Guardians: Downfall Chapter 7: Order Alpha One
Order Alpha, the human admiralty discusses the Order, and confronts Everont on his rash decision to attack the Serenity at Aegis. This is the end of Part I, Part II will be releasing soon.
Location: Earth, Colorado, somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.
Date: November 24, 2776
The Fleet Admiral, an older White skinned man stared off at the vast moutaneous region through a window. On the outside, it was covered in holographic emitters that would make it appear as part of the mountain, but on the inside was a metal room with picture of ships ranging from old sea ships, waves battering against their wooden hulls, then a few with metal frames and large ballistic cannons in calm ocean waters leading up to the first starship designed by Humanity to the trio, Valkyrie, the Serenity, and the Titus at a space dock with smaller ships orbiting her. A large crescent shaped table stood behind him, a large holographic emitter hung from the ceiling over the table displaying Aegis and the remaining ships of the UGSM. Williams watched as two stealth fighters lifted up from the forest below and took off to do patrol around the area of the large complex designated Wolves Den. The door opened behind him and he motioned with his hand to a sensor on the far left of the room to dim the windows.
"Fleet Admiral Williams." The younger looking Admiral Whitcomb said as he took a seat to the far left side of the crescent table. "Admiral Martin, Powell, and Wilson will be joining us shortly. Another Admiral is in the Kentara System surveying a planet with a fleet to see if it is ripe for colonization while the other is in the Epsilon Eridani System dealing with refugees from Aegis." Whitcomb said.
"I know about the whereabouts of the two Admirals Whitcomb. But we need to discuss the Everlont sistuation. Where is General Ashton and General Watson will arrive within the next two minutes, but Everlont's recent activities has warranted for a discussion about how to proceed as planned." Williams responded, Whitcombs nodded as the other Admirals began to file into the room followed by the two Generals. Williams walked around the room staring at each of them. They had allowed Scheck and the other qualified Captains to assume the leadership positions of the fleet's deployed at Aegis for they had to convene and discuss how to progress with their plans. And also to discuss why Everont had decided to enter the battle for Aegis. "Everlont has retreated and is rejoining the rest of the attack force for Leben. Kai is still on the planets surface having his 'fun' with the soldiers there. And as for Scheck allowing his helm officer to pilot the ship however he saw fit, we will need to discuss what to do with that and his tactic regarding firing ARC's within a planets atmosphere and with all those ships bunched up together, he's lucky the EMP pulses from the cannon's didn't disable every single ship there and send them spiraling down to the ground."
Whitcombs raised an eyebrow at Williams, "Admiral Williams, how many Naval engagements have you been in?"
Williams looked at Whitcombs puzzled, "Sir?"
"How many Naval engagements have you been a part of Williams." He repeated.
"Several dozen sir, most where hard fought victories, especially against our former adversaries." He responded.
"Then you know that during those engagements, that protocols are a set guide line, they are there to help guide the Captains in battle, but none the less, they are also meant to be broken during desperate battles." Whitcombs stated.
"Sir, with all due respect, Scheck knew that firing ARC's in atmosphere would have a high probability of temporarily disabling the ships around him, and to have his ship be disabled in return. The Accelerated Rail Cannon's emit a small EMP pulse soon after being fired. Surely we can't just let him walk away after pulling off a risky maneuver such as that one. And let's not get started on how the Ensign Nielson flew that ship. She isn't designed for Atmospheric engagements, let alone to go into a planet's atmosphere and angle herself upright. The damage they have sustained to their engines and their hull integrity are evidence of their carelessness. The costs to repair the Serenity will be extremely high." Williams said, his voice rising a little.
Whitcomb's glared at him, "That is good for us, for our plans to succeed here, to eliminate the Guardians', their academy, their leadership, their base of operations on Leben, the Serenity and Valkyrie need to be put out of commission for a certain amount of time so that way Everlont and his group can do what they need to do without having to deal with two of our most advanced war ships."
"Sir, are you saying we pat Scheck on the back and tell him 'good job, you've ruined the ship we just gave you, but good job on pushing back the enemy. Also, breaking specific rules put into place for that ship is fine, continue doing it and making us pay to fix her up yet again!" Williams said, in a mocking voice.
"Silence!" Whitcombs shouted at him. "Scheck has done us a favor, the Serenity will not be ready to do an open engagement for a while and we can use this to our advantage!" He said, his voice echoing throughout the room. Williams sat there, his mouth shut, his face red. "As for the reason why Everlont went to Aegis, that is yet to be seen. We should be receiving a transmission from him so-" A bright hologram appeared in the room. A tall figure appeared wearing a tattered cloak over his head, his muzzle barely showing and his tail curled around his leg. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear..." Whitcombs whispered. "Everlont, was just talking about you, the reason you went to Aegis."
Everlont's muzzle turned towards Whitcombs, he could see his teeth showing in anger.
"My reason, is my son." He responded.
"Your son?" Whitcombs asked.
"Akutenshi Ishimura, my son, was on the planet. I wanted to try and see him." Everlont said.
"So you obliterated several Human ships t-"
"I do not care for your Human ships Admiral! I am in it meerely for revenge against the Guardians, and to rescue my son before he falls for the lies told to him!" Everlont shouted at the Admiralty.
"You should care, we are helping you get to Leben so you can destroy the Guardians, their academy, their home world and their order. We need you for our plans here Everont, we want to help you get revenge but it is difficult for us to do so if you blatantly destroy our ships and keep us from proceeding as planned." Whitcombs stated. "things must be ready, our pieces are falling into place with ease, but you losing control of the Mass Cannon was something we were not fully ready for. Now the Pelzigans, your people, have control over it and it could make the attack on Leben a more dangerous one. We are slowly building in numbers, there are Human crews who sympathize with the Pelzigans and are more than likely going to be unwilling to actually follow through with the order when it is given. But in order for that order to be given, the Pelzigan government MUST be on it's knees."
Everont glared at the Admiral and huffed in annoyance. "I can understand that."
"Then you will wait with the rest of the Lothian's remaining fleet's for the order to attack Leben, Kai will have to find a ship and escape Aegis on his own." The Admiral stated, Everont nodded, and then faded out of existance. Whitcomb's looked at the rest of the room and watched as everyone talked amongst themselves. He would have to advance plans now that the Pelzigans found out about the Mass Cannon, and the Talkenshi. Order Alpha One would be commenced, they would enslave the Pelzigans that would survive the initiative and kill off the Guardians as well as destroy their already weakening fleet's. The day of reckoning was coming, and it was their god given right to be the dominant species in the galaxy.
