Dondrae is alive and Pawel now has Yaleen's brother Aldor. However, Dondrae's wounds are starting to worsen and only Aldor knows of a hidden cache of drugs nearby, but at the moment he is unconscious with no guarantee of waking.

Drug Run

We made a grave mistake invading Earth by force. Our attempts at a diplomatic annexation could be described as pitiful at best, demanding a full and unconditional surrender.

Merely offering them some token pieces of technology would have put them in our sphere for a thousand years. They might not have called themselves vassals, but they would be, in spirit.

Well, it's too late for regrets now. We still must salvage the situation and introduce new advances to our latest conquest, so that we might gain their trust.

It is criminal that we haven't shipped Litcillium to the planet yet. It is by far superior to any anti-biotic that the natives have; they have not even invented Smart Antibiotics yet and their current batches grows less effective every year. We need to help them out.

And of course, we can make a big show of it to make sure they know who they have to thank. Benevolence and pragmatism are not mutually exclusive.

I signed up and fell into rank.

Saluted when they told me to. Jumped when they ordered it.

Traveled a long way from home.

The jungle was teeming with life outside our concrete shelter.

Glistening scales lurked between the leaves.

They were out there.

Our guns were ready for them.

No.

I saw him.

The lion stepped into the room.

He was ready to die with us.

The rest of us were relieved. Mostly humans and a few Vulpies.

They saw him as our beloved General.

But all I saw was him, the same lion that was over the black-haired girl.

The same one who waited for me.

I heard her scream.

I raised my gun and fired.

The lion fell.

My eyes slowly fluttered open. Coarse, gray furs were bristling up against my face. I sighed and rubbed my face against the solid chest beneath the forest of hair, breathing in the earthy musk.

Dondrae was still.

I sprang up and climbed over his chest. His mouth was hanging open, tongue lolling out onto the floor.

“Wake up! Wake up!" I shook him by his thick shoulders. “Wake up!"

A high-pitched whine rolled out of Dondrae's throat as he opened his eyelid and collected his tongue back into his mouth. Licking his lips, he peered at me with his one remaining blue eye, “Pawel?"

Gasping with relief, I leaned in and kissed my love on the tip of his nose, which was dry and rough. Dondrae scratched at his brow, just above the eye-patch covering up his wound that he borrowed from Aldor, which added another spot of black to his face.

“I'm sorry, I thought..." I trailed off, running my hand across Dondrae's nose which caused him to grumble, “your nose is dry."

Dondrae chuckled, “It's cold and dry out," he said. It was true, it was another chilly, dark morning in Quartz. Dondrae's pink tongue whipped out across his nose and he smiled, “Better now?"

His nose glistened with saliva. It wasn't the same as normal and he knew this, but I didn't press the matter. I told myself that perhaps he was just catching a cold or a flu, just to avoid thinking about the worst case scenario.

“Keep it down!" Yaleen whispered to us. I flicked on my flashlight and saw a red tail poking out of a brown jumpsuit huddled over her brother's body. “Talos is awake."

“Who?" I asked.

Yaleen looked back at us, her pupil's flashing yellow as the beam of light reached her, contrasting with her green iris. She motioned towards the body laying on the ground.

“Kurwa!" I crawled towards them, nearly flinging myself across the floor. Sure enough, Aldor's emerald eyes were open, though they stared off into the distance with a soulless look to them. Dried blood still caked the cream fur around his muzzle.

“H-hello..." Aldor whispered, not looking at me. His nose sniffed at the air, “looks like you beat me."

“Talos, is it?" I asked, repeating over and over in my head not to say his real name for Dondrae's sake.

“A little impolite of me..." he coughed, “to not have introduced myself before making love."

Rolling my eyes, I asked, “Is that what you call it?"

“You didn't enjoy it?"

The urge to announce his name grew stronger but my love for Dondrae overrode that.

Dondrae had taken his place by our side, not letting his injury slow him down. He grabbed my flashlight and held open Aldor's eyelid, squinting as he examined his eyes with the beam.

“Don't damage the retinas!" Yaleen hissed.

“Ha! The sweet vixen wants me to forever gaze upon her beauty!" Aldor laughed, casting away the weak rattle in his voice. “I know I must be irresistable, but the last thing I need is that...foxpox or whatever it was!" his voice hushed but was still loud enough for anyone in the room to hear, “But I think I have a good chance with the furless one!"

Aldor winked at me, sending chills down my spine.

“He seems fine," Dondrae grumbled. His grip tightened around my flashlight and for a moment I thought he was going to club Aldor across the face, but instead he passed it over to me. “Might have some brain-damage though. Can't tell if he's acting stupid, became, or always has been this way."

“I'm not an Emperor anymore, so I might as well drop the regal pretense!" Aldor's maw opened in a cheerful yap. “Anyone wanna give me a tuggy? My arms are pretty numb!"

“Goddammit," I scowled at Yaleen, who had a bitter frown at the corner of her muzzle. Somehow, I doubted this was the person her brother was before the memory alterations, at least, I hoped so. I don't think I could stand not giving him a nine millimeter memory alteration after the journey was over if he didn't have a major personality adjustment. I still felt grimy after he mounted me.

“Well, you haven't killed me yet! Most others on Planet would have by now," Aldor smiled, “so, why?"

I bit my lip and looked to the others. Yaleen's tail lashed violently and Dondrae's head was hanging low. Aldor was toying with us.

It was time to cut to the chase and we were at a disadvantage. Appealing to emotion or morals would be useless, Aldor couldn't give less of a shit about Dondrae's health and why would he? If it was just a matter of taking him off-planet as Yaleen wanted, we could have just tied and gagged him, dragging him along with us, but we needed him to talk now.

I was prepared to do anything to get the location of the anti-biotics. Anything. Scenarios flashed through my head, most of them involving sexual favors, and regardless of how absurd or sickening they were, I told myself I would do them.

Dondrae needed me.

“You have anti-biotics back at your hideout. Where is it?"

Aldor peered over at Dondrae, “I see..."

I slapped him lightly on the jowls, “Look at me, not him."

“Sure, I'll guide you."

I blinked.

“Surprised?"

I shook my head and ignored him, getting to my feet, “Let's get him in the Hauler and move out."

Yaleen and I wrapped his arms around around shoulders, leaving Dondrae to take a breather, and lead him out of the tavern and into the silent dawn of Quartz.

If only Aldor was as silent.

“You're wondering..." Aldor muttered, “...why I'm being so cooperative?"

Neither of us responded. Despite being from opposite sides of the galaxy and completely different social groups, we seemed to have a way of letting the other know when to keep silent. Unfortunately, it didn't do too much good this time and Aldor kept on talking.

“I could have asked for anything," Aldor suddenly nudged his nose into my cheek, “humans give the best blowjobs, don't they?"

Hot air brushed against my cheek as Aldor sniffed me. He then turned and did the same to his sister.

“Bet both of you were hoping I'd ask for something like that, huh? I can smell it on you."

He nearly slipped on one of the steps leading down from the tavern and we were still merciful enough to stop him from landing face-first into the dirt. It didn't stop him from talking.

“It's because I know you'll both come to me willingly, oh yes," Aldor lightly licked at my cheek. It would have been so easy to just grab his broad tongue by the tip and yank it out, “both of you will fall in love with me."

We approached the Hauler from behind and gave Aldor boost into the flatbed. His tail slapped me in the face as he fell gently into the back onto his chest.

“See? You're already eating out of my paws..."

I tugged sharply at his tail and he yelped with pain. Laughing anxiously, he continued, “Fiesty! I like!"

Spitting in disgust, we stepped away from the Hauler as Aldor continued his lusty ramblings. Dondrae slipped out of the tavern with his rifle in hand. I was surprised to see Jack on his heels, the little gray Vulpeculan wielding his flamethrower once again.

“Jack?"

“I owe you guys one, don't think for a second I'm not gonna pay you back!" Jack slapped the nozzle of his flamethrower. “Besides, I bet they've got some goods we could use! You guys get the pick of the litter though, we're already gonna be rich! You know how much the Regulians pay for the fireballs?"

“Thanks, Jack," I slapped him on the shoulder, which shook him up a little bit.

“Bringing a friend along too!"

Jack peered back at the tavern just in time for a brown Ursine to emerge from the door. He was shirtless, showing off his round but powerfully built body, save for a strap wrapped around his torso that carried a massive bolt-action rifle that looked almost like an anti-tank weapon, but he wielded it like it was a .22 plinker.

“Erges," he introduced himself, taking a puff of his redweed cigarette, “thanks fer savin' us."

Erges didn't say anything more and stepped off towards Jack's truck.

“Alright," I nodded, turning back to Yaleen and Dondrae, “who sits in the back with Al-, I mean, Talos?"

We quickly learned that there would be no chance of any of us accidentally naming Aldor. No, we never got used to referring to him as Talos, instead we gave him a new nickname that was far catchier.

“Hey, Kurwa!" I called back over my shoulder, taking my eyes off the road for a second. “You said South, right?"

“Yeah!" Aldor called back from the flatbed. “What does that word mean?"

“Everything and nothing..." I muttered, flashing Dondrae a laugh. Neither him nor Yaleen understood what that word meant yet either, but they knew it was vulgar, so they started referring to Aldor by it as well.

Dondrae was in good spirits, keeping a smile on his lips and never showing any signs of pain, at least when he knew I was watching. I caught him a few times gritting with pain as he rubbed his brow. He could tell when I was nervous or trying to hide something, so I kept my worries buried deep within my stomach, not daring to let them escape.

“You humans have weird words," Aldor groaned, “but I'm going to assume that it means, 'sexy.'"

“Keep dreaming you rat fuck."

“Rat! That's an animal from your home planet! A fine compliment!"

“What the fuck is he on about?" I muttered to Dondrae who shrugged, rubbing at the bridge of his muzzle.

“Humans keep calling me 'foxy,' and I understand that's also an animal and a byword for sexy! Clearly, a rat must be a handsome cr-"

I swerved the Hauler to the right, hitting a dip in the ground. Crates rattled violently in the back, drowning out Aldor's pained yelps.

“Hey, don't do that," Dondrae whispered.

“Someone's gotta shut him up."

“I know, but just, try to hold off for my sake."

I looked over to Dondrae, he was still running his fingers across his muzzle and up around his face, massaging gently at his skin. He wouldn't say it, he was trying to keep me calm, but he was in pain. I could see it and it made me feel like shit, yet I couldn't directly apologize without making him realize that I was aware.

So I slowed down the Hauler to a crawl, leaned over to the side and kissed Dondrae on the side of his cheek. He replied silently with a tiny curl of his lips into a smile.

As I kicked the Hauler back into a gallop, the moment was ruined by an unwanted bellow.

“How sappy!" Aldor mocked with a yappy laugh. “If you're going to delay us, you might as well pull over and rut in the dirt!"

I tapped my foot on the brake and carefully brought the Hauler to a halt. I turned off the engine and peered back at the flatbed, finding Aldor with a shit-eating grin across his red and white muzzle while Yaleen was scanning the horizon, doing everything possible to ignore her brother.

“You said South, yes?" I asked slowly, reaching for my backpack.

“Yes!"

“For how long?" I reached into the backpack, rustling through all the packaged food and clothing.

“Five hours at least."

“Great!" I pulled out a dirty sock that somehow smelled more noxious than Aldor's Vulpeculan musk, along with a roll of duct tape.

“What the hell are you doing!?"

I leaped from the front of the Hauler, landing with a thud in the flatbed, and pounced atop Aldor. Despite his injuries, he began to thrash violently so Yaleen helped me pry his muzzle open wide enough for me to stuff the sock in, just behind his front teeth. I tore away pieces of duct tape, wrapping a loop around the middle of his snout, with another strip running from it, across his lips and around the sock, forming a makeshift animal muzzle.

Aldor tried to complain but the gag was muffling the sound and just about all he could manage to spit out was a trail of drool from the corner of his lips. It distracted him enough that I was able to tape his wrists together without him noticing.

“Five hours of silence, at least," Yaleen sighed as she released her brother and collapsed against the rim of the flatbed.

“It's better than nothing," I said as I dunked the roll of tape back into the backpack.

Muffled guttural shrieks in Vulpeculan cried out from behind me as I strapped back into the driver's seat, which were quickly smothered by the rumble of the motor as I fired up the Hauler once again.

“Better than nothing..."

Heading South had an advantage at least. Yaleen told me that her plan for getting us off Planet involved going back the way we came, which I wasn't exactly keen on, as that meant driving back through Sirth's core territories; but she insisted that the plan would only work there. She would not go into greater detail until we finished up all of our remaining business.

Which, at this point, meant raiding Aldor's gang's hideout. I will thank Yaleen for this much, she never complained about this detour. She never told me, that's not her style, but I like to think she knew how much this meant to me. She had everything she wanted at this point but she did nothing but cooperate and I will forever be grateful.

“This the place?" I asked back into the flatbed, pointing at an outcrop of lush, evergreen, bushes in the middle of the cracked, dusty grounds of what used to be a tiny lake; but knowing Planet, it could have always been that way.

Aldor groaned and banged his shoulder against the floor of the truck. Grumbling, Yaleen wrapped her gloved paw around the gag and ripped it away, along with the tape. Pink skin now circled Aldor's muzzle, the fur having been pulled out after repeated removals of the tape when we had to ask for directions. It made him look as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside.

“Y-yes!" Aldor gasped, tongue hanging out of his jaw as he spat onto the floor. “What the hell have you stepped in, human? Your sock tastes worse than an Equuleian's asshole!"

“You'd know, wouldn't you, Kurwa?" I lightly tapped him across the side of the muzzle with my backhand, pulling back just in time to avoid him snapping his jaws, teeth clicking together. Undeterred, I continued. “There's no one waiting for us in there, right?"

“You've already killed every friend I have on Planet..." Aldor trailed off, sniffing his little black nose with melodramatic sorrow.

“Uh huh, you sure seemed broken up about it when you were calling yourself Emperor..." I shrugged my shoulders and swung off the flatbed, kicking up dust as my feet slammed into the dry earth.

Jack and Erges stepped towards me, having left their truck a few feet away, the tiny gray Vulpeculan a stark contrast to the hulking brown Ursine. Jack was wearing a brown, leather jacket and matching pants that tightly clung to his bony legs down to his boots. Erges still didn't see the need to wear a shirt or perhaps he thought his massive rifle was all the clothing he needed, but he still wore a pair of olive pants with pouches full of massive magazines strapped to the legs.

I turned back towards the Hauler, addressing Dondrae and Yaleen, “Keep an eye on the prisoner, we'll check it out."

Yaleen flashed a silent salute over her forehead while Dondrae merely waved, finding it harder to hide the growing pain in his head.

I nodded at Jack and Erges, motioning for them to follow me. We stepped towards the bushes, slowly scanning the horizon for signs of any trouble.

Breaking my shotgun open, I filled both chambers full of buckshot and slammed it shut. I sniffed at the air, taking in the musty scent of dry dust.

“My snouted friends," I announced, “do you smell any intruders?"

“Aren't we the intruders?" Jack asked.

“Dammit man!" I laughed. “This is no time for semantics! Answer the question!"

“Dust," they both said in unison.

I snorted, “Guess we humans have decent noses after all."

Despite everything, I found myself trying to break the mood, something I would have never imagined doing when I first woke up on Planet. Always figured I was on the gloomy side and I guess I was. I knew who I had to thank for this change and I couldn't let him down.

What was I like before the mind-wipe? I wondered to myself. Was I gloomy? Cheerful? It was strange to think of my original self as another being, but that was really the truth of the matter.

Of course, if I knew what I was like back then, I would have had a stroke. Perhaps it was better off that I didn't know.

Only a few steps into the bushes and my foot hit something hard with a metallic thump. Scraping away the dust with the top of my boot, I found a thick ring looped around a trapdoor.

Jack kneeled down in front of it, prepared to pull open the door and peer inside, but I slapped my palm on his chest. Peering my eyes from Jack, then to Erges, and then to the sides of the door, I sent them a message that they immediately understood and stepped to each side. Jack twisted the fireball attaches to his hip and gripped the nozzle tightly, prepared to send a blast of flames down if needed.

I slapped Jack on the shoulder and shook my head at him. He tilted his head in confusion before stepping back, realizing that perhaps burning up the cache below was a bad idea.

Kneeling down by the front of the door, I pointed to Erges and then the door. Erges reached down, hooking his claws into the ring and flung the door open.

We listened, Jack's ears twitching wildly towards the trapdoor, but heard nothing. Inhaling quietly, I learned over slowly, peering down into the hole and finding nothing but darkness, save for a thin metal ladder shooting up from the abyss.

I inched towards the hole and put one foot on the step. I flicked on my flashlight and caught the flicker of two glowing eyes below.

“Kurwa!" I fired off both barrels downward and jumped away, landing on my back. I breathed in and out, lungs heavy with panic.

The fear only grew worse when my ears stopped ringing and I was able to hear the pained rattling of the person below, his hollow breaths groaning through the tunnel leading to the surface. They wouldn't stop, he kept on breathing hopelessly, occasionally crying out in some tortured tongue.

Hands quivering, I split open the shotgun, letting the hissing, spent shells fall onto the dirt, and grabbed two fresh ones. I struggled to get them in, the screams from below giving me the shakes.

Erges finally stepped in, lowering the barrel of his massive rifle into the pit. After a moment's contemplation, the gun exploded with an ear-splitting burst.

The screams stopped.

Cursing, I shoved the shells into the chambers and began crawling back to the hole.

“No," Erges held out his massive palm, “I'll go."

“I''ll handle it," I insisted. My eyes lowered towards the hole, a pitiful sadness welling in my stomach, “I owe him that much."

“Don't owe the dead nothin'," Erge spat onto the ground.

“No one deserves to go like that," I said, flashing the beam of light down into the hole. It was not very large, the bottom chamber being a tiny dirt pit but it was large enough that I could only see the boots of the assailant below. They were still.

I doubted there was anyone else down there, so my descent was speedy. Once I was about halfway down and confirmed that the pit was as small as I thought it was, I slid down. The only crate that wasn't pressed up against the dirt walls had all its ambush space taken up by the rest of the poor bastard's body. I didn't want to look at him, didn't even want to know what species he was.

A white crate caught my eye immediately and I effortlessly slid the lid off. The word, “Litcillium," stood out to me and I snatched it up, opening up the tiny cardboard box and finding a full set of small, triangular tablets. This was what I wanted, what Dondrae needed. I sighed, almost sobbing with relief.

Throwing the box into my pack, I jumped away from the crate and took a step on the first rung of the ladder. Something green flickered in the dark behind me and I turned around, towards the body.

It couldn't be…

Slowly, I stepped off the ladder and inched towards the deceased soul. Rounding the corner of the crate, my heart skipped a beat when I saw a thick, scaled tail leading out from the pulped lower body.

No.

Emblazoned upon the remnants of the Lacertan's black chest armor was a green spiral. The same one that was on my Hauler's decal.

One of Sirth's men.

Others would not be far.

I jumped onto the ladder and flung myself up, scrambling onto the surface. Both Jack and Erges were staring at me with shock.

“We need to go, now!"

Jack's lips quivered, “Bu-"

“Now!"

I sprinted blindly back towards the trucks, the steps of the others behind me being the only sign that they were following. It probably would have been best for them if we split, Sirth's gang wanted me, not them.

Dust kicked up on the horizon as three trucks made their presence known and they were barrelling straight towards us. I caught the slightest hint of a muzzle flare, no bigger than a match flame, and I fell to the ground.

More pained cries rang out from behind me and I peered back. Erges had hit the dirt safely, but Jack was not so lucky. Blood poured from the small Vulpy's right leg and he tried in vain to plug up the wound with his paw.

“Get Jack to th' truck!" Erges snarled at me.

“Are you crazy!?"

“I'll cover ye'," Erges slapped the barrel of his heavy rifle, “got more gun."

“Kurwa..." I hissed. If Dondrae or Yaleen had asked me to do this, I would have done it in a heartbeat. Erges though, I didn't know him, only had Jack's word to back him up and I barely knew Jack at that. Part of me said to ditch them, stick to the dirt and crawl back to the Hauler, where Dondrae and Yaleen were returning fire.

But I didn't.

I sprinted towards Jack, keeping my head down, and scooped up the Vulpy, pulling him over my shoulders and hauled ass towards to Hauler. Jack was light, but still heavy enough that I couldn't run while crouched, making us a big target.

A heavy crack rang out from behind us and I could have sworn I saw the air split in half as the bullet from Erge's rifle screamed through the air. A cloud of gray dust erupted from one of the distant trucks. Another shot follow shortly after, at speeds I could not have imagined from that Ursine's rifle. What a wonderful weapon, I only hoped that it wasn't another experimental Regulian weapon.

“My truck..." Jack hissed.

“Quiet!"

“Take me to my truck!"

I must have gone nuts, because I swerved to the right, breaking all kinds of battlefield safety rules. If Erges had blown my chest open, I wouldn't have blamed him; thankfully though, he didn't.

My chest collapsed against the hood of the truck, just after a burst of gunfire thumped in the dirt behind me. Punching the hood in a moment of frustration, I circled around to the driver's door, swung it open and nearly tossed Jack inside.

“Jack, your leg-"

“I'll deal with it," Jack grunted adjusting himself in the seat, “wait for the signal."

“What si-?"

“You'll know, take cover by the hood."

Not having the time for any more questions, I hit the dirt and dragged myself over to the front of the truck and hiding in the shade of the hood. I peered around the corner slightly, watching the trucks grow gradually larger and their gunfire louder.

A flaming arrow shot across the sky and struck one of the trucks with a burst of flames. Even at this distance, I could see the truck flip over and collide with one of the others.

Deciding that was the signal, I darted across the battlefield. I never knew that Jack's flamethrower could shoot that far, another beautiful weapon that I'd never get to keep and this one was a Planet-made weapon through and through. I could never forget it.

The Hauler rumbled towards me, zig-zagging on the ground. Dondrae had one paw on the wheel and was using the other to blindly fire back. I ran up to the side of it, jumping out of the way when it suddenly jerked towards me. Dondrae pulled his gun back into the truck, allowing me to jump onto the rim of the flatbed. My foot slipped, slapping the ground, and I clutched onto the railing, struggling to pull myself aboard.

A gloved paw suddenly grabbed my arm. I threw my shotgun into the back and reached over with my free hand and jumped aboard, falling onto my face in front of Yaleen.

Panting, I righted myself up, grabbed Yaleen by the shoulders and kissed her once on each cheek. It was awkward, especially since I've never done something like that platonically before, but she didn't seem to think it strange.

Aldor groaned with disgust, “So help me, if you start an orgy..."

Bracing myself on the frame of the truck, I swung forward into the passenger seat.

“Should I be jealous?" Dondrae laughed.

I quickly kissed him on the shoulder, it was no time to make out with the driver. I pulled out the box from my pack, popped out a pill and handed it to him. Dondrae flung the tablet into his mouth, crunched it up with his teeth, and swallowed.

“Feel better already..." he muttered, swerving the wheel sharply to the right.

“Hey! What about-!"

I peered out the window towards Erges, who was still firing his rifle like a madman towards the one truck that was still moving. Jack's truck pulled up next to him, providing some cover.

“We can't let them catch up with us," Dondrae said, “we gotta get out of here."

“Kurwa! Where's the kind wolf I fell in love with!?" I made a half circle with my finger. “Let's swerve around them and give our friends some covering fire!"

Dondrae's long mouth opened to object but he quickly closed it and smiled.

His automatic rifle thumped against my chest.

“Don't scratch up my gun!"

I poked the rifle out the window and leaned into it. The sights were not designed for humans and were hard to line up with my eyes. It was also strange and I only noticed it now, that the cocking handle was very far down the rifle, likely to prevent it from slapping against alien snouts.

The Hauler gradually swung around further to the right and Dondrae hit the gas. We gradually grew closer to the enemy's flank. As soon as I was able to make out the color of their scales, I opened fire.

The rifle's stock slammed into my chest like a jackhammer, giving me what would later become one hell of a bruise. This was a higher caliber than the average human was used to and if it weren't for the windowsill bracing it, I would have lost control. Sparks danced off the metal of the truck as bullets slammed into it.

Sirth's men tried to return fire, but I wasn't letting up and most were only able to fire off a round or two before ducking under cover.

A spider web of cracks formed on the driver's side of the windshield and the truck slowed down. The rifle clicked and I popped the magazine out, receiving a second one from Dondrae, which I slammed back in, cocked the handle, and began anew.

By the time we were past them, the enemy's truck was a mess of gray holes. The Lacertans were either dead or too afraid to come out of hiding.

“Jack got the Ursine!" Yaleen called back.

I peered into the side mirror and caught a glimpse of Jack's truck speeding off in the opposite direction. They'd be safe. If the Lacertans were alive, they'd have surely recognized me and would make me a priority; and if they weren't, well, dead men tell no tales.

For now though, we were in the clear. It was not long before we were alone once again in the dusty steppes. I gave a quick prayer for Jack, his leg looked bad and I wanted him to get better. I wouldn't likely ever meet him again.

Hell, there's a lot of people I wouldn't likely ever see again.

It was time to leave Planet.
