#47 of Music Story

The rabbit proves to be quite difficult to capture, unless, of course, the group has a trick up their sleeves.

"Yeah, and what about you?" Tobias asks, holding fistfuls of paper in his hands."

"I didn't come back from the dead to be beaten by some punk," Jay responds, climbing over the vent once more and making his way to the far side of the roof.

Tobias glances down at the papers he's secured, flipping through the stack and growling. "Dangit. If we weren't lookin' for the mouse, she'd be the one to send these things to."

A chime indicates someone else entering the call, and Arya's voice pipes in. "Where are you two? I thought they were heading down this road."

"Sorry, ba- Boss," Tobias says. "Got a few papers on here that are a bit above my GED."

"You actually graduated?"

"Hey! I got top ranks in my squad. That's gotta count for something... you know, aside from the dishonorable discharge."

"Just bring them to me, and I'll take a look. I'm guessing we're not catching our rabbit.

"Not quite," Tobias says, grinning a sharp grin. "To catch a rabbit, you have to know to lay the right trap."

Back up on the roof, Jay puts on a burst of speed and leaps across to the neighboring building. The rabbit is on the other side already, catching his breath. His ears and eyes perk up when Jay tumbles onto the roof. The rabbit then springs up, but this time, he doesn't run away. Instead, he runs forward towards Jay, and hops up for another kick.

Jay steps to the side this time, and then gives the rabbit a firm right cross.

The rabbit ducks, then flips forward, bringing his heel towards Jay's head.

Jay leans back, gritting his teeth as the heel brushes against his nose and then slams into the ground. "Damn, kid!"

The rabbit says nothing as he spins for another kick, but Jay spins himself, his tail latching onto the appendage. The rabbit tangles up into it and the two males collapse onto the roof together, Jay tugged down on top of him.

The rabbit puffs out his cheeks in frustration as Jay smiles down at him. "Listen, this is nice and all, but I got a girlfriend. So, I'll settle for the location of the new club."

The rabbit spins around again, catching onto Jay's tail and sending him flying over him as he pushes up to a standing position.

Jay tumbles on the ground, scuffing up his pants. The rat gets on one knee and glances at his quarry. "If you run... I'm gonna chase you still!"

The rabbit bounces on his feet and actually has the gall this time to smirk before he turns around and heads towards the next roof.

"Arya, Tobias, you copy?" Jay asks, panting. "This guy has such stamina."

"Probably from all the pounding he takes on the regular," Tobias says. "I once knew a marathon runner. Boy, did we marathon in bed one time."

"We're on the other side," Arya says. He's got a head start."

"Dammit!" Jay punches the ground. "And we were so close, too."

"Hey man, chill out. It's not like we're the only ones out here."

"Say what?"

The rabbit hops down from the roof to the smaller building. He then climbs down that fire escape and onto a nearby dumpster. Once down, he leans against the wall, clutching his chest and catching his breath. He shakes his head, giggling as he thought of thwarting both guys so easily. He then pushes himself away and begins to saunter down the alley and to the opposite street. No way is he heading back to the old club, at least not today.

As he takes a few steps, something stings at his neck. He yelps and grabs at it, only to feel something big and metallic on it. He pulls it out and immediately drops the dart, not from any fear or surprise, but from lack of control. He stumbles back, crashing into the trash. Some cans roll aside while he lands in a pillow of plastic bags.

A few minutes pass, and the rabbit tries to pull himself up, but he's too tired, too woozy. Then, a dark figure approaches him, wearing a hat and a jacket that makes him more at home out in the Savannah than in the streets of a city. The coyote looks down at him and smirks. "Wel, now. You just survived a hunt against Tobias. Count yourself lucky. But if he can't do the job, be sure that Jack will."

The rabbit's eyes roll back as he loses consciousness, soon falling into a doze. Jack pulls out his own phone and calls. "Hey, Tobias. Yeah. I got him. Wasn't too hard. Yeah, let's meet at the usual place." He snickers and then pockets his device. "Come on, buddy," He says, draping the rabbit over his shoulder and hoisting him up. "The middle of the afternoon is no time to get wasted." He waves to a passerby as he takes his friend across. "Sir, can you help me get my friend in my car? He's had too much to drink. Yeah, yeah, that's what I just told him. Right. Thanks so much. You're a real hero."

With that, the rabbit is taken off of the street and into Jack's van, the coyote whistling a happy tune as he takes the target off of the street.

The young rabbit groans as he slips back into consciousness. When he awakens, the cool air against his soft fur is what makes him jolt awake. He tries to move, but his arms and legs are sore, his wrists bound behind him and his ankles tied to the legs of the chair. He yelps and glances around, only for a bright light to shine upon him.

"Well, rise and shine. Glad to see you up and, well, not too about," Jack says, standing behind the light. "But I certainly hope you find the accommodations here to be tranquil enough for you. Don't worry about the ties. If you need anything at all, my associate and I are ready to give you a hand."
