A Wolven Tail (Part 3)
#4 of A Wolven Tail
Part 3, pretty self explanatory by now, besides since I'm submitting this on the same day as part 2 I've already said all I have to say in the section before part 2. I will however but in the obligatory all characters, story contents etc © to me as are the rights to editing and rewriting.
Part 3 - All choices have consequences
The next morning came faster than he expected it. Feeling the mid morning sun on his fur Fenra got up, yawned and stretched, running a paw over his head. To his surprise he felt incredibly well rested, usually he would wake up with a pain in his back or neck from the lumpy bed. He headed into his bathroom, got washed up, changed and sat on his sofa waiting. As he waited he rolled up his shirt sleeve and placed a paw over the area where Larka had bitten him. Although almost fully healed, though being as deep as the marks were they were probably going to leave a scar he thought, and having brought him pain the previous day he regarded the two marks on his shoulder with tenderness. To him it wasn't a wound, it was a souvenir, a memento, a mark left behind by the one being he truly cared for in this whole damn city and a reminder of her he would carry with him for years to come. He smiled as he rolled his sleeve back down.
It wasn't long before the phone rang. Fenra got up, walked over to the small table in the corner and answered it.
"Hello" he said
"Hey Fenra its me" came Larka's voice
"I know" he said, chuckling to himself "who else would be calling"
"I suppose" she said, laughing softly "anyway, I've spoken to Lina, she says she will meet us outside the bar at noon, she's working most of today but she has a two hour break from then till two in the afternoon"
"Ok" he said, looking at the digital clock on the answering machine, It was ten thirty. "what time do you want to leave"
"Well it should only take twenty minutes to get there" she said "so if we leave at half eleven that should give us plenty of time to get there"
"Ok, come knock for me then" he said.
"Ok, bye for now" she said.
"Bye" he said and he put the phone down.
The hour passed quickly, in this time Fenra had pawed through his mail, filtering out the junk once again, and listened to his mothers message on the answering machine. He still pondered her words curiously but pushed these thoughts aside, he had other things to be thinking about at the moment.
He heard a knock at the door, got up off the sofa and went to answer it. When he opened the door he saw Larka standing behind it
"Ready to go?" she said
"Yep" he replied and picking up his keys, closing and locking the door behind him he set off with Larka.
It was a strange day he thought as they stepped out of the apartment building. Though warm the sky was now overcast and the air felt almost heavy, as if there were some tangible force all around them.
"Looks like were in for a lot of rain" said Larka
"Hmm... maybe" said Fenra
"That always the way it is" she said "two days of brilliant sunshine and a weeks worth of rain"
"Oh well, never mind" he said, putting an arm around her "I don't need sunshine when I've got you"
"That's just cheesy" she said laughing.
"Yeah I know" he replied laughing as well.
The pair continued laughing as they made their way to the bar. They had just rounded a street corner and were now on the same block as the bar when Fenra stared at the floor, his heart beating a little faster.
"What's wrong?" asked Larka seeing his expression.
"Nothing... nothing" he said.
"Don't tell me your nervous" she said, sounding slightly surprised.
"Maybe a little" he said, blushing "I mean what if I say something stupid?, what if I offend her?, what if she doesn't like me?, what if..."
"Aw you silly thing" she interrupted, hugging him "don't worry, you will be fine, I'm sure Lina will like you"
"Ok I believe you" he said unconvincingly, hugging her back as the pair reached the door to the bar.
The bar was relatively simple in design. The bar itself was along the right hand side wall with stools placed along it at intermittent gaps. The bar ended a few meters away from the back of the building where there was a "lounge" like area with a few leather sofas and seats. Opposite the bar was an assortment of tables. Some tall, at the correct height for people who wished to stand, and some shorter with either stools or simple wooden seats around them. Just behind these tables were two doors, one leading to the men's restroom and one to the women's. Behind the bar, other than the various bottles and a singled flat screen television mounted to the wall was a small door that led up to the employee area.
The bar was almost empty, as was to be expected at this time of day, just one solitary zebra sat at the bar, drinking and complaining, a very bored looking lion stood in front of him, barely listening and nodding occasionally. Why is it even open wondered Fenra but he didn't have long to ponder this.
"Larka!" called a voice as a young vixen stepped out from behind the bar, she had deep orange fur, wore a white, sleeveless shirt and pale pair of jeans. She ran up and gave Larka a hug.
"Hi Lina" said Larka, returning the hug.
"How are you? Are you ok? What have you been up to?..." said Lina, her voice fast paced and almost impossible to follow.
"I'm fine Lina" said Larka smiling "here this is Fenra"
"Hey there, I'm Lina" said Lina, shaking Fenra's paw.
"Fenra" he replied.
"So this is the Fenra you were talking about this morning" said Lina addressing Larka "not that I know any other Fenra's" she said addressing Fenra once again "I mean you don't hear many people with that sort of name, especially not around here, its an odd name, is it foreign or something, I used to know someone who had a strange name, I think he came from somewhere down south and..."
As Lina talked away in her rapid voice Fenra stood there confused, struggling to understand what on earth she was talking about. She seems nice he thought, but a little eccentric. He looked at Larka who was struggling not to laugh at the look on Fenra's face.
"... and the whole thing just fell apart!" finished Lina, Fenra just looked on, having no clue what she had just said "but enough of my talking, I'm just so excited to meet someone new"
"That's ok" said Fenra, wondering if this is how she greets everyone new, its certainly a way to make a first impression he thought.
"Ok, shall we make a move?" said Lina "I'm going for my break ok?" she called to the lion behind the bar as the trio walked out and up the street. The lion simply nodded and grunted an acknowledgement as the zebra poured himself another drink and began to recount his high school days. The lion sighed, frustrated.
"I can see what you meant by good looking" said Lina to Larka as if Fenra wasn't standing right next to her, Fenra blushed and Larka chuckled. "so what have you been up to Larka?"
"Oh not much, this and that" said Larka.
"I heard you had a run in with Carl the other day?" said Lina.
"How did you hear that?" asked Larka curiously.
"Oh some guy in the bar was talking about it" said Lina "talking about these two wolves and a panther he saw arguing in the street, I thought that might be you and when I got your phone call this morning I knew"
"Oh ok, fair enough" said Larka "its fine though, I had Fenra with me"
"I don't see why you don't do anything about him" said Lina "I mean he's always bothering you, he treats you like crap, not to mention the time he... well you know... I don't see why he thinks he can treat a wolf that way and don't get me started on the wolf bit"
Please don't thought Fenra.
"Don't worry its fine" said Larka.
"Yeah but..." said Lina.
"Really its fine" said Larka, Lina simply sighed "So what are you up to these days Lina?"
"Oh me" said Lina, Fenra braced himself, from what he had seen a question like this is bound to have a hell of a long answer "well not much just working at the bar mostly, that and heading out with my friends, but then that can be expensive and I'm hardly the richest vixen around, although you wouldn't believe it if you see the rate I can spend my money if I get the chance, I should really be a bit more careful I know but hey you only live once, what about you Fenra?" she turned to address him "Do you head out much?"
"Erm... not really" said Fenra "I don't really have the money for it"
"Aw that's to bad" said Lina "what do you do then?"
"Hmm... well not a lot" said Fenra "just trying to get by"
"Well cheer up, things could be worse" said Lina, at this point Fenra didn't know how but he was about to be proved wrong "so you guys are doing it then?"
"What... I... I mean ye... no... but..." stammered Fenra, his face feeling hot.
"You know, dating, you guys are a couple right?" said Lina "you're right he's not the best at talking" she said addressing Larka.
"Be nice" said Larka, smiling at Fenra and chuckling. Fenra hung his head in embarrassment for a moment.
"What, I am nice" said Lina, she obviously doesn't know the meaning or sarcasm thought Fenra.
"Yes... yes we are a couple" said Fenra after composing himself.
"Aw that's so sweet, good for you guys" said Lina "you know I knew this guy once and..."
Although this was going well, every long, rambling answer felt like claws on a chalk board to Fenra. He was a quiet wolf and wasn't used to this kind of extroverted behaviour.
"So what are you doing in the city Fenra" said Lina "I mean how come I haven't seen you around before, I usually see everyone in the bar"
"I moved here from the country, no real reason, just seeking a new life" said Fenra.
"The country eh?" said Lina "you have family back there?"
"Yes... yes I do" said Fenra.
"Cool, I knew someone from the country once" said Lina "he was so strange, had this odd manner about him, must be a country thing anyway that's another story, was it a nice life back in the country"
"Yes....yes it was" said Fenra, becoming increasingly uncomfortable by the conversation.
"That's interesting... so what do you do for a living up here Fenra?"
"A living..." said Fenra "erm... I'm currently unemployed"
"Really? Unemployed, no money, trying just to get by, sounds a pretty dull life" said Lina "I mean, you've got a family back home and I'm sure they would treat you better back there, I mean you said it was a good life, I don't know, if it was me I wouldn't be here, I mean..."
Larka looked at Fenra's face and saw how uncomfortable he was, how the conversation must be hitting some emotional nerve.
"Lina, about that favour I mentioned on the phone" said Larka interrupting her in mid sentence, changing the subject. Thank you, Fenra mouthed to Larka, she simply winked in return.
"Oh yes I remember, you said there was something you wanted to ask me, a favour" said Lina "what is it?"
"Well... its just, you know Fenra is unemployed and..." said Larka.
"Oh, say no more" said Lina "you want me to see if I can get him a job at the bar"
"Yes... right" said Larka, surprised her friend had actually worked it out.
"Well don't worry, I'll try my best" said Lina.
"You really think you can get me a job?" asked Fenra.
"Hey, anything for a friend" said Lina "though it wont be anything glamorous, probably cleaning, people round here wont like seeing a wolf serving drinks, damn idiots"
"That's fine" said Fenra "thanks Lina"
"Your welcome" said Lina, then looking at her watch added "oh shoot, my breaks almost over, I've got to get back to the bar"
"Wait how will I know whether you've tried to get me a job" said Fenra.
"Well I'll ask this afternoon and I'll give Larka a call tonight and she can pass the message along" said Lina.
"Ok thanks" said Fenra.
"No problem, I'll see you guys later" said Lina and after hugging them both she ran back towards the bar.
"So?" asked Larka as she and Fenra headed off.
"What?" said Fenra.
"Well what do you think of her?" she said.
"Oh... she's nice" he said.
"That didn't sound very convincing" she said smiling.
"No... no she is, honestly" he said and smiling added "a little less Prozac and she might be bearable"
"Fenra!" said Larka smiling, slapping him on the arm playfully. The pair laughed as they walked on.
Fenra shuffled uncomfortably on the sofa. It was late evening and the sun had almost disappeared from view. He stared around Larka's apartment nervously, his paws twitching restlessly.
"Are you sure its plugged in?" he asked.
"Yes for the third time" said Larka, walking over and sitting beside him and taking his paws in hers "relax"
"Yes... yes I'm sorry" he said, Larka kissed him on the cheek.
The phone rang and Fenra shot up to answer it.
"Whoa whoa" said Larka frowning at him "Its my apartment, I'll answer the phone, it may be for me"
"I... sorry" said Fenra, slumping back down on the sofa.
"Hello" said Larka, picking up the phone "yes, oh hi Lina"
Fenra's ears pricked up, he listened intently.
"I'm fine... yeah... yeah... ok... really... no, no I'm sure that's fine... ok I'll let him know... ok... yeah, ok bye for now" said Larka
She placed the phone back on the hook and turned to Fenra.
"That was Lina" she said.
Really?! thought Fenra "Yes, what did she say?" he said.
"Well she spoke with the owner, turns out they are in need of someone during the evenings" she said.
"Really?" he said.
"Yeah, she says if you're interested meet her outside the bar tomorrow evening, about six-ish" she said "she will introduce you to the manager and he'll handle the rest"
"Oh darn, I'm going to have to cancel my plans for tomorrow evening then" he said smiling "I'm just going to have to sit around doing nothing some other day"
"Very funny" she said.
"Larka..." he said looking at the floor
"Yes" she said.
"Thank you" he said.
"You're welcome" she said smiling sweetly at him.
The next evening came and Fenra paced up and down in his apartment, casting anxious glances at the time on his answering machine. It was half five and he was waiting for Larka to come knocking on his door. She had arranged earlier that day to catch up with Lina whilst Fenra was talking things over with the manager. Although she didn't tell Fenra this, part of why she was going was she wanted to be there to support him, whatever the outcome.
Fenra heard Larka's characteristic knock on his door and he answered it.
"I'm all ready to go" she said
"Ok, so am I" said Fenra hurriedly "lets go"
"You seem tense" she said
"Sorry... sorry, its just, I do hope this goes well" he said.
Larka sighed, kissed him on the cheek and the pair headed off.
As they walked down the street the bar was on they saw Lina standing just outside the door.
"Oh hey guys, you came" said Lina in her excitable tone of voice as they approached her.
"Yep, how are you today Lina?" said Fenra.
"Oh I'm fine, I'm fine" said Lina "but come on... come on the manager is waiting to meet you"
"Oh ok" said Fenra, this was surprisingly concise for her he thought.
The bar wasn't crowded but it was busier than they had seen it yesterday. There were groups standing by the tables, talking and laughing. They stepped behind the bar and approached the lion they had seen yesterday, the same zebra from yesterday sat at the bar, pouring himself another drink and just beginning another rant.
"Hey Leo" said Lina tapping him on the shoulder.
"Oh Lina you've arrived" said the lion in a deep voice.
"Yep and I brought them along too" said Lina motioning to Larka and Fenra.
"Oh hey Larka" said Leo.
"Hey" Larka replied.
"And you are?" Leo said extending a paw to Fenra.
"Oh... me, Fenra" he said shaking Leo's paw.
"Ah you must be the one Lina was telling me about yesterday" said Leo "the one coming about the job"
"Err... yeah that's me" said Fenra.
"Ok then, come on upstairs" said Leo "Lina you can take care of things down here whilst I'm doing this can't you"
"Sure no problem" said Lina smiling.
"Ok" said Leo making his way to the door behind the bar and up the stairs, Fenra followed him.
There was a small, square room at the top of the stairs with a few chairs dotted around a table and a sofa facing a television on the far wall. On the left hand side wall were two doors, one labelled men's restroom the other women's restroom.
Leo sat down on one of the chairs around the table and motioned for Fenra to sit in another.
"So you're looking for a job?" said Leo.
"Err... yes sir" said Fenra.
"Sir?" said Leo laughing "no need to be so formal, this isn't a interrogation"
"Oh sorry" said Fenra, felling slightly foolish but a bit more relaxed having seen Leo's calm demeanour.
"Anyway we do need someone for some evenings but its not the best job in the world" said Leo.
"That's no problem, I'd just be happy for any work I can get" said Fenra.
"Well that's what I like to hear" said Leo "now the job would involve gathering things mostly, you know collecting the empty glasses off of the tables and so on"
"Fair enough" said Fenra.
"I'm afraid I cant offer you anything behind the bar" said Leo "although we could use the extra help behind there I don't think the customers would like it if... well you know"
"I know, its because I'm a wolf" said Fenra sighing.
"Look I'm sorry but that's just the way things are around here and people wouldn't like it if a wolf was serving their drinks" said Leo "Its nothing against you but I'm trying to run a business here and I've got to please the customers"
"No, no its fine" said Fenra "I'm used to this kind of thing"
"If it makes you feel any better I hate they way they treat wolves around here too" said Leo "I wish they would open their closed minds"
"Thanks, its nice to know theirs some people around here with brains" said Fenra.
"No problem friend" said Leo "anyway I can offer you a few evenings a week and a fair wage"
"Ok, sure" said Fenra "I'll take it"
"Great!" said Leo "come back tomorrow evening and I'll have Lina show you the ropes"
"Ok thanks" said Fenra, standing up and shaking Leo's paw "Thank you very much"
"No problem" said Leo, the pair of them heading towards the stairs "oh before we head back down there..."
"Yes" said Fenra.
"You and Larka, are you... you know, together?" said Leo.
"Yeah, yeah we are" said Fenra.
"Ah good, its about time that girl had something good happen to her" said Leo, Fenra looked at him curiously "anyway lets get back down there, god only know what Lina is doing..."
They stepped from behind the door at the bottom of the stairs and Leo walked up to Lina.
"Ok Lina I can take it from here, thanks for taking over for me, on your day off and everything" said Leo.
"Oh its no problem" said Lina cheerily "see you tomorrow"
She and Larka met Fenra at the door behind the bar, Lina waved one last goodbye to Leo and they headed off.
"Well?" asked Larka as they headed out into the street.
"He offered me a job" said Fenra smiling "said I could come by tomorrow evening for my first day... err evening... well you know"
"That's great" Larka said, throwing her arms around him and hugging him close.
"Congratulations!" said Lina excitedly.
"Thank you" said Fenra.
"Come on" said Lina "lets head out to celebrate, my treat"
"Oh I couldn't..." started Fenra.
"Ah!" interrupted Larka, looking at him sternly.
Fenra sighed, smiled and kissed Larka on the cheek as the trio headed off into the night.
The next evening rolled round and Fenra arrived at the bar, Larka had offered to accompany him but he had denied, he thought it better he got through his first day by himself.
He stepped into the bar and it was surprisingly busy, busier than he had seen it before at least. He approached the bar and Lina spotted him.
"Fenra, there you are" she said approaching him "ready for your first day?"
"Yep" he said "as ready as I'll ever be"
"Great lets get started" said Lina.
Lina spent a while telling Fenra about what his main duties were, collecting empty glasses, wiping tables and so on. This might have taken less time if she didn't stop to reminisce or tell me an "Interesting" story she had just remembered he thought. Once she was finished telling him what he had to do, and rambling in her own way, he got to work.
The night was going pretty well, aside from a few off looks from customers it was relatively eventless. However after a few hours he had just finished clearing some glasses and was wiping down a table at the back of the bar when a group sat down on the sofa in front of it.
"Well well" came a familiar voice "If it isn't the wolf"
"What do you want Carl?" said Fenra.
"Hey I'm just here as a customer" said Carl.
"Hmm" said Fenra.
"So your working here now, nice to see your doing something worth you" said Carl placing his feet on the table "cleaning the filth of those above you"
"Don't you have anything better to do" said Fenra.
"Touchy today aren't we?" said Carl "careful you wouldn't want to upset a customer"
Fenra simply sighed in frustration and turned to walk away.
"So where's the bitch today?" said Carl.
"What?" said Fenra turning back to him.
"Poor slow wolf he doesn't understand my words" said Carl, the others around him laughed.
"Don't you dare mention Larka in front of me again" said Fenra
"What, are you forbidding me from talking about her" said Carl laughing "last I checked I could say whatever I pleased"
"Just watch yourself" said Fenra walking off.
"I'm going to find her wolf" Carl called after him, getting up off the sofa.
"What did you say?" said Fenra approaching Carl, an anger swelled inside him.
"You heard wolf, you can't protect her forever" said Carl coldly "I'm going to find her..." he lent close to Fenra "...and I'm going to hurt her"
"You already have! You ruined her life!" said Fenra, his fists clenched by his sides "that night you raped her!"
"Ah so she told you did she?" said Carl calmly.
"How can you act that way!" said Fenra, his voice raising "do you know how that effected her! she was to scared to even head out of her apartment after that day!"
"I remember that night well" said Carl "it was a good night"
"What..." said Fenra.
"Oh yes, just a great night" said Carl maliciously "she was great, I don't think she enjoyed it that much though"
"You sick bastard..." said Fenra.
"Oh how she struggled" said Carl, the anger in Fenra's chest burnt with white hot intensity, Carl leaned in closer "you wouldn't believe the sounds she made that night wolf"
This was too much, Fenra couldn't hold back, before he knew what he was doing he flung his fist straight at Carl. It connected with Carl's face and sent him tumbling back onto the table, his bottom lip swollen and bleeding.
As Carl struggled to work out what had just happened Fenra walked away. He headed through the door behind the bar, across the room at the top of the stairs and into the men's restroom.
He walked over to one of the sinks and leant on it, looking into the mirror above it. He was breathing heavily, the anger still burnt within his chest. He placed the paw with which he had struck Carl under the tap and washed a small patch of blood, that had come from Carl, off of it. He then cupped his paws under the tap until they were full of water and he threw this over his face.
He stared back at his reflection in the mirror, he took a few deep breaths to compose himself, the anger within him subsiding. He sighed heavily as he stared at his reflection. He ran a paw over his head and went into one of the bathroom stalls, closed and locked the door behind him.
As he stood in the stall, utilising the facilities, he heard the restroom door open. Oh no he thought, Carl must have followed me up here. He heard footsteps and someone knocking on each of the stall doors. The sounds drew nearer and finally he heard the knock on his stall. As the knock sounded on his door he smelt something as well. A sweet, pleasant, familiar smell.
"Hold on a minute" he said, wondering who it was behind the door.
He finished, zipped himself up and unlocked the door. As he opened it he was surprised at who he found standing behind it.
"Larka?" he said, confused "what are you?"
"I came to see how your first day was going" she said.
"Well, thank you for that" he said, still slightly confused as to why she had come to the male restroom to tell him this "how did you know I was up here?"
"Oh I asked Lina" she said "she said she saw you heading up here"
"Fair enough, but you cant stay here" said Fenra "Carl's downstairs and..."
"Carl?" she said "no I saw Carl slumping off around the street corner before I got here"
"But where were you?" he asked.
"Oh I had just turned the corner at the other end of the street" she said.
"Well then I... wait" he said, only just noticing how Larka was looking at him "something tells me your not here ask how I'm doing"
Larka smiled slyly at him, shoved him back into the stall and locked the door behind her. Fenra stood there, slightly taken aback, as Larka got down onto her knees.
"What are you..." started Fenra.
"You gave me two the other day and I need to pay you back" interrupted Larka, stretching out a paw to unzip his jeans, giving him a playful look.
"But... I'm supposed to still be working" he said.
"Don't worry, Lina thinks you're on your break" she said.
"But I..." Fenra started but words escaped him as Larka unzipped, pulled down his jeans and underwear and began to paw his member.
Fenra felt his member begin to swell, growing steadily as Larka massaged its sides. Before he was fully erect Larka placed her lips around the tip of his member. He sighed with pleasure as she cracked opened her mouth and flicked her tongue across its surface.
She opened her mouth fully and slid it down the length of his member until his, not fully erect, wolf hood was within her mouth. He sighed and began to pant as he felt her tongue massaging its surface. His wolf hood continued to grow. Larka loved this feeling and moaned with pleasure as she felt his member swell within her mouth. She began to breathe faster, air flowing heavily through her nostrils.
He reached full length and sighed heavily. Larka continued to move her tongue around his member, massaging it, exploring its every facet. She began to run her paws up the inside of his legs and stroke his scrotum. Fenra continued to breathe faster, his leg muscles twitching at Larka's touch.
Larka felt a few drops of liquid on her tongue, it was salty and tangy, she realised this was his pre-cum. She swallowed it greedily, enjoying its flavour and the feeling as it slid down her throat. Larka began to move her head back and forth, Fenra's member sliding freely between her lips, lubricated with saliva and pre-cum. She let him slide out halfway before she slid her mouth around his shaft once more.
Larka began to speed up her movements, Fenra placed his paws behind her head and moved them rhythmically along with Larka's movement, pushing his member deeper into her mouth. He began to move his hips in time with their movements, pulling back as Larka's head moved back, pushing forward as her head came forward, drilling her mouth with his member.
He began to pant as they moved in sync with each other. His breaths shallow and rapid, his heart beginning to race. Larka moaned with each movement, feeling his member sliding in and out of her mouth, enjoying the feeling of it against the inside of her mouth.
As their movements continued to speed up Fenra felt his climax building. His muscles began to contract, his movements slowed as muscles stopped moving, a crescendo building within his body. Larka noticed his slowing movements but she continued her movements, faster, taking him deeper and deeper into her mouth.
Fenra's movements stopped altogether and he froze on the spot, his scrotum contracted, his member swelled, he held out as long as he could. Larka felt his member swell and stopped all other movements and simply ran her tongue up and down his shaft. She moved her head so that his member was fully inside her mouth. With a final, teasing tongue flick across the tip of his member Fenra could hold out no longer. He gave in to the climax that had been building and with a great moan of pleasure, shot his seed into Larka's mouth.
His seed fired deep and hard into Larka's mouth, there was so much in this first wave that it took her by surprise and she chocked a little as she tried to swallow it all, some of his seed dribbled down her chin. It was warm, salty and sticky.
Larka loved the feeling of it floating in her mouth and sliding slowly down her throat but as Fenra's member continued to pump his seed she was forced to swallow it. She gulped greedily as it flowed into her mouth, getting as much of it as she could. When it stopped flowing she pursed her lips and drew them across the surface of his member, scrapping off any of his seed that may be stuck to it.
Fenra sighed as she released his member from her mouth and swallowed the final mouthful. She ran her paw across her chin, picking up what was stuck to her chin and licked it off.
"Wonderful" she said as she swallowed the last of it.
Fenra simply stood there panting for a moment, his body recovering from the pleasure he had just felt. He then lifted up his underwear and jeans, looked at Larka as she stood up and kissed her. They kissed deeply for a few minutes before Fenra spoke.
"Why did you do that?" he said smiling at her.
"I just wanted to make your first day memorable" she said.
"Well you've certainly done that" he said smiling.
"I'm glad" she said "but you know it was for me as well"
"Really?" he said
"Yes, I wanted to taste you" she said, smiling cheekily.
Fenra smiled at her, took her in his arms and kissed her once more.
"I guess I better get back to work" he said, breaking the kiss.
"Ok" she said in a melancholy tone of voice "I'll see you after work"
"Yeah, I'll see you then" he said and he kissed her once more before she left.
He walked over to one of the sinks, washed his face and paws and made his way back to work.
The night ended pretty smoothly after then. It seemed few people had noticed his incident with Carl and the night ended trouble free. As the last customer left the bar and the lights were turned off he met Lina at the door. Once they were both out she locked the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow Lina" said Fenra.
"Yeah, see you then" said Lina and the pair went their separate ways.
Fenra had walked no more than three steps when he spotted Larka waiting for him up ahead.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I thought I'd walk you home" answered Larka "finish your first day off with you"
"Aw, well thank you" he said.
"So how was your first day?" she asked as the pair set off.
"Well..."
Fenra told her all about his first day, what he had to do, the incident with Carl and so on. The pair took a detour on the way back to their apartments, taking a moonlit stroll through the park. They talked until the early hours of the morning. When they reached their apartment doors the pair kissed, said their goodnights and went into their respective apartments.
Fenra had been in his apartment no longer than five minutes when the phone rang. Odd for anyone to be calling this late he thought.
"Hello" he said, wearily as he picked up the phone.
"Fenra its Leo" came the voice from the other end.
"Oh hi Leo" said Fenra "what can I do for you?"
"I heard from Lina about the... err... incident with Carl tonight" Leo said "I've been trying to contact you for a while now"
"Oh... right..." said Fenra guiltily "Leo I'm really sorry, I just... I lost control and..."
"Don't bother explaining, I heard all the details from Lina" said Leo.
"Oh... ok..." said Fenra.
"Thankfully it was at the back of the bar and no one noticed" said Leo "Lina had overheard your conversation with him and had a feeling something was going to happen so she turned the music up to cover the sound of your punch and Carl falling over"
"I'm really sorry Leo" said Fenra.
"Look I know you've got issues with that guy, and he has a way of getting to people, heck I would have done the same as you if I was in your shoes" said Leo "but please try to be more careful, don't get sucked in by him, we wont be as lucky as we were tonight all the time"
"I know... I know..." said Fenra.
"Just remember I'm trying to run a business and I cant do that if you're going to brawl with that guy every time he comes in and scare away my customers" said Leo.
"I'm sorry Leo, it wont happen again" said Fenra "I'll try to keep control of my emotions"
"Ok, make sure you do, I may sympathise with wolves but that doesn't mean they get any special treatment" said Leo "I'll see you at work tomorrow"
"I'll see you tomorrow, goodnight Leo" said Fenra as he put the phone down.
Damn he thought, I was hoping I could keep that incident from him since he wasn't there tonight. Fenra ran a paw over his head, lay on his bed, yawned and fell to sleep.
A few days had passed since Fenra had started his job, it seemed his life was finally taking a turn for the better. Apart from the run in with Carl there had been no incidents at work, he had some money coming in and Larka waiting for him when he got home. He was getting closer to the sort of life he wanted with each passing day.
"See you later" he called back to Lina and Leo who were behind the bar. He had just finished an early afternoon shift at the bar and was heading back to meet Larka at her apartment, she said she had something special planned for the afternoon but hadn't said anything else.
"Bye" said Lina, waving exaggeratedly at him.
"See you tomorrow Fenra" called Leo after him.
He stepped out into the street and the bar door swung shut behind him. It was a bleak looking day, the sky was overcast with thick, dark clouds moving in off the horizon. The wind had a chill bite to it as it whipped between the buildings. Looks like its going to rain later he thought, pulling his jacket tighter around him.
After a moment of walking through the street, the chill wind brushing past his cheek making him shiver, he looked to his side. There was an alleyway he had once taken with Larka when she had met him when he finished work. He usually didn't take it alone, particularly at night, it was to risky, even though it was a quicker route back to his apartment. However he looked at it today and all he could see was shelter from the bitter chill of the wind. He decided, with help from another passing wind, to take the alleyway. Its daylight anyway he thought, I really only have to be careful at night.
He walked a few feet into the alleyway and felt the temperature change immediately, without the wind it was significantly warmer. He eased his grip on his jacked and walked on, significantly more comfortable, why didn't he come this way more often he thought. He had been walking for about ten minutes, the alleyway stretched far behind and in front of him except for the occasional parting of buildings where people enter or exit the alleyway. He could see another one of these partings up ahead. As he looked he say three figures step into the alleyway. They were to far away to distinguish who they were, Fenra decided just to keep his head down and try to slip past them.
"Well well" came a familiar voice as he drew closer to the figures "I thought I might find you here"
"What..." said Fenra looking up.
"Has it been that long since we last met" came the voice again "surely you haven't forgotten me already wolf"
"Carl!" he said, indeed Carl was standing in front of him, a fox and a horse stood on either side of him. Obviously the same ones who helped him rape Larka he said to himself.
"Looks like I might be able to pay you back at last" said Carl, Fenra stared at his face and noticed his swollen lip.
"How did you know I'd be here?" said Fenra, through gritted teeth, bracing himself for anything that might happen.
"Simply wolf, all I had to do was wait" said Carl "watch, wait and bide my time until I knew exactly where to find you"
"So you were spying on me" said Fenra.
"Spying is such a harsh term" said Carl approaching Fenra, the other two forming a crude circle around him "I prefer to call it investigating"
"You really are low aren't you" said Fenra.
"I think you're in no position to be judging me, right now I'd be worried about your own safety" said Carl.
Fenra scanned his field of view, looking for a way out.
"You know I think I remember this place... oh yes its where I got that bitch of yours too... hmm don't you love life's little ironies" said Carl and with a motion of his paw the other two advanced on Fenra "You picked the wrong alleyway to come through today wolf"
"You bastard" said Fenra through gritted teeth.
With a quick swerve of his body Fenra avoided being grabbed by the fox and the horse. He dived at Carl and knocked his off his feet. Fenra saw his chance and made a run for the parting in the buildings. However it was in vain, Carl grabbed his legs and he fell with a thud to the concrete. Carl held him to the floor and delivered a series of blows to the back of his head. Fenra was dazed by Carl's blows, when Carl's grip eased he managed to struggle free and stagger uneasily to his feet. But the fox and horse were already on him and, dazed as he was, he couldn't shake their grip. They grabbed him and pinned him to the wall. Fenra struggled but it was no use, he couldn't fight off two of them. Carl approached him as he was pinned helplessly against the wall.
"Every choice has a consequence wolf" he said, grinning maniacally.
He swung his fist at Fenra's chest and the blow struck with immeasurable force. Fenra got the wind knocked out of him and gasped for air as another blow descended on his chest, followed by another, then another. Carl continued to deliver blow after blow to Fenra, striking his chest and his face whilst the pair that pinned him kneed and kicked him in the abdomen and legs. Pain coursed through Fenra's veins as he yelled out with every blow. Hearing him howl in pain seemed to give Carl some sort of twisted pleasure.
Just as another blow struck Fenra on the chest and a small spot of blood emitted from Fenra's mouth he heard something and looked up. An elderly hyena had opened his window, obviously hearing the noise outside, and was yelling "who's there?" and trying to see what was going on, his eyesight clearly failing him.
"Hmm... funs over" said Carl looking up "come on, lets go"
The other two released Fenra and he fell to his knees.
"I hope you learned something today wolf" said Carl and with a swing of his leg he struck Fenra across the face with his foot, sending him to the concrete.
The trio then ran off out of sight. The elderly hyena, having not seen anything, shrugged and closed his window.
Fenra lifted himself to his feet and stumbled over to the wall. He put his back to the wall and slid down it. He sat with his back against the wall, breathing shallowly, his right eye barely open where Carl had struck him with his foot. He spat a mouthful of blood onto the concrete in front of him, blood sticking to his chin and matting his fur. He wiped his right arm across his face, removing the blood from the various cuts and lesions, his sleeve turned crimson as he wiped over a deep gash on his right cheek. He removed his shirt, which felt like it was choking him, and placed his right arm across his abdomen. His chest was covered in bruises and cuts accompanied by a deep, searing pain emitting from the various blows Carl had dealt to him. His legs twitched as pain coursed through them intermittently. His left arm hung limp by his side, a pain emitting from his shoulder where the joint had dislocated.
He raised his head to the sky, small drops of cold water began to land on his face, pattering over his fur, moistening it, stinging as it landed in the various wounds on his body. He stared ahead of him, his body in agony but his voice unable to cry out, all his strength gone. As the rain intensified he felt his grip on consciousness fading, slowly, gradually, his eyes closed. Everything around him closed out, all he could feel was pain until eventually consciousness failed him.
"Where is he" said Larka to herself, pacing up and down her apartment "he's three hours late"
At that moment she heard the elevator move and ran to the door. She flung the door open only to see Blake stepping out of the elevator.
"Something wrong?" he asked when he saw her face.
"Have you seen Fenra at all?" asked Larka.
"I haven't seen that wolf all day" he said gruffly.
"Oh... ok... thanks anyway" she said sadly as she went back into her apartment and closed the door.
She sat on her sofa and put her head in her paws. Oh Fenra where are you? she thought to herself.
Fenra eased his eyes open, rain still pouring over his fur, pain still coursing through his body. He coughed and spluttered as another small amount of blood dripped from his mouth. He rolled himself over, placed his one working arm on the wall and, with gritted teeth, struggled to his feet. As the weight was applied to his legs they yelled out in pain. He clenched the fist of his working arm and stood motionless, bearing through the pain. He stumbled as he tried to catch his balance. When he got his balance back he began to shuffle forward in small, uneasy steps. His body cried out in pain, his dislocated arm swinging limp at his side, his working arm clasped across his abdomen, but he struggled through. Only one thing mattered, one determination that drove his body through each agonizing step, reaching Larka.
Larka sat on her sofa, Fenra was now four hours late. What on earth could have happened she thought. Various images began to move through her mind as her imagination flowed. Each once a grisly picture of a gruesome fate. She placed her head in her paws and began to cry.
She paused, hearing a sound, the elevator stopping, someone getting out, shallow breathing and small shuffling steps. The steps grew closer and closer until she heard a faint knock on her door. She leapt to her feet and ran to the door. The sight she saw made her recoil in horror.
"Fenra... oh my god..." she said, gasping repeatedly as her eyes caught sight of each wound.
Behind her door stood Fenra, shirtless, blackened, bloodied and bruised. Blood trickled from his various wounds, leaving large, crimson patches on the floor. He stared at Larka's face and smiled slightly. I'm here, I made it, like I promised he thought.
"La...r..." he struggled as consciousness began to leave him once more.
He fell forward and landed on Larka's floor.
"Help!... somebody!... ANYBODY!" he could hear Larka shouting.
She knelt down on the floor, rolled Fenra over and rested his head in her arms. Fenra looked up at her face through half lidded eyes, wanting to preserve the image of her beauty in his mind. He coughed as another wave of pain coursed through his body. He struggled to keep his eyes open but he could not. He stared longingly at Larka's face as they closed and he was descending into darkness once more.
"Fenra... Fenra... stay with me..." she could hear Larka saying "don't leave me Fenra... please don't leave" he could hear Larka crying as she spoke, a few of her tears landed on his face.
"Don't go... please... don't... go...." Larka's voice grew muffled and faded as slowly his consciousness slipped away.
Please.... Please... Fenra.....................
