Evil Doesn't Die Book One Prologue and Chapter One
#1 of EVIL DOESN'T DIE
Prologue.
Date: May 6th 3011, . Location: a home in Brooklyn, New York.
The sounds of a human woman crying filled the room of a small house. "Come on ma'am, push!" shouted the doctor. The agonized screams of a woman could be heard as she pushed hard. A few seconds later, the sounds of a baby crying filled the house, reaching the same tempo as the mother. "Congratulations, it's a baby boy. What are you going to name him?" asked the doctor in charge of the delivery of the baby. The mother stopped screaming, and started taking in agonized breaths, before she finally caught her breath enough to talk, "I name this child Ariel, in honor of his Grandfather." The doctor smiled, handed the baby to his mother, and signed Ariel's name on his birth certificate. Ariel's mother cradled Ariel gently, and smiled as tears of joy fell down her face. Looking up at the Doctor, a lion fur, she asked him to give her a moment of privacy. The doctor obliged, and left the room. Ariel's mother looked down at her child, gently rocking him in her arms. "Ariel, you were born into a noble family. A family known for hunting and killing supernatural creatures. I do not, however, want you to follow in our family's footsteps. So I'll be keeping you away from them." Sighing, Ariel's mother stopped talking, got up from her bed, and walked over to a crib. She gently placed Ariel in it, and then called for the doctor to come back in. The doctor hurried in, and was immediately handed a briefcase. "Doctor, I know that you follow patient-doctor secrecy, but I need to make sure that my family doesn't find out about this child. Take this briefcase full of cash, and don't tell them anything." The Doctor looked at Ariel's mother, speechless. Ariel's mother pushed the briefcase into the doctor's paws, and led him to the front door. The doctor headed over to his car, stepped inside, and drove away. As soon as she heard the doctor's car peel away, Ariel's mother took a remote control out of her pocket. People should always check the briefcase before leaving with it. Sighing, she pressed the lone button on the remote control, and leaned against the front door as she heard the bomb she had placed the briefcase detonate, killing the doctor.
Location: Ariel's house. Date May 6th 3017,
Ariel let out a deep breath as he got off his school bus. As he heard the bus peel away from the curb, Ariel walked up to the door of his house. Taking his fist, he knocked loudly on the door, while shouting, "MOM! I'm home!" Surprisingly, the door opened up, but there was no one there to greet him. "MOM?!?" shouted Ariel loudly. Ariel stepped into his house, and started looking around for his mother. Where the Hell could she be? She said that she was going to stay home today, and meet me here. As he thought this, Ariel checked inside his mother's room, and was about to go on past it, when he did a double take. Rushing back to the door of the room, he saw a male wolf fur standing over his mother. Just as Ariel was about to barge into the room, he took a closer look at what the wolf was doing, and what he saw, horrified him. The wolf's snout was on his mother's neck, and by the skin tone of his mother's skin, the wolf was draining, and drinking the blood of his mother. "What the fuck are you doing?!?! Get away from my mother!!" Ariel barged into the room as he shouted those words, and lunged at what he considered to be a vampire. The vampire glanced at Ariel, and then tore his mouth away from his victim's throat. Just as Ariel was about to reach him, the vampire ran towards the window of the room, and jumped through it. As the glass shattered, Ariel held up his arms to protect his face. When all the broken glass landed, he rushed over to the window, but was disappointed to see that the vampire had disappeared. _Damn it, he's gone. Wait a minute. MOM! _Ariel turned back towards his mother, and ran to her side. "Mom, are you okay?" Ariel put his index and ring finger against his mother's neck, and felt for a pulse. To his relief, he was able to find one, but it was faint. As he took his fingers away, Ariel heard his mother let out a small cough, and then heard her speak, "Ariel, you need to get out of here. That thing that attacked me wasn't normal. And it wasn't a vampire. It was a blood-sucking demon. His name is Asmodeus. He will come back to finish me off. If you're here, he will kill you." Ariel looked at his mother in astonishment. Smiling faintly, Ariel's mother continued speaking, "I know this is a lot for you to take in right now, but you have to leave, and go to your uncle's house. He will teach you everything you need to know to avenge my death, and to prevent this from happening to other families." Gasping, Ariel's mother reached into pocket, and took out a piece of paper, with an address scribbled on it. She handed it to Ariel, and again told him to leave. "I'll leave mom. And I will make sure that your death means something." Getting up, Ariel looked at his mother with sadness in his eyes, and then left the room, and then the house. Grabbing his bike from the front lawn, Ariel started his long journey over to his uncle's house.
Location: the house of Ariel's uncle. Date: same day.
As soon as Ariel reached the house of his uncle, he jumped off his bike, and ran up to the door. He immediately started knocking on the door frantically. The door was opened ten seconds later, by a large built man. "Can I help you boy?" asked the man. Ariel looked at the man, and took out the paper his mother gave him, and handed it to the man. The man looked the paper over, and read the writing on it. He immediately recognized the handwriting of Ariel's mother. He immediately reached into his pocket, took out a U.V. flashlight, and passed it over the paper. As soon as the light went over the paper, words appeared, saying, 'Ben, if a boy hands you this paper, it means you have a nephew. It also means that I was killed by the supernatural. Please take care of my son, and teach him everything on the supernatural, including how to defend himself, and how to kill anything supernatural.' Ben looked at Ariel, and saw how his eyes were full of anger. Nodding his head slowly, Ben beckoned Ariel into his house, and then closed the door behind him.
Chapter one.
Location: A forest in Chicago, Illinois. Date: May 6th 3028. Time: 12:30 a.m
Ariel ran through the trees, dodging them left and right, as he tried to escape a pursuing vampire. He looked over his shoulders, and saw that he was still being chased by the vampire, so he started picking up speed. He was just about to reach a tree that he could climb, when he tripped over a root. Letting out a grunt, Ariel fell onto the forest floor, twisting his ankle in the process. Son of a bitch. I'm mad tight right now. Ariel's thoughts couldn't have been truer as the vampire finally caught up to him. Before he did anything, the vampire, a gator, kneeled down on one knee to catch his breath. When he was done, he started speaking, "you lousy bastard. You almost killed me, you realize that? Because of that, I'm going to draw out your death, slowly and painfully." Smiling, the gator took out some rope from his pants, and started tying Ariel up to a tree. As he was being tied up, Ariel, out of instinct, said, "you kinky son of a bitch. You planning on prison fucking me? If so, buddy, I don't swing that way." The vampire ignored the smart-ass comment, and finished tying up Ariel. When he was done, the vampire asked, "any last words Ariel, Supernatural Hunter?" Ariel looked up at the vampire, and said, "Yeah. I have five words actually. You Can Kiss My Machete." With those words, Ariel kicked the trunk of the tree he was tied to. The sound of a weight dropping could be heard, and then the unmistakable sound of metal slicing through the air sounded. The gator looked up, just in time to see a sharp machete swinging towards the center of his neck. Before he could even scream, the blade sliced through his neck, causing a spray of blood to squirt out from the wound, as the blade cleanly severing his spinal cord. The blood spatter went all over Ariel's face and body. Ariel let the blood hit him, without so much as flinching. They always think that I'm not prepared for them. Little fuckers are tight every time they 'capture me.' _ _Anyways, time to get lose. Ariel smiled as he started pulling against his restraints. When he felt them get loose, he took a deep breath, and pull forward with all his strength. The rope snapped, and Ariel dropped to one knee. Well, nothing to do now, except get prepared for another creature hunter. Sighing, Ariel rubbed his wrists, and walked over to the body of the vampire he killed. Looking down at the body, Ariel smiled, knowing that there was one less vampire in the world. Blinking, he grabbed his machete and wiped it clean against the vampire's shirt. Holding the blade up to the moon, Ariel inspected it for any sign of blood, and was pleased to see there wasn't any. Sheathing the machete, Ariel looked at the vampire's body one last time, and then spat on it as he stepped over it. Ariel limped out of the forest, and onto a paved road. When he reached the road, he saw what he was looking for, a black Chevrolet Camaro. There's my ride. Smiling, Ariel limped over to his car, and opened up the trunk. Inside the trunk, there was an arsenal of supernatural killing implements, a towel, and a change of clothes. Grabbing the towel, Ariel cleaned up his face, and all the exposed parts of his body. When he was done, Ariel took off the clothes he was wearing, save for his boxers and undershirt, and threw them into the forest. When he heard them hit the ground, he reached for the change of clothes he had. He put on the black t-shirt and baggy jeans. Before he put on a pair of boots, Ariel reached into his pockets, and took out a silver bladed shoe-knife. Making sure that the knife was hidden, Ariel put it into his right boot, then proceeded to put them both on. When he was done, he grabbed a black men's trench coat, and put it on over his shirt. Well, I now look like I'm just an innocent human on a drive.
Blank faced, Ariel grabbed one of the guns in the trunk, a nine millimeter pistol, put it in one of the pockets of his trench coat, and securely fastened it with a Velcro strap. As soon as he was done, he grabbed a magazine of silver plated bullets, and put them in his pockets. Well then, I'm now fully prepared. It's now time to drive. But first, let's fixed my ankle. Leaning against his car, Ariel started focusing on his repairing his ankle, quickly imagining all the tendons and bones fixing themselves. Within ten minutes, his ankle was fully healed, and he was walking to the driver's side of his car. Thank God that we supernatural hunters are blessed with powers to help us in times like this. Thank God I got the power of regeneration. Anyways, time to drive. Opening the car door, Ariel climbed into the driver's seat and pressed the ignition switch. The car instantly started up, and several computers also lit up. Only one of the computers, however, was of interest to him. Looking at it, he saw that the next creature he had to kill was a werewolf in Westchester, New York. Huh. That's pretty close to where I used to live. Wonder if that means anything. Shaking his head, Ariel reached his right hand towards his G.P.S. and typed in the exact coordinates of his next kill. The G.P.S. routed the course, showed that the time was currently one in the morning, and then signaled Ariel to start driving, as it said that his estimated time of arrival was a day and a half with non-stop driving, and three with stops. Cracking his neck, Ariel put on a pair of shades, put his car in gear, grabbed the steering wheel, and pressed down on the gas-pedal. The Camaro surged forward, leaving behind the forest, and the remains of the dead vampire.

A lion fur walked into a diner and took a seat at the booth closet to the door. Almost immediately, a waitress appeared and asked what the lion's order was. "I'll have an order of eggs and a hamburger." said the lion. "Coming right up, Eric." Eric watched the waitress walk away then leaned back against his chair. Some breakfast, some gas for my car, then I can start on my next deer hunting trip. As he finished his thought, Eric's whiskers started twitching as he smelled his food coming. The waitress appeared in front of him, and set the food down on the table gently. Smiling up at the waitress, Eric thanked her and started to dig into his food.As he was eating, Eric couldn't help but overhear what was being said on a television set. ".....veloping story. Earlier today, the body of a gator was found in a forest in Chicago, Illinois. The body was on the floor, and with a clean cut going through its neck. Early police reports believe cause of death to be the severing of the spinal cord. No suspects have been named at this time." _ Hmmmf. A dead gator fur found in the woods. Probably doesn't mean much. Hopefully it's not a serial killer._ Letting out a breath, Eric stopped eating, and called for the waitress to give him the bill. "Sure thing Eric." shouted the waitress. Within ten minutes, Eric was paying for his order, and leaving a generous tip for the waitress. "See you soon Eric!" shouted the waitress. Eric smiled, and waved goodbye to the waitress, "see ya sis, I'll be back from my hunting trip sooner than last time, so don't miss me too much."
Location: A highway. Time: 7:30 a.m. Date: same date.
_ 'Riiiiiiiiiing. Pick up the phone, idiot.'_ Ariel reached for his headset frantically, as he heard it ringing. Just as the call was on the verge of not making it through, Ariel put the device in his ear, and switched it on. "Who dis?" asked Ariel. The person on the other line didn't answer right away, but when she did, it made Ariel regret his first words. "Ariel is that any way to talk to your aunt?" asked the person on the other line. "Hi Aunt Ellen! I'm sorry for the rude way I answered. How you doing?" Aunt Ellen let out a laugh as she heard Ariel apologize. "Well, it seems you still have your rough exterior." Suddenly, Aunt Ellen's tone grew serious, "Ariel, listen, we've been following up on the demon that killed your mother. So far no one has heard anything, or they're just not willing to talk." Ariel took the information in stride, at least on the outside. In the inside, he was currently imagining the destruction of several buildings. Damn, that damn demon is still managing to stay three steps ahead of me. "Alright, thanks Aunt Ellen. Is there anything else I need to know?" Aunt Ellen paused before answering, then said, "Ariel, there's report of demon activity in Michigan. I suggest you check it out, and of course, eliminate the threat." Ariel smiled, although his smile held no emotion behind it, "sure thing, Aunt Ellen. I'll let ya go now. And tell Uncle Ben that I love 'im." Aunt Ellen replied that she would, then hung up the phone. Sighing, Ariel took his headset out of his ear, and put it in his pocket. As he was putting the headset back in his pocket, Ariel happened to see his reflection in his rearview mirror. What stared back at him was a 17 year old, fit, Hispanic boy, who looked like he was ready to fall over. I may be 6'7, and have all 250lbs of me come mostly from muscle, with one five pounds coming from the combine total of my internal organs, but I'm still working myself to hard. What does it matter though? I have to work myself hard. It's the only way I'm able to save these people's lives. Still, I'm tight as hell right now. Sighing, Ariel put his shades back on, and returned his attention to the road ahead of, as he typed in his new destination into his G.P.S.
Location: Eric's car. Date: same date. Time: 7:40 a.m
_ Let's see, I've got my shotgun, the bullets, and the bags I need to carry the body. I've also got both my hunting license and driver's license, so I'm pretty much legally set to go deer hunting._ Whiskers twitching, Eric put his car in gear, and drove out of the diner's parking lot, leaving a trail of dust behind him. Within minutes, he was on the highway, and headed on his way to Michigan. This is going to be enjoyable. Smiling, Eric rolled down his window, and hung his elbow out the window. As he was driving, Eric took his attention away from the road for a moment, just so that he could send an email to his sister. When he returned his attention to the road, he did so just in time to crash into the car in front of him, completely destroying the front of his car, and destroying the back of the other driver's car. Shit. And this is my favorite car too. Sighing, Eric pulled over to the side of the highway, and was surprised to see the car he crashed into, follow-suit. The guy I just rear-ended is also pulling over. This could be bad. Tense, Eric climbed out of his car, and went up to the front to check it out. His ears twitched as he heard the driver of the car he hit, climb out of his car. Trying to make it look like he wasn't paying attention to the other driver, Eric focused hard on his fucked up car, and didn't hear the driver sneak up behind him, until he felt a hand on his shoulders. "Buddy, do you know that the car you hit was a year 3000 model, Chevrolet Camaro? And that it also cost me a heap of money? And that right now, you're tight?" asked the owner of the hand. Oh this is just great. I busted up a rich guy's car. Sighing, Eric turned to face the driver, and was surprised to see a grinning human behind him. Huh, how bout that.
Who was it that Eric sees? Find out when I bring out another chapter of this series. Anyways, by now, you people probably think I'm crazy, considering I'm writing a series where the supernatural is more widely associated to my main character. I'm not crazy. I'm just writing this series because it's an idea that has been bothering me for a long time. Anyways, we'll soon find out whether or not Eric is meant to be Ariel's.....anchor (if you will), in this series. After all, every main character needs someone who keeps them from going almost completely and totally insane. Well, other than this, BYE!
