Traptap 4: High Sorcery
#4 of Ryr'lif Adventures
I had written the majority of this story a while back, but now I've uploaded everything I've got, so it might be a bit slower from here on out.
Korriana, a kobold who is slowly turning into a dragon, is challenged to a duel that ends poorly.
Warnings...
Rape.
Also a couple even more controversial fetishes, like cuckoldry and serious physical abuse
A couple characters even die.
Oh, and plot, there's some amount of plot that happens.
Korriana looked at her people, scurrying about, unaware that at any moment a band of adventurers could show up and kill them all. She had apparently been learning for "only seven days," whatever days were, and it felt like her struggle to take control of her powers was coming to a close. Thalthas told her she had a talent for divination, the magic of awareness and prediction. She might be able to see into the future a bit, perhaps that was why she was such a good trapspringer.
On that note, she was beginning to wonder why they needed trapspringers. The Kobolds themselves were setting the traps to protect their home. With a little coordination, they could devise a system that allowed them to traverse the dungeon without needing to destroy and create new traps.
She saw a pair of kobolds arguing over a spear. She watched as they debated the quality, one having a particularly shiny rock they both agreed was worth a good spear. Korriana noted that the stone was actually a shard of glass, but the spear didn't look particularly well made.
"It stabs good," the weapon crafter boasted, "I stake my life on it."
So the other kobold stabbed him.
To Korriana's horror the transaction continued as normal, the weapon crafter bleeding profusely as he claimed his treasure. Korriana rushed to the pair, and yelled at the buyer scaring everyone in the vicinity away except the crafter who was having trouble walking.
"What is wrong with you?" Korriana shouted.
The craftsman scowled, clutching his wound, "My treasure! Not yours!"
Korriana slapped her brow. She had magic, but she never learned to cure wounds. If she tried to figure it out on the spot, she'd risk seriously harming him. She'd have to take him to Thalthas.
"Healing is outside my domain."
Korriana stared up at her Dragon in disbelief. He was magic he could do anything. Looking down at the injured craftsman he was already going through the process of justifying why the dragon wouldn't rather than couldn't. She had learned that different magic users used different magicks, but seeing Thalthas unable to help and trying to stand strong and distant about it... it hurt her on some level.
"Why?" Korriana demanded, "What would it take?"
Thalthas blew smoke out his nostrils before closing his eyes. He pondered not answering her, then returned to say, "I use elemental magic. I throw fire and ice, cause earthquakes and storms. Healing is Divine magic," he grimaced, "Or Primal... not sure why they can do that but they can."
"Then I can do it?" Korriana looked down at the craftsman who was starting to fade. She reached her claws down to the man and turned him over to expose his wound.
"I don't think so," Thalthas mused as though a man wasn't dying in front of him, "Most Diviners are Arcanists. I guess it's odd to say but Divination isn't necessarily Divine Magic..."
Korriana focused her mana into her claws and through her claws into the wound.
"I guess as an Elementalist, I don't get Divination... probably only Elemental doesn't include that. Weird. But that might..."
Korriana began to chant words she didn't know. They sounded like a random set of syllables, but felt just right for the task.
"...and I think maybe if you tried it could backfire horribly but since he's going to die anyways..."
Korriana felt a bit of her soul push into the crafter, as the blood dried and the wound closed. As she felt the spell dissipate, she noticed the healing wasn't perfect. He still had a small gash, but it wasn't bleeding and didn't look particularly deadly. It was surrounded by scar tissue that would probably remain for the remainder of his life. He'd live.
"...and those are really nice wings."
Korriana stood up and helped the craftsman to his feet. The kobold looked at her dumbfounded, and quickly dropped to his knees. The man buried his snout in the dirt and refused to look at her.
Korriana looked up at Thalthas, "What is he..." she gave pause noticing Thalthas' face full of lust for her, "What?"
"You're a healer," Thalthas grinned showing his intimidatingly massive fangs, "He's praising you."
Korriana looked down at the man, and felt a warm spot in her stomach, "You may rise," she tried for a noble tone.
The crafter stood quickly, but upon making eye contact he cowered again.
Korriana traded glances with Thalthas who gave a draconic shrug, so she smiled and dismissed their loyal subject.
"Thank you my Dragon," the crafter told her before running off.
Korriana watched in astonishment as the man scampered through the tunnel back to the village. He couldn't have possibly be talking to her, yet he was looking roughly in her direction when he said it.
As soon as the man had left from sight, she felt Thalthas' hands upon her wings. Her wings? She looked over her shoulder. She didn't have wings. Yet there they were, silver and glorious, like a little Dragon.
"And I thought you couldn't get cuter," Thalthas rubbed a human thumb over the shoulder of her wing, it gave her a pleasant chill.
Korriana lost herself into her first wing massage, moments after the limbs sprouted into existence. The feeling of his hands on her exposed back was also nice. The way he unclasped the collar of her robe and let it fall open, before reaching around to rub her chest, made her squirm. She gasped as he breathed into her ear, and untied her sash, letting her garment fall to the floor. He turned her around to look at him, kneeling but still shoulders above her. His human face giving a mischievous grin as he took in her full form.
"You're beautiful," Thalthas purred.
Korriana felt her face heat up. She didn't care as much for his human form, but his charm did shine through, and... he was still her Dragon hiding in that skin.
"Thank you my Dragon," Korriana bit her lip.
Thalthas smiled, and took her claw, then... shook his head. He stood and walked back to his mound of magicked fake money. Returning to Dragon form, he mounted the hoard and laid back where he rested.
Korriana stared up at her Dragon, utterly defeated by his advances, and truly devastated by his withdrawal. She tried to work through what she had said, and why that would be wrong. She stared to rush after him, then felt silly, put her robes back on, then joined him on the horde. Climbing up, she realized that the Dragon's true form wore no clothing and felt even sillier, but that didn't mean stripping again.
"I didn't mean to displease you," Korriana stated, "I'm not sure what I did wrong."
Thalthas blew out smoke, "You're a Dragon, Korriana."
Korriana felt that tinge of excitement again, but fought it down, "You're the only true Dragon."
They stared at each other for a moment before Thalthas turned away in embarrassment.
He groaned, "Before long you'll be as powerful as I am."
With Thalthas curled in a defensive ball, Korriana found a comfortable-ish position leaning into his outside shoulder. It took a while to get used to laying with her new wings, but eventually she stopped staring blankly at the ceiling.
Korriana woke to an empty horde. Thalthas rarely woke before her, and he rarely left his chamber. She scampered off to his treasure room, the one with his few real treasures, but he was missing. She returned to his illusionary horde to find that the front door to his chamber was fully open. The doors were dragon sized and were typically left open just enough for a kobold to slip through.
Korriana took an audible gulp and rushed into town.
The caves were lit with many torches, a ceremony seemed to be hand, and with kobolds only having so many traditions, Korriana made a guess at which one. She noticed the blue flame in the center of town from the height of the climb to Thalthas's chamber. It was an execution.
Thalthas had a perch in town that typically remained empty save for when the High Sorcerer spoke for the Dragon. This time the Dragon himself was perched there glaring menacingly at his subjects. Every kobold was present, and while they all were cowering, Korriana couldn't help but imagine that many were enjoying the experience.
As Korriana drew nearer, it the event became more clear. The High Sorcerer had demanded an execution of a heretic, and when permission was asked of the Dragon, Thalthas decided to be present. This was unheard of, but clear. The thing was, as Korriana drew closer, she came to realize who the heretic was.
The simple craftsman kneeled, claws bound, on the execution alter. He defiantly glared at the High Sorcerer, as the man condemning him to death. While the High Sorcerer made his claim, the Dragon took everyone else's attention by simply standing majestically.
"What I am saying," the High Sorcerer tried to retain his composure, "Is that there is only one Dragon, my Dragon."
The Dragon stared in disapproval but did not say anything.
"This man questions your supremacy," he pointed at the craftsman, "it is heresy, treason, and unkind. We cannot allow him to live under you."
The Dragon continued to stare unmoving, as Korriana approached from behind, unseen.
The High Sorcerer took a step back and bowed, "As your humble servant, I must make sure you're worshiped as you're due."
She didn't know what to do, but she distinctly felt responsible the craftsman's life, so she had to say something.
"And as such..." the High Sorcerer drew a jagged blade.
What was she going to say?
"...I offer his life to you..."
How could she stop this?
"...so your reign will go unquestioned..."
Otherwise unmoving Thalthas pushed Korriana forward with his tail. She gasped in surprise, and was thrown to her knees at the edge of the perch. As she stood, the audience began to shriek and point. The noise drowned out what the High Sorcerer was trying to say, so he too looked up.
As everyone stared, argued, and began to panic, Korriana found herself wanting to be as far away from the situation as possible. Her tail curled, her sight grew blurry, and she clinched her fists. The High Sorcerer fought for silence, but it didn't come until Korriana swallowed her fear and extended her wings to their fullest. In response, Thalthas raised his own wings to the same position, almost touching the roof of the cave.
Silence fell over the people.
Korriana's fears slipped away as she saw the countless faces of admiration and awe. She smiled and realized that everything was going to be alright. She even noticed a number of men look at her the way the women look at the Dragon. She had never felt so...
"Heresy!" the High Sorcerer shouted.
Korriana's confidence was immediately shattered.
"Wings don't make the Dragon," the High Sorcerer stated coolly.
Korriana cautiously looked up at Thalthas, noticing his statuesque stance, and realized she had made a mistake in doing so.
"The Dragon is strong," The High Sorcerer reminded his people, "This being is no stronger than any of you."
Korriana considered this, she hadn't ever been all that potent. Most watching were probably physically stronger than her.
"The Dragon is wise," the High Sorcerer drew the audience's approval, "This being was the last to show up and doesn't know our traditions."
Korriana's brow furrowed. This one wasn't true, she knew the traditions better than anyone, all three of them.
"The Dragon is true," the High Sorcerer turned back to Korriana to give her a death glare, "This being is untested."
Korriana suddenly realized what the High Sorcerer's plot was. She knew Thalthas did very little to lead the people, the High Sorcerer did all of the legwork. Seeing him falter before a being he just claimed could not exist, the people would question him. This could cause him to lose his standing. He needed to remove that possibility, which meant removing her.
Korriana looked out to the crowd and realized something ever more dire. If she proved to be a true Dragon, the people might be split on their worship between the two Dragons. This could divide the people in spirit causing a problem that Korriana wasn't prepared for. With the High Sorcerer's aid, maybe the problem could be handled, but without him she'd likely drive the people to extinction.
Considering her words carefully, Korriana tried for a balance, "I understand your doubt, but I shall prove my strength. Test me as you will."
Korriana felt a small thrill as she noticed the people pleased with that. This thrill was vanquished when she saw the sinister grin on the High Sorcerer.
"A duel!" The High Sorcerer demanded, as the crowd didn't seem to understand, he explained, "The Dragon is vastly more powerful than any Kobold, more powerful that all kobolds together. If I prove myself stronger, then this being is no dragon."
Korriana's heart sank, she was no fighter, but she didn't see a choice. She looked up at Thalthas, concern in his eyes warned her of yet another danger. If he helped her in any way, the situation would be made much worse.
"I accept," Korriana tried to sound strong, but the weakness in her knees had to be obvious.
Korriana leaped from the perch, letting her wings slow her decent. She didn't have time to consider how natural that felt. Landing a few feet away from the High Sorcerer, she took the moment to ready herself. She hadn't thought to bring her staff, but she was armed with her own magic, and Thalthas had expressed that she'd be much more powerful than any Kobold, so maybe she could handle this.
The High Sorcerer paced about her and grinned. The Kobolds had no set tradition for duels, so he explained the rules dramatically.
"We will fight with only our claws and our own magic," He stepped toward the alter placing down his jagged blade next to the bound craftsman, "no weapons or magical items to aid us."
Korriana sighed in relief, she was no good with a weapon anyways. She watched in amusement as he removed several pieces of jewelry, but suddenly grew embarrassed as he disrobed. She suddenly realized that his robes were enchanted... and so were hers.
"We will fight until one declares the other stronger," He let his robes drop to the floor exposing his muscled, if a little passed prime, body, "Or until the death should one remain stubborn."
The audience cheered at that statement, and watched as the High Sorcerer began to do his stretches, showing off his crimson scales and strong form. Korriana felt her face grow hot as she realized thousands of eyes were also on her. She sighed, and accepted his terms, untying her sash and letting her robes fall to the floor. The audience cheered as the viewed her naked body, her silver scales stretched over a softer, leaner body. For good measure, Korriana also removed all the jewelry Thalthas had given her.
As she strode to the opposite side the the speaking area, the audience cheered and whistled. The men she saw lusting for her earlier were the noisiest of them all. She looked up at Thalthas who was gazing down without any outward hint of emotion, though she could feel his worry anyways. She stared at her opponent, he was a head taller than her, and twice her weight, but it was a duel of magic, so that didn't matter as much as the years of experience he had on her. The crowd eventually grew quiet as the two stared each other down.
The Dragon roared, "Begin."
They both immediately incanted a spell, Korriana barely producing a shield in time to stop a pair of magic missiles. She saw him begin casting a daze spell, but knowing the spell herself, she easily countered it. He stepped forward, casting a fire spell of some sort, but Korriana predicted it, casting resist flames. The crowd gasped as she was engulfed with flames, then cheered when she stood unharmed.
The High Sorcerer then took a dramatic step forward, and cast something Korriana didn't recognize. She was too busy trying to decipher the spell that when it did nothing spectacular, she realized he began casting again before she had even begun a spell of her own.
Recognizing the next spell as a ray of frost, she sidestepped it like the many she'd seen as a trapspringer, and returned with an offensive spell of her own. She only knew one, but she was assured that it was the best. She cast sleep.
There was a stutter in his incantation as the High Sorcerer reacted to her spell in startled amusement. The spell had no effect whatsoever, and he didn't even need to struggle against it or throw up any countermagic. The muscular red kobold simply grinned as he finished casting his own spell with a flourish.
Korriana felt her body stiffen, her joints lock, and her heart race. She didn't know what he cast, but the effect was obvious. She struggled against unseen bondage, and watched in horror as the High Sorcerer casually strode closer. The crowd roared with excitement, as Korriana tried desperately to break free of the spell.
"This is a dragon?" The High Sorcerer shouted in mock astonishment.
Korriana watched in horror as the man balled a fist and punched her in the gut. The blow sent her to the floor, her face scratching against the gravel. She struggled to gain control of her limbs, nothing. Realizing he was approaching, she began to panic.
"This being cannot protect us," the High Sorcerer shouted.
Knowing she didn't stand a chance Korriana tried calling out to surrender. Her voice wouldn't come. His magic took her voice.
The High Sorcerer grabbed Korriana by the snout and dragged her to her feet. He easily lifted her over his shoulder, and threw her onto the executioner's alter next to the craftsman. Pain struck as her wings twisted wrong under her, but it was shallow compared to the glimpse she got of Thalthas.
His eyes were distant, emotionless, and uncaring. Thalthas was planning on doing nothing.
Korriana felt the pain in her stomach become much more real as her body suddenly needed to be in the fetal position. The spell had ended, but the agony was too great to move. She struggled, knowing he was ready to finish her, but all she could do was admit defeat.
"I yield," Korriana managed to whisper.
The High Sorcerer leaned in close to her, and growled, "What was that?"
Korriana tried to speak louder, but her voice was torn, "You win."
Thalthas's brow furrowed, as he leaned in to hear. The audience grew quiet, knowing their show to be over. The High Sorcerer looked up at his dragon and grinned a devious grin.
"Her spirit is strong!" The High Sorcerer spoke with a showman's bravado.
Thalthas searched Korriana's face for answers, but she quickly turned her head. She couldn't look him in the eyes. She had failed.
"Her body is broken," The High Sorcerer continued to play the crowd, "and yet she does not yield!"
Korriana's eyes shot open. She looked up at Thalthas, but he was back in his statuesque pose not daring to watch. He hadn't heard her.
***
The High Sorcerer Dragged Korriana off the alter down to the stage by her tail. The crowd roared as he pulled her up by the back of her neck and showed her to the crowd. Through the tears in her eyes, she saw countless kobolds jeering and hooting at her.
The High Sorcerer shouted something, but at this point, Korriana couldn't hear it. Whatever he was trying to do at this point, she lacked the drive to resist.
The High Sorcerer threw Korriana to her knees. Lacking the effort to catch herself, her face planted with a thud. A loud pain shot out of her flank as the High Sorcerer slapped her. The crowd cheered him on, as he rump another slap.
A hand grabbed her tail and lifted. Realization donning in her, Korriana looked up to her dragon one last time. His eyes were closed, his stance unwavering.
A testing finger brushed over her. She tried to cry out, but her voice wouldn't come. She looked to the crowd for help, but they had no sympathy for her.
She felt a prod part her ever so slightly. Her breath stopped. The crowd grew quiet. Thalthas's face grew painful.
The High Sorcerer took her with a single, painful thrust. Korriana cried in anguish to the sound of a roaring applause.
The muscular kobold wasted little time, pounding into her forcing her face to scrape along the gravel. He gave her no comfort, pinning her to the ground with one hand. He showed no mercy as he ravaged her.
He had taken her dry, but that didn't last. Korriana's shallow breathing was replaced with rapid pants as his painful pounding became more tolerable. She couldn't help but remember the way her Dragon had taken her, but this wasn't him.
The High sorcerer pulled her up by her twisted wings. Pain took her as she found voice enough to scream. As he continued to ram her, her scream twisted into a gasp of pleasure. The audience cheered at this, as Korriana realized she had been lifted up on display.
"Please..." She managed to whisper between gasps for breath, "please stop."
This only drove the High Sorcerer to fuck her harder. His strength was incredible. She felt like he was going to rip her in two.
Her body betrayed her. Her back arced in pleasure, her toes curled, and her passage tightened around him. He had won.
The High Sorcerer threw her back to the ground and grabbed her by the ass, ramming hard enough that she no longer registered the pain. His pace became erratic. She knew it was coming, and a part of her wanted it.
The High Sorcerer claimed her with a final, earthshaking thrust. He filled her with his seed, overflowing onto the stage. The crowd roared, as Korriana twitched into what she would never admit to. Everyone saw her, they knew. She came just as he had.
The High Sorcerer dropped Korriana to the ground, her body flopped like a rag doll. She watched as the crimson kobold approached the alter. He threw on his robes in a flash of showmanship, and turned to the audience.
"And now," He shouted revealing a ceremonial knife in hand, "For the execution!"
At that moment a loud hiss of steam engulfed the alter. The crowd gasped and screamed in terror, as Thalthas had decided he had enough. He bellowed his breath weapon for what seemed like an eternity. The noise was incredible enough that the crowd was a whisper in comparison.
Thalthas settled back into his position and glared over the crowd as the steam began to settle. It was a full minute before either kobold was visible. Though their bodies were cooked, the High Sorcerer was still standing.
The room was hot with tension far beyond what the steam could manage. Korriana tried to stand, but her arms wouldn't obey. She tried to speak, but her voice wouldn't come. She tried to look at her dragon, but her will was shattered.
"Leave us!" Thalthas commanded his people, and in an instant they were gone.
Thalthas climbed down to Korriana and picked her up with his giant claw. He put her between his wings, and carried her away. Though her body was broken, she found the position oddly comforting.
When he made it to his chambers, Thalthas closed the door and shifted into his human form. He carried Korriana in his arms, and she fell into a deep sleep.
She woke in a bed. It was a strange sensation that she had only experienced once before, and it would have been more welcome if it weren't for the fact that she didn't know where she was.
The walls were white, and there was strange wooden furniture. A large symbol she had seen before but never knew what it meant was detailed on several wall hangings. There were many other beds in the room, some occupied by sickly members of various races.
Korriana looked at herself, realizing she had somehow shifted into elf form, and was wearing some sort of white sleeping gown. An elderly human in heavy robes noticed her and smiled weakly. She got out of bed surprisingly easily and approached the man.
"You've recovered well," the man stated.
Korriana tried to return his smile, but couldn't find it in her. She had to wonder, "Where am I?"
The man laughed lightly, "Forgive me, I am just happy to see you well," he wiped a tear from his eye, "You are at the Temple of Dande, in Evenwood."
The words meant nothing to Korriana. She stared blankly at him, hoping he could answer the question she couldn't bring herself to ask.
"A man asked us to watch after you," the Savant explained, "He gave us a rather generous donation, and asked us to watch over you."
Korriana felt tears well up in her eyes.
"He left you some things," he smiled weakly, "but he did express that he would not be coming back."
Korriana felt her legs attempt to sit in a chair that wasn't there. Her butt collided with the floor and she sunk to laying on her side. Her body shut down, as her tears flowed onto the tiled floor.
Her dragon had left her.
