Chapter 4 â€" Waiting For the Sun

Sam's eyes popped open, "wha, wait a sec... so your telling me that there are werewolves and vampires, either this is a TV show or I know I'm dreaming," he said as he shook his head laughing lightly.

Vincent laid a claw on Sam's shoulder. Sam looked up and saw that Vincent was shaking his head with his eyes closed. "Tis real as real can be... an were all in this tagether, weithar ya like it or not."

Sam turned his head to Zee tears starting to form in his eyes, "...Zee... t-tell me this is all a joke, please"

Zee stood there and crossed his arms closing his eyes, "I'm sorry Sam... he is right, so far if we all work together...humans and furs, we have taken down a few vamps and wares, but there are to many...and were losing so many, there were more furs a couple months back...but they started disappearing, one by one. There are also those ones that..." he cleared his thought pushing his sun glasses back on his face, "I'm sorry, its a hard subject to talk about... but now its just the three of us, that much we do know. The Furs used to help the humans by protecting them against the wares and vamps. But the humans...there are a ton of them, but they've only managed to kill one or two. They're just not as strong as us... but they can use guns." He looked down at his paws and balled them up. "If only we had thumbs we could use guns and this would be all over... but...but we are..."

Zee was cut off short after an explosion went off behind them. Vincent ran to the side of the building and leaned over the edge sinking his claws into the roof, "oh, shhhi... they hit teh gas station... its on fire... this dosent look good ya two." he came running back in between the two and scratched his head with a single claw, "we wont be safe up here forever, they'll find us, and were weaponless. We need ta make it to a safer place...any one got any places tey can tink of...?"

Zee clapped his paws together smiling, "I know! The academy, we could go there and Kat could help us...oh, but I haven't talked to him in years... I wonder if he even remembers me..."

Sam tilted his head, "ya mean school, ya want to go to school in the middle of all of this?"

Zee looked at Sam and shook his head, "over the last few years it has become more then a school, its more of a... of a safe haven. Not to mention, the vamps and wares blew up the gas station, they're the only place left with food in the whole city..."

The smoke started to raise above the building followed by a howl and a screech, "good, seems there fighting each other, that will buy us some time, not a lot, also, not to mention one less vamp or wear for us to take care of." Zee said as he chuckled a little.

Vincent placed a paw on both Zee and Sam's shoulders, "Tis a long way from here to teh school, I may need tah help a bit getting us there a tad bit quicker."

Zee nodded quickly to Vincent glancing over to Sam smiling, "...hold on..." he said as he closed his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Why, what am I holding on for and what to hold onto..." he said as Vincent wrapped his arms around both of there waists as he leapt into the air, Sam quickly grabbed Vincent's arm as the city disappeared under them.

Vincent chuckled, "he held on zee..." Sam looked over at Zee, He was like he had never left the roof top, eyes closed, arms crossed... everything. Vincent suddenly started dropping like a stone in the water as the city had come back as quick as it had gone away. He landed making a small crater in the ground sending small chunks of road and dirt up into the air. Before Sam could say anything, he leapt in the air a second time shooting up into the air, "should only take anothar jump, then we'll be there." He said landing a second making another small crater sending road into the near by lake. He leapt a third time flying up into the air. Soon the academy started coming into view.

Vincent landed in the front walkway making yet another small crater, a piece of scrap metal zipped up and cut Sam on the check as Zee's eyes popped open, "get him inside now... before they smell him"

Vincent nodded and ran to the doors pushing them open as they creaked and slamming shut behind him. "Hello?" Vincent huffed out yelling as he let go of the two, "is any one here?"

The lights flicked on, making the three jump a little "yeah, there is someone here, and can I ask you not yell please, I have a splitting headache." There were two boys sitting on the top of the steps, one boy was tall and skinny with short black hair all messed up wearing skintight blue jeans and a vest. The other boy had almost the same hairstyle but blond instead, he had a pair of goggles on and a button up shit open with black pants.

Zee took a few steps forward chuckling a bit, "Kat...it's been a while..."

The blond haired boy opened his eyes slightly not smiling, "yes it has Zee...what can I do for you?"

"We need your help, the werewolves and the vampires are on the attack again"!

Kat nodded slowly, "yes I know, have you already forgotten I can see every thing in the city"? He opened his eyes all the way; his eyes were spinning some with a faint blue glow. A smile formed in the corner of his mouth as looked past the three..."you were followed...but its only Janet." A small girl walked into the academy, she was short with long black hair and glasses. She had to rifles on her back in an X.

The other boy placed a hand on his head rubbing lightly, "so...you need help from Sakura do you?"

Sam blinked a few times. "Who is Sakura Zee?

Zee shook his head, "not who, what, its one of the gangs, ill explain it later Sam." He said looking back up to The other boy nodding. "Yeah, we do need your help (Name later)."

"Hey..." Sam interrupted, "if were running from vampires, cant we just wait for the sun to come up and burn them"? he said as he looked up to Vincent. "Vincent...right"?

Vincent opened his mouth to answer as Kat stood up and started walking down the steps, "heh, if only it were that easy Sam..." Kat said looking at Sam as he reached the bottom of the stairs, "The sun never comes up..."
