Zootopia, the city where absolutely anything and everything can or is possible. There is no shortage of diversity in this lovely city, some of it's residents are going to work, others are outside being awestruck by the various views, while most were going about their daily lives. Then, there were the mammals that allowed the city to run properly and allow its inhabitants to be safe in their wonderland, two of these mammals happen to be on patrol enjoying each other's presence...Just not saying aloud of course, that would be weird.

" Are we there yet?" Nick whined, the fox was obviously enjoying trying to annoy the shorter bunny walking beside him.

"Shut it, you know where it is Wilde."Judy said in a matter of fact tone, smiling at her "annoyance".

" I don't know there may have been something in the blueberries you gave me, delish by the way as always." Nick told her as a side comment, gaining a warm feeling while remembering the surprise she gave him in the morning.

"Only for you, your grouchiness." She responded back with her short cotton tail wagging from his praise. He waved a dismissive paw at her while nearing roll call.

"You know what? I think I forgot something at my desk, I'll find it by the time the morning report is over ciao." Nick turned in the opposite direction leaving his partner to head to the wooden door alone. He was surprised when he felt his uniform's collar start to choke him. Judy was pulling him by the back of his shirt and into the filled room.

"Help I'm being kidnapped!" He yelped, reaching around dramatically to grab onto something. He got a few stares from a few other officers but they just kept on with their conversations. "Wow, what a great police force." He emphasized the last words while Judy kept pulling him to the front desk where they always sat.

"Well, who wants to help the fox that's always, literal always, planning something behind your back." Judy smugly told him with a smirk. She let go of his shirt, he immediately started fixing it to get it in tip top shape again.

"Kind of like how you didn't notice the paper you've had on your back since we walked into the building." He shot back while climbing up on the over sized chair that he Judy shared. Her ears turned back first and then her face changed one from from smug to shocked.

"You're kidding!" She squeaked out, the rabbit was reaching behind her back and jumping up down to get a paper that wasn't even on her off. Nick just watched, not even bothering to hold back his smile. Judy finally stopped when she saw his face.

"Foxes." She playfully spat out before jumping up on the chair then pounced on him, kind of like what every other officer was doing was to each other inside of the 'bull pen'. Nick put up a respectable fight as they kept pushing and shoving each other until a familiar voice shut everyone up.

"Attention!" Chief Bogo announced as he walked into the room, getting and keeping everyone's undivided stares. " We have a few cases for today but nothing that shouldn't be trouble for my troops." This earned him a chorus of howls and hollers as he shuffled the case folders behind the podium. " McHorn, wolfson there have been complaints of teens disturbing the peace at Hood ave, fix it. Kitteridge, Todd, Vulpes, Crowley undercover." Bogo kept passing out files leaving Nick and Judy for last, as always."Hopps, Wilde There have been amateur thieves downtown keep an eye out for any suspicious activity."

The duo slipped out of their chair with Nick leading the way to the folder the buffalo was handing them. " You got it Chief." Judy said with excitement, Nick on the other paw just slipped on his aviators and took the folder walking to the open exit.

"Check it in the car or our desks?" Nick asked her unsure of what his more experienced partner wanted to do.

" We should go to our desks and plan out everything before we leave." Judy answered gaining an extra hop to her step.

"Easy carrots, you might short circuit." The fox laughed finding it funny how easily she can get excited. She smirked when she heard him call her by her thoughtful nickname, it meant a lot to her that's all.

" You wish, I wouldn't want to leave you alone to do paperwork after we catch these thugs." She looked back catching a smile of his own. He put his free paw over his heart.

"And miss out on having to be in a car with the sweet rabbit that blackmailed me about tax evasion. Noooo" He put on exaggerated frown.

"You mean a sweet cute rabbit that blackmailed your tax evasion."She shot back, finally reaching their desks that were opposite of each other.

" Oh so you want me to call you cute? That desperate for love huh." He fought back knowing he won the battle.

" What? No. I meant. That." She felt her cheeks blush under her fur as she sat on her chair.

"Come on you know you love me." Nick told her as he put the folder in between their interconnecting desks.

She quickly remembered her line." Do I know that? Yeah I do. Now let's get started on this case."

"Okay cutey." Nick quipped, opening the folder.

"NICK!" She yelled. He just smiled and passed her one of the papers.

"Come on get to work I'm always the one doing your job." He told her knowing how to push her buttons. She opened her mouth and pointed at him before closing it and picking up the paper. She didn't take the bait

He sighed."You won that one rabbit."

"Now we're even." She acknowledged before reading over the paper. Now it's back to work, something they both were use to.

Once they had their day planned out they went to the garage to get to their cruiser. Something that they still weren't at all use to. Nick jogged ahead of Judy and jumped up to open the driver side door.

"Back up I'm driving." She said with utmost authority.

"Just opening the door for the lady." He thought quickly and put it into words, bowing as she hopped in the driver's seat. He walked to his door before pulling himself up the seat and buckled up.

"When can I drive?" He asked her with genuine curiosity.

"When you become chief and a professional driver." She told him with heartfelt honesty and a smirk.

"Pfft I went from a hustler to a highly dec-or-at-ed officer." He sounded out and fixed his tie.

"Your welcome." She coughed and started the engine letting its roar and her fake cough cover what she said.

"Ma poor foxy heart." He said in a higher voice and country accent.

" Always one step ahead."Judy told him as they pulled out of the garage and toward downtown.

"Ha, if I'm one step ahead your an entire world ahead." Nick leaned back and looked out the window, watching the passing world from a height he never has.

"Remember, the file said a weasel and a mole. Look about sixteen-seventeen years old." She said aloud mainly to herself.

"Do you think Duke could give us information?" He ran by her, getting her input about his thought.

" I think these are just two trouble makers looking to cause trouble, I'm not sure if they have a bigger picture." She told him putting pieces of an imaginary puzzle in her head trying to think of every solution.

" Most likely run away's, bad parents, or rough home life. They run their schemes most likely in an area they know about or feel safe in so they must live downtown, they are small so they can get away from almost anything if they plan out a certain route but I'm not sure they are smart enough to do that. Like you said they are most likely just nuisances. They were just like me at their age." He helped her, laying out the possibilities.

Judy went wide eyed and stunned for one of the few times in her life." Look at you! Detective Wilde on the case." She reached over to punch his shoulder.

"Ow easy, you just gave me a dead arm. And both hands in the wheel lady, we all know that rabbits can't drive." He went back to his former mischievous self.

"And that rabbits can't be cops? And that foxes are always trying to put one over someone?" She asked.

" Touchè, and the latter by the way that's just insulting. Do you know how much harder it is to trick someone when they prepare themselves for it." He feigned in fake anger.

"Wi."She responded.

"Rabbits."

"Foxes."

The patrol was not eventful for the duo, only having to pull over a few mammals for speeding, crossing a rodent lane illegally, and of course running a red light.

"Can we stop to get something to eat carrots? Sitting down looking at a speedometer hours on end is tough work." Nick begged while doing puppy eyes, which somehow was one of Judy's weaknesses. He must have learned it from Finnick.

"Awww." She cooed."Wait stop that. What time is it?" She asked her influencing fox.

"Thwee." He answered in a baby voice. Yep learned it from Finn. Or is it the other way around?

"We get off in two hours, but if you are quick you can get something. Where are we going?" She started to feel nervous. What if there was call while he was out and someone got hurt?

"Well, if we both get off in two hours I'll survive." He told her having a very foxy smile for some reason.

"Wait what do...you...mea.... NICK!" She yelled, blushing under her fur.She would be surprised if it didn't show through.

"What? Wait you thought I meant." He chuckled."Bunny's, always looking to increase the population."He said in his dumbfounded voice, which he used on her in the ice cream shop. Judy kept quite, surprising for the quick thinking cop.

"Getting lost in your thoughts over there?" He laughed finally not being able to hold it back.

" No, I'm just thinking of all the times you called me cute." She snapped while smirking. Now it's Nick's turn to be quiet and blush. Just like when she busted him for tax evasion, except he wasn't blushing then. "What? Getting lost in your thought's, or should I say your dreams?" She repeated smugly.

"So sprinkles or no sprinkles." He asked her trying to ignore what just happened.

"Oh don't think I'm letting you off the hook that easy. Wow, did I really make a fox speechless? Nicholas P Wilde, a loss of words. I can only imagine what type of world that would be." She sat back and turned the car into a drive through of one of the many busy donut shops.

"The same type of world where your partner doesn't pay for donuts." He crossed his arms and huffed like a teen.

"Worth it!" She 'quietly' yelled, pumping a fist in the air.

"It's fine carrots I got it." He leaned forward and opened the over sized dashboard and pulled out his wallet.

"I'll give you half when we get back to the station, and you shouldn't keep your wallet in there."

He waved a dismissive paw at her." It's fine, it's my treat. Think of it as paying you back for the jumbo pop." He mumbled the last part. "Also if I'm paying you back would you possibly, you don't have to but if you want." He jabbered on not sure why he was stuttering.

"What?" She asked curiously where he was going.

"Would you like to go to a movie later? Or go for a walk? After all It's Friday and knowing you, my antisocial bunny and knowing my schedule both of us won't be busy." He asked her

"Hmmm. You're right about me not being busy. stalker"She coughed .

"Hey." Hey snapped in return, spinning his head to look at her.

"One sec." She said before rolling down her window to place her order at the speaker. A minute later they were passed a box of assorted donuts. Clawhouser would be jealous." A movie would be nice, Fifty Shades of Prey came out a week ago." She told him holding back a smile and reached over to take a donut.

"A rom com? Or would that just be smut? If that's what you want to do." Nick told her surprised at what she decided on.

"I'm joking, I wouldn't see that with you. But a movie would be fun." She really decided this time.

"Sounds great, so Fifty Shades of Prey... you don't want me to see it because it will reveal what your into, got it." He quickly said as she took a bite out of a chocolate donut. Causing her to almost choke on it.

"Fuck you." She whispered and wiped her muzzle.

"That didn't sound nice you know." He told her in parenty voice, shaking a finger at her.

" Watch it or I'll cuff you to a pole." She threatened, deciding to pull back onto the main road.

"You know that if I watch that movie with you you'd be revealing your guilty pleasure right?" He leaned close to her face trying to get as close to her ear as possible.

"What am I going to do with you?" She sighed, looking at him for the last time before going back into officer mode.

"Well, apparently you're into handcuffs." He mumbled and went back to 'lookout' mode. Just to have the last word Judy swerved the car to the left smacking Nick's face into the bulletproof window.

"Ha. Ha." He rubbed his snout. That brought a smile to his face, along with pain. What has he turned her into.

They returned back to the station at their scheduled time, but not with the perps they were in charge of finding. Saving them quite a few sheets of paperwork, but an annoying feeling filling their hearts.

"What did we get? Twenty speeding tickets, three citations, four skipping a red. Right?" Nick quickly cited on a sheet and asking Judy to double check.

"One warning for assault." She looked up from her desk to look at the fox.

"You sure? I don't remember that. Maybe the time I got a window to the face...you know what?" He cleared his throat."Officer I would like to place charges on one Judy Hopps."

"Ooof, too bad I'm not on the clock anymore, one minute ago and you would have gotten me." She smirked and slid off her chair.

"The audacity." He picked up his notes and got off his chair and looked down at the rabbit.

"Thats a big boy word, ready to take off the diaper you borrowed from Finnick?" Judy started to walk toward the stairs that led to the exit.

"I don't know, is that another thing your into?" He brought back their 'discussion' from earlier only this time a fellow officer spat out her jumbo coffee.

"Okay see you tomorrow!" She started to speed walk down the steps and to the exit but was stopped by a certain cheetah.

"JUDY! Hi I haven't heard from you all day!" The chubby cheetah shouted, clasping his paws together.

" Sorry Ben, it's been a busy day." She told him, feeling just a bit bad that she hasn't talked to him.

"No probs I know how it is, by the way have you seen gazelles new app. Instead of dancing with her your become this. Her guitarist! Look!" He quickly pulled out his phone and showed her the app.

"Wait, how did you get a picture of me on it?" She asked him not remembering when he ever took one of her.

" Oh Furbook, I've been wanting to show you all day!" He squealed before turning the app back to himself as Nick caught up to Judy.

"Isn't it the same thing as the other app just with a guitar pasted on the tiger?" He questioned.

"NO!"

"Yes." Judy mumbled loud enough for Nick to hear.

"You still want to do something later?" Nick remembered and asked her. Benjamin gasped.

"EEEEE, you finally asked!" He bounced on his chair up and down, almost dropping his phone.

"Excuse me?" Nick asked quizzically cocking, his head to the side.

" A date, you asked her on a date!" Ben calmed down just long enough to say that.

"A date? No this is not a date.... Right?" He turned to look at Judy whose ears were bright red instead of their usual pink.

" Ummmm. Will we go out to relax? Yes." She took Nick's advice about answering questions at press conferences and made up her own one.

"And that's our cue to leave, Ben see you tomoorrooww." Nick drew out before turning around and walked toward the glass door.

"Bye." Judy waved her paw at him and hopped around to follow Nick.

"Check the times to see what's out and if we have enough time to change." Nick told her as they neared the garage that held Nick's rental car.

"On it, make sure I don't walk into a pole." She grabbed her fruit phone out of her vest and pulled up zoogle.

"You need to get a car by the way, I'm starting to think you should be paying me gas money." He joked, on the lookout for any poles.

"Remember those donuts? And leading you to a legal crime stopping career?You should be paying me." Judy quickly said while briefly looking up from the theater window on her phone.

"Smart widdle bunny." He cooed. "Here."

The two made it to Nick's red convertible. It has its kinks but it's better than taking a crowded musk filled bus. " Guess It's my turn to drive." Nick mused as he got into the drivers seat and leaned over to open the passenger door like the gentlefox he is. "Roof up or down?"

"Do you seriously need to ask?" Judy smirked at him." There is a showing in ten for that superhero movie if you want to see that?"

"Do you want to see that?" He remarked, not sure if that was her choice or just from her knowing that he wanted to see it.

" Why not, not every day a movie like this gets made." Judy thought, deciding if she is in the mood for an action packed movie after an un action packed day..."We're seeing the movie."

"Sounds good to me." Nick pulled out from his parking spot and drove out of the garage and into the beautifully lit night.

"Got everything?" Nick asked his off duty partner and shoved his keys in his shirt pocket.

"Yeah, wait let me take off my wrist guards off." She said as the noise of the velcro ripping apart filled the car.

"Just throw them in the back." Nick opened his door and set one paw on the sidewalk. Judy's door followed, she slid out of her seat and onto the street.

"Let's go m'lady." Nick walked up to her and hooked out his arm.

"Whoah Mr. Wilde, you're trying to seduce me. Aren't you?" She fanned her face exaggeratingly, But she did hook her arm through his.

"I'm paying for your ticket now." He smugly told her, impressed by her movie quoting. He started leading them to the entrance at a leisurely place. "So, do you want me to drop you off at your house later or are we going to explore the town more?"

"Hmm, good question. How about we head to-" She was cut off by a sudden yell.

"HELP! SOMEBODY!" A female's voice yelled out. Nick and Judy quickly looked at each other assessing the situation.

"It came from down that alley, get your taser out." Judy told Nick, but mainly she said it to herself. She started walking down the alley with Nick beside her.

"ZPD, Identify yourself!" Nick called out looking for any sign of movement, Judy was listening for any response. They kept walking down the alley going from cover to cover in case there was a firearm.

"Who's there!" Judy yelled out

"Put down your weapons and no one gets hurt!" The same voice called out from somewhere.

"Who's there!"Judy repeated pushing her and Nick behind a knee high brick wall.

"Don't make me repeat myself. I can get both you bunny, and your fox that has impressive....Green eyes." The stranger called out, telling Nick and Judy that if she did have a weapon she could take both of them down. The partners looked at each other, Judy nodded.

"Do what she says, don't make any sudden moves." She dropped her gun and stood up with her paws raised.

"I know... I don't know if I'm more worried that we can both die, or that she just flirted with me." Nick nervously joked, trying to calm them both down.

" Don't flatter yourself." The voice called out again.

"What do we do, what do we do?" Judy kept repeating to herself, causing her paw to tap the cement wildly.

"Look at me Judy." Nick got her attention." We'll get out of this." Judy took deep shaky breaths to calm down somewhat.

"Your right." Judy agreed.

Nick looked away as he saw a figure sliding down a gutter and down into the alley. A raccoon no older than seventeen stepped out of the shadows wearing a pink beanie and a hoodie, but menacingly holding a strange looking gun.

"Put the gun down, you said it yourself no one has to get hurt." Nick calmly told the girl. Two pops filled the air causing both animals to flinch and await their demise. All that followed after the pops were sharp pricks that jammed both of them in the chest.

"What I just injected you with is an experimental drug that my employer has provided me with in order to test. No harm will come to you but you will feel... no what? I'll let you find out for yourselves. Have fun, I'll be back after." With that, the raccoon climbed up the same gutter she slid down and disappeared from view.

"Quickly call 911, and keep calm. Take deep breathes." Nick told the rapidly shaking bunny as he pulled the blue feathered darts out of them. Judy quickly got back to her senses and pulled out her phone and dialed 911. Everything happened so fast, they were both dumbfounded.

911 What's your emergency?

"This is Officer Hopps and Officer Wilde. We have been shot with an unidpttt."
