Neebis and Reevian started packing up their stall, both of them were exhausted as they put away the cooking utensils and folded away the awning. Neebis could tell that something was bothering Reevian, he caught her glancing at him out the corner of her eye with a stern look on her face. He wasn't sure if he had done something wrong but at this time of night he was just too tired to find out. They both finished locking up the stall and slowly padded their way up to their apartment. Neebis started to make teas as he usually did while Reevian went straight to the bathroom to shower alone. He left her tea on the counter and took his to their bed, with a soft thump he flopped down on the bed and lay on his back, letting gravity help stretch his back and neck. He enjoyed working at the market with Reevian, but the constant hunching over the sink did a number on his neck each day.

He stared up at the ceiling, the ideas of somehow having a delivery service for their stall still floating around his head. There was no way that he could deliver all the orders they did, and leaving Reevian alone to handle the rushes wasn't fair. His stomach dropped at the thought of what might happen if she couldn't cook because of her pregnancy, he had learnt to cook the basic dishes, but it paled in comparison to her cooking. He listened to the sounds of the shower running as he thought about their future. Maybe they could hire someone to help, but that would eat into their profits which were already pretty thin, and even if the delivery service brought more business, they were already flat out keeping up with their current workload.

He sighed as he heard the shower turn off, rolling over to his side he reached with a paw for his mug of tea. Reevian entered the living room while he was sipping his tea.

"Teeba says hi by the way." Neebis said.

Reevian gave a nod in acknowledgement before taking her tea to the couch and lying down.

Neebis looked concerned, they usually liked to snuggle together after a hard day's work, the distance from the bed to the couch was only a few paces but at the moment she seemed miles away.

"Hey, is everything okay?" Neebis asked.

"I'm fine" she said flatly, turning on the TV.

With a sigh Neebis rolled off the bed onto his feet and padded over to her. She had sprawled herself over the whole couch, not giving him any room. He looked her up and down while she watched TV, it was clear to him that he had upset her somehow but wasn't sure why. He sat down in the floor and rested his elbows on the couch and took one of her back feet into his paws, she flinched at his touch but once his paws started rubbing against her sore toe pads she relaxed a little.

"Something's not fine" he said as he continued to rub her feet.

"Neebis, I..... Nothing" she said with an exhale, laying her head down in the arm rest of the couch and continued to watch the television, looking intently at the ads to try and ignore him.

"So you know what Teeba does for a living?" Neebis asked trying to change the subject. At the mention of Teeba's name he felt Reevian tense up.

"Something in tech, I don't know" Reevian said flatly.

Neebis looked up at her to try and read her reaction. He continued to massage her feet and ankles with his strong paws.

"The spire she lives in is pretty fancy, I wonder how she can afford it" he said trying to make conversation.

"Yes Teeba is fantastic" she said and pushed his paws away with her other leg. "Sorry we can only afford this little hovel" she added, her voice starting to raise.

"Whoah, what?" He looked at her concerned, "what's wrong Reevian?"

"Nothing!" She said, turning off the television. "I'm going to bed" she said in a huff. She got up from the couch and made her way to the bed, as she climbed up onto it her nostrils flared, smelling the scent of Teeba on their bed from where Neebis had just been stretched out.

Neebis could see the tears welling up in her eyes as she lay down and she turned her back to him. With a sigh he made his way to the bathroom to get showered, something was bothering her and he thought maybe it wasn't the best time to tell him he got excited at the scent of Teeba. Add he stepped in the shower the water quickly turned cold, with a growl he looked up at the showerhead. On the farm he only had cold showers but he had become used to the warmth, he quickly scrubbed himself clean and jumped out, drying himself off with a towel.

His claws softly clicked on the tiles as he made his way back to the living room. He could see Reevian still lying on the bed with her back to him, "I think I want the bed to myself tonight" she said, her voice croaking and it was clear to him that she had been crying.

Neebis let out a deep sigh and climbed into the couch. He could hear her breathing while he tried to go to sleep, he could tell she wasn't sleeping and something was keeping her up, but it was clear she didn't want to talk about it. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, his chest tight with frustration about not being able to help her.

Neebis woke to the sound of the apartment door slamming closed, he quickly lifted his head and looked around, Reevian's bed was empty and he thought that she must be getting an early start to the morning. He stretched as he got off the couch, his neck sore from the lumpy cushions but he shook himself awake and took himself to the bathroom before he made his way out of the apartment to the market stall.

Add he approached, he could tell Reevian didn't get much sleep either, she had bags under her eyes and her wings were drooping slightly. He walked up beside her and went to put a wing around her but she pulled away.

"Reevian, please. What's wrong?" He asked, his voice starting to show his frustration.

"Nothing, I'm just tired" she said shortly as she started pulling out ingredients and proceeded to chop them aggressively.

He flinched every time the knife was swung down at the carrots, each one being cleaved in half. He let out a sigh before starting to get the awning unfurled, customers were starting to mill into the market, they were mostly dragons who worked jobs at odd hours. Reevian and Neebis worked the breakfast rush, her orders to him missing the warmth of her voice but he followed her instructions dutifully.

As the breakfast rush started to slow down Neebis thought of a plan. He went to collect the empty dishes that the patrons had left on the tables but look the long way around the eating area. He made sure that Reevian wasnt watching as he approached another market stall and struck up a conversation with the vendor.

Reevian was organizing the ingredients for the lunch prep when she saw a customer approaching the counter in the corner of her eye. "Hello! I'll just be a moment" she said without looking, she could see in her peripheral vision the customer waiting patiently, they were a dragon but their colors were a vibrant mix of the rainbow.

Finally she looked up to serve the customer only to see Neebis sitting on the customers side of the counter, in his hands a giant bouquet of flowers. "Can I please get a happy mate, with a side of I'm not sure what I've done wrong" he said, his nose tilted down with his eyes big.

Reevians heart melted, she could tell he was trying to make her happy. The scent of the flowers starting to drift over to her in the breeze. "Neebis..." She started while staring at him with a stern gaze. "I know what you did with Teeba" she said, her voice breaking, "I could smell her on you yesterday."

"What!" He explained his white cheeks starting to turn red. "Nothing happened, well I got a bit excited but no, nothing happened"

She looked him in the eyes, after working in the market for so long she had developed a good sense if someone was lying to her. She looked into his deep eyes and could see that he was sincere. "Then why was her scent all over you?"

"She is on heat, and stuck in her room" he started. He could see her anger building, "but nothing happened. I couldn't get the carry bag off my shoulders and she helped"

She waited as she tried to read his expression for any signs of him being unfaithful.

The silence dragged out for what felt like forever, "I swear Reevian. Nothing happened." He begged. "I want to have a family with you, why would I give that up?"

She stared intently at him, her peircing eyes drilling into his very soul, he held her gaze with his big eyes. She waited to see if he would continue, she had learnt that liars often would continue to fill in details if they didn't think you believed them.

"Are you sure nothing happened?" She asked sternly.

"Reevian, you are my everything." He said staring into her eyes. "Please, nothing happened. I got a bit erect and it was awkward as fuck, but nothing happened. I didn't even go into her apartment, we stayed in the hallway."

Her gaze softened, she could tell he was telling the truth, his lip quivering as he was on the verge of breaking down. She reached out with her paws and took the flowers. "They are beautiful" she said. Changing the topic.

Neebis let out a sigh and came around the counter, he pressed his neck against hers, his nose meeting hers "I will never betray you Reevian. You are my best friend and mate and landlord" He whispered just to her as she chuckled, He then kissed her nose, her heart started to beat faster and she kissed him back, holding the flowers against her chest with a paw.

A cough came from the other side of the counter and they both looked out at the waiting customer with one eye while they were still in a deep kiss.

"Sorry to interrupt, but can I get some service" the human said rudely.

Reevian pulled away and gave the customer her attention and took his order. Neebis took the flowers from her and muttered under his breath "I'll service you" which caused Reevian to smile while talking to the customer.

As the lunch rush started to pick up, they worked together to handle the flow of customers. "Hey, maybe a bad time to say, but can we get some noodles for Teeba? She can't leave the house and I kind of promised her I would bring her food"

"Oh did you now?" Said Reevain, looking over her shoulder to him with a smirk as he cleaned the dishes.

"Yeah, she is on heat and can't leave the house" he justified. "Apparently her boyfriend worked for Drag'n'Drop and I think she is trying to hide from him or something"

Reevian nodded and started wrote a docket for noodles, adding it to the rest of the queue.

"She is going to pay too" he added over the sounds of the cooking.

"I would hope so, we can't afford to make house calls every day. I need you here" she said while stirring a pot and shuffling ingredients on the hot plate.

"Remind me to talk to you about a business plan when we finish tonight." He said with a smile.

"You? A business drake? All right farm boy" she chuckled returning to the stove.

Neebis flew towards the northern spire apartments, he touches down at the entrance and made his way to the buzzer panel, he pressed the buzzer and waited patiently before Teeba's voice came through "is that you Neebis?"

"Sure is! with a hot bowl of spicy noodles" he said and started moving to the elevator as he heard the intercom click off.

During the ride up the elevator he took his time trying to untie the carry bag from around his neck, the mirrored walls helping him see what he was doing. The elevator came to the right floor with a ding and he padded quickly to her door and gave it a knock while setting down the noodles on the floor. The door opened and he took a quick step back, the smell of Teeba's heat thick in the air.

"Thankyou so much for doing this!" Said Teeba.

"Not a problem for Noodle Express" he said, he smiled with his mouth open slightly for her to get the joke. She paused for a moment to work out what he had just said.

"Oh God, the dad jokes have started, haven't they" she said with a giggle. She stuck her nose in the bag and inhaled deeply, "this smells amazing as always. Here, keep the change" she said as she grabbed a note from beside the front door.

"Oh please that is way too much" he said as he saw the hundred dollar bill.

"No, I insist, consider it payment for yesterday and your time" She said as she held out the note to him.

"I don't know what to say, Thank-you" he said as he gingerly reached forwards to grab the note with his arm outstretched.

"Do I smell that bad do I?" Teeba said, feeling self conscience.

Neebis stepped forwards and retrieved the note. "Oh, No. Its a long story, But Reevian could smell you on me from when you took the bag yesterday, and it caused a huge misunderstanding"

"OH, I am so sorry!" Teeba exclaimed, stepping back from him quickly.

"Please, its ok. It's all good now.", Neebis looked down at the note, He had never actually held a hundred dollar note. "This is really too much" He repeated.

"It's fine, Trust me. You are the only person I have spoken to since I lost my job, I really appreciate what you are doing." Teeba said sadly.

"Wait, you lost your job? How do you afford this place." he said before adding "Sorry, I didn't mean to say it like that. It's just this is a really nice place."

Teeba chuckled a bit, "Yes its pretty swanky, maybe too swanky. I may or may not have received a payout from my last work, but it rhymes with 'non-disclosure agreement'." she said with a wink.

"What was it that you used to do, or is it like you have to kill me if you tell me" he joked,

She waved her hand and dismissed him, "Nothing secret, I used to work in app development for a large company that specialized in logistics and was a fair employer of dragons. I think that's what I'm allowed to say, If you know the company I mean." she said with a smile.

"I think I too used to work at a company that specializes in that thing you just said" He chuckled. "So app development hey? I guess you are tired of people telling you their next big idea then?"

"Oh Gods yes, every drake, at every bar, ever" She laughed.

"Well shit, I kind of had one" he said smiling, but she could tell he was slightly crestfallen. "Ill let you get into your noodles, don't want them to get cold"

"Tell Reevian, I'm jealous of her hot noodle" She said with a wink as she turned back inside her apartment, leaving Neebis standing with his cheeks bright red in the hallway.

Neebis clutched the money in a paw and made his way back to the elevator. He chuckled at her joke while he looked at himself in the mirror, "Hear that Neebis, You're a hot noodle" he said to himself.

The flight back to the markets was uneventful, He touched down at landing pad closest to the market and walked the rest of the way. The dinner rush hadn't started just yet but he quickly made his way to Reevian and put the money in the register before making a start on the dishes that had piled up in his absence. "So Reevian, Apparently I'm a hot noodle" he jested over his shoulder with a smirk.

"Really, and who said that?" She replied while preparing ingredients.

"Oh just my side 'ness" He said with a chuckle. He laughed when a wet cloth smacked him in the back of the head. "Don't worry, she paid me a hundred because I was 'so amazing'. apparently"

"So was this your business idea.... Noodles with... Meatballs?" she said as she reached her tail out to brush against his. He wrapped as much of his tail around hers as they worked adjacent from each other.

Sensing her good mood he thought now was as good as time as ever. "I was thinking something along the lines of a food delivery service."

"Drag'n'Drop I think has that covered." She said, looking over to him, She could see his eyes were lit up with passion about his idea and she didn't want to shut him down. "How would it work?"

"Good thing you asked!" he said with a sleezy tone to his voice, "I was thinking that market operators just like us could receive orders from customers all over the city, and then dragons or whatever come, pick up the food and take it to the customer." He said with a smile, he could see her thinking it over, "It links the markets with the rest of the city which will help grow their customer base, and the customers get good food rather than processed crap"

"So the delivery people dont work for us?" She asked, trying to wrap her head around the concept.

"Well, not your stall no, but they work for a company that does the ordering, pickup and delivery"

"But wouldn't the delivery person just fly off with the money?" She thought, It seemed like an obvious flaw.

"Maybe some kind of cashless payment, like you do for your Drag'n'Drop orders. Also that means the flyers are not carrying heaps of cash, or having to return back to the market to give the money to the vendor." His voice getting excited as he thought through these processes out loud.

"I don't know, this is a big leap from what I know" Reevian said skeptically.

"Look, its not perfect, but it could be. If it works then we could still work here in the market place, but with the egg coming I really want to spend more time with you and it." He said as he moved to her side, pressing a paw against the side of her belly.

"I don't even know where you would start with something like this" she said, closing her eyes at the feeling of his touch.

He leaned his face close to hers and gave her a soft nibble behind her jaw. "Don't worry about it, its just an idea for now. But I want to explore it for a little while." he traced his licks and nibbles down her neck to her shoulders "Just like I want to explore my beautiful.. sexy... gorgeous... amazing.. mate" he said between kisses.
