The Girls
By Lonelyrider
While on a Christian mission offering aid to the local working girls, Lonely Rider makes an intriguing new friend.
Lonely had set up a small table draped with a purple tablecloth bearing a gold cross and adorned with baskets of hot bread, contraceptives and papers announcing the free aid of a local healer she'd negotiated with ahead of time.
"Free bread, info and safety barriers! Please step up, Jesus loves you and wants you to be healthy and safe! Hello there, are you hungry, miss?" Lonely held out a basket of warm herbed bread with butter she'd baked that morning, an impoverished local child took one and ran and her mother scolded her. Lonely smiled kindly.
"That's perfectly fine, they're for all. Fresh hot bread, come hear the good word of the Lord and recieve his blessings in the flesh!"
A few of the local prostitutes passed by and muttered at Lonely, some taking the bread, but she only smiled kindly.
"Do we have to listen to a sermon to eat?" One girl asked, and the rest giggled.
"No, of course not, please take your fill, and here's some condoms and dental dams for you, and a flyer about Healer Jordan, he's offering free clinics on Thursdays for you ladies, magick healing for the ladies of the night. Please, take one. Yes, you're welcome. I'll be reading from my Bible, but you don't have to stay, for anyone who'd like to hear." Lonely said kindly as she passed out the lunch and safe sex items to the girls, some of whom stayed skeptical, arms crossed and eyeing her with open sass.
"Here it comes, always with the preaching, these do-gooders. 'Save your soul!'" One of the prostitutes jeered, more giggles ensued. Lonely nodded with a warm smile and began to read from the New Testament, as the prostitutes came and went by her table near the town stables, where the women liked to ply their trade. Lonely finished reading from Psalm 13 and looked up with a happy gasp to see a very pretty buxom young anthro vixen eyeing her with interest, having been listening to the psalm.
"Hello. I'm known as Brandy, well, when I'm working, that is. May I?" The fox asked, looking over the table, Lonely indicated everything with a sweet smile.
"Please do, help yourself. I have warm herb bread and butter, spring water, barrier protection for you girls and a flyer for free healing services from a local druid healer."
Brandy munched on the bead, swallowing it.
"Mmm, not bad, oh, thank you. I might just check that out. What made you come out to this part of town? It's not exactly where most townspeople want to be, well, unless they're a customer." Brandy finished, thanking Lonely again and pocketing the roll of condoms and dental dams Lonely handed her cheerfully. Lonely went to reply and Brandy excused herself as an eager john came up to her and nibbled the back of her neck, his arms around her waist and hand holding a small sack of coins.
"You're exactly my type, how much, hot stuff?" The wealthy human male growled lowly, eyeing Lonely as he kept nibbling at Brandy's neck and smelling her voluminous red hair.
"50 gold pieces for everything, 30 for less. Excuse me, Miss church lady, I have a trick, back soon." Brandy said, leading the eager john to the woods behind the stable, Lonely waved goodbye to her and resumed reading from her Bible as local poor and the prostitutes kept picking at the food, flyers and protection she'd brought, which pleased her greatly. She was nearly out of supplies when Brandy emerged from the woods, fixing her ruffled hair as the man buttoned his waistcoat and went on with his day with a smile on his face.
"He was a nice one, agreed to use the condom you gave me, thanks. So, what church are you with? It's been awhile since we'd had any charity workers out here." Brandy said, leaning on Lonely's table, her full bosom swaying in the tiny belly corset she wore.
"Father Dixon's 3rd Angelical Church, on Plum Street. We're having a big breakfast before service this Sunday, please consider joining us, and bring your family, we'd love to have you." Lonely said happily.
"I know that priest, he healed me when a john injured me one night and I stumbled out of an alley and ran right into him, literally."
"Oh wow, were you alright? Oh yes, he was my best friend." Lonely sighed wistfully, looking sad.
"I was fine, thanks to him, just a little shaken up. He gave me a mini Bible and I still have it in my boudoir. 'Was' your best friend? Is he dead?" Brandy asked, asking Lonely if she could have more bread.
"Of course, here you go. Oh no, not at all, he joined The Great White Crusade, he's become a mighty battle priest for them." Lonely said, looking worried and also impressed at the same time.
"Oh wow, I heard that's really bloody. Doesn't seem like him at all. I'd bring my family, but I don't have any. Besides, do you guys really want a whore in your church?" Brandy said with a half-joking air, Lonely gave her a kind, sympathetic look.
"Oh...dearest Miss Brandy, of course we do. Jesus loves you so much, everyone is welcome at His table, just like you're welcome at this table, you are most welcome at our church. I know dearest Father Dixon would concur if he were here, I do miss him so, the least I can do is keep his food pantry alive and well. Please, consider coming to church with us, we'd be happy to include you."
"Would I need to stop hooking?" Brandy asked, seeming to be seriously interested in Lonely's offer.
"No, no of course not. Mind you, I'm not clergy, more of a volunteer and assistant to them, but I'd be happy to put a good word in for you." Lonely said.
Another prostitute came up behind Brandy.
"Brandy, why are you indulging her? She just wants to convert you, she doesn't actually care. Why engage with these fanatics?" The human beauty asked.
"I'd never try to forcibly convert you ladies, you have my word. I'm simply here to aid in the spirit of Christ, and to expose all those who are willing to His gospel. That is all, I promise." Lonely said with a solemn head bow and a prayer gesture of her hands.
"Yeah, why are you being such a bitch, Crystal? I'm the female canid, leave the bitchiness to me. Get outta here. Hey...do you have a magick mirror, could I call you to hang out sometime? You seem legit cool. I mean, if you want to, no pressure." Brandy asked. Lonely looked surprised, but pleasantly so.
"Oh, I do! I got it to match my boyfriend's so I could chat with him. Here we go." Lonely spoke to her enchanted hand mirror so it activated and Brandy did the same, syncing them energtically so the two could 'call' each other at a later time.
"Okay, great. While I wait for another customer, do you mind if I stick around and listen to you read your Bible?"
Lonely grinned big, thrilled.
"You are most welcome to!"
and Lonely grinned at her pretty new friend as she leafed through the New Testament looking for another passage to read aloud as Brandy cheerfully listened amid the bustle of their little town.
