A Strange Drug
Two friends find out that taking strange substances can lead to some very interesting places.
A gust of wind howled through the rustling leaves as the two wolves approached the modest brick house. It was a town-home, one of the many that lined the boulevard--squashed together as if the developer had been trying to fit as many in a single row as he could. Even so, the pointed roof and upstairs window seemed to tower over the younger of the two wolves like a foreboding sentinel, and for a moment, the white wolf stared upwards and shivered against the cold, adjusting the strap of his green backpack against his shoulder.
"C'mon, this is me."
The crystal-blue eyes blinked and returned to the older wolf who had already begun to ascend the steps. Collin still couldn't believe that out of all the other kids in their class, Jace had picked him as a friend. Ever since he could remember, Collin had been the target of scorn amongst his peers. Maybe it was his pure white coat; quite unusual for a wolf, especially in this town; or perhaps it was his diminutive size. Even at 15 the white wolf barely made five feet. (And that was with shoes on, stretching upwards against the measuring stick so that he was almost on his toes.) The rest of his classmates, of his own species anyways, were all around six. Jace was even taller. At six foot 4 inches he seemed to be just a bit higher than all the rest of the students. Only a couple were taller but they were of the equine persuasion and that was to be expected.
Jace was something else. All the other students seemed to like him, even though he wasn't what one would call one of the 'popular crowd'. Perhaps it was because he was so handsome. Jace was the son of a well-to-do wolf lawyer and had an extremely attractive gray-black fox for a mom. It wasn't a mystery where his good genetics came from. Because of his mother, the gray wolf had black fur on his hands and his feet and handsome black markings about his muzzle. On top of all that, his eyes were a cool, piercing hazel that seemed to change colors based on mood. Not that Jace displayed a wide range of moods at school. He was mostly silent, adding to his mystery, and only really spoke when spoken to. Then there was his voice...
Jace paused as he grasped the doorknob and turned to see his little friend still standing at the bottom of the steps, staring at him like a lost lamb. This prompted a sly grin which shocked the freshman from his musings and caused him to avert his gaze, blushing a little.
"Are you coming or not?"
"Um... Yeah, yeah, of course. Sorry..."
Jace chuckled and turned back to the door, pulling it wide before sauntering into the house, throwing his heavy book-bag on one of the couches like one tosses a bag of garbage. Collin, still a little embarrassed at having been caught staring, followed after, gingerly shutting the door behind him and carefully placing his bag next to Jace's. To Collin, Jace was one of the "cool kids" and the white wolf still couldn't believe that he had even sat next to him at lunch, much less talked to him--even inviting him to his house!
"Make yourself at home."
Jace had already found his way into the kitchen, leaving his new friend to survey his surroundings. Although the town-home looked small from the outside, the inside was spacious and well decorated. Everything about it suggested a comfortable, upper-middle-class lifestyle. Much different than the basic, cheap-rent houses that Collin was used to. There were carved, mahogany end-tables with marble tops that held vases; muted, yet interesting, original paintings hung in just the right places; and the largest flat-screen TV Collin had ever seen in his life.
The white wolf turned to face the onyx behemoth. It was just about as big as his bed at home.
"Wanna beer?"
Collin jumped, his fur bristling as Jace laughed at his startled friend.
"Sorry about that. I get told all the time to stop sneaking up on people but I can't help it. I'm quiet when I walk. My mom is too. It's a wonder my dad hasn't dropped dead of a heart attack by now."
A cold amber bottle was thrust into Collin's paws before he even had a chance to register what Jace had just said. The cap had already been removed and the freshman wolf got his first whiff of the nutty and somewhat sour aroma of pale ale.
"Umm... I dunno..."
A large paw clapped Collin on the back and ushered him towards the dining room table.
"It's okay! It's fine. Don't worry about it," assured the taller wolf with uncharacteristic flair, "my parents won't be home for the next couple days and dad'll never notice them missing. Mom does the shopping and it's not like he counts them."
Jace took a swig of his own brew and wiped his muzzle with the back of his arm. He looked like he did this all the time and it didn't seem to be a big deal to him. Still, Collin had never tasted alcohol before and something about it seemed wrong. The young wolf half expected his own parents to jump out from behind the grandfather clock the second he took a sip.
Hazel eyes watched intently as the white wolf stared down at his bottle as if it were some ancient, deadly potion.
Jace grinned.
"C'mon. It's only beer. You'll barely notice the alcohol. It'll help you relax."
Colin looked up at Jace with uncertainty, causing the older wolf to laugh.
"I'm serious! It's totally fine. I do this all the time. Dad is too buried in work; even at home, to notice something as small as a couple missing brews. Besides, even if he did, they basically let me do whatever I want."
That much was beginning to become apparent to Collin as he tentatively lifted the bottle to his lips and took his first sip.
The white wolf's eyes widened as a rush of flavor and fizz danced across his tongue. It was amazing! A moment later, he had tipped back the bottle and begun to chug, much to the bemusement of his older friend who began to crack up, finally reaching over to lower the bottom of the bottle a bit.
"Whoa! Whoa there, take it easy! The night is young."
Jace laughed and took another sip of his own as Collin wiped at his muzzle with the back of his arm, imitating what he had seen earlier. The grey wolf grinned and decided to catch up with his younger companion, downing the rest of his bottle in a few powerful gulps. Collin was quite impressed.
Letting out a refreshing sigh, Jace admired his empty bottle before motioning for Collin to sit across from him. The table was small. Just large enough for four to sit around and have a small meal, but with the lifestyle of Jace's parents it seemed unlikely that the family ever met for formal meals.
Collin had a seat, uncertain of what was going to happen next. He had always been jeered at and called "runt" or silly names like "little snow puff." He'd never actually been invited over to a friend's house before because he hadn't ever really had much in the way of friends to begin with. The beer, however, which had magically disappeared, was beginning to make him feel a little warm. And Jace was right. Slowly but surely the white wolf felt his tension and anxiety begin to melt away into a feeling of calm relaxation.
Collin looked down at his bottle with a curious stare. So this is why the adults drink this stuff all the time. He could see why. Did Jace know that he was nervous? Had his anxiety been so apparent that Jace had given him a beer to calm him down on purpose?
"I see you're starting to appreciate your adult beverage," teased Jace.
Collin only grinned and set the empty bottle in the table in front of him.
"Goodness... I sometimes forget that..."
Jace stopped himself but Collin knew what he was going to say. The white wolf was small. There was no getting around it. And from what he knew from gossip, the smaller you were, the more effect alcohol would have on you.
"In any case," Jace began, quickly changing the subject, "I thought you could use a little bit of relaxation. I know that the other kids haven't exactly been kind to you. But you shouldn't listen to them. They're just jealous and insecure."
Collin blinked and looked up.
"Jealous?"
What on earth could they be jealous of? Collin didn't have anything to offer. He was just a runt with a target on his back. Never once had he considered himself to have any qualities someone else could be jealous of.
"Yeah..." Jace turned his gaze down to his empty bottle which he twirled about on the edge of the table. "Jealous."
"Of... of what?" Jace smiled and looked back up at Collin. "Of your cute face."
It took Collin a few moments to realize that Jace was messing with him and the young wolf laughed and snorted, a sound which set Jace off as well.
"Fuck you!"
The alcohol was giving Collin courage he never knew he had. Enough so that he could swear at his new friend in a teasing manner. Another first. Jace seemed to enjoy the jab, however, and for the first time in his life Collin began to feel a sense of camaraderie.
"You wish," teased the older wolf with a wink before suddenly rising from the table and collecting the bottles.
"Would you like another?"
The gray wolf was on his way to discard the bottles in the recycling bin but had paused to look over his shoulder and ask.
Collin's eyes widened a bit at the though and Jace began to crack up even more.
"Man, you slay me..."
Two bottles clinked as they joined their empty cousins in a plastic bin. The refrigerator door opened once more and two more bottles lost their tops before Jace returned to the table.
This was the quiet, mysterious wolf that barely interacted with people at school? Collin couldn't believe it. He was so much more open at home. More friendly. Animated.
Another bottle appeared before the freshman wolf but Jace didn't let go of it just yet.
"Now this one you have to sip, okay? No chugging it like the last one."
Collin nodded and greedily accepted the amber bottle, eliciting another grin from his companion.
"Geeze... You really like this stuff."
"Don't you?" mumbled Collin from around the lip of his bottle. It was a stupid question, he knew, but he wasn't really censoring himself like he usually might.
"Fair enough," Jace admitted as he tapped his bottle against Collins and took a drink. The act made Collin's heart jump a little but he didn't know why. Perhaps now, it was official. Something about his first "toast" with a buddy made the fact that he actually had a friend, someone who liked him enough to share with him in this way, a reality.
"So..."
Collin looked up from his bottle and into Jace's hazel eyes, awaiting whatever question his new friend was going to ask.
"Got any girls you're into?"
Guy talk! Collin almost felt giddy. Had it not been for the alcohol, he would have been chiding himself for how pathetic it was that such simple things were making him so happy. But in this moment, he didn't care. He was enjoying himself and wasn't going to let any negativity nor anxiety interfere with it. But then it came time to actually answer the question and that gave Collin pause.
"Hmmm."
Jace waited patiently, an impish look in his eyes. Something about his gaze made Collin begin to feel self-conscious. As if the older wolf was studying him.
"I... Uh... I dunno. I guess I find a couple of them attractive. But, I doubt they'd ever talk to me."
The truth seemed to slip out so easily now after one and a half bottles.
"Oh, I doubt that! Have you ever tried to talk to them? Sometimes, you gotta make the first move."
"Me?!"
Collin seemed genuinely surprised, as if making the first move was some sort of alien technology he had never explored before.
Jace chuckled.
"Yes you."
"They'd just laugh at me. Or ridicule me."
Jace looked off into the distance for a moment before responding. "Yes, that's true. It'll probably happen. More than once..."
Collin's ears drooped as the crestfallen wolf's fears were confirmed.
"But it's worth it if even one says yes. You never know if you don't try."
Collin nodded slowly.
"After all, I asked you out, didn't I?"
Collin's head jerked upright, taking another second to see the hint of a smirk hiding behind his friend's poker face and the younger wolf began to laugh.
"Fuck you."
"You keep saying that and I'll think you actually mean it!"
"Likewise."
Jace laughed and tilted his bottle towards Collin in a gesture which meant Collin won that round and the young wolf began to feel better about himself.
"Seriously though," continued Jace, "Don't feel bad about it. It is a fear we all have. Approaching someone is always a risk."
Collin nodded and took another sip. His bottle was almost empty but a question was beginning to take form in his mind and before he could stop it, it just slipped out of his mouth like an escaped convict. "Have you ever, you know..."
Jace tilted his head to one side in amusement. He knew the question but he was feeling mischievous and wanted to force his friend to say it.
"Have I ever?..."
"Well..." Collin shifted in his seat. It was too late to backtrack now and anything other than what he was going to ask would seem transparent or stupid. "You know..."
"I really don't," lied the older wolf, feigning ignorance and trying his best not to let his amusement show.
"Well... Have... You know what I'm talking about!"
Those last words Collin very nearly shouted and the unintended volume increase caused the white wolf to involuntarily cover his mouth and sit back in his chair, looking around the room. His parents did not pop out from behind the stairs but his friend did double over and begin to laugh out loud, nearly falling out of his chair.
"Dude, I've gotta get you tipsy more often!"
Jace tried to catch his breath while Collin blushed.
"Oh man... Jesus..."
Jace polished off the rest of his brew and tossed the bottle haphazardly over his right shoulder, eyes fixed on Collin's expression of horror.
The young wolf started, as if he could somehow launch from his seat and catch the bottle before it shattered into a million pieces on the floor but the table restrained him and instead he watched helplessly as the bottle...
Ca-tink!
Jace broke out into a wide, toothy grin as Collin blinked. Without even looking, Jace had managed to land his empty bottle in the recycle bin without so much as a single crack. No explosion. No mess, save for a few errant drops of beer on the kitchen floor and counter.
Collin just gaped while his older friend beamed, happy with his audience's reaction. Unknown to Collin, Jace had been practicing that for some time, much to the chagrin of his mother.
"You were saying?" asked Jace, pretending like what had happened was no big deal.
"You... Just... um..."
Jace chuckled. "Oh, you mean sex?"
That word snapped Collin back to the present and the white wolf looked down and to the side with embarrassment.
"No, it's okay. We're both guys here, right?"
Jace leaned across the table and clapped Collin on the shoulder as he said this and Collin nodded, smiling and feeling a little reassured as he returned his gaze to his friend.
Yes, they were both guys. This is guy talk. Stuff guys talk about all the time! Nothing to be embarrassed about.
Jace pondered for a moment then nodded. "Once."
Collin's eyes widened.
"Maybe twice. Ten times?"
Collin laughed tentatively, not sure if Jace was joking.
"You serious? With who?"
"Nobody from our school. She was someone I had met on summer vacation."
"Really? What was she like?"
Jace grinned then furrowed his brow as if trying to remember.
"She was tall..."
Collin nodded, on the edge of his seat.
"And had a big scruffy beard..."
Collin almost spit out the last of his beer.
"C'mon!"
Jace laughed. "All right! All right!"
"Tell me for real. What was it like?"
"So you're saying you're a virgin?"
Realizing that he had just outed himself, Collin turned a deep shade of red.
Jace grinned. "It's okay. A lot of the other students who tell stories at school are full of shit. They're virgins too. They just don't want anyone to know."
Collin looked up, eyes hopeful.
"You think so?"
"Probably."
Collin frowned and Jace cracked up again.
"C'mon man, don't take it so serious! You wanna know what it was like, right?"
Collin nodded, allowing this distraction for now.
"Well, her fur was so soft, and her breasts... she had the most beautiful breasts."
The younger wolf swallowed hard, shifting a bit in his seat.
"What I remember most was the feeling of her tongue against mine; so soft as we kissed and her hand wrapping around my cock and the feeling as she slowly lowered herself onto me..."
Collin choked and coughed.
"If you need some water, it's right over there," offered Jace with a grin. Collin started to rise from his seat, but stopped half-way and promptly sat down.
"No? Want me to get it?"
Collin nodded and Jace rose to his feet to fetch his friend a glass of water. When the cup arrived, the white wolf accepted it gratefully and sipped. Meanwhile, Jace was trying hard not to come up with other reasons to get Collin up out of his seat, knowing that his friend was trying to hide the current condition of his pants.
"Do you want me to continue?" offered Jace.
Collin quickly shook his head no.
"That's... that's okay. I'm good."
"Are you sure? Because I tell you what; there is nothing like the feeling of something so hot and moist slowly--"
"NO THANKS I'M FINE!"
Jace chuckled and raised both paws in defeat.
"Alright! Alright! I'm just messing with ya."
There was a brief pause but Jace couldn't help himself.
Wanna go play a video game?
"I... Uh... I'm good. Right here... for now."
"Are you sure?" asked Jace, leaning closer across the table. "I've got some good ones. They're kinda hard though. How are you with a joystick?"
Collin swallowed and looked away, unsure of how to reply.
Jace grinned and reclined, seeing that perhaps he was going too far in teasing a friend he'd only had over once.
"I'm just messing with you. To tell you the truth, I have something else I was wanting to show you."
Collin could tell that Jace was being serious this time, but he was still in an embarrassing position and didn't want to get up.
"Well, I don't really wanna..."
"It's okay! You don't have to get up."
Collin heaved a sigh of relief but that relief was cut short as Jace moved into the chair adjacent to him.
"I know you're sporting a raging tent right now, Collin, but it's cool. We're both guys here, right? You don't have to worry about it. Happens all the time. Especially in the locker room."
Collin didn't know what to make of that last bit, but the rest of the comment calmed him down.
"This isn't school. We're both buds." Jace punctuated the fact by placing a paw on Collin's shoulder and giving it a squeeze. "Nobody's going to ridicule you here."
Collin allowed himself a small, genuine smile.
"So, what is it you wanted to show me?"
"Right! Just one sec."
Jace got up and leaned to one side, rummaging around in his pants pocket until he found what he was looking for and tossed onto the table a small, wadded up piece of aluminum foil.
"What's that?"
Collin stared down at the admittedly unimpressive object. He was expecting something a bit more interesting than a wadded up piece of trash.
"Exactly."
Collin didn't follow, and seeing his friend's confusion, Jace leaned forward and began to unwrap the foil. Inside was a white mass that seemed to have the consistency of sticky taffy and as soon as it was exposed to the air, the whole room was filled with it's strange, heady aroma.
"Whoa..." Collin reeled backwards, covering his nose as his head swam. "What the hell is that?"
Jace blinked a couple of times, trying to focus as the scent of the foreign substance made him feel a little dizzy.
"I'm not exactly sure."
"What do you mean you're not sure?"
"I mean, I don't know! It was being handed out at school the other day in the locker room. By some kid who had just joined up. He said it was supposed to be something that made you feel really good."
Collins eyes widened and he shook his head no, raising his paws and brushing the idea away.
"No. No... I mean, I'm okay with the beer, but drugs? I dunno. I don't feel comfortable with that."
"No, No! It's cool, man. I didn't say we had to take any, did I? I was just showing you."
Collin nodded and relaxed a little. It was true. Jace had only said he was going to show him. It was only assumption that made him think he was going to have to take any. And so with a little more courage he asked the burning question:
"What is it supposed to do?"
"Beyond feel good? I dunno. He didn't really explain it much. Only how to prepare it."
"You don't have to... use a needle... do you?"
"Hell no!" Jace grinned. "This isn't a heroin den. Nobody is shooting up anything in this house."
Collin heaved a sigh of relief. Not that he was planning on taking any, but it just made it seem less... illegal and bad if it was just some random substance you ate. But then again, was it legal?
"Um... is it illegal?"
Jace pondered for a bit before answering. "No, I don't think it is. The kid said that the government didn't even know it existed and so there is no way there could be any laws against it."
"Is it... dangerous?"
"I had asked about that too. He said that there is no possibility of overdosing on it because it'll make you sick and throw up before you can take too much."
"I bet. Just the smell alone..."
Jace grinned and gently shook his friend by the shoulder.
"Yeah, it is a bit pungent isn't it? Are you sure you don't want any?"
"Hell no!"
Jace laughed and folded the foil back into a ball.
The two wolves did end up playing video games as the evening progressed. Jace was right, they were pretty difficult, especially for someone who didn't have any gaming systems of their own. Collin could tell that Jace was trying to hold back but even so, he would end up beating his little friend over and over, no matter what game they were playing. So in the end, they decided to give it up for something else. Channel surfing didn't reveal anything interesting. Just the usual BS that studios thought people wanted yet no one with half a brain ever watched. Even though the size of the TV was mesmerizing to Collin, the content that seemed to come through it was not. Eventually, the two found themselves sitting on the couch with the TV turned off and with nothing to do.
"So..." began Jace, "Anything you can think of that you wanna do?"
Collin shook his head no. He had never been in this sort of scenario before so he was the last person that should be asked that question; and really, deep down Jace knew this and wasn't expecting much of an answer.
"We could always order pizza and watch a movie," offered the older wolf.
"Pizza sounds good! But I can't think of any movie that I'd want to see."
Jace pondered this for a moment.
"Well, we'll order pizza and think of things to do in the meantime."
"Sounds good!"
Jace removed his smartphone and put in an order while Collin stretched and reclined on the couch. The alcohol had long since worn off and along with it the courage and relaxation that Collin had come to enjoy. Now, every little thing made him nervous. Such as the proximity of Jace's leg to his own. He could feel the warmth. How close they had been sitting to each other. The occasional jab and teasing. Being a single child Collin hadn't experienced this much closeness with anyone. And then there was that ever-present aroma from the dining room table.
Jace looked up from his phone and traced Collin's gaze to the table and smiled.
"You can even smell it from over here too, huh?"
Collin nodded.
"You know, we could always try it out."
Jace looked sidelong at Collin.
"Who knows? It could be fun."
"I dunno..."
Collin did want to feel good, like he did earlier, to be able to be next to his new friend without feeling so much anxiety; but he didn't want to take some strange unknown drug. The idea of it just seemed so frightening.
"How about some more beer instead?"
Jace chuckled.
"You know, my dad will notice it if we drink all the beer."
Collin fidgeted and looked straight ahead at the TV.
Jace, noticing the expression, looked off to the side and frowned to himself. He wasn't being that great of a host; making his friend uncomfortable, running out of things to do, and it was obvious that Collin needed a bit of relaxation but he didn't know how to go about it.
"Well, maybe just one more beer wouldn't hurt."
Collin grinned and Jace smiled, getting up off the couch to fetch them.
One beer each became two, and soon the two wolves were back to teasing each other and joking around.
"...So, then this girl got really upset and threw her glass of water in the other girl's face..."
Collin rolled onto his side, giggling at the story that Jace was unfolding. An hour and a few beers later and the two were sharing stories as if they'd known each other since forever. Jace seemed to be a never-ending font of stories about his female conquests as well as observations on the hypocrisy of others. There was a subtle wisdom to him that Collin found attractive, and more than once he found himself pondering just how lucky he was to have finally found a decent friend. And a quality one at that! The "guy talk" never got old and he felt like he could listen to Jace's baritone voice for hours, but the conversation was soon interrupted by the doorbell.
"Oh shit! The pizza! I almost forgot!"
Jace launched himself from the couch and ran to the door, fumbling with his wallet.
"That'll be twenty five eighty seven."
Jace didn't even look up as he counted the money at the open door. Collin sauntered over and took the pizzas from the delivery guy and made his way back to the couch.
"Here's thirty, keep the change."
"Thank you! You two have a good night."
"Th... Thanks."
Something about the way the delivery guy said that last sentence caught Jace off guard and he didn't close the door right away. Even more strange, the delivery guy didn't seem in a hurry to leave; instead, counting the money and shoving it into his pocket and looking up at Jace from the shadow beneath his uniform's baseball cap.
"So, have you tried it yet?"
Jace blinked, a little shocked and unsure of what the guy was talking about. By now he recognized that this was a fox, but he was certain he hadn't seen him before.
"Have I tried what yet?"
"You know... 'it.' The 'glow.'"
Jace gave the pizza delivery boy a strange look and considered just shutting the door in his face but curiosity got the better of him.
"Glow? Dude, I don't know what the hell you're--"
"I can smell it, even from over here. Even from over the pies."
It was then that realization set in and Jace turned his head looking over at the solitary bit of foil over on the dining room table.
"You mean..."
"Yeah... Yeah..."
The fox's voice was dark and kind of creepy, sending an involuntary chill down Jace's spine.
"I... didn't even know what it was called."
"You should try it..."
"Yeah... okay. Have a nice--"
A booted foot stopped the door from closing and Jace felt his stomach knot up. He had no idea what this crazy person was about to do and at the moment he feared the worst.
"Is everything okay over there?"
The voice was soft and came from the couch, slightly muffled by what was probably a slice of pizza. The distraction allowed the fox to lean closer and whisper something in Jace's ear before removing his foot and quickly making his way out to the delivery vehicle.
The gray wolf's face was a little pale as he closed the door, making Collin feel a little worried.
"What is it? What did he say to you?"
"Freak..." Jace mumbled to himself as he walked back over to the couch.
"What did he say? I saw him lean close to you and whisper something."
Jace just shook his head.
"He wasn't making any sense. But he could smell that stuff over on the table and he called it 'glow.'"
"Glow? Sounds... ominous."
"Yeah, well the guy was probably screwed up on something anyways. Gave me the creeps."
Collin nodded, eyes a bit wide as he chomped down on a slice of mushroom pizza.
"Thought I was gunna have ta pop him one in the face!" mimed Jace with bravado, trying to lift the mood.
"Oh yeah, my hero," mocked Collin in a dead-pan, non-convincing voice and Jace tackled the freshman onto the couch and began to tickle him.
Collin squealed, dropping the slice on the coffee table, and tried to crawl free but Jace wasn't having any of it. Two minutes of giggling and gasping later Collin finally raised his arms in defeat and surrendered.
"I give! I--"
Collin tried to catch his breath before continuing.
"I yield!"
Jace relented and lunged for the boxes of pizza.
"You know," started Collin as he straightened out his shirt and sat upright, "maybe we should try some of that stuff."
Jace raised an eyebrow, wondering where this was coming from.
"It's called Glow, right?"
Jace nodded, a piece of mushroom pizza hanging from his muzzle.
"Well, maybe it'll help you."
Jace stopped cold and swallowed his bite, eyes fixed on Collin.
"Help... with what?"
"Your brightness problem."
Jace burst into a grin and threatened to tackle Collin again but Collin yielded instantly and protected himself by grabbing another slice from the box.
"This is coming from a half-drunk pizza hoarder who's never had sex!" Jace retorted.
Collin feigned feeling hurt, (which wouldn't have been pretending had he not had so much alcohol in his system).
"Fuck you!"
"You keep saying that--"
"Fuck you and your creepy-ass delivery buddy. You probably know the guy. Do creepy things together on the weekends."
"I really don't know him! I've never seen him before in my life!"
"A likely story..."
Collin grinned and reached for his beer but found it empty. Jace flopped on the couch next to him and gave him a few pats on the head.
"Sorry little fella. We drank 'em all."
Collin's eyes widened.
"Really?"
Jace nodded, taking another bite.
"But, won't you get in trouble?"
Jace shook his head.
"Nah. This is the first vacation my parents have taken in, like, five years. I doubt he'll be thinking about beer once they return, if you know what I mean..."
Jace nudged the grinning Collin with an elbow and in a surprising move, Collin leaned over against his friend, resting his head on Jace's shoulder.
"Alas..."
Jace blinked and looked side-long at his friend.
"Alas what?"
"No beer."
Jace cracked up and shoved Collin back to his side of the couch.
"Silly runt!"
"Only my mum is allowed to call me that!"
Jace laughed.
"Your mum and half the school!"
"S...So? Well... Fu--"
"Fuck me?"
"Yes! Exactly! And thanks for the offer but I'm not nearly drunk enough."
Jace laughed and clapped his buddy on the shoulder.
"Touché, you're on a roll tonight."
Collin just smiled and toppled off the couch and made his way over to the dining room table to get his cup of water.
"Oh gawds..."
Jace grinned.
"Still smell pungent over there?"
"Yeah... Like lemon flavored mushrooms on steroids, mixed with something I don't even want to identify!"
"Maybe you should taste it."
"Maybe you should taste it."
"Maybe we both should taste it."
Collin frowned, considering for a bit. Then he wondered at the fact that he was actually considering taking a strange drug with a friend he'd only hung out with this once. Then again, he'd never had beer. Never had "guy talk." Never really had much of a friend. And maybe taking this with Jace would make Jace think he was cooler somehow. More adventurous. Collin knew it was a silly thing to think, but he really liked Jace and wanted to impress him somehow.
"Well... If I try it, will you?"
"Are you actually considering it?" questioned Jace with a surprised look.
"Well, if you're too scared to try it then I'd understand..."
Collin wondered at himself. Teasing this upper-classman _and_pressuring him to do his own drug!
"Psssh. You're all full of courage because you don't think I'll take you up on it."
"I'm serious!"
"Bullshit."
"I'm really serious!"
To prove it, Collin reached over and started to unwrap the foil but Jace launched himself from the couch and half-stumbled across the room to catch him before he did something stupid.
"Wait!!! That's now how you're supposed to take it!"
Jace snatched the foil from Collin's paws and gently unwrapped it.
"Then how? Are you supposed to smoke it?"
"No. The guy said you have to make it into a tea."
"Why a tea? That seems strange."
"I dunno. Maybe he just wanted everyone to gag more as they dry to drink this stuff."
Collin smiled and poked at his friend but before he could make another teasing remark Jace cut him off and looked him in the eyes.
"Let do it."
Collin immediately began to have second thoughts but the sudden look of determination in Jace's beautiful hazel eyes held him transfixed.
"O... okay."
The tall, gray wolf turned and left his dazed friend to go and find some mugs along with his mother's teapot.
Tea - 0
The pot on the stove began to whistle as the water came to a rolling boil. On the table the sticky white substance had been divided into two equal doses using a butter knife. Having been allowed to air out a bit, the pungent aroma had died down but the two who were about to embark on this experiment were both feeling reservations. Neither one, however, was going to be the one to back down.
Two mugs appeared on the table and the white substance was divided between them, using the knife, before being submerged in the baths of scalding-hot water. Jace was using the butter knife to slowly stir and both wolves watched with intense curiosity as the white goo slowly turned into a ruddy brown color, dissolving into the hot liquid until the mugs could almost be mistaken for hot chocolate. The smell, on the other hand, could not.
Collin gagged after inhaling a deep whiff of steam from one of the mugs, much to the amusement of Jase.
"Mmmm... like a nice cup of coffee."
"I don't like coffee either," gagged the white wolf.
"Well, aren't we a picky eater."
"I don't see you rushing to drink this nastiness!"
"That's because you have to allow it to completely dissolve and cool down to drinking temperature."
"You're just stalling."
"I just don't like scalding my tongue."
"Oh yes, your silky smooth tongue..."
Jace raised an eyebrow and Collin blushed, not meaning to bring up the sultry story from earlier. The story hadn't even been about Jace's tongue...
To cover up his embarrassment, Collin picked up a mug and quickly took a sip.
Jace gaped, wide-eyed as Collin gagged and sat the mug down, scraping his tongue along his teeth, trying to rid himself of both the burning and the bitter taste.
"I told you! Dummy! Wait for it to cool down! Are you okay?"
Collin nodded.
"Here."
Jace walked over to the freezer and extracted two ice cubes and dropped them into the mugs.
"That'll cool it down more quickly. That way we can both drink it at the same time."
Collin nodded again, wondering if he would be experiencing the effects sooner due to his size.
Jace waited a minute or two before picking up his mug and motioning for Collin to do the same.
"Are you sure you wanna do this? I don't want to pressure you into anything you don't want to."
Collin nodded, this time too apprehensive to fire back a rejoinder.
"Alright then. Bottoms up!"
The taste alone was enough to make both of the wolves choke and gag. It was as if someone had distilled the essence of bitter and sour into one concentrated potion and tossed in something fetid, just for good measure. But Jace looked at Collin and Collin back at Jace; and both raised the mugs again and again. This was a rite of passage. One that they were both taking together--yet another shared experience, and neither one was going to be the party that backed out half-way.
Before they knew it, both mugs were empty save for a tiny bit of sediment at the bottom. Jace looked over at the clock and scrounged for a piece of paper to record it on under the heading Tea minus Zero. Collin grinned and giggled a bit, thinking it was clever but also wondering why Jace had suddenly decided to take down the time.
"There we go," said Jace with a sense of accomplishment, "now we'll know how long this stuff takes to work. We can keep notes on this paper. It'll be like a little experiment."
Collin nodded, unsure if he was supposed to feel anything yet.
"The guy at school said it might take a little bit to kick in. To tell you the truth, it just occurred to me that nobody asked him how much was a dose. So maybe we only took half a dose. Maybe we won't feel much at all."
This came as a bit of a comfort to the younger wolf who was starting to feel a surge of anxiety well up inside him.
"So... let's go back to the couch. Have some more pizza to get this taste out of our mouths."
The little white wolf followed behind his friend and joined him on the sofa. The pizza was an excellent idea. It only took a few bites to forget that one had even touched lips to such an unholy brew. And compared to the nasty flavor of the tea, the pizza tasted just amazing!
"It's amazing what contrast can do."
Collin nodded. It was as if Jace had read his mind. But now they had to wait. And if not having something to do earlier was hard, waiting on something that was possibly scary was even harder.
"I know. Let's see if there's a movie we can watch."
Collin looked over at Jace, noticing for the first time small signs of anxiety on his friend's face, and this only made Collin even more nervous.
"Even if it's a bad one, a lot of times drugs can make them more funny."
Collin knew he was simply fishing for a distraction but agreed to the exercise anyways. Both of them settled on some B-Action film in the hopes that it'd be so bad that it'd be hilarious. And if nothing else, that it'd wipe away the fear that they'd both just done something horribly wrong.
T-0:30
Collin started upright, startling Jace in the process. Had he dozed off? For the life of him he couldn't remember what he was doing. Jace looked equally as mystified. The TV was alive with some show featuring a crazy badger waging a one-badger war against an army of rodents. It seemed to be half-way through but Collin didn't remember watching any of it to begin with, or how he'd gotten to the couch.
Jace, seeing Collin's confusion, placed a reassuring hand on his little friend's shoulder.
"You just passed right out, little buddy."
Collin blinked.
"Yeah... it made me crazy sleepy too at first, but I think it had a stronger effect on you."
"What did?"
Collin still looked confused and disoriented.
"Oh geeze..." mumbled the older wolf to himself as he realized just how hard this was already hitting his friend.
"Um, do you remember drinking some tea?"
Collin though really hard but everything was seeming kind of fuzzy. Had he been to tea? Was it tea-time already?
"I... uh... didn't bring anything to wear."
Jace blinked for a second before cracking up.
"What?! What are you talking about!"
Collin couldn't figure out what was so funny but the levity did make him feel a little better and he simply smiled, eyes drooping a bit as he started to doze off. A paw on his shoulder shook him a bit, however, preventing him from slipping back into unconsciousness.
"Stay with me little guy. Geeze... I probably should have only given you a quarter dose."
"Dose?" questioned Collin sleepily.
"Yeah, and all that beer beforehand was probably a bad idea."
"Did your dad say you could have it?"
Jace raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to make out what his friend was trying to say. "What now?"
"Did your dad?... Did he say you could?"
"Could what?"
"Entire coconuts..."
Jace tried to stifle another fit of laughter.
"Oh man... you're worrying me, Collin. Please try to stay awake, okay?"
"Okay..."
"You think you can do that for me?"
Collin nodded and reached for a slice of pizza but missed and knocked over his cup of water.
"Oh..."
"Don't worry about that, it's just water. I'll sop it up with a towel in a second."
"Okay."
"Just stay awake for me, okay?"
"Okay."
"Good boy..."
Collin felt Jace lean over and start to stroke his head-fur and the sensation sent a wave of warmth through his entire body. The petting felt so divine, he didn't want it to ever stop. But with another start Collin shot upright in his seat and woke up the sleeping Jace. The movie was still playing. It was the exact same scene.
"Jace?"
"Yes, buddy?"
"I don't feel so great."
"Yeah, I hear you buddy. Let's get you some coffee and maybe a bowl just in case."
"But... I don't like..."
Collin bolted upright in his seat again.
"Jesus Christ, Collin! You scared the shit out of me!"
The movie was still playing. It was the exact same scene.
"Um, Jace?"
"Yeah?"
"I don't feel so great."
"I'm sorry about that. I knew I should have cut back on your dose. I just didn't want you to feel like I was treating you differently because of your size, you know?"
Collin nodded, a bit confused.
"Just hang in there buddy. You'll start to feel more alert soon. It is just hitting you hard because of the alcohol. The guy did say not to mix the two."
Collin simply nodded again.
"Jace?"
"Yeah little guy?"
"Would you pet me?"
"Sure little guy... Just lay back and relax."
Soft paws began to stroke behind Collin's ears and the young wolf sighed contentedly. The soft, gentle, rhythmic petting was so soothing. Like an entire universe of one, vast, comforting ocean.
A paw slowly brushed against Collin's cheek and the wolf leaned into it, nuzzling the petting paw as several others began to stroke down his back and sides. The sensation was warm and arousing. Especially as one paw began to slide around Collin's waist and reach down into his--
Collin bolted upright in his seat, blinking like a startled deer and getting a strange look from Jace, who, from the looks of it, was starting to doze off himself. The movie was still playing. It was the exact same scene. And this began to frighten Collin.
This time Jace spoke first.
"Is everything alright?"
"W... Was I just asleep?"
"I didn't think so. You seemed to be watching the movie but you were a bit out of it for a few moments. Are you feeling okay?"
Collin didn't know if he should answer that question.
"I... I feel as if I've been losing time."
"It's probably the alcohol. The guy did say not to mix the two. It just didn't occur to me until it kicked in."
"Yeah, you've said."
"I have? I haven't really said anything since we came over to the couch."
Collin blinked and looked back at the TV. This time the scene had changed and the small wolf began to calm down.
"You do look a bit shaken though. Are you sure you're alright?"
"I'll be alright," breathed Collin, trying to reassure himself more than anything else.
"We can watch something else if you like."
"That's alright... I just, feel a little cold."
"Really?"
It was a lie. Collin didn't know why he said it but it just slipped out as if someone else were talking for him.
"Well, if you want I can grab us a blanket."
Collin nodded.
"That sounds good."
"Alright. I'll be right back."
Collin watched as Jace dove head-first into the living room floor and began to swim up the stairs. The TV was talking about MellunFruit, the only kind of dish detergent for your cat. A strange looking creature was stroking a small feline with what looked like spatulas covered in soap and something about the scene made Collin feel a bit on edge. It was the color of the spatulas. The colors were all wrong.
"Here you go."
Collin opened his eyes and blinked a few times, looking around himself. The TV was still playing that strange movie but the scene was not the same. This alone caused Collin to heave a sigh of relief.
"I've gotta tell you though, you don't feel cold."
Collin felt a paw press against his forehead and instinctively he leaned into it, yearning to feel the bliss of Jace's paw petting him on the head but Jace simply helped Collin upright again, adjusting him by his shoulders.
"Man, this stuff is really doing a number on you!"
"I... thought I saw a cat."
"Oh geeze... well, just hang in there. Once the booze is out of your system then the drug shouldn't be quite so severe."
Collin then realized that both he and Jace were under a blanket and this made him smile. Something about the situation made him half-expect to wake up again, but this time the movie kept playing, scenes progressed, and sadly, Jace was sitting only inches away... but not touching.
T-1:30
As time passed, Collin found that Jace was right. The confusion and blacking out caused by the bad mixture of this mystery drug and alcohol slowly subsided, instead replaced by a strange and wonderful warmth. Any small aches or pains that might have existed were soon forgotten and in their stead a sort of giddiness began to arise. The movie on the TV had somehow become supremely interesting and the two wolves were giggling at it like two schoolgirls. The psychotic badger was massacring guerrilla rats by the droves using nothing but a fork and a spoon and the two agreed that whoever it was that directed this movie was probably as high as they were when he made it.
There was one thing, however, that struck Collin as strange. On occasion, his tall friend would get out from under the blanket and walk over to the kitchen to look at the clock and then write something down on the piece of paper he had left on the dining room table before returning to the show. Collin didn't remark on it the first couple times but soon curiosity got the better of him.
"Hey Jay."
Jace turned to face his friend as he slipped back under the blanket. It was evident that he was feeling as nice as his shorter counterpart as his eyes were half-closed and there was a hint of a grin that never seemed to leave his face.
"Whatsup little guy?"
Had the two been sober, Collin would have been very sheepish at how they were addressing each other now. But unlike the beer, this warm, blissful feeling was all-encompassing and made him feel like he were floating on a cloud that nothing could destabilize.
"Why do you keep going to the kitchen? And what are you writing for?"
He meant to say 'writing down,' but words were somehow slippery now that the Glow had started to take over.
Jace just smiled.
"I gotta keep a record."
The gray wolf turned back to the TV as if he thought that answer was sufficient. But Collin wasn't satisfied. The white wolf pushed a bit at his older friend's shoulder and asked again.
"No, really... recording what? What are you... why?"
Jace almost toppled over, even with the light shove and the silliness of the movement made him start to giggle.
"Heeey..."
"Seriously! I'm serious! What are you!"
Jace righted himself and turned to his friend with a swift toss of his hair and looked deeply into Collins eyes as if he were going to impart some deep knowledge to his new partner in crime.
"Isn't it obvious?"
Collin shook his head no.
"I'm a wolf."
Collin blinked for a moment before he realized how he had asked the question and both of them broke out into a giggling fit that lasted for nearly two minutes.
"F... Fuck you! Ah hahhaha"
"You keep saying that! If you keep offering I might eventually take you up on that."
"Ewww!"
Collin rolled backwards on the couch and shoved at Jace with his bare foot. They had removed their socks and shoes at some point but neither one could remember when. Probably to sit on the couch, snuggled under a blanket. But Jace caught the foot and held it close against his chest to keep the lethal weapon from retracting for another strike. And also for...
"Heeey! Stop it! AAAHhhhHH HAHAHA!"
A volley of tickling commenced upon the bare paw, causing the short, white wolf to flop about and struggle, trying his best to pull it back. The tickling this time, however, was electric. Every small stroke sent an arc of pleasure and unbearable laughter through the freshman. So much so that he was completely out of breath in no time and just hung off the edge of the couch, limp and helpless.
Seeing that his poor friend was spent, Jace leaned over and grabbed up his friend, repositioning him on the couch and untwisting the blanket so that it draped over the two of them once more.
"No... fair," breathed Collin as he allowed his body to topple over and lean against Jace.
This time Jace didn't help him upright, but instead, wrapped an arm around his little friend and gave Collin's cheek a few strokes with the back of his paw.
Collin smiled, lost in the warmth of the body he was laying against and the stroking of his cheeks brought out a large sigh and smile of contentment.
"Feels good."
"Yeah... I'm really starting to like this stuff."
Collin had been talking about the few strokes instead of the drug, but the miscommunication drifted past him like a leaf on a stream and the small wolf snuggled closer to his friend who, to his surprise, still did nothing to right him. Jace just shifted and held him close, his paw continuing to stroke and pet his friend, almost of its own accord: A few caresses of the cheek and a scritch behind the ear. Collin was lost in it. Completely content and blissful. His wishes from earlier had come true somehow.
Jace looked down and smiled at his friend.
"How're you feeling?"
"It's... really nice."
"Mmm... yeah. I may have to try to get more of this stuff."
Collin looked up at Jace with his clear, aquamarine eyes, and waited until his older friend made eye contact.
"No... I meant you."
Jace stared down into the two, trusting, beautiful orbs for a moment; lost in wonder and a little confusion before it finally donned on him that he was petting his friend and holding him close.
"Oh... shit... I'm..."
Collin started in on another giggling fit and fell onto his back, his head almost slamming into Jace's crotch--a most effective way of cutting off what was going to be an awkward apology.
Unnf!
"Careful! You're gunna destroy my children and my children's children!"
The statement only made Collin giggle harder and the contagion brought Jace along with it.
"Geeze, you silly fuzzball... hehehe."
Collin's laughter slowly died down and the wolf turned his head to the side and heaved a warm, contented sigh. His eyes were closed but Jace's were not. The older wolf's eyes were quite wide as his friend's muzzle had turned barely an inch away from his crotch, breathing hot air onto what was now a growing bulge.
Swallowing hard, Jace wondered if he should shift or not. His friend's head was lying in his lap, slowly breathing warm air against his growing tent but any movement threatened to bring that nose against the bulge. A mixture of strange feelings began to surge within the gray wolf along with ideas he couldn't believe he was having. The curiosity. The wonder of what it would be like if his friend's muzzle did--
Oh gawds.
Collin shifted and smacked his lips, sighing and snoring a bit as he drifted off, but not before making a cute little noise and nuzzling into the crevice between Jace's legs, his nose rubbing up against the bulge that by now was straining to be free of its confines.
Jace's cheeks were flushed and the wolf reached down, hesitantly, not sure of what to do. His paw was just inches away from Collin's head and as it hovered there, two impulses struggled for control. The feeling of Collin's breathing against his cock, through the cloth of his pants and boxers, was clouding his mind. The haze of the drug and the pleasurable sensation wanted that hand to start--
Jace didn't even have time to think. Instead of pulling Collin away like he had meant to he found himself slowly stroking through his friend's head-fur; scritching behind an ear and shifting his lap so that Collin's muzzle was resting directly against his bulge. The gray wolf wanted nothing more than to slowly unbutton his--
Nom.
Jace leapt upwards from the couch, almost sending his friend crashing to the floor. In his sleep, Collin had suddenly, but very gently mouthed the straining bulge that was pressing against his muzzle and Jace had very nearly climaxed at the intense sensation it had sent through him. Instead, however, he had launched himself from the cushion and scrambled towards the kitchen, leaving behind an awakening and bewildered white wolf.
"Um..."
Collin rubbed at his eyes, trying to gain his bearings as his pillow erupted and few across the room.
"What's wrong?"
Jace was facing away from him now, standing in the kitchen, half-way between the clock and the dining room table.
"Uh... Um... I... Had to check the time!"
Collin tilted his head slightly, beginning to become fully awake again.
"Why?"
"Well, because..."
Jace was trying his hardest to will his erection to go away as he studied the clock and slid sideways over to the table to record his reading.
"Because?"
"Because... uh... you know that pizza dude?"
Collin nodded, turning to the empty pizza boxes and wondering how they had gotten that way.
"Well, you asked me what he said to me, right?"
Collin nodded again, becoming aware of some faint musky scent that vanished just as soon as he focused in on it.
"Did that pizza guy tell you to check on the time or something?"
"Well... Kinda."
Jace stood up, took a couple deep breaths, and then plastered on a smile before turning around to face his friend. His sheath was still swollen and full, but at least he wasn't showing as much as he had been.
"He said something very cryptic."
"Oh?"
Jace quickly made his way back to the couch and under the covers.
"You're acting kinda strange," observed Collin, eying the obviously flustered Jace.
"Well, at least I wasn't the one talking about cats earlier."
Jace had a point. That commercial was very frightening and just the remembrance sent a chill down Collin's spine.
"So... What did he say?"
Jace was more than happy to switch back to the other topic.
"He said: 'Just wait till hour three.'"
Collin's eyes widened.
"That... that sounds kinda scary!"
"I know, right? He was such a creep. But that is why I didn't tell you. I didn't want to freak you out. And I wasn't even sure we were going to be taking it tonight."
Collin rubbed at his eyes and yawned widely, unaware of Jace's wide eyes fixating on his long, soft-looking tongue as he did.
"I'm kinda sleepy. What hour is it?"
"You mean the time? Or the drug?"
"The drug," mumbled Collin, trying to stifle another yawn.
"We're bumping up against two."
"Well, I dunno if I can make it that long."
Jace looked his friend over and pondered for a moment.
"Yeah, you look it. Did you wanna head upstairs to bed?"
"Yeah, that sounds good..."
Jace got back to his feet and offered his friend a paw. As Collin's paw grasped his own, the tall wolf swallowed hard. The white paw was so soft. So warm. And for a moment they just stood there holding hands, but the moment was lost on Collin who had assumed that Jace was ready to help him up and he gave a large tug, pulling the distracted Jace down on top of him.
Neither wolf really knew how it happened--if it was just fate or physics--but Jace landed on his friend, paws still clasped yet now braced against the back of the couch to try and break the fall; but the cushion had given in under the pressure and it was just enough that the two wolves' muzzles made contact. Both had closed their eyes, expecting a painful impact but instead, other than a somewhat unpleasant collision of noses, the two wolves found themselves locked in a kiss, their lips pressed together in a less-than-graceful way.
Jace's mind went blank for a moment, and then began to fire on all cylinders. The soft paw in his. His wide-eyed friend's soft lips pressed against his own. Now was the moment, his heart pounding hard in his chest, that his mind raced to decide whether he should quickly roll away, or seize the opportunity, throw caution to the wind, and--
"Jffce?"
Collin's attempt to say his friend's name parted the white wolf's lips just a little and Jace unthinkingly tilted his head to the side, making the kiss official.
This time is was Collin who pushed Jace away and the taller wolf slid to the floor.
"Eww... Jace? You just kissed me!"
Jace couldn't help but laugh, caught half-way between rejection and embarrassment. He had to think of a way to play it off. Had to justify these feelings to himself as well.
"Hahaha... well it was you who pulled me into it!"
"Me?! What?! Wait, no! I thought you were trying to help me up!"
"I was! I just wasn't ready for you to yank on my arm like that! Besides, it has been you who has been propositioning me all evening."
Collin's surprised look turned into a glare and a few seconds later, both wolves found themselves laughing; Jace more out of relief than anything else. He still had the feeling of those soft lips on his own. A feeling that he desperately wanted more of. He licked his lips as the laughing died down but was disappointed to find he couldn't taste his friend. The realization that he had even tried to caused him even more difficulty. It had to be the drug. It was this damned drug that was messing with his mind! Everything just felt so good on it. Each little touch. Each caress...
And now his mind was off to the cute little smile on Collin's face as he caressed his cheek earlier.
"Hey, Jerkface."
Jace blinked and turned to look at his friend.
"Are you gunna help me up or not? And no kissing this time!"
Jace grinned and made a face.
"Take your own advice!"
"Whatever..." Collin grinned, extending a paw again and Jace was happy that the awkwardness of the moment had passed.
As the two got to their feet, Jace directed Collin which door to enter once he was up the stairs, assuring his friend that he'd be close behind after he grabbed something he needed.
As Collin left, blanket in tow, Jace stumbled into the kitchen and checked on the time. Something in him hoped that his friend didn't end up passing out before the three hour mark. Creep or not, the guy had whispered something in his ear that he just couldn't put from his mind, no matter how hard he tried. It was the second thing the pizza guy had whispered after telling him about the three-hour threshold...
Shaking it out of his head, Jace grabbed the paper and pen from the dining room table and hurried up after his friend.
T-2:15
Jace slipped inside his bedroom, carefully closing the door behind him and thankful that his friend had found the correct room and was still somewhat awake. Collin was laying down on the far side of Jace's bed, staring up at the ceiling and mumbling to himself as if he were counting stars.
Making his way over to the bed, Jace slid over next to his friend, lying on his back as well, and smiled.
"What are you doing, fluffball?"
Collin blinked, becoming aware that he was no longer alone and turned his head to face his grinning friend. Their muzzles were only inches apart and Collin had a serene, languid expression on his face.
"The stars... they're so beautiful tonight."
Jace looked up at the ceiling, half-expecting to actually see stars but instead there was just the ceiling fan, blades slowly swirling and shifting as if they didn't belong to this time or space.
"Stars, huh?"
Collin nodded with a smile.
"They're so beautiful. So many different colors."
Jace turned to face his friend and gazed deeply into the white wolf's eyes.
"I can't see them."
Collin didn't respond. Content just to gaze into the hazel pools that were fixated on him at the moment.
"But they are beautiful."
Collin's mind drifted through the aether, trying to grasp what Jace was talking about, but the moment passed, replaced with a floating vision of some sort of sea-creature doing a dance through the air above their heads.
"Can you see that?" questioned Collin, barely above a whisper.
"I think you are s... hmm..."
Upon turning his attention back to the ceiling Jace did see the most magnificent manta ray, drifting and shimmering with so many colors. It was like a silent rave from the sea, drifting through space; and then the sky suddenly exploded with a myriad of multicolored stars, as if some cosmic firework display had just been set off, seconds before time slowed to a halt.
"Oh gawds... I see them."
Collin smiled, gazing upwards with his friend, and without thinking his paw found its way towards Jace's, fingers entwining.
Jace glanced sidelong at his friend as a wave of warmth pulsed through his entire body. It was as if Collin were a star as well, shining down into his being--radiating through his soul by way of his paw. And such a soft paw it was. Something inside of him almost seemed to break; Like the fracture in a pane of glass suddenly widening under pressure. It came from his chest region, and a wave of awe and sadness washed over the gray wolf. It was so intense that he thought he might drown. The dull ache inside him, as he ran his thumb over the back of his friend's paw, threatened to become his whole world.
"It's okay," whispered Collin.
Jace blinked back tears that he didn't even know were there, wiping at his face with his free arm. As far as he knew, Collin was still transfixed on the ceiling. How could he know?
"I feel it too."
Jace blinked and opened his mouth but didn't know what to say.
Still looking up at the multi-dimensional fireworks display Collin began to hum. It was a slow, comforting tune--like a lullaby from some lost age--and something about it washed the pain and sadness away like a soothing salve. A sensation, like that of warm towels straight from the dryer, wrapped itself around Jace and he breathed a sigh of relief. His eyes were fixed upon the face of his friend, as if seeing the creature for the first time. There was something so warm, so angelic about him. And the sadness vanished like a wisp of smoke, replaced by Jace squeezing Collin's paw tighter. He knew what it was that he had felt deep in his chest now. It was the only thing that could cause so much pain and happiness at the same time. Something he hadn't really felt in his life before. Not like this. And especially not towards another guy. It was a secret he was going to keep locked away someplace special. No one could ever know.
Turning back to the ceiling the two wolves watched a cosmic play like none other. Galaxies spiraled, collided, and merged as alien fish morphed into birds with psychedelic plumage; riding the solar tides into a nebula sunset--neither one of the canines questioning how they were both able to see the same thing, both having completely forgotten the fact that they were now approaching hour three on some vile-tasting drug they had taken. That is, until Jace heard the clock downstairs chime three times.
T-3:00
The chimes reverberated and echoed like shards of glass bouncing down the chambers of a dark, metallic hallway.
Dong... dong... dong...
The brilliant show, at least for Jace, suddenly melted into a yawning void. There was a subtle glow, but it was only around the edges and no matter how hard he tried he could never get it to be more than something hiding in the shadows of his peripheral vision. Only Collin glowed, and he was glowing like a firefly in the night. A slow, haunting, green pulse that had Jace mesmerized and entranced.
Collin looked over at his friend who was staring at him with impossibly wide eyes.
"Um..."
Jace wasn't fazed by Collin's look of concern. There was no blushing. No fear. Just a breathless, spellbound wolf staring at something amazing. Something whose hand he was still holding, and realizing this, he turned completely onto his side and placed his other paw over Collin's; now holding his friend's paw in both his hands, his thumbs gently caressing it.
"Jace?... What... are you okay?"
Collin looked a little worried but the smile that crept across Jace's face helped put his fears at ease.
"You're... acting kinda..."
The words trailed off as the thrum of astral crickets reverberated through the night sky.
Collin tried to focus but it was becoming difficult. Every small stroke of his paw, no matter how slight, sent a large wave of pleasure cascading over him. At the moment he was completely helpless to his friend's subconscious affections and like an ocean he just couldn't drink enough of, Collin desperately wanted more.
Minutes later Jace realized that Collin had spoken and he tried to blink a few times, finding it hard to remember what had been said.
"Uhm... What... was it?"
Collin reached over and placed his free paw on top of Jace's.
"I think I..."
"Did you know?..."
Collin tilted his head a bit, his own paw beginning to caress Jace's, becoming aware for the first time that their muzzles were only a few inches apart and that awareness bringing with it the hazy memory of a kiss. Such warm lips pressed against his. Such a handsome wolf leaning over him. Even though he was a guy, something about it seemed so... right. It felt so right. So comforting. So...
"Hey..."
Collin blinked, focusing back on his friend.
"Did you know that you glow?"
Collin burst into a grin and began to giggle.
"Jace... what are you talking about?"
But Jace's expression was sincere and full of wonder; and Collin's giggling settled into a warm curiosity.
"I do?"
Jace nodded slowly.
Collin looked down at himself but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Instead, he just saw little rainbow shimmers flashing along the ridges of his dimly-lit white coat.
"I don't see it," admitted the small wolf.
"It's true... You do..."
Jace's words were soft and warm. They felt like the subtle waves that wash up against you as you settle into a warm bath, and Collin simply basked in them. Unsure of what they meant, but loving every tone--every syllable.
"...and I think I always saw that..."
Collin looked up from his body and back into Jace's eyes.
"...every day at school. Every time you were walking home. Sitting alone at lunch..."
Collin swallowed, his eyes drifting from Jace's, down to his muzzle, and back up to Jace's eyes again. His breath was warm and sweet. And his words...
"You are so beautiful."
Collin blushed in the darkness, looking down but scooting a bit closer to his friend who had widened his caresses to include the white wolf's wrists and arms.
"Would..."
Jace tilted his head as Collin mustered the courage to ask what he wanted to ask.
"Would... you... pet me?"
Jace broke into a warm smile and pulled a surprised Collin close, embracing him in a warm hug with one arm and stroking his head-fur with the other.
Collin whimpered and melted against his friend's warm body. Every pass of Jace's elegant black paw through his hair reshaped the young wolf's world. He was clay, and his taller friend, with the firm, warm chest; he was the artist. Each stroke, every moving follicle of fur was a warm beach; a rush of wind; the scent of a flower after a rain. A shower of pure pleasure was washing over him and Collin felt like he could barely breath. It was so much. And the rise and fall of his friend's chest against his cheek and the scent of his friend's fur...
Collin nuzzled into Jace's chest and slid his paws up under Jace's shirt and around to his back, holding him closely, almost clawing downward, and Jace let out a gentle moan. The clawing arced and crawled down every neural pathway and radiated down every nerve. Collin's warm form against him and his nuzzling numbed Jace's mind, wrapping him in a warm blanket of compassion and...
Jace didn't allow himself to think the second word, but his breathing made Collin's paws slip further. This time they clawed all the way down to his lower back and Jace nuzzled down into his friend's hair, inhaling deeply. The scent was intoxicating, and without thinking, Jace nipped at one of Collin's ears.
Collin gasped, his whole body responding to the warmth of the unexpected. There was nothing now. Nothing but this pleasure. Nothing but this warmth. And the white wolf pressed himself as close as he could against his friend, feeling their hips meet, a warm bulge pressing against his own. There was a light pant, almost a gasp against his ear as his friend responded, pressing, grinding back against him. Both of them were so hard, fur bristled, everything on edge. Only a few layers of fabric separated the two, hiding the firm flesh that ached to be free.
The small, white wolf looked up at his friend and found himself caught in a kiss. This time there was no denying it. Soft lips against soft lips. Warm breath, intertwined. Collin's muzzle yielded this time, his lips parting, inviting, almost begging as he felt Jace's tongue slip between them. The sensation heightened the moment as Collin's tongue glided along that of his older male friend's. The taste and the heat was amazing--the silkiness of it, the intimacy. A moment that was only briefly interrupted by Collin's gasp as he felt a paw reach between them and glide over the bulge in his pants.
Collin whimpered and whined into the feverish kissing. It was all he could do as he felt rummaging paws tug and pry at his pants, undoing his button and pulling down the zipper--peeling the edges away like the skin of some forbidden fruit. Now only the thinnest layer of fabric stood between his straining member and his friend's warm paw, and that, only for the briefest of moments.
The kiss was broken as the short wolf panted and gasped, looking down at the paws that had just freed his dripping member from its confines. One paw had slipped inside his boxers--the paw of another person grasping his cock for the very first time--while the other pulled his boxers down and out of the way. This was new territory and if Jace had given even a moment of pause, Collin might have stopped him. But he didn't. As soon as that warm, soft paw wrapped around Collin's cock it began a slow, rhythmic stroking. Collin was helpless to it.
The hips of the white wolf thrusted into the stroking paw, Jace trying to keep it slow as he nuzzled and nibbled at the neck of his young friend. This was the first time he had ever held someone else's cock in his paw and the feeling felt wonderful. The warm, pulsing flesh was dripping with need, coating his fingers and making them slick. By the thrusting of his virgin friend, Jace could tell that it wouldn't be long until something gave way and with great reluctance he released Collin's member, deciding to roll his friend onto his back instead.
Collin whined at the removal, wanting nothing more than to be back in that paw, humping into his friend's embrace. He had been so close. To not finish it felt like torture. But he didn't have a lot of time to think as Jace had crawled over him, sidling down between his legs and looking up into his friend's questioning, blue eyes.
Collin's eyes were wide as he gazed down at his friend whose muzzle was barely an inch from his needy cock. What was he doing down there? Why did he stop? Surely he wasn't going to--
A soft yelp escaped the white wolf as he felt that silken tongue that had just been in his mouth give his cock a long, slow lick from base to tip.
"Jace..."
The panted name was all the wolf could manage. He reached down with both of his paws, intending to push his friend's face away from his cock but it was too late. With one determined movement, Jace's muzzle nuzzled up his cock and then sank down around it, taking the young wolf's cock completely into his maw.
Paws that were meant to prevent him now simply rested on the back of Jace's head as Collin's head lolled backwards, panting hotly. Jace looked up at his friend for a moment before slowly moving his head up and down, his tongue snaking around Collin's cock as his lips engulfed and suckled at the salty flesh. Collin couldn't do anything but lay there, his orgasm getting closer with every single down-stroke of his friend's muzzle. He knew it was coming and there was nothing he could do to stop it. His hips were moving as if of their own accord and that tongue... Gawds, that tongue!
"JACE!"
Collin's body arched upwards off the bed, his feet kicking at the sheets as he squirmed and then went rigid. Jace felt his friend grip his hair tightly, eliciting a growl of pleasure around that throbbing cock and the vibrations, for his friend, was too much.
Collin's muzzle opened wide but no sound came out as he felt himself burst inside of his friend's mouth. His cock was completely engulfed in warmth, this warmth that Jace had boasted about earlier, and now he was filling his friend's muzzle with jet after jet of his hot seed.
Jace held himself in place as his friend spasmed and flooded his muzzle with salty and slightly bitter, viscous fluid. It was the first time he had tasted anyone else's cum. Never in his life had he imagined that he would touch another guy much less suck one off. And now that his mouth was filled to overflowing the wolf didn't know what else to do but to swallow, so that's what he did. Gulp after gulp of warm semen slid down his throat, almost eliciting a gag reflex, but the cute, helpless panting of his friend and the paws on the back of his head kept him in place until the deed was completely finished.
As Collin's muscles slowly switched from high tension into complete relaxation, Jace let the freshman wolf's partially-flaccid cock slip from his muzzle, doing his best to swallow and lap up the few remaining drops. Collin had collapsed deeply into the bed and was shivering slightly--not with cold but with the uncontrollable aftershocks of pleasure.
The meek Jace slowly crawled back up beside his friend and snuggled up against him. Collin was unresponsive, however; completely lost to sensory overload and the swells and troughs of sleepiness. It wasn't long before Jace heard a slight snoring coming from his friend's gaping maw and something about it made him smile.
"So cute..."
Ignoring his own hardness for the time being, Jace wrapped his arms around the waist of his new friend and let the dizzying heights of what had just happened pull him into the abyss as well. The last hazy thoughts before he faded away were of the peculiar taste in his mouth and memories of what it was like to have a hard, full cock being thrust forcefully between his lips before filling his muzzle with its seed. Something about that spasming... that need...
And then, for a time, there was silence.
T-4:00
"Hey Jace. Jace... Wake up."
The gray wolf's eyes opened half-way, the room shimmering and rippling as if he were under water before he rubbed his eyes, slowly becoming aware of his surroundings. The rippling was the result of his body being shaken by a soft paw on his shoulder. It was Collin, eyes-wide, trying to wake him from his infinite slumber.
"C...Collin? What's..."
Jace yawned widely.
"Jace... wake up!"
"I'm awake. I'm awake... What's the matter?"
Jace's whole body was pulsating with the slow ebb and flow of warmth and tendrils of pleasure snaked their way around his form. Something about it seemed so ethereal. So surreal. Why did he feel this way? Had he taken something? Was he sick?
"Jace! C'mon!"
There was a sense of urgency in Collin's voice and Jace, eyes now clear from his slumber, realized that his friend was nude from the waist down.
The gray wolf's eyes widened, fixed on that fuzzy white sheath.
What the hell happened?! Why is Collin pants-less in my bed!
"Jace, I think it wants to eat us."
This statement snapped Jace right back to the present and his eyes darted up to meet Collin's. There was no hint of joking in those crystal-blue eyes. Only fear.
"Collin... What are you talking about?"
"It's under..."
The white wolf paused a moment to let a wave of pleasure wash over him like a warm wave on a sandy beach; the thought and urgency completely receding with the tides. Jace, however, was on high alert and not about to let the topic drop. Something was obviously up with his friend. Maybe they had eaten something bad for dinner. These strange surges of... well... he couldn't think of anything rotten that would cause such sensations of dizziness and pleasure. Had they had too much to drink? He'd never known alcohol to do this before. But none of that mattered. There was true fear behind his friend's eyes before he faded out and Jace had to know what had caused it.
"Collin. Hey Collin..."
"Huh? Huh what?"
Collins eyelids fluttered a bit before opening fully, his head bobbing about as if he had been unconscious for a moment.
"Under where?"
Collin paused for a moment before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
Jace didn't know what was so funny and stared at his friend in bewilderment.
"You... you said... ah hahahaha."
Jace traced back over his words before it dawned on him. But instead of cracking up, the older wolf just blushed, his eyes fixing back on that white fuzzy sheath and those two round orbs. Something told him that his friend didn't know, even with the word reverberating in his skull, that he was not wearing any at the moment.
No, he had to concentrate before another wave of pleasure distracted him.
"Collin. Collin please... what made you wake me up?"
Collin's laughter stopped with an abruptness so sudden that it really began to creep Jace out. The white wolf's eyes were now as wide as saucers and he turned back to face his friend very slowly, as if he was afraid to make any more sudden movements.
"I know what it wants..." The white wolf whispered into the dark.
A shiver went down Jace's spine; and this time, not the pleasant kind.
"W... What... does it want?"
"Shhhhhhh!"
Jace bit his lower lip.
"It's under the bed!"
A cold flush of dread draped itself over Jace like a blanket. As soon as the words had left Collin's lips, Jace became aware of a huge, dark and ominous presence directly beneath them. It was down there. It was waiting. Jace could almost hear it breathing.
"Collin?" Jace asked, his voice also a whisper now.
"Yes?"
"What does it want?"
Collin slowly turned onto his back and pulled the sheets up to chest height, covering his half-nakedness with instinctual self-preservation. It took a few minutes before the white wolf was able to utter the terrible words that Jace had been so patient for.
"It wants..."
Jace swallowed hard, ears flattening.
"...A bath."
The older wolf blinked, not quite certain he heard correctly.
"A what?"
Collin turned his head to face his friend.
"You have to do it. But I don't have any. If we don't do it. It'll eat us."
Jace felt another wave of pleasure surging through him and he fought against the tide as best as he could, trying to maintain focus.
A low, guttural growl emanated from the space below and the two wolves became as still as statues, afraid to even breath.
Collin whimpered and hugged the sheets up to his chin.
"I don't want to die."
Jace scooted closer to his friend and put an arm around him, trying to reassure him. In response, he felt two arms wrap around his middle as Collin snuggled up close against him, burying his face against Jace's chest.
"You aren't going to die," whispered Jace as he slowly pet his friend. The fear within himself was overwhelming but seeing his friend so scared and vulnerable overrode any sense of his own self-preservation. In the moment, he was willing to do anything to make sure Collin felt safe and secure.
"But... but we don't... Have any..."
Collin was now in tears as he looked up at his friend, his plaintive expression rending Jace's heart in two.
The older wolf brushed the tears away from his friend's cheeks before squeezing him close. It didn't matter what Collin meant. What they did or didn't have or what the beast under the bed wanted. If it meant to eat them it was going to have to get through him first. He'd never let a hair on his little friend's head come to harm. Not while he was still alive.
"Don't worry," Jace whispered into Collin's ear reassuringly. "As long as you're with me, you're completely safe. I won't let anything happen to you."
Collin gripped Jace's shirt tightly in clenched fists and nuzzled against his chest, drawing as close to his friend as he could, and Jace swallowed hard as he stroked over his friend.
Suddenly, the room was filled with complete silence. Even the wind outside the window stopped. The only sound was the slow padding of giant paws as the creature that was under the bed revealed itself behind Jace's back, slinking out from under its hiding place and growing to impossible height.
Jace closed his eyes tightly and pulled his friend close.
The creature behind him slowly turned to face the wolves on the bed, its hot breath rattling from behind razor sharp teeth.
Collin mumbled something into his friend's chest, feeling more calm now that he had Jace's protection. Completely oblivious to the fact that Jace was expecting to die at any moment.
Please... Please...
Please was the only word Jace could think to himself. Something in his mind knew that the beast behind him was a monstrous, demonic feline of some kind. He could even smell its terrible scent as it loomed over them.
Jace's eyes opened slightly, just enough to see a dark shadow spreading across the bed. It was going to happen any time now. Sharp fangs sinking into his jugular. A quick swipe of a paw rending open his flesh...
"I'm so sorry Collin" was all he could whisper, a single tear of his own sliding down his cheek to land on his friend's head-fur.
"It's okay..." The muffled reply was soft and comforting. Something about knowing that his last moments were going to be with his love brought a sense of peace over Jace. Even the simple words 'It's okay' seemed to make everything truly seem so. As the hot breath drew closer to the back of his neck, Jace closed his eyes and kissed Collin on the top of his head.
"It's okay... the product was only released yesterday anyways."
Jace frowned a bit at the odd remark.
"Collin?"
The question was broken by a loud, shrieking roar but instead of accepting his fate, every muscle in Jace tensed and then exploded with power as the wolf turned and launched himself full force at the demon behind him with murderous intent. His hazel eyes burned with defiance as he took his best, clawed swipe at what would surely be his end. Behind him, the white wolf watched with wide-eyed wonder.
"WE... DON'T... HAVE ANY!" roared Jace as his paw made contact with nothing but shadow and air.
For a split second Jace had been staring into the reddish-orange eyes of hell itself, but as soon as his body was about to make contact, the bristling creature vanished in a splash of darkness, leaving Jace to face-plant in a spectacular fashion upon the bedroom floor.
There were a few moments of silence in which neither wolf moved, but this silence was soon broken as Jace heard the springs of the mattress shift as his friend scooted to the edge of the bed to see what had become of his savior.
"Jace?"
Jace let out a moan, more out of habit than anything, as he expected that he should be in pain, but his body was so numb he hadn't even felt the impact with the floor.
"Jace, are you okay?"
The larger wolf slowly gathered himself into a sitting position and turned to face his friend, a silly grin spreading across his face. He had done it. He had conquered the beast; had scared it back from whence it came.
Collin simply stared at his friend with a mixture of wonder, adoration, and worry. Jace's grinning muzzle was covered in blood from his bleeding nose but Jace seemed blissfully unaware of it. To Collin, it looked as if the giant demon-cat had gotten off one fell swipe at Jace's face before it had vanished into thin air.
"Jace... you're... you did it!"
The larger wolf's grin widened. He had done it. And more importantly, Collin was safe. That cute white wolf that was perched on the edge of the bed meant more to him than an army of demon hell-cats, and he was willing to face-plant into every bedroom floor in existence to keep that little guy safe.
Collin burst into a grin and leapt from the bed--tackling Jace backwards on the floor, nuzzling against his neck and face, clinging to him and showering him with kisses; full of unimaginable gratitude.
Jace laughed and hugged his friend to him tightly, nuzzling back and accidentally catching one of Collin's kisses on the lips. It is there where the two wolves lingered for a bit; lips pressed together, Collin's body on top of his. A wave of pure bliss rose and washed over the two and this time both of them surrendered to it.
Jace's cheeks flushed red with warmth as he stared up into Collin's adoring eyes. Without really thinking, the older wolf gently broke the kiss and scooped up his friend in his arms, staggering to his feet and carrying him back to the bed. As he did so, he could feel Collin's naked, furry rump and tail against his arm but his eyes were too transfixed on his friend's to journey downward.
Back in bed, Jace helped Collin out of his shirt and removed his own shirt also, wiping the blood from his muzzle before tossing it to the side, and for a moment he simply stared down at his naked friend--the white fur gently lit by moonlight filtering through the window.
"How did you lose your pants?" Whispered Jace as he traced Collin's entire form with admiring eyes.
Collin blushed, paws raising to hide his face but not quite making it all the way.
"I don't remember," confessed the freshman bashfully. "Maybe I was going to change into pajamas or something."
Jace nodded. It seemed logical to his drifting mind, even though Collin hadn't brought any change of clothes nor pajamas with him.
"W...Why did you take off my shirt?"
Jace frowned and pondered. He had simply acted without thinking it through.
"You looked hot."
Collin blushed even harder and Jace bashfully scratched at his head as he realized how his statement might have been taken. But it was true. Staring down at his friend's body, he couldn't help but be taken in by it.
"You must be hot too..." ventured Collin, nodding at Jace to indicate his own lack of a shirt.
"Oh yeah... I suppose so."
The words were being swept away in another wave of bliss. Everything was different now. Sparkling. The moonlight gave everything an angelic halo and Jace was finding it hard to remain focused.
"But..."
Collin flushed even harder and turned his eyes to the side, wondering if he should continue.
"But... you haven't taken off your pants."
Jace blinked and looked down. It was true. He was still wearing his pants.
"Did you want me to take them off?" he asked his bashful friend.
A nod was all he got in response. It seemed only fair. And it wasn't a big deal. Guys got naked in front of each other in the gym all the time. So Jace deftly got to work unbuttoning and unzipping his pants, his fingers hooking over both waistbands and with one shimmying motion that ended with him flat on his back, the wolf removed both his pants and boxers and kicked them off the side of the bed, lying next to his friend who was now surveying his complete nakedness with wide-eyed wonder.
"You... you're so strong-looking."
Jace blushed at the complement. Nobody had ever remarked on his body before, especially not another guy.
"Is this okay?" questioned Collin.
Jace nodded as he turned on his side to face his friend.
"We're both guys. Guys see each other naked all the time. It's no big deal."
Collin slowly nodded. It made sense. He never took gym so he never exposed himself to another before. But he didn't know if guys looked at each other like Jace had been looking at him earlier. And there was something else too. Had they just kissed over on the floor? Guys didn't usually do that in the locker room. Or did they?
"Hey, Jace?"
"Mmmhmm?"
"Do guys... usually kiss in the locker room?"
Oh gawds.
Jace turned his face to look up at the ceiling, trying to conceal his embarrassment. Of course they didn't. Well, there was that otter and that panther, but that was different. They were... different. But the rest of the guys, no. No, they just teased each other. But Collin wouldn't know. Collin wasn't into any sports. Any answer he gave would suffice.
"Um... Well... Yeah.... I mean... it's no big deal. Just guy stuff... you know..."
"Oh..."
Jace though he detected a hint of disappointment in Collin's voice and he turned to look back at his friend who was now looking down.
"...But... none of them are like you."
Collin looked back up at his friend, eyes searching and waiting.
"What do you mean?"
"Well... we're both guys, right?"
Collin nodded.
"Well, some guys in the gym are closer to each other than... the other guys."
Jace winced. He was making a mess out of everything. What was even going on? He didn't even know why he had decided to disrobe much less--
Another wave of pleasure surged through the bodies of the two wolves and for a few moments there was silence.
Was this normal? The thought swirled in Jace's mind before Collin interrupted once more.
"Do you mean... closer like this?"
Collin scooted right up against Jace and the older wolf swallowed hard. Collin's head was against his chest, a paw placed over Jace's pounding heart and as an afterthought, Collin scooted his hips even closer so that their sheaths were now touching. The pulsing warmth from the contact immediately caused the sheaths of both wolves to swell and Jace's mind raced for some kind of reply or answer.
"Uh... um... I... Well..."
Collin's paw began to trace circles through his friend's chest-fur as another wave of pleasure crawled through their bodies. Only now--now that they were touching--the wave heightened every single caress and every point of pressure. Jace's mind had gone blank and his arms encircled his friend, tracing patterns down Collin's back as the older wolf pressed his swelling sheath against the freshman's. He could feel Collin's breathing become more shallow and hot, and looking down he saw his friend's eyes were closed with concentration, the feelings of their two bodies pressed together almost overwhelming the little one.
Jace had forgotten the question entirely. So had Collin, who was now nuzzling up against Jace's neck and allowing his paws to trace down Jace's sides.
Jace lowered his muzzle and gave his friend a gentle kiss as he allowed a paw to travel down to Collin's lower back and then tug at the base of his tail.
Collin gasped loudly, his wolfhood beginning to slide out of its furry home and Jace basked in the scent of his friend's emerging cock. Something about it seemed so familiar. Faint memories, almost like a dream, danced at the back of his mind, making his mouth water.
"Do..."
Jace's attention returned to his friend's face.
"Do they... get this close?"
Jace nodded. His mind was on that one gay couple that the others talked about in the shower room. He had always wondered what they were doing back in the shower. He had heard the sounds. But he never let his mind wander much further than that. But those were the two that occupied his mind now. His imagination of them answering his younger friend's inquiries.
"They do?"
Jace nodded again, his own cock beginning to slip from his sheath and the warmth of his friend causing him to grind up against the white wolf who let out a whimper of pleasure.
"W... What do they do next?"
Jace's mind searched through the fog to find an adequate answer. What did they do back in that far shower stall? Were they kissing? Almost certainly. Were they pressed together? Probably... but what after that? When both of them were hard--
Jace gasped as he felt a roaming paw reach down and caress his fully erect cock.
It was the first time he had ever been touched there. All of his stories--All of his bold talk about bedding females--it was all bravado. Lies. Completely fabricated. The farthest he had gotten with a girl was second base. And even then not for that long before they were discovered. But now, now a soft paw was slowly wrapping around his maleness and starting to stroke him. And Collin was watching how his friend's cock filled out in his paw with great interest.
"Do they make each other feel good?"
Jace's eyes rolled back and he closed them as he felt himself getting close. The question only intensified what he was holding back, trying not to cover his friend with his own seed. But Collin was making it so difficult. He had to put a stop to it before something happened.
"Oh, gawds yes..."
That wasn't the answer he had meant to give. But his paw knew what to do and he reached down and grasped Collin's wrist, gently yet firmly, stopping him from completing the deed.
"Is something wrong?" asked Collin with a look of sincere concern.
"There..."
Jace was trying to talk between panting.
"There is something else guys do..."
Collin's ears perked up, awaiting to hear more instruction from the mystical land of locker-rooms and showers.
"They... do what you were doing... "
Collin nodded, his mind filled with the scent of his older friend's arousal--his own cock twitching and dripping with anticipation.
"...except, they use their mouths."
"Ohhh..."
Collin looked down at the throbbing member that his paw held captive and imagined what it might taste like; what it might feel like against his tongue.
"They do? Are you sure?"
Jace nodded, feeling as if his heart was going to explode out of his chest. He was certain that this is one of the things the two did in the back shower. He had caught a glimpse of it as he had walked past one time. And nothing in the entire world seemed more important to him right now than--
"Mmmmphhhnng."
Jace's head lolled back and he let out a deep moan as he felt his cock's tip and then shaft slip into Collin's warm, inviting muzzle. The white wolf's tongue wrapped around his larger friend's shaft as instinct kicked in and the freshman's head began to slowly bob up and down, slurping at Jace's salty flesh.
"W... wh..."
Jace couldn't bring himself to get Collin to stop. His mind and body could not agree and he was on the cusp of another wave of pleasure. He needed to feel Collin's mouth around him. Needed to hear those cute slurping noises and soft moans around his cock as his friend nursed on his wolfhood. And more than anything, he wanted to feel it happen as the coming wave crashed over him.
Collin's mind was in a haze as well. It was strange, having his nose up close to his friend's naughty-bits, feeling it flex against his muzzle and breathing in the scent. But it was that intoxicating musk that had drawn him in and made him long for a taste--taking his friend into his mouth and sucking on what was quite a substantial bit of flesh. Jace was well-endowed and it was almost hard to fit it all in his mouth; but Collin did his best, sucking and slurping at it as his friend's cock coated his tongue with precum. What happened next, however, was a complete surprise. Jace had placed both paws on the back of his head to hold him in place and had begun to thrust up into his muzzle with several, short and ragged thrusts. It was then that his friend let out a loud moan and the thick cock that was in his mouth began to jerk and spasm, filling his muzzle with a flood of semen.
Jace held Collin's head down around his cock as he felt himself release, filing that warm space with a copious amount of cum that had been built up with all the sexual tension that had persisted through the evening. The feeling was like nothing he had ever experienced, washing his mind away with an ocean of pleasure to the point that he didn't even notice his friend's gagging around his cock as Collin's mouth became over-full. It wasn't until Collin's struggling to get free became quite frantic that Jace realized and relented, allowing a coughing and gasping Collin to fly backwards away from his friend's still-hard member, trying to swallow all that had been given to him, splashes of cum dripping from his cheek and panting lips.
Jace just lay there, caught in an afterglow that was as expansive as the galaxy. Stars blinked in and out of existence overhead and his heart pounded to the sound of some unknown music.
Collin, on the other hand, was filled with excitement as well as confusion. Swallowing his friend's cum had almost brought him to the edge, but not quite over it. It was as if he had gotten himself off earlier in the evening somehow but his memory of any such event was lost. His friend was laying there in bed, a peaceful expression spreading across his face, but Jace's cock was still quite hard and Collin wasn't finished yet.
Feeling a bit of courage returning to him, the needy Collin nuzzled up against Jace's balls, returning his friend to the present reality.
"Oh gawds, Collin... that was amazing."
Collin whimpered.
"What's wrong?"
Jace propped himself up on his elbows, enough to see Collin's raging hard-on, but before he could speak Collin interrupted.
"I want to know more."
"More?"
Jace had finally caught his breath. What more did Collin want to know?
As if reading Jace's mind, Collin responded. "I want to know what else it is that guys do."
The words were more of a demand than a question and the forcefulness of it sent a shiver through the spent wolf. Collin looked so hot when he was needy like this. So hard and ready. Just the sight of his friend on all fours in front of him, nuzzling at his cock, demanding--it all combined to awaken a feral part of Jace that he didn't know he had. There was, in fact, something else that he knew those two guys did in that back shower. It was something taboo. Something the other guys whispered and snickered about yet that some secretly hid their responses to behind towels and sidelong glances.
"You really want to know?"
Collin nodded forcefully. He would have nodded to any proposition by now. He was riding a wave of pleasure, surfing along its crest, but lacking that final push to send him over.
Jace sat up and reached downward, grasping Collin's wrists and pulling him up close so that their bodies were once again pressed together. Collin rolled his hips, grinding his erection against his older friend's sticky fur, his eyes intently focused on his friend's.
"You're so cute..." whispered Jace, entranced by the creature that was beginning to gnaw on his shoulder.
"C'mon you."
Jace took Collin by the paw and helped him out of bed, leading him across the room and into the bathroom, flicking on the light before realizing that his shower was broken and unusable. It had completely slipped his mind, but his parents were in the process of doing some remodeling and he had been forced to use his parent's shower in the meantime.
No matter. They were gone and weren't going to be back this evening anyways, so downstairs it was.
T-?:??
It didn't seem to take much time at all to make it down the stairs, even though the two wolves spent a full seven minutes trying to navigate them without falling down. Perhaps it was the anticipation that made the time fly by. Collin's mind was filled with heat and desire as well as curiosity, and Jace's mind was stuck on a memory--a memory of walking past a curtain and seeing the panther and the otter's hips moving in concert, one arched over the other, mating and moaning under the rush of water. The panther had turned and made eye contact as Jace had stood there, dumbstruck, and had even given the blushing wolf a wink which had promptly sent Jace packing. Ever since, the panther would get a small smirk on his face every time he passed by Jace in the locker room and Jace would feel heat rise in his cheeks, knowing that he was being observed from the panther's peripheral vision with bemusement. It hadn't been his intention to spy. The commotion had just caught the corner of his eye as he was passing by. And over the couple months following, Jace had thought he had put it from his mind (and always chose a shower stall closer to the front), but apparently the image hadn't left him after all--Always sitting there, playing out in the back of his subconscious.
"Where are we going?" asked Collin as the two finally made it to the bottom of the perilous steps.
"We're going to my parent's bathroom."
Collin nodded, then got a confused expression.
"Why are we going there?"
"You wanted to know what guys do in the showers after gym, right?"
Collin nodded, not quite sure if he understood.
"Well, we're going to go shower. Just like guys do."
Collin wasn't sure whether or not he should be disappointed. All he really wanted was to feel Jace against him. Maybe to have Jace do to him what he had just got finished doing to his older friend. But the look of determination on his friend's face and the firm grip Jace had on his wrists made the white wolf compliant.
The master bedroom and bath was through a door on the right before one got to the dining room. The room was much larger and much nicer than Jace's , but Collin didn't get much of a chance to look around, instead, being towed through yet another door into a much larger and nicer bathroom than the one he had just seen upstairs. Soon the two wolves found themselves standing before a shower and Collin watched intently as Jace leaned in and turned on the water, allowing a billowing cloud of steam to fill the room before opening the door fully and motioning for Collin to enter.
"Are we really going to take a shower?" questioned the white wolf, his hardness still dripping in the steamy air.
"That's what dirty wolves do," replied Jace with a toothy grin.
The intensity in his eyes made Collin shiver.
"Face the shower-head."
The command was firm and low, eliciting a thrill through the younger wolf who positioned himself so that a cascade of warm water engulfed him. The feeling of the warm water, for a brief moment, completely whisked the young wolf away. It felt like the rains of a thousand summer storms were caressing his entire body. But soon he became aware that the water was not the only thing caressing him. Instead, Collin felt wet, black paws glide over his body; starting by encircling his chest and working their way downward, over his hips, thighs, and around his rump, giving it a squeeze.
The white wolf let out a little yip as he felt Jace grope his ass, but the paws didn't stop there. They moved on to explore every other inch of the young wolf's body: His thighs, his upper legs, calves, foot-paws, and back up to caress his furry balls and shaft.
Collin closed his eyes, wanting nothing more than this moment to last forever, the wet paw slowly stroking his throbbing maleness, but the moment passed all too soon. Again, he was caressed by nothing but water and with a questioning look he began to turn his head.
"Face the wall."
The tone of the order made the young wolf's heart jump and his cock twitched as he complied. The sound of some bottle sputtering could be heard behind him and soon the shower was filled with a lovely, fruity scent.
When the paws returned to his body, one of them held a shower pouf that was lathered with body wash and Collin stood in amazement as his friend ministered to his body, adjusting it and washing it like a parent might wash a child's. He had never had someone wash him before. Not since he was little. But as if to remind him of their purpose, these soapy paws would occasionally dip down his stomach to encircle his cock, stroking it--'washing' it--as well as slide around his hips to his butt, massaging his glutes in slow, groping circles.
It was a whisper beside his right ear that made the short wolf jump and then whimper. "That's a good boy..."
A small gasp escaped the freshman as he felt something else against his sudsy fur. This time it was Jace's cock, slick from soap and precum, grinding against his backside. A hand pressed on Collin's back, as the command "lean forward" echoed off the steam-cloaked tiles and the wolf obeyed, his paws pressing against the tiles ahead of him as he felt a paw start to stroke his cock again.
So this is what they did in the showers, Collin thought to himself. Imagining a room full of jocks all stroking each other off under the streams of hot water, completely unaware of what lurked in the mind of the wolf behind him. To Jace, the scene was almost perfect. His little friend bending over, paws pressed against the tile in front of him; sexy round ass, covered in soap and water--inviting.
The white wolf was suddenly greeted by the sensation of Jace's slick cock sliding between his cheeks, hips grinding against him as his friend's hard, thick member hot-dogged between his slippery mounds. This went on for a couple of minutes, both wolves lost in the feeling of their slippery bodies rubbing up against each other. Every time Collin felt the head of Jace's cock slide past his opening his body was filled with a thrill. It was as if it were begging him to press backwards. Begging him to somehow force that large piece of meat inside of himself. But it was so slippery that it never happened, no matter how needily the wolf pressed backwards against his older friend.
Once more, Collin felt Jace's muzzle rest against his shoulder, and as the other soapy body arched over his own, the cock was removed from between his cheeks. The younger wolf would have been disappointed except that he was still being held captive by the paw that gripped his cock, stroking it just slow enough to keep him tense but not enough to bring him over the edge.
There was a nip at his ear before a whisper washed over the short wolf's being.
"Are you ready?"
Collin nodded under the spray of water, his legs sliding a little further apart on the tile as he felt Jace position the tip of his cock between his friend's wet cheeks and at the warm pucker that rested right beneath the wet tail that was lifted out of the way. Without a second warning, Jace leaned forward and gave his friend's cock a deep stroke, pulling him backwards as Jace rolled his hips forward, and Collin let out a loud moan into the night.
The large cock pressed against the tight opening, precum lubricating the way as Jace's heart raced. He was about to do it. He was doing it. This was happening. And with a shove, he slowly pressed his hard cock past his friend's opening, sinking his entire length into his friend's warm passage as he embraced his buddy like he'd never embraced anyone before.
Collin's mouth hung open, face down and dripping with water as he felt his friend's large cock invade his tight space. The tip of it pressed against something amazing as Jace hilted himself inside of him and Collin almost came immediately. But Jace wasn't about to let that happen, instead, removing his paw from his friend's cock and just hugging his arms around his friend's chest, the two of them standing, united as one, under the cascade of his parent's shower.
It felt so good that for a moment or two Jace was completely absent. The feeling of being deep inside his friend felt so right. So warm, intimate, and amazing--the flexing and squeezing around his cock. He was united with some else. United with another life--connected--and he didn't want that moment to pass. But instinct was welling up inside of him and he couldn't help himself. Despite his best efforts, he began to do what he had seen a few months before. He began to move.
First it felt like he was going to cum right away, a wave of pleasure hitting him right as he started to withdraw his cock, but the tall wolf paused and took a couple deep breaths before pressing himself back into Collin's warm confines, hilting himself once more in his friend. And once more... and again... The tall wolf began to thrust and hump up into his shorter friend, mating with him in ways that all the other guys had only whispered about with secret stares.
Collin once again felt paws sliding over his body as he was impaled upon the throbbing maleness of his friend. They traveled over his chest, grasped at his hips, pulling them back against Jace with each thrust, and one of them even returned to the white wolf's cock, tentatively grasping it and stroking it in time with each slow thrust. The rocking of their bodies caused the water that poured over them to break cadence, sloshing in time with the thrusts as Collin's friend rutted against him. The feeling of that strong body arched over his own made the white wolf feel so safe and at the same time, dominated by a force so lovely that it filled his entire being. The short wolf no longer cared about getting off. Instead, he wanted this moment to last for an eternity. To be united with his older friend like this forever. His body rocking beneath, his insides full of hot, lustful warmth.
A breath of a whisper echoed out into the shower but it was too faint for Collin to hear it. For a moment, he thought he had heard Jace pant out that he loved him. But the moment was past, swept up in another wave of pleasure.
It was when that wave of pleasure hit that Jace's mind went entirely blank. His muscles tensed and his fur bristled under the water. Collin could feel the change and opened his mouth to question but only a yelp came out as he felt Jace tug hard on his tail with one paw as he began slamming his cock into his younger friend's ass with a quickening pace. The thrusting became feral, almost savage, and Collin was helpless against it. All he could do as his body was pounded was pant and gasp for air as the sound of his friend's balls slapping up against him filled the shower stall.
Collin felt claws rake down his back and the wolf yelped as his muzzle almost slammed against the tile ahead of him. It was rough, too rough. But he couldn't stop it. He didn't want to stop it. He wanted his friend to take him. To make him his. It was the only thing he could think about as he felt the growing knot slamming up against his entrance.
With a few more frantic thrusts Jace arched over Collin and slammed his knot past his friend's entrance, sinking his teeth into Collin's neck as he braced his smaller friend up against the shower wall. A yelp rang out and then a loud gasp as Collin's cock began to twitch inside of Jace's paw, covering the wall with streams of cum. He couldn't hold back, for as soon as Jace forced his knot inside of him he climaxed, the thick wolf cock jerking inside of Collin's body and Collin could feel every pulse and spasm as his older friend claimed him as his own, filling him deeply with jet after jet of warm seed, even as Collin coated the wall and the black paw holding his own.
The steamy shower was filled with relative silence then. Only the sounds of water on tile and the ragged panting of two wolves could be heard from the bedroom door. Neither one of the wolves was aware enough to sense the presence that stood just beyond the fog, watching the two intently, and by the time that Jace started to come to his senses, the feeling of being watched had vanished.
The two stood under the warm water for a while, connected in the most carnal of ways. The scent of soap had long since been replaced with that of cum and as he felt the throbbing knot hold him in place, Collin turned upwards to share a warm kiss with the one that was hunched over him.
Outside in the master bedroom, stealthy paws slowly slipped away. The distant sound of a closing window caused one of Jace's ears to swivel, but another wave of bliss melted him back into oblivion. The last sounds that he could recall were that of his body and his friend's sinking and falling to the shower floor.
The night was filled with strange visions. Neither Jace nor Collin knew how they had made it out of the shower. What felt like hours later, they both found themselves curled up together in Jace's parent's bed. The shower had been turned off and the room was completely dark. The waves of pleasure that had been a trademark of the evening had morphed into something different. It felt as if each wave's crest was higher than the last, and now the troughs were more vivid and pronounced. It was as if every wave lifted you up into the heavens--into a brilliant sunset above the clouds--filled with celestial awe and wonder, but then, the fall! That terrible fall... Like toppling from the tip of a tsunami and plummeting downward into the fearful depths of oblivion where alien beings of ghostly light and darkness lurked.
A few times the fall was so jarring and distressing that it woke one of the wolves from slumber and they would bolt upright. Or at least they thought it was slumber. Were they sleeping? Sometimes it seemed like they had just been talking and having friendly conversation for an immeasurable amount of time. But partway through one would realize that the other was asleep or on one terrifying occasion, that the other had vanished!
Even so, there was one blissful period of calm in which both Jace and Collin awoke at the same time.
Collin looked up at Jace with a warm smile and Jace gave Collin a loving kiss before wrapping his arms around him and snuggling close. Just to feel the warmth of another was such a wonderful thing--a miraculous blessing. Neither could possibly imagine what life was like before.
And on a separate occasion Jace had awoken to the feeling of Collin rubbing his warm furry rump up against the older wolf's erection. It was almost as if he was doing it in his sleep, but a kiss on the cheek had elicited a smile and a soft murmur.
Jace had reached down under the sheets and positioned himself at Collin's entrance and pressed himself inside. The two lay there like that for a while, slowly moving, making love under the sheets on his parent's bed until he once more pressed himself completely within his friend, climaxing and filling him once more as his friend's small squeak of a gasp sent jets of cum over the sheets, under the covers. They would then lay together, cuddled up with Jace deep inside his lover until another wave robbed them of their consciousness.
Neither one knew how many times such tender mating had happened during the small pockets of wakefulness that stretched throughout the evening. Nor could they know how long the evening was. Time had become a boundless ocean and the waves of it were both as awe-inspiring as they were terrifying.
On one of the crests, Jace met and recognized his friend Collin and had waved at him happily from over a floating vista. But as soon as he moved towards his friend he watched in horror as Collin fell through the clouds, screaming all the way down.
A distraught Jace had run as fast as he could, ignoring all the mind-blowing beauty around him in a desperate attempt to save his friend but he couldn't make it in time. Instead, one of his steps failed to find purchase on solid ground and he too fell face first towards a monstrous yawning abyss who's terrifying eyes and tentacles opened right before it swallowed him whole.
After this, the night was silent. Only crickets occasionally chirped out their tune and the two wolves lay in the master bedroom, completely motionless and without stirring until the sun began to rise.
Collin was the first to wake. His head felt dizzy for a few moments but soon after he felt as if he had awoken from the most restful sleep he had ever had in his life. The wide yawn and stretch was cut short, however, when he realized that he was naked and in a strange bed. Not only this, but his backside was quite sore, slick, and sticky at the same time.
Slowly turning his head, Collin saw the face of his classmate dozing silently next to him and his eyes began to widen.
When Jace woke up, Collin was already dressed and holding his backpack, almost ready to head out the door.
"Whoa... Hold up there..." mumbled the upperclassman as he tried to gain his bearings. Collin obeyed but seemed a bit troubled, a feeling that Jace began to share once he realized that he had, for some reason, gone to bed in his parent's room, completely naked. Had Collin seen him? Did they get super drunk? What the hell had happened?!
"Um... Just a sec. Let me find some clothes."
Collin didn't look in Jace's direction, but instead, just nodded and pretended to look around the living room while Jace, unable to locate his clothes, grabbed his mom's bathrobe from the door and made himself modest.
"Man... My head..." offered Jace with a smile as he walked out into the living room. "Did we drink a barrel last night or what?"
Collin was still avoiding eye contact, instead looking in the direction of the door and shrugging his shoulders quickly.
"Um, yeah, we must have. I don't remember a thing."
Jace scratched at his head, trying to put together why his new friend was acting so strange.
"Are you leaving already? It's the weekend you know. We don't have to be anywhere. I could make us some breakfast or--"
"Well, I would like to but I've got someplace I've gotta be."
Collin shifted in his shoes, looking down before braving a glance up at his bewildered older friend who was truly at a loss as to what was going on.
"Oh... well, Okay then."
Jace was a bit crestfallen. Had he done something to upset his guest? He really, really wanted to ask but he didn't want to make the situation any more awkward than it already was.
"Well, I hope you have a good one. See you at school on Monday?"
Collin nodded quickly, starting in Jace's direction as if he was intending on giving him a hug or shake his hand or something, but instead, the short white wolf made a B-line for the door and ventured out into the daylight.
Jace was completely dumbfounded and more than a bit worried. He had no idea if he had gotten too drunk last night and made a jackass of himself or what. And why the hell was he naked in his parent's bed?! He sure as hell hoped that Collin hadn't see him that way. That would be more embarrassment than the older wolf could handle--inviting someone over for the first time and ended up nude in front of them, probably singing some lame sitcom theme-song or something.
There was something else that was gnawing at the edge of his mind, though, and he couldn't place a finger on what it was. He didn't think his father had enough beer to get anyone that drunk, and there was no liquor in the house. On top of that... there was this odd scent in the air...
Jace flushed a deep shade of red. Had he masturbated in his parent's bed? Did Collin know? Did Collin see?!?
"Oh hell no..."
Jace flew into a bit of a panic, which wasn't like him at all. Now that Collin was already gone he was dying to ask him what he had done to make him so uncomfortable like that. There had to be a clue.
Running back to his parent's bed Jace found the sheets to be completely messy with cum.
"Jesus fuck!" What the hell had he been doing? It must have been a wanking marathon! But how could he not remember it?
Back out in the kitchen Jace went through the recycling but there were no clues there. It wasn't until he went by the sink that he saw something peculiar. There were two mugs with some brown sediment in them in the sink.
That was odd. His mom didn't usually buy hot chocolate until closer to the winter months and he didn't remember drinking... any...
Across the way Jace's eyes fell on an unfolded bit of foil on the dining room table and time around him seemed to grind to a standstill. A small fragment of memory drifted back to the front of his brain from someplace unknown. A pizza guy. Something strange. A whisper? Something creepy... But...
Just wait until hour three... you have no idea what you two are in for. He will be like putty in your hands. A real cutie too. Good for you. Good for you... I'll be seeing you, heh heheheh, real soon. Enjoy your slice!
Jace's face went pale.
The only memory he had of that night, other than those words, was the shimmering vision of a laughing and happy Collin, playing atop a floating, celestial bit of land, high above the clouds; and upon seeing Jace, beckoning for him to follow. But to where? And to what end?
Jace had no idea.
