One week later

Surviving had been an uneventful affair until tonight. Everett had a pretty decent stock of food that had finally run dry the night before, and Sam ventured out from the relative safety of the apartment for the first time. The group of survivors had grown by five, a family of Otters. Sam had found all five of them hiding in a sno-cone shack while returning to the hotel. All of the new arrivals were injured in some way and were being tended to by Trinh and Everett.

“Thank you so much for going out there Sam,” Teal slunk over and sat down, “Is there anything I can do to help?”

Sam looked around the group of scared and exhausted Furs and humans and sighed. There was nothing more to be done, at least not until morning fell. The human sat down on the couch and examined his guns. He had taken both of the pistols the group had out with him. They didn’t need to be fired tonight, but old habits die hard.

“Maybe you can keep an ear out,” Sam began, “You’ve got good hearing. Let me know if you hear anything strange.”

“I can do that,” Teal looked up, his head feathers raised in a show of confidence, “I’ll keep you all safe.”

Sam looked into Teal’s eyes. There was so much the human wanted to say. He wanted Teal to know that he didn’t blame him, but an even bigger part of him wanted Teal gone. After what had happened, what Teal had done, Sam didn’t see his friend in the same light. He knew that whatever had assaulted the Jack Russell Terrier wasn’t Teal, but at the same time it was. Sam didn’t trust the Raptor at all, but right now he was useful. His entire powerful body was a weapon, a weapon Sam could and would use to keep this group and his lover safe.

Everett looked up at the Raptor from the Otter pup’s ankle he was bandaging and shot him a quick smile. Everett, surprisingly, was more forgiving toward the Dinosaur’s actions than Sam was. Teal looked down and moved to a seat closer to the door, putting as much distance between himself and Everett as possible. The two had been understandably distant since the attack, but Everett had been making every attempt to make Teal feel better. The Jack Russell Terrier stood up and walked over to his boyfriend with a sigh.

“All of the injuries are taken care of,” Everett rested his head against Sam’s shoulder, “I’m headed to bed. You coming?”

Sam sighed and looked towards the window. The room was dark and the curtains were drawn in an attempt to mask the presence of people in the room, but faint orange light seeped in through the cracks. The fires were still burning. Sam kissed the Dog’s cheek and rubbed over Everett’s body. The Dog was in a tank-top and shorts in an attempt to cope with the heat. The air conditioning in the building went off on the second day.

“I don’t know,” Sam sighed, “I want to Everett, but I should really stay out here. Something could happen.”

Everett frowned and leaned in closer.

“You’ve said that every night and every night we’ve been fine,” Everett began, “Teal’s watching the door. Just please come with me. Please.”

As Everett pleaded with the human, a loud explosion shook the building and shattered the windows in the Jack Russell Terrier’s apartment. The people in the apartment started to scream, and Teal immediately poked his head up.

“We need to go,” Teal shuddered, “Something bad is coming. I can smell them. Men with guns, Raptors, something worse.”

“Okay,” Sam put his hands up, “Everyone, we need to go.”

“Go where?” Trinh screamed and covered her ears as another explosion shook the building, “Where could we go where no one could find us?”

Everett gasped.

“Wait Sam,” Everett began, “Didn’t you say that everything is offline? Aren’t the cameras connected to the same thing as the trackers?”

Sam nodded and gasped. There were plenty of shelters and observation areas for scientists in the research zone. These shelters were stocked with plenty of rations and weapons. If they could get into one, they could defend it until help came.

“We need to go into the research zone,” Sam began as he grabbed his pistols, “All of us are going to have to split up. Groups of one or two. There are maps in the research zone, use those to find your way to the cove on the northeast side of the island. We’ll meet in the shelter there. You can’t miss it.”

The group of people fell silent.

“Just take the paths,” Sam said calmly, “But stay off of the main roads, we do not want them to find us.”

Another explosion resounded from outside, throwing chunks of rubble into the now shattered windows of the Dog’s apartment. Sam ran to the door and threw it open.

“You can stay here and die,” Sam frowned, “Or you can fight for your life. What will it be?”

All of the people in the room started to run after that, splitting up in the hallway to take different stairs. Sam, Teal, and Everett were in a group, closely followed by Trinh and a large, round human. They took the stairs that they had run up just a couple of hours earlier. Another explosion rocked the building, the rubble that crashed down on the stairs separating Teal and Everett from Sam and the others.

Everett cried out in pain, a large piece of rebar sticking out of his lower leg. Teal whimpered and nuzzled him tightly as he took it out as gently as he could manage. On the other side of the rubble, Sam shouted like he was the one injured and attacked the pile, trying to move it out of the way. Trinh held him back.

“You need to keep up your strength,” Trinh began, “We need you.”

Sam slumped to the ground and looked up at the pile of rubble, defeated.

“Teal, Everett,” Sam barely bit back the tears, “We can’t get over. You know where to go, please take care of each other.”

“We will Sam,” Teal replied as he helped the Jack Russell Terrier on to his feet, “Can you walk?”

“I can limp,” Everett put an arm around the Raptor’s neck, “We need to get someplace where I can patch myself up.”

The Dog whined.

“Sam?” Everrett asked, “Can I tell you something?”

“What is it Everett?” The human replied, getting as close to his boyfriend as he could, “You can tell me anything.”

“I’m so happy I met you,” Everett sniffled, “I just hope I’ll get to see you again.”

“You will,” Sam replied, “It won’t be long before you’re in my arms. Nothing’s going to stop me from getting to you.”

Sam sighed.

“Teal,” Sam continued, ‘Get him out of here.”

Teal nodded and hurried the pair of them down the stairs as fast as possible. They made it to the second floor before Teal’s headfeathers stood up. Everett froze and looked up at the Raptor. With a snarl, Teal shoved Everett through the second floor door.

“You do not open this door until I tell you to,” Teal looked at the Dog sternly, “You need to stay quiet. No matter what happens.”

“Teal,” Everett whimpered as the Raptor shut the door, “TEAL!”

Through the door, Everett heard the sound of raptor claws approaching up the stairs. The stairwell erupted into a chorus of shrieking, slamming, and jaws chomping. Everett could hear claws and teeth tearing into flesh. With a slam, one of the Raptors hit the door hard enough to leave a dent, and ruby red blood pooled underneath the door. The injured creature shrieked in pain as it was bashed, again and again into the metal door. There was a death rattle and then silence.

“T-teal,” Everett whimpered, “Please. Teal answer me.”

The door handle slowly turned and opened. Teal was there, his collar hanging limply in his bloody jaws. His opponent, one of the black raptors, lay still on the concrete floor with a bashed in head. One of its red eyes was still open and staring blanking at the Dog. Teal softly looked at the Dog and nuzzled him, his arms pulling Everett into his neck.

“A-are you sure you’re there Teal?” Everett asked, “You won’t h-hurt me will you?”

Teal nuzzled the Dog again and offered his neck for support. The Jack Russell Terrier smiled and started hobbling down the last couple flights of stairs. Teal watched Everett like a hawk, huffing in worry each time the Dog let out a quiet whimper of pain. They finally made it to the last door, the one that led to the loading bay in the back of the building. Teal opened the door slightly and, after making sure the coast was clear, helped the Jack Russell Terrier outside.

Aside from the odd scream or screech, the park was strangely quiet. Everett looked around and closed his eyes before burying his head into Teal’s chest. There were bodies everywhere, fringed by scavengers eager to get at the hordes of dead tourists. Teal cooed quietly and led the Dog to a map. He touched the Dog’s paw with his snout and then touched the map. Everett took a deep breath and examined the map.

“We need to go here,” Everett pointed at the closest first aide hut, “I need to patch us up. Otherwise I won’t make it much further.”

Teal nodded and gestured towards his back. Everett looked dumbfounded at the Raptor, not sure what exactly Teal meant. With an exasperated growl, Teal slapped the small of his back with his tail and pantomimed running. Everett blinked and slowly nodded. He had never mounted anything before, let alone a raptor. After a moment’s thought, the Dog climbed up onto Teal’s back and held on tight.

“Ok,” Everett took a deep breath, “Let’s go.”

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Night had fallen by the time Everett and Teal had reached a structurally intact first aid station. Luckily for them it was the closest station to the research zone and, with the exception of one tourist getting snacked on by a Rauisuchus, had nothing dangerous in the vicinity. Teal and Everett sat in nearly total darkness. The Dog had dressed and bandaged his wound and was now fixing Teal’s collar.

“There,” Everett smiled and held it up, “Good as new.”

Teal huffed and shook his head.

“What?” Everett asked, “Don’t you miss talking.”

Teal whimpered and bowed his head, allowing the Dog to put the collar back on. A few moments later, Teal lifted his head up and surveyed the room.

“D-do you not like me when I can’t talk?” Teal asked, “I am a being just like you Everett, this computer around my neck isn’t who I am.”

Teal whined.

“I know things were crazy the night the park fell,” Teal continued, “But you saying my personality, “The thing that made me me” was only the computer, hurt me so bad. All that thing does is make me more, agreeable.”

Teal glared at the Dog.

“I can control myself just fine without it,” Teal snarled, “And you know I would never hurt you or anyone, unless something was going very very wrong.”

“I’m sorry Teal,” Everett replied, “It’s just, the computer mellows you out. I don’t want you to go all crazy again.”

“Crazy,” Teal scoffed, “You know damn well that’s not the kind of Raptor I am.”

“I know,” Everett whined softly, “I’m just scared is all. Can you blame me, after what you did?”

Teal glared at the Dog for a few seconds and slowly pulled the collar off of his neck. Everett flinched and closed his eyes, looking away from the Raptor. The next thing the Jack Russell Terrier felt was warm breath on his neck, followed by the feeling of rough scales rubbing against the soft fur on his neck. Slowly, Everett opened his eyes and whined. Now that he wasn’t running away, he was able to examine the ragged gashes on the Raptor’s back and sides.

“Teal,” Everett gasped, “I need to treat these wounds.”

The Raptor stiffened and nuzzled the Dog again, huffing softly. Everett smiled and gently stroked the Raptors headfeathers. They weren’t like bird feathers, but were softer and more densely packed.

“Can I put the collar back on?” Everett asked, “I have some things I need to ask you.”

Teal nodded and bowed his head. Everett refastened the collar around Teal’s neck, his paws examining his scales as he did. Teal purred softly and pressed his head into the Dog’s chest.

“Keep doing that,” Teal said softly, “I haven’t had anyone touch me like this before.”

Everett chuckled softly and starting rubbing the length of the dinosaur’s neck.

“How are you doing that?” Everett asked, “I thought without the collar you went, well, savage.”

Teal chirred softly, his feathers standing straight up as Everett scratched his chin. Everett giggled quietly and embraced the Raptor.

“The collar helped, but obviously it’s a bit unwieldy. There’s no way I can have it on all the time,” Teal began, “So I learned to control myself, rein in my emotions and instincts, just like you can. It was the computer chip that caused that. The computer chip made me, well, destroy, kill. The only reason you didn’t die was well, I’m attracted to you.”

Teal pointed at the bloody wound on the side of his head.

“Alice, my creator, was able to hijack my brain,” Teal sighed, “She wanted me to help in the park’s destruction. I would have too, I would have finished with you, killed Sam, killed a lot of people. Sam stopped it though, now she thinks I’m dead. She has no way of tracking me.”

Everett paused to take in what the Raptor had said.

“So, before,” Everett asked, “You said you couldn’t remember anything when the collar was off. Was that a lie?”

Teal whined quietly.

“I lied to save my skin,” Teal replied, “I was there, but I couldn’t stop it. If Sam knew I remembered, remembered how much the primal side of me enjoyed it, he wouldn’t have been merciful.”

“But you tried,” Everett asked, “Right Teal?”

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want you,” Teal nuzzled the Dog’s cheek, “But I didn’t want you like that. I fought with every fiber of my being, but I couldn’t overcome the chip.”

“How,” The Dog took a deep breath, “How would you want me?”

“Well,” Teal hung his head, “I’d want you moaning for me. I’d want it to feel good for you, and for you to know just how much I adore you.”

There was a loud roar outside, someone or something had interfered with the Rauisuchus’s meal. Everett flinched and moved in closer to the Dinosaur.

“What are we going to do Teal?” The Dog said softly, “I’m so scared.”

Teal stiffened.

“We’re going to stay here and be quiet,” Teal began, “There’s more of those black raptors outside.”

The Jack Russell Terrier fell silent and got closer to Teal. With a growl, Teal laid on the floor, curling his body protectively around the Dog. The pair sat in silence, listening as the creatures outside hunted for anything still breathing. After what seemed like an eternity, Everett quietly cleared his throat.

“Is it safe?” The Jack Russell Terrier asked, “Are they gone?”

Teal sniffed the air and bared his teeth.

“There’s danger everywhere,” Teal began, “We’re going to have to wait.”

“How long,” Everett asked, “I’m sure Sam is already at the research zone.”

“I don’t know,” Teal cooed softly, “You should get some rest though. You’re going to need it.”

The Dog whined.

“Not before I treat your wounds,” Everett replied, “Just lay there. I’m going to go and get supplies.”

Teal nodded and took off his collar. His wounds, a series of scratches along his side and back and a bite on the neck, still oozed blood. They would scar for sure. His calm, yellow eyes watched the Jack Russell Terrier as he stripped down. The Dog must have been worried about getting blood on his clothes. Everett walked back over a short while later with an armful of assorted first aid supplies.

“I couldn’t find any sutures,” Everett sighed, “So I’m just going to clean and bandage your wounds.”

He looked down at the Dinosaur, and noticed his eyes looking over the mostly naked Dog in front of him. Teal purred and practically smirked at the sight.

“Oh my god,” Everett chuckled, “It’s not like that, it’s just hot in here.”

Teal huffed and shook his head. The Dog chuckled and cracked a smile as he opened the bottle of rubbing alcohol. He couldn’t believe that Teal could control himself without the collar. It seemed so weird that a wild animal, an apex predator, could let a Dog like Everett sit so close. The Raptor purred and moved his head to the Dog’s neck, tenderly licking it.

Everett froze and murred quietly as the Raptor shifted towards him, the long claws scraping on the floor as he put his bulk against the Dog. The Jack Russell Terrier whimpered, was this really going to happen again.

“T-teal,” Everett began, “I need to treat your wounds. Please, just be still.”

Teal huffed and pulled back, looking at the Dog in the eyes. He cooed and started to kiss and nibble down Everett’s neck, his head feathers erecting at the sound of Everett’s breathy moans. He hadn’t been injured by the events of the previous week, and hadn’t had any contact like this in months. At first, his body crawled at the thought of laying with a creature, but Teal was different. He could speak, he could reason, he was sentient. There surely couldn’t be that much wrong with following this to its logical conclusion. The front of his patterned powder blue briefs tightened and he spread his legs a bit.

“Teal,” Everett whimpered, “You need to promise me something.”

The Dog couldn’t believe he was considering this, but there was a very good chance that he would die in the next couple of days. Teal liked, no, loved him and having a good memory like that would make facing death a little bit easier. Sam wouldn’t have to know, this could just be a secret between Teal and himself.

“You’ve got to be gentle,” Everett said quietly, “Okay? You could hurt me Teal.”

Teal grumbled, now moving his hands to the Jack Russell Terrier’s trim tummy and teasing the thin layer of muscle there with his claws. Everett whimpered and reach down to remove his underwear, but Teal hissed.

“W-we should really take care of those cuts,” The Dog whimpered, “We can do this, you just need to wait.”

Teal looked Everett dead in the eye and growled. It looked like he was the one that was going to have to wait. The Raptor waited a few moments, and once he was positive the Jack Russell Terrier wouldn’t move, moved his head down between the Dog’s thighs. Everett moaned quietly as Teal’s warm breath teased his crotch. Everett looked up at the main chair, where the patients would sit.

“Teal,” Everett began, “Wait there.”

Teal growled and sat up, his eyes carefully watching the Dog as he sat down onto the chair. Everett blushed and got into position, lining his body up so his rump rested on the edge of the chair. Any thoughts of the repercussions of what was going to happen left the Dog’s mind as he slid his underwear down to his ankles. The Raptor licked his lips and walked over to the Dog, his long talons clicking on the floor with each step.

“I know you’re familiar with this position,” The Dog meeped as Teal climbed on top of him, “You’ve got to be gentle though. Maybe I could suck you?”

Teal cocked his head.

“Okay,” Everett chuckled as he got down on his knees, “I um, sorry, I shouldn’t have moved yet. I’m a little bit nervous.”

The Dinosaur cooed softly and tenderly rubbed the top of the Dog’s head. Everett bent his head down under the Raptor’s belly and purred. The purple head of Teal’s cock already peaked from the Raptor’s slit. Now that he was down here of his own free will, Everett was able to take the time to examine it, and tease the Raptor’s tender opening with a gentle finger.

“How did you hold all that cock in this little thing?” Everett blushed as he started to stroke over Teal’s hardening length, “Does this feel good Teal?”

Teal purred as his full length emerged. Everett’s eyes went wide and he took the ridged purple monstrosity with both hands. How did this cock even fit in him last week? The Raptor clicked his talons and huffed impatiently.

“Okay,” Everett chuckled, “Just give me a second.”

Teal growled, but shut up when the Jack Russell Terrier started to kiss over the head of his large cock. Everett chuckled and teased the opening of the Raptor’s cock with his tongue, making Teal shift his weight from side to side and growl lowly. The taste was unlike any male Everett had been with before, it was like an exotic fruit, one that few, if any had tasted before.

The Raptor tensed and purred again as Everett took as much of the Raptor’s spire into his mouth as he could. Teal’s talons clicked excitedly and his hips twitched, eager to ram himself into the Dog’s throat. Everett picked up on this and pulled back, giving the Raptor a series of kisses and licks on the base of his cock.

“There’s only so much I can do down here,” The Jack Russell blushed as he licked his way back up to the tip, “Do you want me back on the chair?”

With a loud growl, Teal struck the chair with his chin. One didn’t need words to understand what the Raptor wanted. Everett blushed and took his position, grunting as the impatient Dinosaur lifted his torso on top of him again, his cock teasing the Dog’s inner thigh.

“Remember,” Everett huffed as Teal’s tip teased his hole, “Gentle.”

With a blush, Everett kissed over the side of the Raptor’s head until his lips hovered over his ear.

“Show me Teal,” Everett continued, “Show me how much you love me.”

Teal froze and purred, tenderly nuzzling the Dog’s cheek and neck. With a little grunt of pleasure, he entered the Dog, sliding into him like a warm knife through butter. Everett moaned quietly and held Teal tightly. This almost didn’t feel real. The Raptor looked down at the Dog and chirred softly, stopping his penetration momentarily at each sign of discomfort. Teal licked the Dog’s lips once his cock was fully inside the Dog.

“Y yeah,” Everett bit back a loud moan, they had to be quiet, no matter how much he wanted to scream in pleasure, “Just go slow.”

The Raptor cooed softly as he slowly pulled back, making Everett whimper and whine in pleasure. Once he was nearly all the way out, he thrust back in, making the Dog grip him tightly. Teal murred and went a little faster, making shallower thrusts. The deep ones would come soon enough, and this Dog would know just how good Teal could be.

As the pace increased, the slits of Teal’s pupils constricted and he started to pant, a bead of drool leaking out of his mouth and onto the Dog’s bare chest. This sort of thing would have grossed the Jack Russell Terrier out, but right now, with 13 inches of hard Raptor cock rubbing up against erogenous zones that the Dog didn’t even know he had, he could care less.

“Mmm, oh Teal,” Everett held onto the Raptor’s neck as Teal leaned down to drive his cock into the Dog faster, “I’m really close.”

Teal growled. Obviously the Raptor wasn’t.

“Don’t worry,” Everett kissed the side of the Raptor’s neck, “I won’t stop you.”

Teal purred and continued to thrust, rolling his hips fast and hard enough now to slap his crotch against the Dog’s soft rump. Everett held on tight, his paws gripping the Raptor’s neck even tighter as he came, hard, with a quiet moan. Teal thrust in all the way and stopped, purring at the feeling of the Dog’s insides rhythmically clenching with each spurt of the canine’s seed.

The Raptor stayed deep, going even faster. For what seemed like hours, Teal kept up this pace, breeding the moaning and panting Dog beneath him with every bit of his bestial strength. Suddenly, Teal stopped, his eyes going wide and let out a roar as he flooded the Dog with cum. Hot Raptor seed leaked out around his cock, soaking the floor, chair, and Everett’s legs with his essence.

They lay together for a long time, exchanging nuzzles and tender kisses as they both rode out their afterglow. Everett whined as the Raptor pulled out, adding even more cum to the mess already on the floor. Teal bent down and gave the Dog’s messy hole a few tender licks before collecting the collar and fastening it around his neck.

“What did we just do?” Teal cooed and hung his head, “I just betrayed Sam again. I betrayed you again.”

Everett sighed.

“Given the situation,” Everett sat up with a quiet whine, “I think he’d understand, but I want this to be our secret okay. This was just two males, scared and trying to have one last good moment before they died.”

A Raptor screeched outside and Everett mentally swore. Someone had to have heard Teal’s climax. Teal ran forward with a growl and stood over the Dog, protecting him from whatever made the noise.

“They’re outside Teal,” Everett began, “And the door is locked.”

“But you smell like a Raptor,” Teal cooed and nuzzled the Dog’s cheek, “If they get at you, what I did to you in the hotel room would seem like a peck on the cheek. They’ll kill you so horribly.”

Teal growled and started at the door.

“We won’t be able to keep this a secret from Sam,” Teal continued, “He knows far too much about my species. Hell, he’s an expert on everything on this damn island.”

“What do you mean?” Everett asked, “What is it Teal?”

The Raptor huffed and hung his head.

“I should have told you before,” Teal replied, “Raptor’s mate for life. What happened last week started something and what we just did finalized it, our bond, a bond that can only be broken by death or permanent separation.”

Teal growled.

“The first one won’t happen on my watch,” Teal continued, “And the second won’t happen until we get rescued.”

“So what does the bond mean?” Everett asked, “How would he tell?”

If Teal could blush, he would have.

“Well,” Teal began, “I’m going to have to wear the collar a lot more. I’ll be a lot more affectionate without it. I’ll be a lot closer to you, and much more in tune with my surroundings.”

Teal nudged the Dog with his tail.

“Female Raptors tend to be smaller, which means males,” Teal posed, “Like me, feel the urge to protect them. Seeing as you’re even smaller, I’m going to be even more protective.”

Everett sighed.

“So I should just tell him,” Everett rubbed his head and sighed, “Fuck, hopefully he’ll understand.”

“You know I think Sam still has his satellite phone,” Teal nudged the Dog’s paw and pointed towards a black and yellow mobile phone, “Maybe you could reach him.”

The Dog sighed.

“His number is 709-185-9210,” Teal continued, “Just do it. You’ll thank yourself for it later.”

Everett took a deep breath and dialed the number. The phone rang, and Teal and Everett fell silent.

“Hello?” Sam asked, “Who is this? How did you get this number?”

“Hey Sam,” Everett played with his ear, “It’s Everett.”

“Everett,” Sam gasped joyfully, “Oh my god you’re alive. Why aren’t you guys here?”

“We got sidetracked,” Everett began, “Got some injuries, and, well, something else happened. Something Teal and I, no just I, did.”

“Oh,” Sam paused for a moment, “You didn’t do that did you? You didn’t do something that stupid right.”

Everett whimpered.

“We did,” The Jack Russell Terrier began, “He didn’t hurt me Sam.”

Sam practically snarled.

“How could you be so selfish?” Sam asked, “You know what that means to Teal right? You aren’t leaving him for me, I know that much for a fact.”

“No,” Everett flinched as Teal’s eyes went wide and his head lowered, “I’m not Sam.”

“I understand, even if you cheated,” Sam took a deep breath, “Having a Raptor looking after you like a mate may be the only thing that keeps you alive. I hope you realize what you’ve done to him though. You’re going to break his heart, things between the two of you will never be normal ever again. At least he was able to rationalize that raping you didn’t make you his mate, but now.”

Sam sighed.

“Now you get to explain to him why you won’t be his,” Sam continued, “It’s going to devastate him.”

“I know,” Everett sighed, “He filled me in.”

“Look,” Sam began, “We are talking the second we get a quiet moment. This is serious.”

Sam scoffed.

“And you were worried that I was one of those guys, someone who would just use you and break your heart,” Sam continued, “Just get here in one piece. Sam out.”

Everett whimpered and let the phone fall to the ground with a clatter. Without a word, the Dog stood up and collected the first aide supplies.

“Please leave the collar on for this,” Everett said quietly as he approached the Raptor, “I need you to be as specific as possible.”

“It wouldn’t matter,” Teal looked up at the Dog, “I’d never hurt you.”

The Dog started to clean the Raptor’s wounds, starting with the gash on his head. Teal hissed and stood as still as possible, the light on his collar flickering on and off as the pain overloaded the computer. Everett nuzzled the Raptor as he finished cleaning it.

“Just breathe,” Everett began, “This will probably be the worst.”

As he wrapped a bandage around the back of the Raptor’s head, Everett let out a sigh. He was hopeless when it came to patching up a dinosaur, and without sutures, these wounds would leave very nasty scars.

“You’re doing beautifully,” Teal hissed and bared his teeth as the Dog started to clean his bite wounds, “I’m sorry. I won’t snap.”

Everett hesitated for a second and planted a soft kiss in between Teal’s eyes. The Raptor relaxed, giving the Dog a golden opportunity to finish up the bandage on Teal’s neck.

“These gashes are going to hurt,” Everett sighed, “Maybe you should lie down for me.”

Teal whimpered and did as he was told, keeping the injured side in front of the Jack Russell Terrier. Everett worked as gentle and fast as he could, flinching with each hiss and snarl Teal made. A half hour later, Everett whimpered and lay down beside the Raptor.

“All done,” Everett took a deep breath, “Fuck I’m tired.”

“Sleep,” Teal licked the Dog gently, “I’ll watch over you.”

Everett nodded and curled up beside the Raptor. Teal shed the collar and curled protectively around the only one he had ever mated, the only one he had ever loved. With a low sigh, he rested his head on top of the Dog. Nothing was going to hurt Everett tonight.
