Drives With Wolves: Chapter 4
Here's another entry for you! I thought about knocking out the entire camping trip in one sitting then realized it was going to be way longer. Best to split this trip up with the tribe into multiple pieces.
Journal Entry 13:
A few days prior to leaving I brought a map to Kosa to see if he could pinpoint where we were heading for our trip. Luckily he could decipher where we were heading and we realized there were a couple very rural roads we could take that would cut our travel time in half! Instead of nearly a day and a half of hiking it looked like we were going to be able to cruise over for a few hours in the RX7 and walk for a few more and we would make it. Of course this only added to my anxiousness of meeting the rest of the good people who raised Kosa.
After work I was able to meet with Kosa at the overlook and we threw a small pack of something he had brought and two bows in the back of the RX7 and were on our way. I started driving for the first hour but when we hadn't seen any cars driving along through the winding mountains I pulled over and let Kosa take the wheel. I sat there thinking about what I was doing, where we were going, and who exactly I was with. How luckily I was to meet this hunk of a wolf of all people and how much we both seemed to enjoy each others company. As we continued driving we still hadn't seen a single other vehicle. Sometimes I wondered how a tribe like Kosa's could live in this day and age without any human contact or being discovered but if there were roads this deserted still in the wilderness I can't imagine what else might be out there in the vast expanse of the wilderness. Then again, if the wolves had half the charm as Kosa I'm sure they could convince any human who came across them to help keep a secret as well.
At some point I had fallen asleep in thought as the humming of the engine moved us along. Kosa quietly shook me awake.
“Hey, Josh, I think we are almost there.” Kosa said. I looked up, noticing a mile marker on the deserted two lane road.
“Yep, just a couple more miles here. There should be a turn off that we can park the car at.” I said. Sure enough a few short minutes later and we found it, pulled the car in and tried to pull the car off the road hidden as best we can. We gathered our things, I brought a pack with a few supplies in it and Kosa threw whatever sack he had around his shoulder along with the bows and off we went. The hike was a peaceful few hours. Some of it was a little grueling especially through the darkness through steep and rough terrain, but then again maybe this was necessary for the wolves to keep their secrecy. Kosa helped me with his better eyesight through most of it. I kept my arm on his shoulder as he lead the way and guided me through some of the tougher terrain.
A few hours into our hike and Kosa stopped. He began rummaging through his sack and pulled out a piece of cloth. He pulled it tight and strapped it around his waist as I realized it was a loincloth.
“Homecoming formal wear?” I asked. Kosa laughed.
“Not all of them run around naked. I enjoy my freedom but it is proper to be clothed in the community. Not like you ever seemed to mind.” Kosa said as he winked.
“Damn. And here I was imagining I would be walking into an entire town of wolves going about their business naked. So we must be close right?” I responded to Kosa.
“Oh yes, very close. We've already passed a few of our guards hidden in the trees, but they are going to continue to stay hidden for now. Some friends of mine, you'll have a chance to meet them later.” Kosa said. I felt unease at realizing we were or had been watched as we crossed into the tribe's territory, but they did what they had to for their own safety. As we crept through the trees in the darkness the sound of a bustling village could be heard. Light broke through the trees as I started seeing the first tent hidden among the trees behind the firelight. We continued approaching as I saw a few figures, more wolves, chatting peacefully around the fire and even some pups playing off to the side. The closer we got the more tents I started to see, a whole network of tents and fires hidden among the trees as we broke through the edge of the camp into the light. At this point I could feel prying eyes on me as they noticed our entrance. Kosa was unfazed as he continued on and I followed.
We made our way past a few tents to what appeared to be a center of the community, hard to tell how many tents and fires were placed about the camp but it had to be 20-30 in all. The center held an open yard with a few fires and community circles chatting and eating, laughing and enjoying themselves. The wolves were much like Kosa. Some darker, some having brown, black, or gray coats, and some even being a mix of a few colors. Some shouted out Kosa's name, and he would wave or respond quickly in passing, but we never stopped to talk to anyone. There were women, children, stronger younger males and some elders mixed about, all just enjoying each others company. They noticed us, or what felt like me mostly, the alien of the group, and it put me at unease even though nobody seemed to mind. I continued on with Kosa hoping the feeling would pass. Finally we stopped at a larger tent in the center with markings on the outside and two strong looking guards.
“Kosa! What brings you here?” The darker black colored wolf to the right of the door chirped up in a friendly manner.
“Hello Tocho! Good to see you again! Just visiting with a friend here, this is Josh, he has been a friend of mine for a while now closer to the human city, just thought I would talk with the alpha a bit. Josh, this is Tocho and Elsu.” Kosa said as he motioned to the dark wolf and then to the brown wolf to the other side of the door.
“Elsu is a bit quiet, but he's a good wolf.” Kosa added.
“Pleasure meeting you.” Elsu smiled and bowed.
“S-same to you, and you as well Tocho.” I said as I stuttered a bit, still a bit intimidated but it all.
“So Tocho, I need to talk to Ahiga, is he available?” Kosa said.
“Let me check for you, just a moment here.” Tocho said as he opened the flap of the tent to speak a few words, before leaning back out. Kosa turned to me.
“Listen, I'm going to talk to the alpha for a bit. Just hang around out here and maybe chat it up with some of the tribe. I can smell your nervousness but you really don't have to be, they will welcome you with open arms. I'll be back out as soon as I'm done with the alpha.” Kosa said.
“Oh alright, um, I'll probably just sit back here and wait for you.” I responded to Kosa not really sure how to approach the crowd of wolves chatting among themselves.
“Nonsense! I'm sure the pack would love to meet you!” Tocho piped up.
“Tala! Come here please!” Tocho continued as he shouted towards the crowd. From the crowd came a gray female wolf, slightly smaller than the males but that was to be expected. Even so, she was much taller than I.
“Josh, this is Tala my mate. Tala, can you show josh around the tribe and get him acquainted as a proper guest should?” Tocho continued as Tala approached.
“Oh of course! Very nice to meet you Josh, we don't have many humans through these parts.” Tala spoke softly and with great care.
“Thanks, I'm pleased to meet you as well.” I said as I held out a hand ready to shake, but instead she sniffed and smiled at me.
“Forgive him, it's a human pleasantry, he doesn't notice scents as much as us so they shake hands or something as a greeting.” Kosa said as he laughed and noticed my failed attempt at a handshake.
“No worries there sweetheart, come on Josh, I'm sure the pack would love to meet you.” Tala said as she grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Kosa and the guards. I turned back to protest but Kosa was already stepping inside the tent, leaving me alone with these wolves.
Tala brought me to a bench to be sat down between a few wolves and herself as we faced the fire. She introduced me but to be honest with how many them there were I forgot most of their names. We talked, I answered an onslaught of questions from the various male and female wolves sitting beside me and we joked and poked fun at each other a bit. Soon enough I had felt very welcome among these people chatting and laughing with them. One of them had brought some drinks out for everyone, it was some kind of alcoholic beverage no doubt, I would say similar to wine but definitely a bit on the stronger side for me. The drinks continued to pour until I felt myself slurring my words and the world began spinning. I motioned to the wolves that I need to go to the bathroom, and walked out to the wilderness to drain myself. That was the last memory I had of that night before blacking out.
At some point throughout the night I must have ended up back with Kosa. I awoke in the middle of the night feeling warm bodies on all sides of me but I was still shrouded in darkness. I realized my clothes were gone, wearing nothing but my underwear. I felt concerned, sitting up, and trying to look around to find out where I was until I felt an arm wrap around me.
“Ssshhh, it's fine I'm here.” I heard Kosa say as he brought me back down to the bed. I felt and heard others softly shuffling about around us. Some snoring softly.
“Sounds like you didn't handle your drink too well. Tala said you left the fire to relieve yourself and after not returning they went to look for you and you were passed out.” Kosa said as he giggled as quietly as he could so as to not disturb the others.
“Fffffuuuuck” I quietly said, feeling terribly embarrassed.
“Sshhh, don't worry about it, they don't think ill of you because of it. Just go back to sleep I have a surprise for you tomorrow.” Kosa said as he cradled me in his arms and he head rested atop mine. I slipped back into slumber as I felt his warmth comfort me.
Journal Entry 14:
I woke the next day with a brutal hangover. A terrible mind splitting headache felt like it was crippling me. I felt Kosa nuzzling the back of my neck as there was another male wolf wrapped around my front who I don't think I had met. Looking around slowly we were in an open tent, bodies slept all around us as some were waking up and heading out to do whatever business they needed to that day. I don't know how he does it but Kosa seems to be good at sensing when I'm awake and spoke.
“How are you feeling?” Kosa asked.
“I feel like I'm dying. My head hurts.” I said.
“Haha, yeah that'll happen. I'm sorry I didn't warn you about that stuff.” Kosa said.
“No it's fine, I knew what it was I guess, I just kept drinking down whatever they gave me too fast.” I responded. Toughing it out I sat up, the unknown wolf releasing his grasp on me. He opened his eyes briefly to look at me, smiled then seemed to fall asleep again. Kosa sat up with me and stood up himself, pulling me up with him. My head still felt like it was spinning, but Kosa helped me keep balance as I got dressed and we made our way out of the tent in search of some breakfast.
We ate breakfast with a small group of the pack as I noticed Kosa seemed a bit distant. He wasn't saying much and was focused on something he was thinking about.
“Kosa is something wrong?” I said concerned as it seemed to snap him out of deep thought.
“Huh? Oh no, just thinking what we might do today. Say, there are some hot springs not far from here. Would you want to go try that out? It might help with your hangover.” Kosa responded with a smile.
“Yes I'd love to.” I said with a smile but not convinced at his response. I felt like he was hiding something still. Soon enough we finished our breakfast and Kosa grabbed his pack, heading up to the mountains with me in tow. The hike was uneventful for the most part, with Kosa pointing out a few things to me along the way, safe berries to eat in the wild, chatting up about growing up with the tribe, and other things.
“What is the alpha like?” I asked, imagining someone powerful, possibly even frightening.
“Oh Ahiga? He's not so bad. He's actually my father believe it or not, but don't let that make you think I get any special treatment. If anything he's harder on me about mistakes I make and such. But he is fair. He just wants me to grow to be strong.” Kosa responded, not having any malice in his description of his father.
“Oh wow you never mentioned your father was the alpha. What were you talking about last night with him? You were gone for hours.” I asked.
“The relationship as an alpha and a father are much the same. He is almost like a father to the pack I suppose. I look at him the same way I still did as my father but he just happens to be father to many now. And as far as what we spoke about, well, catching up, about you, things like that.” Kosa said.
“Oh, about me? Like what?” I pressed on.
“Well, I just let him know you'd be around for a few days. He agreed you would be welcomed like a member of the pack, and I spoke to him about other personal matters.” Kosa continued on.
“Well, this is it, these springs are said to have special minerals to relax and heal any wounds. I think it should do well for your hangover.” Kosa said with a laugh.
“Finally! I just can't wait to relax in the warm water with my favorite wolf.” I said with a smile as I started removing my clothes to hang on a tree.
We slowly dipped into the hot springs feeling out the temperature, it was very warm to the touch and extremely relaxing as steam rose from the water. It was a somewhat chilly day and the shade of the trees didn't help, but being in the hot springs was making for the perfect contrast to the cool breeze.
“Oh yeah, this is perfect.” I said as I sat back against a rock next to Kosa.
“Mmmmm yeah, we're going to be here for a while I think.” As he leaned close to me with an arm around my back, holding me tightly to him. I leaned my head to rest on his shoulder, just staring blankly ahead of us as the springs trickled and steamed around us. We sat like that motionless for what felt like an hour just enjoying each others company and the warmth of the water before Kosa finally broke the silence.
“Hey Josh?” He asked.
“Yeah Kosa?”
“Well....” Kosa responded seeming hesitant. I sat up and turned to him, his ears were pulled back and he seemed concerned like he was nervous about something.
“What's wrong?” I asked.
“I want to ask you something but to be honest this is the most terrified I have ever been in my life.” He said as he avoided eye contact with me, looking down.
“Kosa please, what's wrong?” I asked again.
“I uh, well.... I'm afraid to ask this, and I get that we have only known each other for a short amount of time but I feel like we have something here and...” Kosa rambled on with a quake in his voice.
“Would you, would you be my mate? Would you be my lover for the rest of our lives together?” Kosa asked with concern I had never heard before. He lowered his head like he was ashamed.
“Oh Kosa..... Kosa” I said as he leaned down and I hugged into him.
“Of course I will. Kosa you've filled me with love I have never known before. There is not a single other person I have met who I would want to spend my life with aside from you. You were unexpected but at the same time everything I had always wanted in a real relationship. I accept. I will always love you.” I responded as I broke down in tears hugging against his neck.
“Really? Oh Josh thank you so much, I love you so much!” Kosa yelled as he hugged back and began licking along my face. He stopped and we both just sat there in the warm water of the springs, I was practically on his lap hugging against his neck as he held me.
“Here, I wanted to give you this.” Kosa said as he opened the palm of his right hand, giving me a leather bound necklace with a shaped crystal.
“This has been in my family for generations. My father gave it to my mother when they became mates, my grandfather did the same before that. Now you are going to wear it while we are together as mates.” Kosa said as he clasped the leather around my neck, holding the crystal to my chest.
“Kosa. I don't know what to say. I would have never thought I would meet somebody like you. Like this. Thank you.” I said as tears continued streaming down my face.
“Sshh it's fine, I'm so happy you accepted. It's a huge load off my mind. Let's just enjoy this.” He said as he hugged me again, resting his head atop mine. I agreed, leaning into him, his wet fur clinging to me. I slipped my leg over his lap, as I straddled Kosa. I pulled back a bit as I could feel his cock growing from his sheathe.
“Mmm Kosa, I think I need you right now.” I said lusting for his cock.
“Murrrr I thought you'd never ask.” Kosa said as he growled into my ear, lifting me in the water and wrapping my legs around his waist as we faced each other. Kosa reached down to grip my hardening cock, giving me a few pumps as I moaned in his grip. He gripped both his cock and mine in his paw as he stroked both of us in our tight embrace while I leaned up to him for a kiss. He accepted, opening his maw to allow me entry before pushing his tongue into mine, lapping and kissing into my moaning mouth.
“Kosa, take me.” I pleaded.
“With pleasure, mate.” Kosa said with a deep satisfaction I could feel in his tone. He lifted me again, probing his cock at my hole as he began lowering me down onto his cock. I was helpless to resist his entry as I cried out in pleasure. So used to the feeling of submitting my body to his touch but somehow it felt different this time. We were together forever this time and it made the moment all the more sweet. I felt him bottom me out on his knot, holding off on forcing it into me as he lifted me back up, only to drop me back down on his cock again. Kosa was smoother than usual. He was going for a sweet, passionate mating unlike our animalistic romps of the past. He wanted to savor the moment, stretch it out as long as possible as we gave into each others pleasure. I began feeling that lightning bolt of tingle at the tip of my cock. His cock finding the sweet spot within me to probe me in just the right way and push me closer and closer to my orgasm. The pleasure was indescribable yet again, before tonight the ruthless pounding was what sent me into a frenzy of passion. But tonight was different, the contrast we had tonight, Kosa being so soft, so gentle, was giving me a whole new feeling of lust and pleasure as his cock slipped in and out of me in rhythm. My cock bounced each time he slipped into me, making me squeal with pleasure as I hammered his chest and rested my forehead against his shoulder blade. I could feel a low growl reverberate through Kosa as the grip around his cock was sending him closer and closer to his impending orgasm. I tried to squeeze, to push, to play with his cock in my ass as best I could with the little experience I had in the activity. I could sense it was working, Kosa shook his thighs and his thrusts became panicked and unorganized. I squeezed again, attempting to milk him of his seed as best I could. It was becoming subconscious, with each thrust into my prostate I would tense up, and squeeze around Kosa's cock as he whined into my ear. Soon I could feel his thighs twitching as he reared up one final time, his cock stiff, as he lowered me down past his knot, locking us together. The feeling of his knot stretching my ass, then slipping in with a sigh of relief sent me over the edge as I could feel his cock throb and pulsate load after load into my depths. I began to cum into the warm water, string after string of cum blasting from my cock as I could feel Kosa do the same deep inside me. We both shook in each others grasp as our orgasms subsided. Leaning into the embrace I rested my head on Kosa's chest once again.
“Kosa I will always love you. You've given me more than any friend could have in the short amount of time we have known each other. I know I don't need to but I can't thank you enough.” I said.
“Thank you, I love you so much Josh. Thank you for accepting me, for being with me, for everything.” Kosa said as he gripped around my body holding me tight.
We sat in the springs for several hours after that holding each other. Eventually Kosa's knot deflated but we still held on to each other in the warm water.
“Listen. About my father. Last night when I was speaking with him I told him I was going to ask you to be my mate today. He fully supports my decision but, by the time we get back to the pack tonight word may have spread spread to the others. When two mates join for life there is a ceremony which they are likely preparing for tomorrow. I just didn't want you to be caught off guard.” Kosa explained.
“Thanks for the warning Kosa, I'll be fine if you're with me. Your pack is very nice despite me being nervous around new people. What does the ceremony entail anyway?” I asked.
“It is supposed to represent the stronger of the mates supporting their love and future of the pack. I am to go on a hunting party tomorrow with my pack mates. You and I are not to see each other until tomorrow evening after I leave you tonight with the pack. When I do arrive, they will prepare a feast of what the hunting party brought back. It is supposed to represent our strength as a couple. The better the hunt, the stronger the love, but it is just an old tradition at this point so don't take it too hard if I come back with little. Ahiga. The alpha. You will meet him soon, he will give a speech and then we will be joined together in ceremony at the feast.” Kosa explained.
“That sounds.... Nice actually. I think I can handle being in front of a crowd for a bit, as long as I have you there.” I said.
“Oh yes it wont be so bad, I'll be with you at that point either way, I can help you through this if you need. If you ever feel uncomfortable just please let me know so I can make it right.” Kosa said as he looked down at me.
We finished up our time in the springs in the late afternoon and headed back to the tribe. When we arrived nobody seemed to act differently, it was a relief and made me hopeful that the rest of the pack did not know what was going on yet. Kosa brought me to Tala when we got back.
“Alright Josh, this is it. I wont be able to see you until tomorrow evening at the ceremony after I go visit the alpha tonight. Tala, will you help Josh get acquainted for the evening and take care of him? I have to go on a hunting party tomorrow for a bonding feast tomorrow evening.” Kosa explained as he turned to Tala.
“Wait, does that mean?! You're becoming mates! Oh I'm so happy you found someone Kosa! This is great!” Tala exclaimed as she wagged her tail and hugged Kosa, then I. I hugged Kosa one last time and whispered into his ear.
“Do me a favor, and bring back the best hunt your tribe has ever seen tomorrow.” I said as he smiled and turned towards the alpha's tent with a bounce in his step.
“Thank you so much for being with him.” Tala said as she turned to me.
“I mean that, I have never seen Kosa so animated before. You've really brought the good out of him and it is easy to see he really loves you.” Tala continued on.
“Oh, uh, really it is just as much a pleasure for me as it is for him I assure you. He's amazing to me.” I responded honestly. Tala smiled back at me.
“Come on then, let's get you some dinner for the evening and we can sit around the fire and talk.” Tala said. I explained I was going to grab my journal so I could write, which is where I am leaving off for now. Here's to a grand ceremony tomorrow, I hope Kosa's father is not as terrifying as I expect him to be.
