Chapter One - Dragon Skies
This is the beginning of the series of Dryke, and his dragon master. I wrote this a couple years ago, and i hope to hear replies and feedback from everyone :) (there aren't enough dragon stories)
Here the series begin.
--
The soft flickering of light and pops from the fireplace were the only cause of noise. The fireplace was in the center of a large tower going up, with supports, but no single side. Heat gave out at all sides, rolling out to the inhabitants, one at each side save one.
The placements of the seats were subgroup Representatives of entire nations of dragons, four in all, each seated in place where their home was. On the ground etched in stone, redwood, and emeralds set separations, etching of a map of the island that all governed.
Each one sat, all in human form. To the North, Leader of the Emerald Dragons, tall and indifferent was she, her hair was like copper and her eyes were green. She was a holder of the second largest portions.
To the East, Sub-Chieftain of the Metal Dragons. He was the youngest to date, age of less than a hundred to succeed in the position. His hair was like fire, but if he were any thinner, he's be flesh and bone. He had just finished fighting a large dispute over a section and got it a large fight, leaving a scar across his chest that he wore proudly, and it took months to fix the entire area and live-stock problems, as drought had set in. Succeeding in his missions, he was rewarded the seat. His coloring was like cold iron.
To the West, Sub-Chieftain of the Colored Dragons. She sat seemingly aware of nothing, her eyes staring at the fire. She owned the Smallest section of the land, but was the richest of gems and metals, also making it the most valuable, and making the standard coin of the entire land that they used. Her beauty in human form would mesmerize any mortal man, but her age would make any man to a seventh great-grand generation to even the dragons. Her seeming youth wasn't hidden so well in her natural form. Her hair was black, and her skin was dark, but her eyes were of emerald, and deeper than the sea.
To the South A seat was open. It's owner no where to be seen.
For three nights the circle of dragons came, waiting, and what would have been an insult for any human ruler was barely an annoyance for these, as much time gave way to much thought and life. At most times they would partake to simple pleasures, of a nearby hot spring, and gazing at the land and area. When hungry, they would hunt at the nearby wildlife.
The entire region was protected and un-owned by any dragon for several miles, making it as much a holy place as any, any dragon could come and go as they please, but it was forbidden to take anything from this place, save a meal if you were hungry. But to add on and improve it was welcome. To ensure it's peace, a single great wyrm of the last great war several hundred years before, watched and tended to the area. She was never seen, but her magic and energy flowed over the area and made it rich.
To mark the area a single breed of flower could grow in the area, similar to a dandelion, but looked like a rose. It's fragrance was wonderful, but the flower would quickly die if taken from it's home, and only those with the wyrm's blessing, is when the flowers lived and dried properly as gifts. Rare they were, and the entire area's air and mere presence felt like the washing waves of the sea, radiating peace and solitary. When in the area of those flowers, aptly called 'Dragon Peace', all rules of the area applied, regardless of age, status, or sex, or even race. And no dragon would break any rule, for fear of the wyrm showing herself and destroying the offender with a wave of her powerful and aged talons.
In the time of the war that converged several hundred years before, every dragon race was united with it's own, and fought the other types, Havoc and death left in it's wake. She was the oldest and strongest even then, her magic budding out, in her last mature stage before she changed and took the age category of wyrm.
During the war, she took a month to catch her breath and heal several wounds, when she noted that humans were a formidable force to be reconned with, and after being captured by a large army of nearly a hundred thousand soldiers for a week, she used every bit of her strength into magic to turn every one of them to stone, from the most able bodied man, to the smallest child, from every butterfly to every bear and wolf. A single nova blast in all directions, leaving her tired and nearly dead. When she recovered, she flew and scouted the towns growing in the land of humans from another land, and the speed of which their growth scared her, to which she returned and formed an alliance to prevent them from overtaking the land.
After a short time, they all accepted her notes and worry, and visited the army of stone, deciding to split the land according to lots and games, and then trading until all was fair. Then agreeing specific protocols that all fledgling dragons were taught. As well as the meeting of every ten years, or so as the need arose.
After a hundred years, peace slowly covered the land, and population was strickly watched. Seeing no area for which a good meeting place to be at, she found the most baren desert and claimed it, cast the most powerful spells she could form, poured her own blood on the land, and became one with the land. No one ever recorded seeing her again, but humans and dragons that broke the rules were found to have been missing their memory, and lacked the will to try and overthrow the area at all.
--
As the moon hit high in the sky that night, the faint sound of beating could be heard, and a large form landed at the entrance of the structure. A soft glow enveloped the form, leaving him
looking like a human. He strode up the steps, and before entering, bowed to the building, laid his hands on one of the pillars, and whispered softly words of a unique greeting. Pulling out of
his sack on the ground, a single black stone, and pressed it lightly to the pillar. The Pillar became soft as clay, and the stone sunk in, and became firm once more, writing appearing around it in glowing letters with the draconic words 'welcome, and may peace be with you, hybrid'.
Picking up his simple supplies he entered and sat down in the Southern seat, to which each other
looked at him for long minutes. Muted words screamed between all of them, yet not a sound even came from any living thing inside.
After calm returned, The emerald stood causing her hair to flow over her shoulders, her act challanged him for his right to sit at that seat, which only a through inspection could prove he could sit there, and denial wasn't an option. He stood, dropping his sack on the seat, and strode in the center of all the chairs. He looked at each dragon in turn, unable to read their blank faces.
A single gesture of her right hand, with her fore and middle fingers straight up to her eyebrows, signaled he should strip naked. With only a moment's hessitation, he did, taking each item off, and folding it up, setting it aside. After a few moments, stood naked, save for a single leather brace on his left hand, covering everything from his wrist to his elbow.
She approached, lightly touching his head and closing her eyes, and slowly circled him, gliding her hands along his skin as she moved, sensing his inner being. Her hands slowly moved down a few inches at a time on each turn, and when she touched the brace she pulled back, almost in pain. With the same gesture as before, and then touching her left arm told him to remove it.
"I cannot remove it, miss De'Lorrak" He said softly, yet firmly. "For you would not bare your soul completely, except to your mate, would you have me in front of three?"
"Explain this" De'Lorrak said, and lightly touched the leather.
"First prove me out, and when you are satisfied, i will tell you of it." He replied, never
turning his head, as he looked into the fire.
"Unacceptible, you--" She began.
"Quiet.." Sphliea said softly, barely a whisper, her emerald eyes turning for once from her seat in the west. "The hand can hold no evil can it? Why judge the hand for the dragon's choice? And if he lost a hand or leg, would you refuse him for not being whole? Or accept him for what he is?" She said, her voice soft as a whisper, yet heard louder than the fire cracks and pops that filled the room. Her hand resumed petting the rabbit she was holding, but wasn't visible until that moment.
A moment's thought and silence filled the room, before De'Lorrak nodded and continued on him, avoiding the leather brace.
After a few minutes more, she lowered her hands and nearly finnished, when her hand brushed against his man-hood, and stopping for a moment, looked upon him, she noted he was circumsized, and raised her head to him. "You aren't a dragon" She said softly.
A loud gasp came from the eastern seat, as Grak'fra stood up and pointed towards one of the empty walls. "LEAVE!!" He said loudly. "You don't belong here!"
"I shall explain" In reply the stranger said, and when no objection came forth, he took a deep breath and began.
"My name is Dryke, I was born in the human village to the south, and raised until i was eight years old. Dryke'Livi selected me to be his.. Trusted Messenger and loyal friend, and took me from my parents. He raised me, and last year, cast several powerful spells, mixing his blood with mine. I have all his abilities, and all his general knowlage. This.." He said, gently touching the leather "Is my birthright, it's in-hert magic identifies me. I will speak no more of it."
"You are a Blend of magic!" De'Lorrak said, supprise barely contained in her voice.
"I'm a hybrid, i'm half dragon, and i speak under my master's voice and will" Dryke replied.
"It's true..." Sphliea said softly, her eyes looking him over, and a little bit of tears gathered in one eye, looking at him, before sitting back. The rabbit she was holding, jumped down out of her hands as they opened up it's freedom, returning to the wild where it came from.
"You.. Barely in your twenties, and i worked Fifty years to get this seat!" Grak'fra said, venomisly, his cold steel eyes locked on the hybrid not even ten feet away.
Silence is all that returned to Grak'fra, to which his eyes began to glow red, and he began to stride forwards. The entire building began to glow a soft blue, and De'Lorrak stood back. Once face to face, Grak'fra said loudly to the building "Remove your protection, this is about honor!" And after a few moments, the glow faded, leaving the walls, and most of the floor.
Grak'fra took the first move, hitting Dryke two times, one with each fist and a single kick that left him falling to the ground skidding a few feet. Half his body was already red now from the rough rock he skid on, and he un-steadily stood up. Red welts and broken skin trailed small amounts of blood down his side where he had landed on. Grak'fra swung another hit at Dryke, but before it hit, Dryke bent himself backwards, and pulled Grak'fra's weight and force around on him, pulling him from his feet and onto his stomach. Dryke planted one foot at the base of his neck, and the other on one foot, using force to suggest the position and strength of his position, but not using enough force to hurt him more than neccisary.
Grak'fra growled loudly, before a second growl from Sphliea, deeper and stronger than his. her eyes Glowed the same as her emerald eyes, as she sat relaxed in the chair. "Don't Grak'fra, you don't have the right to judge Dryke'Livi's decision. If you think he did wrong, take it up with him, not Dryke."
Dryke nodded to Sphliea, and got off Grak'fra, whispering a spell, and a glow appeared on his leather brace, moving over his body, and his skin became whole once more.
"I believe we have buisness to Discuss?" Dryke said, and began dressing, and then sat down.
--
The area to the south Specialized in magic and alchemy, of a medium sized area, half of that area was a desert that was used for testing the more powerful, and potentially deadly spells. The other half housed a smaller number of dragons than even Sphliea's land, but prospered as well as her's.
For several hours, up until the morning lights they discussed buisness, minor treaties between sections of their lands for trade, food, minerals. As well as discussing plans for future advancement for the next ten years on magic, alchemy. All living and working areas were used underground or in a moutain side, in order to leave the land free to grow and support the population, in some areas scarce and others dense in their presense.
At this time by mutual agreement, they stopped and took a break until the evening to do as they liked. At this point Dryke took to himself and went to the local hot springs, Stripping naked except for his leather brace, and sighed softly as the hot water touched and massaged his sore muscles from the flight and fight before, an enjoyable pain that made life move on so well.
He looked over in his reflection at himself, and smiled. Brushing away his somewhat knotted hair from the fight, he could see in the reflection his hazel eyes, and his light brown hair. He knew he was of medium build, before he had been changed, but after the change he had a few other parts enchanced and turned to a more unique and pure form, inherited by his mater Dryke'Livi, namely his manhood and a few other parts related to re-production.
He washed his hair, and leaned back, closing his eyes. A few minutes later, his eyes slowly opened and turned to his left, the area was surrounded by brushes and trees making it secluded. He sensed someone, and not just anyone, a Female someone. She radiated her presense when she choose, or covered it, like a torch with it's light, and right now she was dampering it, but he sensed it, like a candle, moving back and forth, close enough for him, but not anyone else to see.
Sphliea came into view, after a moment she joined him in the water. He took a deep breath of the remaining air, and could detect a light musk before it was lifted by the hot air, and he knew that smell, and needed no invitation. Pulling her into his arms he kissed her, holding her close as his hands lightly kneeded her back. She moaned softly in pleasure, probably not having a good massage for a centry, he caressed and massaged for several minutes. During this time she was not inactive, as her hands dropped between his legs and roused to life his sexual member, her delecate and expert touches touching him and making him shiver with goosebumps that felt like needles, and the beginning of much pleasure to come.
Dropping his hands between her legs, he caressed her sex, as she straddled him in the water he could sense her motive, and softly whispered a spell of water breathing as he gazed in her emerald eyes, which were filled with longing and lust at that moment. once the spell was cast for him, he kissed her, and pulled her into the water, at the same time pressing his member against her entrance, and felt himself slowly slide into her making both of them moan softly in pleasure.
His hands held her close on her back and head gently, his spell providing air for him, but not her, and he had to breath for both of them at this moment, a hard task at any time or rate, but more-so when distracted by pleasure. Willing himself, he grew a tail, and hooks on his feet, using these to further steady her, under the water as they slowly sunk lower into the water, and landed on a flat ridge near a deeper edge.
She was hotter than the water, and she began riding him. Moaning softly into his mouth even as she breathed fresh air from his lungs provided by the spell, was no way to express the pleasure of her sex that gripped him, and caressed him as she moved over him, grinding against him gently, using an instictive rythmn inside her to bring them both pleasure.
He held her close, even as he felt her body in it's frail yet strong human form, tremble in the obvious signs of orgasmic bliss about to over take her. Curling his tail around her, he pulled her close, and ground himself deeply into her, and she gasped, sucking the fresh air from his lungs. It took him a moment to recover and get fresh air, but not before she climaxed around his member, and embraced him, scratching his back in her bliss and moment of pleasure. As she calmed a little, she held him, as he shuddered and climaxed into her as well. Once done, he gently guided them back to the surface, and broke it, breathing real air again. She layed against him, listening to his heart, as he stroked her hair. She murmered soft words, 'lover child' and 'baby angel' came between murmeres, before she drifted to a deep and satisfied old slumber. He gently picked her up, and layed her to her side.
Afterwards, he cleaned himself off, and whispered a healing spell, leaving the skin perfect, with only tiny unnoticable traces of their sexual joining. Looking down, he noticed the leather brace had come undone to a degree. He looked around, before turning into a full dragon form, and wrapped his wings around himself, carefully undoing the straps. Under his wings, under the straps covering his left arm, there was no skin, no tissue, there was nothing under it, only his forearm bones, his radius and ulna bones showed. But one bone was dark red. It wasn't his. His ulna, the one one the right side, belonged to Dryke'Livi, and only with his blessing and manual labor, could they replace one bone, each from the other.
Dryke shuddered in rememberance, brief flashes of pain and rememberance as he recalled his hand being carefully torn open, and the bone pulled out. Shaking his head, he purged the memory away, and very carefully re-wrapped his forearm, before returning to his human form. As he took his human form, he looked over his shoulder, and saw Grak'fra, who he fought only several hours before, glaring at him, in wondering and lothing. Luckily he didn't see Sphliea.
Dryke knew he couldn't stay here anymore, as nice a spot it was, and promptly left, happy to see that as soon as he left, Grak'fra lost interest in the area as well.
In a short while, the meeting would continue. He had to be up there soon.
--
Dryke sat down once more, several minutes before they had to be back, and watched the fire. Grak'fra returned shortly after him, watching him. He obviously didn't like the mere thought of him having any part of this, and was looking for an excuse to have him thrown out, and Dryke'Livi humiliated by having his spokesman destroyed, as well as his own honor in jeporady. Dryke picked up his small sack, and pulled out a large fruit, unique to the island, it was similar to a peach, but much sweater, and more filling. It had a couple magical properties, some mythed about it being used for a youth potion.
De'Lorrak returned on time, and they waited a time, before Sphliea returned, and they all took seats. All eyes watched Sphliea, but her face was masked like stone, un-readable. Dryke couldn't even tell he had done anything with her, save for his trusty memory, and the light stirring in his loins. But he put that feeling and longing off, work before pleasure.
Grak'fra stood up after a couple minutes. "I call this session back to the present. We have only two matters to discuss left." he said, and looked directly at Dryke.
"What new spells are up for trade from the south?" He said, almost giving a toothy grin as he watched Dryke.
Dryke took a breath, then another one, making sure his voice was true and ready before replying, pulling out a parchment.
"We have several new ones, Naturally we have several fields that we concentrate on, and try to have a few for everyone when we are ready. They are put in order of priority, mainly: livly-hood, protection, Destructive, and entertainment" Dryke said, and looked over his list carefully. "Lively hood has 3, all involving agriculture and the growth of plants. Protection has 1, a shield spell, but pricy on it's ingredients." He heard a soft growl from the east side, before he continued. "Destruction has 2: Electrical charging and dissapaiting, each complimenting eachother naturally. and finnally Entertainment has 3: Most in the form of mass illusions and a daydreaming state."
"And how are ANY of these useful to us? your group is always the slowest at working and getting.." Grak'fra started, but Dryke quickly stood up, and pulled out a single scroll, before yelling a single word in draconic, meaning 'Activate' and threw it in the fire. The fire went out instantly, and in it's place a large tree quickly grew, and stopped at 15 feet tall, several feet shy of the ceiling, and had buds, starting to give off it's first fruitage.
"Would your livestock starve if you had a couple reserves of this?" Dryke said, and reached up, as the first fruit finnished filling out, and plucked it, and with a murmer, reversing the spell, the tree withered and instantly flashed in flame, slowly lowering back down to a lower level, where the fire resumed where it left off, and he held the fruit in his hand still.
He walked over hand handed the fruit to De'Lorrak, who had been silent this whole time.
"Try it, but give me the seed" He said softly, before returning to his seat.
De'Lorrak looked over him, before eating silently. Dryke watched her over the couple minutes as she ate, and he could immagine the sweet taste, the nectar, the wonderous way it filled your mouth and nostrils with flavor, a flavor even tasteless ones would taste, and always go back for more. Her face was like stone, but in her eyes, he saw supprise, longing, and hunger. When she finnished she threw the seed into the air, which landed in Dryke's lap.
"Tasty, a bit tart. But satisfying" She said, looking at him. He could see she was holding back her true thoughts on it. It was a very sweet fruit, similar to pappya, but with the texture of a pear, and smoothness of honey.
"I think this has gone on long enough" Sphliea said. "I know first hand, Dryke'Livi would never send us anything he didn't beieve was useful or needed, and your demonstration was interesting, but unneccisary. Your spells will be looked over, before we decide which groups will need what ones, in what quantity.
"Our last order of buisness, Our lands need to be looked over, visited for hostililty and weaknesses. Who shall do it this time for the next Decade?" Sphliea said softly, as a soft wind took to the air, causing the fire to flicker and her cloak to move to the west and wave in it's invisible grip.
"I Will" Dryke said quickly and without hesitation, standing up.
the remaining Trio looked at him quickly, for never had this one been decided so quickly, nor had anyone volenteered themselfs before, as it would take away from their work at their own lands, and it's productivity. Usually they ended up throwing lots, or playing some game of riddles until all were done, and the one with the fewest points took it up, there were many ties in these games.
De'Lorrak hesitated only momentarrily before nodding her head. "Then it will be, hybrid. You will spend the next decade visiting each land, town, and improving all you can. This meeting is adjurned" And all promptly stood up, turned around and took to the sky in their dragon forms. Dryke stayed behind, and walked down to the open area, found a bald area in the ground, and gently dug a hole, and put the seed in it. Pulled out a final scroll he had, whispered it's activation. The scroll turned to ashes, and the ground turned to a dark brown color, being fertilized finnally.
Dryke turned to leave, but noticed a small flower, similar to a dandylion and with the color and scent of a rose grow very quickly in front of him, kneeling down he touched it, and it pulled itself from it's root. He smiled and connected the flower to his shirt, and took wing in his dragon form to the south.
--
Dryke landed, and looked over his form for a few moments, and nodded. He knew why he was chosen, and why he was given this form. The form was of a golden dragon. All golden dragons were good in nature, and some of the most powerful compared to other dragons. His form was un-blemished, perfect, glowing, except for his left forarm, where the leather strap covered his life, his hybrid blood, his being.
He shivered, and turned human, and took note of the surroundings. He was near a large cave, in the middle of nowhere. However, in the night he could see light coming from the nearby town which was several hours away by foot. By air, it was a mere half hour, and he smiled as he recalled his first memories of his adulthood.
--
Dryke filled the pitcher with water, and carried the herbs he had finnished collecting at request of Dryke-Livi. In front of him, was a large table, and furnace where he would be cooking the dinner for two, neither of them human.
He was told to expect a nice treat that night, and was sternly, and specifically told not to touch himself at all, no matter how strong the urge could be. He knew of the pleasures his hand could bring, he wasn't innocent at 16, and had been allowed to return to the village once or twice, where he managed to find and seduce a girl before he had to return.
As he cooked and chopped and worked, certain seasonings, seemed to float on their own and add to his pot, which he didn't notice. After much work, he put everything in the large pot and started cooking it, and was supprised it smelled so good. It was a large roast, stew, and several small platters of food, as snacks which would be used early on.
As the time came, when the stew was ready, he carried out the trays first, then the stew and finnally the roast, just as he was told. He followed his instructions, at setting the meal out, offering utensils and the like. His master, sat on one end of a medium sized table. The table could seat a dozen people comfortably, and it was rectangle. But he sat at the side, so he could be closer to his guest, and she in turn sat across from him. He looked in his middle thirties, and was dressed like he just returned from sunday church.
Across the table, sat a female half dragon, she wings and a tail, her skin was red, and her hair was a deep blue, almost so blue it looked black. She wore a simple white dress, and Since she wasn't full blooded, she couldn't control her shape, it was fixed at this size, this type, this color, this form. She was easily identified out, and would be killed by the humans if they tried to. Although stronger than a normal human, she couldn't hold out against a mob of them. And after such an incident, she was saved by his master, and brought to dinner as a guest.
Dryke stood at the side, and listened, as his master spoke with her, and she was very shy. She was still young, her form bloomed years before she was ready, and she was almost a child still, her mind at 12 while her body was at 18, and would remain that way for a while till she caught up. His master was asking her questions, of her family, birth, things of a professional and personal nature. He finnally asked if she was a virgin, and dryke could see her blush. Dryke couldn't understand why he was asking, but at his masters movement of calling him with a finger snap, he came forward and removed all the plates. He heard his master mutter softly "go to your room". Dryke bowed, and turned all the dishes away, before retiring. He was wondering and dissapointed, before he changed his clothes and went to sleep.
To be continued...
