree, he ripens like an apple, drips want's pale honey that dries tacky and salt/sweet
a tongue laves skin, lathes the peel red on the ground
flesh and fur uncovered denuded fur grass from fertile earth
manwolf and boywolf newborn claws break the red cord
they flee into night
