Moonwhisper: part 2
As Tharivol leaves his tent he is met by his brother. "So, how was your first night back," he says with a smart ass voice.
"Kurt, if I find out that you were watching I will kill you," he said seriously.
"No, I wasn't. Asura was making such a racket that everyone in the camp heard her. What did you do to her?" he said sarcastically. Tharivol shot a glare at his brother for that question. "What? I'm just poking fun at you big brother. Can't I have a little fun?"
"No, you can't," he pulls Kurt into a small crack in-between two tents. "Listen hear Kurt. Argo would of went to my tent if it wasn't something major. He would only ask for me to go to the center tent if there was something wrong, and you know that."
"Okay, okay, I get it," Kurt was now irritated that his brother takes his job to seriously. They left the little alleyway and continued to the center tent. When they got there two guards dressed in the standard issue shadow cloth. It is as tough as real leather and black as the void. They enter to find argo talking with a messenger handing her a letter, and he sent her away. Argo is an Argonian. He has pitch black scales and deep red eyes with a slit down the middle for a pupil. He has his robes on and his hood down. His "hair" is a bunch of rubbery spikes that go from his head up and back towards his back. Noticing the other two he moves in to great them. "Hail, Listener and Speaker." He has a kind of scratchy voice that could scare you if he were pissed.
"Hail, friend and ally," Tharivol says extending his hand. "How was your search?"
"Not very good. I was almost caught by the guards while trying to get you this," he lifts a flask of blood from his robes. "I tried sneaking up on the Imperial but the bastard saw me and there was a ruckus. I escaped as the guards were coming into the building."
"Thank you for risking your life for this. But I have a feeling that isn't why we are hear," Tharivol says while accepting the gift.
"I think the guards are going to be on high alert so they might skip the festival looking for me. I used my shadow scale ability so I don't think that I was spotted by anyone," Argo was obviously concerned that he compromised the mission. The Shadow Scale ability he speaks of is only an ability that an Argonian can use. It is only when an Argonian is hatched under the sign of the Shadow which grants them immediate access to the Dark Brotherhood. It also allows them to turn invisible for about a minute before reappearing.
"It's okay my friend this is why I chose you and not one of the other Speakers to join me," Tharivol says without hesitation. "This is no problem. The Night Mother told me this would happen that is why I have a back up plan," Tharivol lies. "We will still go in as planed us three leading on point. I suspect that the guards will most likely lose interest in the finding of someone that no one saw."
"That is true," the Argonian says with a sigh of relief. "Oh and by the way before I forget. The festival has been postponed until tomorrow because of this."
"That is good. It gives us more time to prepare," Tharivol says not happy at all. "Well I must take my leave and tell the others."
"May the Night Mother always watch over you brave Listener," Argo says giving a friendly hug to his friend.
"And may the Night Mother wrap you in her cold loving embrace," Tharivol replies and leaves.
When he leaves Kurt follows. "Brothers and sisters come here I have an announcement to make," everyone starts to huddle in so they may hear what their leader has to say. "We are postponing the attack until tomorrow. I am sorry for this inconvenience." A couple of awes can be herd from the crowed as they disperse to their tents except for Adron, DeNdi, Ixen, and Asura. Asura walks up to her lover curios to what is going on. "They have postponed the festival to tomorrow. I will not say why."
"Okay so did he get it?" Asura says anxiously.
"Yes, he did," Tharivol takes out the flask and chugs it down. "Ah, that was good," he says while color returns to his face. Vampires from this realm are able to stay in sunlight as long as they feed off of blood once per day. The longer they go without blood the stronger they become, but the more they are affected by sunlight and are more noticeable to others.
"I always liked you after you feed," Asura said getting real close to Tharivol. "So what are we going to do tonight?"
"Not today Asura. I'm still tired from last night," Tharivol was telling the truth. Asura tends to last longer than him.
"Awww your no fun,"she says beginning to lower her head.
Tharivol leans his head over to her ear, "Tomorrow I promise." He kisses her fore head as she looks up at him.
"I love you," she says with a giggle her blue skin turning to a purple color. "I will see you later tonight I have business with one of the recruits who seems to have placed his sight on my ass."
"Don't kill him please Asura," Tharivol says quickly.
"I won't," she says with an evil smile.
Later that night Tharivol went to go and speak with Adron and DeNdi. When he got there they were getting ready for bed. "Hello guys how's it going."
"Nothing much. What brings you here Thar," says DeNdi.
"I told you to use my full name," he replies.
"Oh, sorry Tharivol Galenodel," she tells him knowing that is not what he meant.
"Funny. I just came here to check up on you guys. You know how have you been dealing with the postponing of the biggest mission the Dark Brotherhood has ever had?"
"Tension is rising among the rookies. They don't know when Asura might be coming around the corner to beat the shit out of them," Adron says with a chuckle.
"Well I'm hoping this will be a successful mission cause if it isn't..." DeNdi says looking at Adron.
Adron looks over to his mate, "Don't worry everything will be okay," he wraps his long furry arms around his mate and licks her neck.
"Well I can see where this is going so I'm just going to leave now," Tharivol says and speeds out the flap of the tent. "When do they ever take a break sheesh." Tharivol starts to head back to his tent when he hears a familiar voice.
"Tharivol you must succeed in this battle. Sithis depends on you to fulfill this order. Beware though, someone might not make it if you aren't careful. I hereby grant you my blessing along with his," the voice echoes through Tharivol's head.
"Thank you I accept both blessings oh most unholy maiden," Tharivol replies back.
"Go now dear child and may Sithis go with you," the voice's volume gets lower as she finishes her sentence.
"I wonder what she meant about one of us not making it," he thinks to himself. "Does she mean Adron. DeNdi. Ixen. Kurt. Asura. Me. Wait a minute she can't possibly mean..." he stops and his eyes fill with fear. He than turns around and heads to the other side of the encampment where the only other person that could possibly be it. His daughter....
